    I'm glad you asked this, it's an issue for me too. I'm thinking I'm either going to have to lift really heavy, or do high intensity w/o like plyo. My main goal is losing inches, with the longer term goal of building the strength and getting a tiny bit of definition in my legs.

    I'm not a professional, but that doesn't sound right at all. Maybe what they meant was no strenuous exercise. If you're not on bed rest, you could at least go on walks, pilates, or other exercises that are easy on the body.
