What does everyone think of the music for S&S series?

My feeling is that we need to give the music some time. Of course we all love familiar-sounding music the first time around, because we already know it. I did not love the RWH music the first couple of times I did the workouts, but now I am familiar and embrace it. I do agree that the Rockm...

    LOVE Total Body Giant Sets

I did this one today too, and completely agree with your review! I loved this workout, and really appreciated that my legs had time to recover between sets. I also agree on the ab review: I do think it is the hardest, but I feel happy about that, because it gives me something to build toward!

    Help with plateau?

Assuming your plateau pertains to weight loss and not stength gains, and you are doing RWH plyo 2, RWH Li 2, then most of LI 1 along with multple jump rope sessions and bonus abs (plus lifting heavier than Cathe), then I don't think more exercise is your answer. Sad to say, but calories still...

    Strong & Sweaty Project Update - 11-4-16

I am late to the game on this thread, but wondering if the cool down prior to the stretch can be considered a chapter unto itself? Otherwise, if the final segment of a planned workout is not the final segment of the premix, you are on your own to pause and do your own cool down. Not a biggie...

    Favorite Circuit Training DVDs?

I try my best, but eventually just do regular. At least my feet are still moving! Haha

    Where is Lorraine?

Yes, it is interesting how attached we feel to these inspiring ladies! I have recently purchased some older videos via Deal of the Day, and I am so impressed at Lorraine's jumping in the older videos! She is amazing, and I always keep an eye on her.

    Favorite Circuit Training DVDs?

Drill Max is so fun (how does that stability get so heavy?), and Afterburn makes you feel so accomplished. Those spiderman mountain climbers are killers.

    X Train and RWH

The other big difference I see in the two workout styles (aside from the pace), is that the RWH workouts have a "finisher" after each set instead of at the end of the muscle grouping. For me, that makes a difference (especially the decline pushups, which is one of the rare times you will see...

Alternative music playlists for Cathe DVDs?

Yes, we are so different. I really enjoy the sound alikes as well. The DVD list posted by Alexis above includes many of my favorite workouts because I like the music so well. I am sorry it doesn't work for everyone. Darn it.

Blog 2 Lazy 4 the Gym

I subscribe to her blog as well, and have commented on several of her Cathe reviews, and I always feel so impressed that she replies back very quickly. I return to reviews I have read many times before after revisiting a workout that I have not done for a while. Thanks Jengolf!!!

    Arthritis

Hi Randi Diane. I have not experienced arthritis, and so sorry to hear your story. But I hope someone with experience can chime in with real-life advice to assist you. I can only say (with no knowledge of your situation), in general, I believe do as much as you can each day without doing harm to...

IMO, all home exercisers should own ICE Series!

I love so much that you are getting this for your daughters! My sons are 11 and 15, and I have tried in vain to interest them in Cathe workouts. Maybe if there were girls, I would be more successful? I don't get my boys at all, but hopefully your daughters will be stronger, fitter, happier women...

    Favorite Circuit Training DVDs?

Depending on the level of difficulty you are after, I enjoy Cardio and Weights when I am a bit low on energy and can't make up my mind what kind of workout to do. I love the music and the step segments, but it also includes compound exercises and upper body weights, as well as an ab/plank...

    Stretch from Butts & Guts

I love that the crew kicks off their shoes in Legs and Glutes and she says "you might want to do the same." And I always do! :-)

New Forum Category idea: Discussion by workout series?

Hi Cathe, Thanks to your terrific "Deal of the Day" option, I have been able to obtain many of your older DVDs, and I just love them! However, I find that when I finish them, I am in a frame of mind to see how others feel too, and jump online to find discussions from past and/or present...

    Your favorite Cathe Workout?

Another vote for X Train here! But I also love To The Max, Flex Train, Pyramid Upper Body, and pretty much any step routine. Oddly, although I do force myself to do Butts and Guts regularly, I find so many parts of that workout painful, it is probably the only Cathe workout that I find has a...

Any older step workouts similar to PRS 2

Since PRS2 has more of the power moves intermixed with the step combos, you might consider trying IMAX 2, which has 10 intervals of a step routine followed by a blast. (And you will also get Cardio and Weights as a bonus!) Otherwise, I would have recommended Step Blast, Body Max 2, and Rhythmic...

What is your fave Weight lifting videos

I really love Pyramid Upper and Lower Body. When I am on the lowest weight/highest rep part, I can concentrate on form and squeezing my muscles, and when I am on the highest weight/lowest rep part, I can concentrate on lifting the dumbbell. I also like the music and for some reason, the workout...

46 and needing to get back into fitness..

I started getting back in shape at about 46 as well, and I started with Cathe's http://shop.cathe.com/Basic-Step-Body-Fusion-DVD-p/639.htm workout, and it was perfect for me: it got me moving, enjoying the music, had some light weight work and steady cardio and of course Cathe's bright and...
