How did you get to visit this forum?

I have been a member of Cathe's forum since 2001. I "met" Cathe on her exercise and pregnancy forum. She was pregnant with her second son. She was so warm and welcoming and I was embarrassed to admit to her that I didn't even know she made workout videos. She made me welcome despite this...

Long or Short (hair that is!)

How do you wear your hair and how does it affect your workouts? I've had short hair for years and was thinking of growing it long so I could have one last shot at long hair before I am 40 (scary, huh?) My problem is that all of my hair is going grey and wiry and I'm not sure that would be...

Do you (insert name) take your SO's name....etc etc

Hi Marion, I took my SO's name when we got married because I actually like it more (selfish reasons :) ) ! I didn't like my maiden name, so I was pleased to get rid of it :) I'm glad you've come back to Cathe-land, I was beginning to feel like the only Aussie out here ;) cheers Liz N

Workouts Minutes Per Week - Please respond

Hi Jillybean I usually workout from 300 to 600 minutes per week depending on time, and inclination and what I am training for. In my university days I used to do 800 minutes, but that's unrealistic for me now - plus more isn't better if it is junk training (ie just training to burn calories)...

    Why???

I am really sorry Janice. I do know how you feel. My sister is a drug addict and it is very difficult to watch another member of your family engage in such destructive behaviour. We have been through hell and have supported (but not financially) efforts to take responsibility for her...

How do you prepare and eat steel cut oats?

I had my first crack at them this morning - I only did enough for one serving 40g (I think that's just over an 1oz for you American gals - dry) - I cooked them in water (without salt) and added a little splenda and skim milk. They tasted great. I finished off with a soy isoflavone protein...

How do you prepare and eat steel cut oats?

I have just bought a packet of steel cut oats and wondered how to prepare them. I have read that they fill you up more than oatmeal. I am planning them for breakfast with this nifty new Australian product called Protein Crunch (crunchy protein powder) and a bit of fruit. Clean oat eaters...

    Cathe, you can't please everyone....

Linda, I am thrilled with the actual workouts. Cathe has done a great job again. Thank you Cathe! I wish though that you were a little more understanding of those who have had sound issues though. We have waited for over seven months for these DVDs and it is naturally upsetting when...

has anyone continued running while pg?

Good to see you Jeni and congratulations on your pregnancy. As for running, I ran during my last pregnancy until I was 31 weeks. I stopped when I started feeling uncomfortable. I had a lot of problems with my joints being too relaxed. If it feels OK, then it probably is Ok, but Jeni...

    PCOS, Lupron, Hysterectomy, Etc.

RE: Question for Liz... Hi Erica, what is the actual drug that is in Prometrium? I know exactly how you feel - some types of progesterones, I just cannot handle at all! The best thing you can do is take any sort of progesterone with food. The other option is trying natural progesterone...

    PCOS, Lupron, Hysterectomy, Etc.

Hi Kim I suffer with PCOS too and I have read about your battles with PCOS and depression. I am sorry you have felt so awful! Reading about what you have had, it's little wonder! I would give the Lupron a shot for a few months. Sometimes it is amazing how much better one can feel when...

Hi Janice, I am an introvert (an INFJ on the Myer Briggs type test) and I have qualifications as a pharmacist and an exercise physiologist. I do my best work in small community pharmacies where I can get to know my client base really well. I have enjoyed personal training too (prefer one...

RE: Tummy tuck Abs after C-Section?? Thanks so much Amy, I am seriously considering having this procedure done - my abs are almost carbon copies of yours were before. I wonder that at age 36, I'm too old to consider doing this. Cheers Liz N

    Abs after C-Section??

Hi Denise, I have had two C-Sections, my first was exactly like what you described. With my second one, I spoke to my doc about tidying it up and she did a wonderful job - my abs are nowhere near perfect but at my fighting weight my abs are almost flat, though the skin over them is a bit...
