Tell us about your STS results!

My post from a Cathe group on Facebook.

Only my Catheletes would understand this. I am so excited to say, I finally completed the Cathe STS program. I did my last workout this morning. I started back in May and originally planned to do the 3 month cycle. After the first week I fell in love and decided to do the 6 month rotation. I only had one non workout related injury. The rest week before starting Mesocycle 3, I stepped off the curb and jarred my back. I was down for that week and 2 weeks after. Other than that it was smooth sailing. When I started I was in the weight range that I wanted, so I was not concerned about losing weight, which I didnt. I maintained the whole time, but I went from a size 8 to a size 6. I will be 49 on the 10th and I am just overwhelmed with joy.

I am going to do an active rest week then start Strong & Sweaty.

My love of Cathe started way back when, with the Wedding workout. I still have the VHS tape, YUP.

I will be happy to answer questions if any of you peeps have questions.

ETA, I am 5' 9.5"

Congratulations Dollies daughter!
Your consistency has paid off! Also, WHEW that your back injury was only temporary! Knees, Shoulders, low back are definitely things to be wary of as we age.

Love Strong and sweaty..I'm sure you'll have fun!

Keep up the good work!!

Been reading these results. Been thinking of attempting STS again starting the first week in April.
I've never done a full STS rotation ever. Done parts of each Meso but not the whole thing (insert embarrassed face)
I want to do it.
Reading results helps me out a lot

I did the 3-month Xtrain rotation. I noticed gains more quickly with the undulating Xtrain approach which was very motivating. So now I'm doing a hybrid STS ... it's still progressive, but also undulating & I'm really liking it. Just as with Xtrain, I'm noticing improvements quickly and that is so motivating.
Do you mind explaining the undulating approach with a little more detail? Like, do you do a week from each meso, or do you undulate from workout to workout . . . ?

Thanks for explaining! I get it now. It's a cool option to think about! I haven't done the Xtrain rotation yet so haven't tried undulating yet. I'm intrigued. :) Will definitely try in the future.

What is the wedding workout?

Hi All,

I am new here and just finished the entire 40-DVD STS 1-2-3 set, done in 10 weeks (I accelerated the last mesocycle since I will be traveling and wanted to finish up before I left, and I also did both the plyo legs and the squat rack legs). I also got InBody scanned at my gym before and after to see what the actual results will be. So here you go, in a nutshell: I am 5'1" and 57 years old. Weight went from 137.7 to 130.3 lbs; skeletal muscle mass went from 48.9 lbs to 49.6 lbs, and percentage body fat went from 35.2 to 30.4 (not a typo). My trainer says the 5% BF decrease is huge and a great result over 10 weeks. BMI went from 26 to 24.6. The lean mass in both arms and both legs went up from L106.6% and R110.8% to L108% and 116.1% and legs went from L96% and R96.6% to L96.8% and R96.9%. What an amazing program! I am thrilled with my results!

I did change my eating plan signficantly though, that part needs 100% committment, no cheat meals, no minor naugtiness that just piles up. It's all about protein and fiber -- so lots of chicken breast cooked with minimal fats and no sauce except soy sauce, eggs, sardines, tuna, egglife wraps, canned beans, potatoes colcannon with nice butter (not agribusiness discount butter or faux butter), raw kale, raw cabbage, nonfat greek yogurt + berries were my ONLY dessert, broccoli, beets, sweet potatoes, potatoes, all either steamed or lightly stir fried in coconut oil. Eating these things consistently and there being no other options made the food noise go away. Almost like the GLP-1s without the injections, LOL. It was super easy to eat this way and I never felt hungry at all. If anything, it was kind of hard to get in that many grams of protein (120 grams was my goal). And the "mind messiness" and negotiating that happens when there are a lot of choices, restaurants, to go food, frozen food, etc. all goes away because those were just not options. I don't drink alcohol or coffee beverages or sodas at all.

I also switched midway from doing it in a fasted state to doing it after eating 3 steamed soft boiled eggs since some people think that when your body has heightened cortisol already, it will be harder to do things like build muscle and let go of fat since it's already in a stressed state. I am happy with the results after doing it after eating the eggs, so will continue working out that way.

Thank you Cathe and team for this super awesome program! I will be sure to do it again!!! It was truly life-changing, and I am shocked at how much stronger I am, and how much more confident I am about lifting heavier weights. It seemed the heavier I lifted, the leaner I became LOL.

I did STS after I did STS 2.0 (did not do the InBody scan at the beginning, which is unfortunate as I would have liked to have seen the difference). And like Cathe says, I will now take a week off to recover!
