Hardcore Fitness Maniac Hotties for 12/2

Well, today I decided to give Step Blast a shot. I had a great time and wow did my heart rate get up there. By combo 2 I was in the 150's and that is hard for me to do anymore. It pretty much stayed there and higher through the rest of the workout.

I'm happy I have enough room to do step, but the floor I am doing it on is concrete and my low back isn't too happy with me right now, so that worries me. I'll have to see how it goes the rest of the day. I'm not planning on doing step with every cardio workout, but it would be fun to do them here and there.

Anyways, got a great calorie burn.

Cardio stats:
60 minutes
52 minutes in zone
422 calories burned

I haven't burned over 400 calories in a long time. This actually surprised me!

Good Morning Maniacs!!!

I will also be doing Step Blast today. The only heart rate monitor I have is within the elliptical so I have no idea what I will burn. Debbie, sounds like more of a calorie burn then I'd figured. Good job!

Debbie: Nice work! You really got your HR up there. Nice job! Make me want to re-visit Step Blast. I brought SB DVD when it first came out, only tried it once.

Toasty: Enjoy Step Blast:)

Morning Maniacs! This morning I did Squeeze lowerbody challenge followed by 30 on the treadmill. I'll use my valslides on the step backs next time with this workout and maybe add some more valslide moves if I want a longer leg workout. I gotta go back over to VF as I remember someone did some of the moves in a different order and made it harder... The hamstring segment was really good and I've never felt my hamstrings feel like that..almost to the cramping point. Might do that segment twice next time (devil smilie).

You guys are all doing great with Deb's rotation! I feel kind of left out.:p

Deb- I have carpet over concrete in my workout room. It's plenty of cushion. Maybe you could find an old remnent somewhere.

Bionics,

How did you make out yesterday with that ferocious dog?

LOL! I'm still alive! Really, it behaved very well yesterday, thank goodness. It's weird because some days it's good and some days it scares the H*ll out of me. I will never trust it. It has been severely abused (shock collar entertainment for beer drinkers for one!), so it will never be "normal".

Good morning!

Today was legs & biceps and Cardio Coach 4.

Legs:

Leg Press

These were much easier this week. I still can't pull myself up without jumping but I was able to lower myself down slowly on all reps except for the last 3 and then I had to go fast!

Standing Alternating Curls
10r 8r 6r 4r
12.5# 15# 17.5# 20#

Hammer Curls
10r 8r 6r 4r
15# 17.5# 20# 22.5#
I cheated less on the last 4 reps this time. :)

I don't know why my reps and poundage don't line up properly. But you guys get the gist.

Finished up with Cardio Coach 4, as I got a bit of a late start AGAIN!

Debbie - I have those puzzle mats on top of a carpet remnant and that seems to do the trick. I got the mats at Sam's Club. Good job on your cardio today!

Teddygirl - NICE WORK!

Dallys - Way to squeeze that lower body. :) I know what you mean about feeling a bit left out. Debbie's rotation sounds like a goodie! We'll just have to watch them GROW!

I have the joy of a mammogram later this morning. I hope they can grab hold of those little things! :p

Didn't have a chance to check in earlier. I took Puddle in to the vet at 7:30 this morning to have her spayed. Vet called me back and said he thought another vet would be better where they had two sets of hands for such a large dog  So I had to go back and get her and take her to another vets office. This was fun carting around Olivia in a car seat and a Dane. I did not sleep hardly at all. My 1 arm that got the hepatitis b shot felt like a giant charly horse and a needle was still in there. Finally got up and took aspirin and a tylenol simply sleep. Coughed too and forgot all about the inhaler :?
Workout was 2.28 miles on the treadmill burning 272 calories, then I did GOFit Iron Core kettlebell workout volume 2 and burned 355 calories in 45 minutes(I jogged in place and did speed skaters during the rests), I finished with Amy Bento's step challenge 3 kettlebell ab work and stretch.
Total calories burned was 791 and workout was 1hr 47 minutes

KettleBell work went like this:
3 circuits 2nd added extra swings after the moves and third put two moves together in sort of a superset and workout was 45 minutes ending in abs all swings I used 20lbs.
warm up with halos, around the world, around the world lower, and figure 8 I used the 15# kettlebell for this
2 arm swing 20lb kettlebell all sets
1 arm clean 1 set 15lb kettlebell, 2 sets 20lb kettlebell
1 arm press 15# kettlebell (both shoulders are sensitive one because of the shot yesterday)
front squat all 3 sets 25lb kettlebell
renegade lunge all 3 sets 25lb kettlebell
single leg deadlift all 3 sets 25lb kettlebell
good mornings all 3 sets 25lb kettlebell
1 arm rows all 3 sets 25lb kettlebells
abs
oblique move with kettlebell held between calves lying on floor I held the 15# in my hands
crunch with arms overhead holding kettlebell between feet I held 20lb in my hands
Finished with Amys using 15lb and 20lb kettlebells

Suz: Wow we, nice work yourself. Good job on the chin-ups:D

Dallys: Your workouts have been good and consistent. Nothing to left out about, join in:p I tell you doing repeat upper work is off the chain, I’m liken it!

Diane: Niiiiiicccccceeeeee! :):)

Char - Have fun with Step Blast!!! :p

Teddygirl - Nice workout and weights! Woo Hoo! And nice job on doing CC #7 in the beginning. I just can't seem to bring myself to do cardio on my weight lifting days. Not sure why.

Dallys - I have carpet in that room along with the foamy stuff underneath. I'm not even sure that is what caused my low back to ache, it could just be because I haven't done a step workout in over 2 years. I also have those puzzle matts, I may have to put some down next time I try a step workout. I think I have Imax 2 scheduled soon, I'd like to do that one again.

Suz - Nice workout lady! Woo hoo! And I also have those puzzle matts, I just need to get them out and put them down. I may do that next step workout. And you're getting there with the chins! Nice going!

Diane Sue - How do you like doing kettlebell workouts? I just don't think that would be something I'd like to do. I would think you either love it or hate it. Nice going!

Debbie, I am really enjoying the kettlebells. It adds something new to my workouts that I can crosstrain with. I have sure had some new muscle soreness from them. The hard thing is realizing that for form I need to start lighter and work up. Really want to just grab a heavy one LOL I do have a 35# that I will start doing some work with coming Christmas. Depending on how much you do the swings and speed you can really burn a lot of calories too. The GoFIt ones move slower. Great for a start. Here is a motivator http://www.fitcommerce.com/Blueprin...Id=276&announcementId=1223&portalId=2&cid=631

She did snatches(these are tough imo) 155 in 10 minutes with a 35# kettlebell. I eventually will quit wearing my hr monitor though because the cleans and snatches bring the kettlebell back towards the wrist and I have to take real care in not smacking it. They do make wrist bands to protect the wrists but they are not supposed to hit hard.

Wow, she looks awesome. I'd kill to be that cut. So kettlebells are more an aerobic type workout? Like maybe doing Cathe's bootcamp workout. You work with weights and keep your HR up? Is that how they work?

Debbie, yes it is sort of like that but your hips and core are at work throughout most moves. There is a different feel to them unless you are just doing things like 1 arm rows. The workouts that I have done also have you get down really low in the front squat position. I have some AOS workouts coming so I am hoping to learn even more:D Bootcamp has weighted and non weighted work. Some Kettlebell workouts do Circuits like that and some don't. The cardio is from swinging the weight.

That's cool and very intersting. I'll be wanting to hear your results.

Did Amy's Step Challenge 3 through to combo 5, took about 55 minutes. Have some good DOMS in my legs and my core from yesterday.:D

Debbie - Great job on Step Balst. I really need to get a HRM that records calorie burn.

Today I got a fierce headache but was not going to let that stand in my way! It is still with me but maybe not as bad. I knew that it was one that exercise would not make worse so I went for it. Today I finally did PP...Didn't have my best results but here they are -
Challenge 1 - Bike
Challenge 2 - TM
Challenge 3 - Stepmill
Challenge 4 - Arc Trainer
Challenge 5 - TM
Challenge 6 (added challenge) - SM

Bike - 5 miles, TM - 1.75 miles, SM - 1.70 miles and 81 flights, Arc - .65 miles. Total calories - 819, 179 max HR, 151 Avg.

Suz - I "get" to have a mammogram soon too. I have the same problem you must have - not much to set up on that shelf with my less than 34A's:eek:

Diane Sue - What kind of dog do you have? Did you find a vet who could do the surgery today?? Hope she made out ok and glad it is over for her, if that is the case.

Dallys- I used to be a petsitter. I got bitten once by a dog on the foot and once by a cat on the face. Total accident with the dog but OUCH and then it got all infected even though I went immediately to the doctor for antibiotics - thank goodness I went ASAP.

Debbie- Thanks again for the awesome rotation! I am excited about my first one ever - it is more motivating than I imagined and I am anxious to see the results.

Just completed my workout for today on my new treadmill :D Did HIIT, stats are as follows:

Time:30 minutes; 5 w-up, 20 intervals (2 min run-1 min sprint), 5 c-down
Distance: 3 miles
Calories Burned: 346

Diane Sue...checked out that website you posted, that Lorna chick is cut! Can't wait to see your results using the kettlebells, although it is hard to imagine you looking any hotter than you already do!

Got my gym style dvds! :) Don't have Step Blast but sounds like that one is alot of fun.

Great workouts everyone!

Linda, I am not sure if I answered about what brand of Kettlebells I have. All of them I have purchased are the GoFit ones. They seem to have smooth handles and I like the vinyl coating.

Shana, my dog is a 108lb harlequin dane. My vet called another vet that he trusts and is the veterinary board director(something like that). So I picked her up and took her there(they have 3 veterinarians in their office. They were really nice and got her in to surgury this afternoon. Said if I felt I wanted to leave her overnight they wouldn't charge. Anyway, I picked her up this evening. I felt she would be more comfortable at home with her own bed. She is doing fine. Got sick when she first came home and drank some water. She hasn't eaten anything but does get up once in awhile and put her head in my lap for some sympathy. I have pain pills here for her. Looks like you got in a great workout despite the headache:)

Sonya, I bet you are so happy getting a new Treadmill. Looks like you are already getting a good workout out of it. Yes, Lorna looks great. You will enjoy the Gym Styles. That is a good series:)

Diane, I checked out that kettlebell website you posted; that lady looks *amazing*! Definitely motivational; I'd love to look like her!

My workout today started with clibming the rock wall at school. It was pretty cold outside, unfortunately, so my friend and I both felt kinda stiff and uncomfy. I went up four times. When I got home I wanted to do more upper body but wasn't sure what to do and didn't want to overdo it. I did bicep concentration curls, 20# dumbbell, set of four each arm, then two, then set of 8 with 15#. THen two sets of 12 pushups with my feet on the stability ball, then ab section #2 from Amy's Abs and Stretch, and last of all the seated section from Tracey's Yoga Solutions.
