Lifting like girls

Kindergarten would be a step up for me, I'm still a preschooler! Shoulder day here, 4 sets strict press, 3 sets of :seated dumbbell press, 1 arm side laterals, rear delt flys, alternate front raises and dumbbell shrugs. Did get sheared yesterday...forgot my head looked like that! Have a great Thursday friends.

Tom, was your hair super long? I love my DH's hair long. I make him keep it that way, with a goatee. People say he looks like Jesus. But that's not a bad thing, for sure, so why not? ;) When he starts to lose his hair I will let him go for the Patrick Stewart look. No comb overs, thank you very much

Karen, let there be light? How is the power situation coming?

Today was leg day #2 for the week. I was not feeling it so I probably half a$$ed it unconsciously but at least my a$$ got moving, right?

Good Morning Ironworkers! Today was arm day but less than usual zeal. My bod is trashed, Next week is DEFINITELY going to be a deload (I think...probably??) I have sore shoulders, knees, elbows, traps etc. Today I went light but fairly high rep, tri pushdowns 4x10/ dumbbell curls 4x10, skullcrushers 3x15/ conc curls 3x10 and kickbacks 2x20/ ladder curls 2x30. On ladder curls I actually bumped up 5# since the previous part of the w/o was less intense. I think a light week will do me good...hope I get to find out. Lisa, my hair gets really bushy, it's curly so, rather than long it gets "froey" I am glad to still have it at my age, but the 70's have come and gone! Glad it's Friday..how about y'all? Have a great weekend.

Well guys, I've been able to keep my program going throughout this electrical debacle. Took us about 5 hours to gitter done. City inspector has been out, Rocky Mountain Power, has given it the OK, so I guess we're back in business. New outside panel, with a separate panel for the AC. Looks like it's all good. Which helps me realize how fortunate I am to be living in this time. What would I do without electricity and indoor plumbing. Always thought I would have been a great pioneer woman. Now I'm not so sure. But, I guess if you have never had plumbing and electricity, you don't miss it. Anyways, finishing up my fourth week of Metashred. It's still all good, and definitely a shredder. Lots of definition in the last four weeks. Still highly recommended. Well, I'm off to do laundry!! Just thrilled I don't have to beat it on a rock, at the river's edge. Make it great, guys!!!

Day 1 of deload week. Deload but not worthless. Today was chest and tri day, starting with bench, sets of 10 at 45.115 155 and 175, flys (40s) x10 x 12, dumbbell inclines (50s) 2x15, then tri pushdowns 2x10, skullcrushers 2x10, double arm kickbacks 2x15 (40s for these and skc's) and finished with some ab work, crunches x50, seated knee ins x25 and cable crunches x 50. I didn't do ANYTHING over the weekend, thought I would take it easy for a couple of days and see if the rest time would do me good. I am really going to try to make this week a deload and not go heavy....I think I can ..I think I can!! Karen. sounds like you guys knocked out the electrical gig in record time! I now know who to call!! Lisa, I hope your revisit with kindergarten homework hasn't got you stymied! lol! Another week is upon us my friends...make it all it can be!

Karen, nope, that pioneer woman stuff is nor for me, no thank you. I like hot showers, warm coffee, grocery stores, and epidurals wayyyyy too much for the olden days lifestyle! Glad you got the electric fixed and that you are safe. Your rotation sounds great, glad you are loving the results!

Tom, hope you enjoyed your rest last weekend. Looks like football is back. That will give you something to do huh? Good workout, try hard to deload lol!

Saturday was total body, today was metabolic. I was dragging but got it done! Have a great Monday!

Well, today was a definite deload back and bi day...shorter and lighter and different. Got just about 0 sleep last night..HATE THOSE NIGHTS, so today was sort of "" go thru the motions" day. Pull ups 2x5/ light deads 2x5, pullover 2x8, dumbbell rows 2x8 and for bis, I did light dumbbell curls, 6 count up/ 4 count down x5, decline curls 2x8 and conc curls ( same count pattern as db curls) 2x5. I really dropped weight for the bi stuff but the slower pattern still required some effort. A nap would feel SO good, but off to work I go. Lisa, I am glad college football is back. An old friend is coming down over Labor day weekend and we always hit the casino 1 day, but it won't be Sat because too many good games will be on! In survival mode today, hope y'all had better nights and Tuesday is good to ya!!

Tom, hope you get some rest between now and the weekend. Got to be on your "A" Game to coach those college teams from the couch, lol, plus there's the casino where you want to make sure no one sneaks anything past you! Feel proud for doing something today, at least you went for it!

Karen, how are you?

Today was leg day and I did it! Gotta buy a new treadmill. I take treadmill walks in the evening during winter to help my winter blues and cabin fever. I open the blinds on the windows and it helps me feel like I am outside. Anyway my treadmill died during the move. To repair is $400. No thanks! Going to probably buy a refurbished gym treadmill. Expensive but they last a good 10 years. Tired of buying cheapo treadmills that only last 3 or 4 years!

Been awhile since I've posted. But, I am still loving MetaShred Extreme. I'm blown away by my rips and cuts. Just what I was looking for. Every workout, I'm a little sore. Thinking I may use this for a few months. I never know for sure. Wake up one morning, looking for something else.
Lisa, I also use a treadmill in the winter. Uggh, cabin fever. Whatever gets us through the winter, right?
Not much news going on here. Taking this week as a vacation week. I'm kinda burnt out with work, and electric issues. And, today I turn on the kitchen faucet, no water. Checked down the street, because that's usually where the water people are digging. Sure enough, some action going on. Evidenly a main line break. Fix it right the first time, guys!!
That's about it for now. Will post later!! As always, make it great!

I did not answer the bell yesterday, sleep just sounded better at 5, but today I did deload shoulders and.....drum roll please...DELOAD LEGS!! I did go lighter and less sets, but kept the rep range fairly high. Shoulders was 3x10 strict press, 1x15 seated dumbbell press, 2x10 for side laterals, rear delt flys and alternate front raise and 2x20 dumbbell shrugs, For legs, 3x10 dumbbell squats, 2x10 dumbbell reverse lunges, 2x10 sumo squats, 2x20 dumbbell calf raises and 2x20 single, unweighted calf raises. Karen, I am envious of you! I feel like I am getting really chunkie in the middle, no fat anywhere else, but not happy with my torso. My workout area is just not good for floor work and bodyweight workouts and even our living area doesn't have enough open space for that kind of workout. I think you need to go back into competition and we will cheer for you on ESPN!! I don't think I have the tenacity to do what you do even if I had the right area, my deepest respect my friend! LIsa, hope you find the right DREADMILL...that is NOT a typo lol!! Be good Ladies and if that isn't possible, at least lift! Have a great last day of August!

Well, today DH and I decided "to hell with it," and went to Park City to hang out. Shopping, and a couple of breweries later, we went to Grannies in Heber City for lunch. It's just a burger joint, but the shakes are so thick, it's 4 inches above the cup. It's been around forever, since I was in high school, and still going strong. Broke my cardinal rule about sugar, so, 30 lashes for me. Will have to work out extra hard later today. Now we are on the way to the doggie wash. Canine friends need a bath. Have a great day!!

Deload arms, again lighter. 4x10 pushdowns/ 4x10 dumbbell curls, 3x8 crossbody tris/ 3x8 cocn curls, 2x15 kickbacks/ 2x8 hammer curls and finished with 50 crunches and 50 cable crunches. I dropped to 35# db's for everything and it was definitely less stressful tendon and joint wise. Next week I will try to go heavier, joints permitting, and stop treading water. Karen, not sure about blending beer and milkshakes???, but if it works it works!! I think the R&R is a great thing! Lisa, what up? Have a terrific Labor Day weekend all!

Karen, I had a sugar attack yesterday too. Tried to satisfy with homemade protein brownies. Kinda worked but the milkshake sounds better! Sounds like a real landmark diner, worth the calories. Sometimes you gotta live a little. Besides I think a treat like that every now and again is a shock that boosts the metabolism. Love that you are getting results from Meta Shred. Just in time for Fall and sweaters, lol!

Tom, you keep trucking away. Good deloads. Have a great weekend with your buddy.

Yesterday was UB. Today was leg day #2 for the week. I followed Lego Batman's advice: "I never skip leg day." Ahem, cough cough, Tom. Haha!

Grilling and chilling with the fam this weekend. Looking forward to it!

Karen or Tom, sorry for repeating this question cuz I think I asked you before, but do you either of you have a squat rack or power cage? If so what kind? We need one to complete the workout room. Want it to be big enough to store plates, have a bench, do pull ups, squats, presses
