I got someone arrested....(long)

Hello Everyone,

First let me say - thank you to everyone that has generously offered to help us do what we do. Your kindness is unbelievable!

Until I can determine if any news crews will be interested in a story on us, let me give you the following information for those interested in making a donation.

Our vet is Middletown Animal Clinic - the mailing address is 1615 Bobbeck Lane, Fairmont WV 26554. Our account number is 9766 and the account is in my name Lori Reese. ***Make sure you indicate the account number on any payment you decide to send for this.***

If you want to confirm the story - you can reach the Middletown Animal Clinic at (304) 366-6130. The best person to speak to is Donna because I have worked closest with her. The kitten's name is "Sandy".

I will do my best to put some photos of Sandy on here as soon as I can get them.

Thanks in advance for your kindness!! You guys are so incredibly wonderful.

I will continue to keep you updated...

Lori

Hi Lori,
First, GOD BLESS you for doing what you do!! I was just discussing my love of animals, particularly cats, with another member here. My husband and I also rescue strays and have them spayed/neutered, get them their shots, etc.

It makes me SICK to here of any form of animal abuse, I just don't get the kind of evil in this world. But evil deeds always come into the light and he will be judged, in this world and then in the world after!! We are responsible for God's creatures and the Lord will not overlook his kind of behavior!!

I will pray earnestly that this man get prison time, but more importantly, that he get some serious, serious, SERIOUS therapy!!!!

God bless you! Please keep us posted,
-CC

Hi Kathryn,

Sorry I didn't reply sooner - I was just going back through the posts to make sure I didn't miss anyone and I found your post.

The vet used that term, and what it made me think of was if you end up with a bruised joint? That maybe because he was kicked he was seriously bruised, but she didn't suspect any cracks or breaks in his bones.

But, we don't know for certain, and they didn't do the xrays right away because they didn't suspect breaks, but the police are demanding them as evidence in their case. I think they believe that there may be evidence of past injuries that have healed.

He was limping but it wasn't severe so I'm guessing she just meant severe bruising and soreness due to the beating he sustained.

:)

I felt the same way; I was shocked that the first news station I contacted didn't seem to want to "solicit their viewers for money". It made me feel low down! Like she thought I was trying to milk someone out of something!

Needless to say, I got off the phone with her and went to the next news station and got a more interested response - but yet, none of them have called me back yet, so it's hard to tell how this will go.

Sounds like life in my neighborhood. I keep a non-gps pre-paid cell phone charged all the time for a reason.

Great. I'm calling in the morning :)

I have updates for everyone!

First, little Sandy is crying heartily because he fasted last night for surgery today. I will let everyone know as soon as he is out of surgery.

Second, the xrays came back on the adult male cat and he has a fractured pelvis, and what's called a pneumo thorax (not sure if I spelled that right). Basically, due to trauma, he got air in his chest cavity. So the vet had to put him under, shave him, and release the air from his chest cavity. After which, he ate all of his food!

I also wanted to let you all know that if we should be so lucky as to get donations above and beyond Sandy's costs, they will be applied to the adult male's costs and other rescues.

If we should be so lucky! :)

Thanks again for all of your compassionate assistance! :)

Lori

Oh, I hate it when animals have to have surgery and they can't have food or water ahead of time! It breaks my heart to see them hungry or thirsty. I'm sure little Sandy will do absolutely fine--he's already show himself to be a pretty tough little guy. :)

I'm so glad the adult male is doing better! Are you going to keep him? Does he have a name?

I'll be sending a donation today--I can't send much but I'll send what I can. :)

Oh, Reese! I'm going to call and donate as soon as I have a moment to pick up the phone. I would LOVE the hear that this guy is behind bars. Please keep us updated!

I agree. DO NOT CANCEL STS!!!

Allison...or anyone else

I just got off the phone with Donna at the clinic/hospital, ask for her, she'll give you the info you need for the donation.
