YUMMY cereal discovery....

i have seen this at sam's. yeah the sugar kind of turned me off from buying it and i just stuck with cheerios. i may try it one day, it wasn't a bad price for such a large box. i believe it was $5 and change. which is almost what our regular food store charges for a big box of total.

Wow...that is high fiber (almost as high as my Fiber One Cereal which is 14 gms) for a regular cereal! I wonder if the company already deducted the fiber from the final tally of the sugar..... Someone can correct me if I am wrong, but I believe I read if a serving of a food contains more than or equal to 5 grams of dietary fiber, you can subtract the grams of dietary fiber from the total carbohydrate serving of that food:). Ah, fiber is good.

I've mentioned several times on this board how much I LOVE Nature's Path's products. My favorite cereal is Flax Plus and Heritage. My son and I also like thier Tarts (cereal type bar) as a treat.

Another favorite for natural foods for snacks are from Newmans Own. I love thier cookies.

LOL! I love that cereal and I also buy it at Costco. They have another one that has flax seed and I like it even more than Optimum Zen, but they rarely have it (or maybe it sells too quickly.) I also "discovered" organic golden apples at Costco. They come in individual packages which are perfect to take anywhere as a snack and they are unbelievably sweet and crunchy.

As for the sugar in the cereal I try to eat less sugar during the day, but the cereal, if I'm not mistaken, is sweetened with organic cane juice which is better than sugar so I don't worry about that too much.

Wendy,

I think I just saw this brand at our store here. But I think it's a blueberry one. I'm always looking for a new cereal ... thanks for the info! I'll have to give it a try!

Also try the Flax oatmeal. I never tasted oatmeal this good. I tried many other brands and there are just no comparisons. Simpley the best in both taste and nutrition.

I tried Costco and Trader's Joe. But the Wagaman has the most selection and the best prices. I paid $2.35 per box.

I buy them three or four boxes at a time. I go throgh them so fast. Snacks, add to yogert.. :9
