You know what rocks?

Yes, it is something, huh? That is impressive though. I bet you attract attention too. LOL! I grab all my groceries out of the cart and head out to the car with loads of bags and gallons of milk in my hand and watch people stare! LOL, but then again, I am a show off!;-)

yeah, and I love it when men offer to "help" cause they assume that a poor little woman couldn't possibly carry that  . I was buying heavy dumbells one day and the clerk ( a male) offered to help me out. I said no thanks they're for me if I can't carry them shouldn't be buying them. He was like uhhhhhh ok.

The only problem I have with the dog food is that the size of the bag makes it more difficult. But with 4 dogs, we go through a bag in 3 weeks so I get a lot of practice carrying it.

2 of my dogs are 40-45 lbs and much easier to carry than a bag of dog food :)

Oh that reminds me last year I had to carry my 85 lb Dobe into my Tahoe and out of it when he threw his back out. Cathe rocks!

Yeay Shelley! :)

We buy the 50 pound bag from costco...I am chicken to try to heave that thing myself so I make dh come w/me when it's time to buy it...I should try it though when he's there...just to see if I can do it!}( }( }(

Catherine,

I am about to do the same thing next friday as I need some 40# db's. LOL! I look forward to these moments. I am a sick woman!

Yeah, Shelley!

It does...I love it when before the high school boy can ask if "you need some help ma'm?" I've got every dang heavy load in my arms and am on my way. And when I grocery shop for my gang, I always exit the store one arm pushing an extremely overloaded 2-tier cart and one arm pulling an identical one behind me. Even better when the dear retired gentleman asks if he can help me out.:)

Ain't too bad for a skinny old woman.

I love being fit and strong.

Wendy,

I love Costco!!!! They have the best salsa. I don't like the peachy kind though. They have this cheese from France that is aged a year and it is the best!!! Don't remember the name...tried the sample and just tore into it when I got home and ate them with my grapes. Mostly all the produce is very fresh. Ever try Mellaces Cinnamon Almonds?(not sure I spelled that right)Yum! They are to die for! O.k., I got to stop. Sorry, didn't mean to highjack this thread about food! LOL!

Gotta love that!!!

My boss at work will roll those large water bottles down the hallway at work instead of carrying them. When I pick them up and carry them they tell me that I'll hurt myself. I just tell them "Hey, I lifted much more weight than this already this morning." Shuts them up pretty fast:p

I used to carry those water bottles at work too Wendy! }(

One of the gals would put it on an office chair and roll it to the cooler....wimpy girl! LOL ;)

I like being able to sling a 50 lb sack of horse feed over my shoulder as I open the gate and push two hungry horses back.

I also like very much knowing that I can lift, move, or do whatever around the house without calling for help, since I live alone.

I hear all you ladies. I feel the same way about the 40 lbs bags of kitty litter. But it annoyes me when a male store employee walks past and doesn't offer to help. I think it's only polite.

I forgot to mention. Last week I picked up some bottled water (24 pack) and held it up for the cashier so she could scan it underneath. Well she then just took the water from my hands and tried to hold it the same way herself and she seemed surprised she couldn't hold it the same way and she ended up dropping it down right away. It really isn't heavy, I guess I made it look much lighter though. O.k., I am done bragging. LOL!

I used to work for a veterinarian years ago and one of my duties was to stock the shelves in the retail side of the office. Pet foods were delivered to the office basement and I would have to lug those bags up a flight of stairs. Oh yeah, weight lifting definitely serves a useful purpose!

Michele

Yep I agree. I"m also the only woman in my office that can change the water jugs on the cooler. I was 9-months preggo and still doing it. Very sad b/c I don't think the jugs are heavy at all.

We have a wood pellet stove and when my DH and I unload the bags from his truck (40lb bags) I can carry 2 at a time.

Weight training rocks!

I also love when buying the big dog food bags. People look at me like I am crazy holding that bag. One lady was like would you like a cart for that after I had been in line for about 5 minutes and I said no I am fine. Then my son Justin said My Mommy is strong:) I loved it.
