Hello, Cathe - I hope you get to read this.

I just posted on the Open Discussion with my yearly plug for the ladies (and gents) to do their monthly Breast Self Exam. As a breast cancer survivor I can't emphasize enough the inmportance of early detection.

I was diagnosed at Stage III - not exactly early detection! I was only a month away from my 38th birthday.

It will be a wonderful day indeed when the oncologists of the world are unemployed and have to close their practices and take up gardening...

Until then, Cathe and crew...and all SNM employees...

Please do your BSE!!!

Regards,
Susan L.G.

Thanks for the reminder, Susan!

Unfortunately, it is sooo easy to let the SBE slip away from one's mind!

I am praying for you and your recovery! Happy thoughts!
xoxo, Denise

Hi Susan, thank you for the reminder and I'm glad you are doing much better now.

What a timely post as I just had my annual mammogram last week and was relieved to hear that everthing is fine.

The wonderful Philadelphia based practice that did my mammogram asked that I please make a public service announcement to remind women to schedule their annual mammogram check ups and not put this off. They of course couldn't stress enough how important this is to make a priority for all women who are due, and especially overdue, for their annual mammograms. I think their reminder along with Susan's reminder for self checks cannot be stressed enough.

If you have not already made your appointment AND done your daily self check, please do it now.....(or I'll make you do Imax 3 ten times in a row }( )

Keep fit, stay strong, and be healthy!

A group of women that participated in the Breast Cancer 3 day walk which benefits breast cancer research and education programs came up with their own logo to fight breast cancer with humor.
Their t-shirts had two baseballs where the breasts would be with the phrase "Save 2nd Base" underneath. They wrote that breast cancer can take away our breasts, hair, health and energy, but it won't take away our humor.
Do your self breast exams and get your mammograms.
