Morning gang!

Today:
Shape it Up (slim series) Upper + Amplify Your Strength (Spreen) non weighted functional fitness…. TONS of yoga in this one!

:::::Cheryl:::::
GREAT weekday run! I think running has saved me from many crazy times in my life… It must be the freedom. When I look back on any “crisis” I recall a long run as part of my healing process and/or the way to get my brain working towards solutions. DH says Golf does the same for him. Great timing for DD’s camp! You couldn’t have planned that better…. I bet she’s sharing her story in hopes of gaining some “moms over-reacting” strength but I think she’ll probably get words of wisdom…. Why is it that we are so open to those thoughts when strangers tell us? Relax this week and I bet your DD returns with a new perspective. I still think its funny about and your little X-Wives Club! LOL

::::TeddyGirl::::
Way to get those abs done girl! When you get focused you are unstoppable!

:::::::::TracyX::::::::::
I noted your MIS/HSC combo- I’m always looking for ways to combine weight work! Thanks !!! OH GOSH NO! Dh & I don’t share any space in my office! Since we have no kids our 4 bedroom house is really Master, Guest, My office + HIS office! LOLOL – We’d be divorced for sure!! When he started his company 6 years ago the team all officed out of home so he actually has a professional spread in his… He still works from home once in awhile or I’d take it over for sure! I just have the “leftovers” from the marriage merge. Your vacation is much closer than line… I am 8 weeks away… We try and wait til kiddies/families are back in school before we head off for a getaway! DH is actually going on a 5 day fishing trips with one of his buddies to Port Isabel… It’s a itty bitty fishing community that’s about 5 minutes from Corpus Christi 9I thinks its Corpus)…. They drive it (about 6-7 hours) and pull their boats and fish sun up to sun down. He leaves next week Wednesday.

:::::Nicole:::::
Hope the little ones are all OK this morning! I know the youngest probably got scared too!

Need more coffee! BB to see how everyone is today!

Hi all,

Today is MIS legs, a run, and yoga.

Traci - You can see I just stick to Cathe with my workouts. I just can't find anything that really does it for me except her stuff. Especially the weight work. We are headed to Vermont next week, and NC the following weekend. Should be fun. Lots of camping and exploring.

Tracy

Good Morning! I guess my sleep-a-thon worked because I have had energy to burn the last couple of days! Only in the mornings, of course! Yesterday morning I swept the floors and vaccuumed the floors, but was NOT in the mood to haul all the junk out to scrub the floors, so I decided that I was going to "spot" scrub the kitchen. Well, it turned out that I just decided to do the whole thing on my hands and knees with those Clorox wipes! Needless to say it needed it and I was much happier with the results than I usually am after using the mop method! It was awfully hard on the knees, though!

Afterward, I broke out the weights and had a great upper body workout. I am still using Cathe, though, as a warm-up, then switch to music to actually workout. Yesterday was the following:

Standing BB rows- #60 10x3, #70 10x1
Incline bench press- #60 10x4
One arm DM rows- #25 10x2, #30 10X2
DB flyes- #20 10x1, #15 10x3
DB bicep curls- #15 10x4
Tricep dips 10x4
Straight arm lat pull-downs- 10x4
stability ball push ups- 10x4
hammer curls- #20 10x2, #15 10x2
prone tricep kick-backs(using stability ball)- #10 10x4
BB overhead press- #30 10x4
Stability ball crunches

Today's menu is HIIT on my elliptical.

Nicole- I am so sorry to hear about the 'bump in the night'!!! Don't forget that not being able to remember the trauma is a coping mechanism for the brain, it's normal. Typically when you see on TV about people who remember everything about their head injury, it's NOT true because if they really had one, they'd not remember it! DH had a concussion after his most recent car accident and was nauseated when he got up, it's common. I am glad to hear that he's doing okay, though!

Wendy- I had to LOL and say to myself, "not bloody likely" when you said that you hoped the smalls worked! I will never be a "small" when it comes to clothes. Right now, though, I am between a L and an XL in some clothes and a M and a L in others! I am working towards fitting into M! That's the smallest I have or ever will be! I'm just too big-boned.....you'll see in a few weeks!;-)

Cheryl- I was able to find some other super-cute capri/cargos at Paiva.com and later ordered them (after DH got back). I think that they were the Paiva brand....$19.99. I'm with you, I just can't bring myself to pay full price for ANYTHING!!! That extra code you mentioned was awesome, too!!! I hope that they fit for the RT!!!

Tracy- How's the AC working??? I hear you about Cathe! Even though I'm doing lots of freestyle stuff, I just can't get completely away from her! I NEED my dose of Cathe!:7

Traci- Since when have you been a proponent of NOT ordering anything!:7 :p You Queen of Internet shopping!;-) So you guys are heading for fishing on your vacation? Can you believe that we've been friends for a year??? I remember when you guys went on your vacations last year! Wow!!!

Swift-Amy- Congratulations on making it this far! I would probably be graduating myself from P90X if I could have stood to make it through! I just couldn't.....I'm a P90X drop-out!!!;-) :7

Nicole, Debra, TG, Sandra, Jeanette.....everyone else that I missed, I hope that you have a great day! I have to go re-new my CPR certification this afternoon, so I don't know when I'll get back. Next month is ACLS re-cert (ugh)!!! Oh, the things you have to keep up with in the Medical field! YUCK! More and more paperwork!

Good morning,

Last night I did some Shiva Rea's Fluid Power yoga: the manadala namaskar I, and the standing poses flow. Felt so good.

This morning is supposed to be Cardio Kicks. I've developed a head cold (sore throat, sticky sinuses, and tired), so CK sounds as appealing as taking a mud bath. But I'll give it a whirl and see how it goes. It's not one of my favourite Cathe's, for sure.

TraciX - You've set yourself a tough goal regarding the BF%. I don't think I've ever in my life been so low. But that's partially genetics, I imagine. I thought I read years ago that when a woman's BF drops below 18%, her cycle can become disrupted (amenorehea). Anyhow, you're a smart, educated woman and I trust that you know what you're doing. I think my BF is somewhere around 22%, according to the Omron tester at my grocery store, and I kind of like it here. Except for the belly jiggle, but that's going away these days, too.

TracyX - MIS was never a favourite of mine, and I haven't done it in aaaaaages. I think if I'm ever to use it again, I shall have to do it as you are - in combo with a more fun workout. Some kids just don't like to read, no matter what you put in front of them. I'm sure you already know that. My DD#1 is a bookworm. I'm also babysitting another 7 year old girl for the first 2 weeks of July, and she loves to read, too. Between the two of them, they're having a hoot going to the library together and picking out the same books. Then they read them and talk about them the next day. Yesterday I made them each choose one non-fiction book as well, so maybe they'll learn something this summer. Do you enjoy running after a leg workout? Aren't your legs too tired?

WendyX - I just love writing WendyX!!!!

NicoleX - I just love writing NicoleX!!!! I'm soooo sorry about your son's bop from the bunk!!!!!! How is he today?

LaurieXX - I just love writing LaurieXX!!!!

Cheryl - My graciousness, the complex home life you have! Work must seem like a blessed escape.

Well, I'd better go get this workout done. The coffee and the cough syrup have kicked in and I'm feeling a bit more energetic. This morning is Grocery Shopping morning, then I'm taking the kids to McDonald's for lunch (shhhh, it's a surprise). In the afternoon I have to bake a cake for the decorating course I'm taking on Friday nights this month, and the kids are going to make a snack of cherry tomatoes stuffed with cottage cheese & sunflower seeds (they "cook" something once a week as part of my summer plans). Last week they made ice cream, which was fun.

Hello to the Rest of the Gang (Amy, Swift Amy, JeanetteX, Annointed One)!!!!
SandraX

Amy: I almost pooped in me pants :+ when I read your stats. Girlfriend, you get a A+++++++++ this morning;) Nice work. You are getting strong, I mean strong like bull:7 Awesome workout Amy. You made me want to step my game up a bit, thank you:)

Anointed~

Hi all,

Amy - Kudos on doing the floor. I've finally sort of tricked DH into mopping the kitchen floor. It's all tile, and he has this elaborate way of mopping which I refuse to do, so he does it himself (hot water rinse, let the soap sit, mop, repeat the hot water rinse...). Suits me just fine. I do mop my workout area, once. It's in the basement and we put the dogs down there while we are gone. It needs a good mopping about every 10 days. Just too much dog hair. Your workout looked good and challenging. I'm trying to go heavy for upper too because I'll be away off and on for the next month and will only be able to do light stuff while I'm gone.

Sandra - Sorry you are not feeling well. I haven't been getting as much sleep and I know if it was the winter I'd be sick. Sounds like you should be running a high end day camp for kids with all of your plans and activities. Yes, running after a leg workout is tough, but its part of the plan to build up the legs. It works.

Hi to all who follow.

Tracy

Shape it Up (slim series) Upper+ Abs: Completed…
REALLY FUN using SS this way…
Why didn’t I think of it before…probably because its not chaptered- gotta use the FF finger! Anyway…
It has toasted me real good! Since I’ll be using this series for awhile I used the 5 & 7’s that Debbie uses – each week will increase just a tad if I feel so inclined but gotta tell ya the 5&7’s were quite challenging. The exercises/reps are very much like squeeze upper so it’s no easy task. She does standing Upper & Abs + floor then back up you go for one more burn. Total time 44 minutes My HR average was 74% so that good for fat burn too. LOVED it!
Amplify Your Strength (Spreen) non weighted functional fitness is next! Yippee!!

::::TeddyGirl::::
:eek: GREAT AM workout! You go girl!!! We gotta catch up with Amy don’t we?

:::::::::TracyX::::::::::
:eek: Vermont sounds heavenly! I am so happy you’ll get a much needed work break. I agree with Sandra- you are doing MIS the ONLY way I can ever get thru it. Stay creative- it helps all of us.

:::::Amy:::::
:eek: I’m with TeddyGirl! WOW on your weights! Yes- you have upped your game this month! Awesome!!! I was thinking about our 1-yr anniversary too the other day! Time just flys doesn’t it? I’m not going on the fishing vacation- just DH and one of the guys… He and are still debating where to go/what to do on our trip in September… We have his mom booked to watch pups but with Sandy’s health + his moms’ age we may just head to the bay in case we need to get back to town quickly. Playing it by ear. LOL on your floor cleaning… I’ve tackled mine on knees before & its killer!
LOL on shopping…. I TRY & keep ya’ll from ordering because when you order I get the bug! I am REALLY trying to be very very good and think long term… I’ve pulled up those Nike pants 10 times in past few days and tell myself… Do you want pants or do you want to grow a business? Cash has to be designated right now. I guess I will live vicariously thru you & Cheryl & Wendy shopping for R/t!

:::::SandraX:::::
:eek: Oh gosh my dear I am sorry you are on drugs today! Summer colds are just a pita aren’t they? Good for you for getting a w/o in anyway! I must tell you that I love hearing about the summer activities you do with the girls. You are a WONDERFUL mom! Hope this next cake turns out just perfectly. Congrats on belly jiggle disappearing! LOTS of good stuff in your life right now it seems. CK/mud ROFL

Hugs to all who follow
:eek: :7

Sandra - I forgot to comment, I just love those flows from Shiva. Have you tried the backbend flow that is 14 minutes? It is such a nice complement. She has outdone herself with that dvd. It is so innovative.

Morning Ladies,

Rotation: Cathe's July 07
Workout: Wk1/Day 3/B&G Leg Blast Premix and StretchX

We won yesterday in volleyball. The wind helped us quite a bit. If we got the ball high enough in the air, the wind turned the direction that the ball was going in. :D Had a great time again with Cathe yesterday. I felt really good that I could do all the push-ups on the decline, and the wide ones on my toes. :)

Update on Jada (our possible new dog), we will be having a home visit next week. I just have to call at the end of the week to set up a time. Otherwise it sounds like she will be ours after that inspection. :) I hope we all like each other. :D

Traci, LOL about the shrinking away to nothing, that is what usually happens to most people that participate in the faire. It is called the Bristol diet. Mostly because people are more active, and eat less that they usually do on weekends. :) And yes I am very happy to be working out with Cathe, I think I needed a change of pace really bad. ;-) I need to get the Amplify You Strength, sounds like a good sub for Core Syn.

Amy, I always love how my floors look after a really good scrubbing, now I just have to get my DD's not to trash the floor right after I do clean it. Nice workout yesterday.

Nicole, How is you DS today? Bunk beds are great space savers, but with little ones they can be dangerous. My youngest DD was running around on the top bunk and missed turning. Landed in a toy box, and went to the hospital to get stitches in her head. :) Not something I want to go through again.

Sandra, Take care of yourself. Hope that CK is a good workout. That ones isn't as fun for me either. Haven't done that one in quite a while.

Tracy, Great workout for today, sounds like quite a few are doing leg work today. The area you are going to on vacation sounds really nice.

Wendy, Had to LOL at the Plyo jumping man on crack. He bugs me too. Who in their right mind would want to jump that high anyway. Well maybe that would help in my volleyball.. I won't be missing Dreya either. Or that girl in Back & Biceps, she was always laughing. :7 :7 LOL about the cult also.

Swifty, Thanks for the congrats, and you are not far behind either. Keep up the good work.

Have a great Day!

Laurie

Nicole: How is your son doing today?:)

Cheryl: I missed you:) Great job on your run yesterday, as a matter of fact, I wiped the dusk off my TM yesterday, decided too run a few days this week, needing to slim my thighs down, dog gone things are out of control 'AGAIN' lolx( :7

Jeanette: Where are you? I hope you are having a blast:)

Anionted~

Good Morning Ladies!

This work week is half finished!:)

I spun and picked ME. Since I've never done ME, I previewed it instead and did PYFH instead. I thought yoga would be better for this water weight. Thankfully, the weight is coming back down!!! So, should I do ME for today? Or should I do a SS cardio like TM walking? I'm not doing anything until my sinus headache goes away. I woke up at 5 this morning with my head pounding! It's still here. Hopefully, another dose of Sudafed and Advil will end the pain.

Cheryl: Church camp does wonders for children. Your dd should be having a great time!!! DD got a flyer in the mail from the Franklin Institute for a spy camp. I was all for it until I saw it was overnight. Usually they only have day camps. I doubt we'll let her go since I have no desire to chaperone. LOL

Tracy-X: How's your forearm today? It was probably a good decision to forgo yoga. Your upper body got a awesome workout yesterday! I'm thinking of buying the Iron Woody Bands for assisted pull-ups. I plan on adding push/pull-up circuits to my rotation once I decide on a rotation.:7 Yes, I will have to mentally prepare myself for bloat the next time I get on a bike. Even though my legs were bigger, they did look more defined and better. Weird huh. I'm with you about kitchen decluttering. If that was the case, I wouldn't have anything!!! And, there's no way I'm throwing out my 6 quart Kitchen Aid mixer!!! I can see where having a messy kitchen or, in my case, no kitchen can make it difficult to maintain weight. Take out isn't the healthiest of foods!!! Ooooo, you're going to Vermont! It's beautiful there! Pick up some maple syrup!!!!:9

Nicole: How's your ds doing? How scary that he didn't remember. Isn't it fun being a mother to three boys?}( They sure do keep you on your toes!!! My middle ds was the one to always scare me. I couldn't let him out of my sight for his first 5 years!!! The child has no fear!!! My boys have fallen off the top bunk. Thankfully, they never got knocked out from it. No, instead they used to get injuries from play wrestling each other and trying stunts on their bikes. Whatcha gonna do? OTOH, my girls are much more reserved and cautious.

Swifty: So nice to see you post. Don't worry about not being able to post. Life is hard enough! Shoot! The X is hard enough!:7 We accept you!:) Now, I do see you ride. What bike would you recommend for a casual rider? I don't want a comfort bike considering all the hills. But, I don't want thin road tires either. LOL about your dh discussion! It reminds me of my ex. The one thing we didn't have a problem with was time management. That's cuz I'd rather not hear him nag!}( We wrote everything that needed done in a notebook. By the end of our marriage, that was our only real communication. He worked nights and I went to college during the day. I would write down what I did and what he needed to do. After our divorce, the counselor thought we worked great together! LOL:7

Traci-X: Good for you! Getting rid of books is so hard for me!!! I love the musty smell of tons of books! I should have been a librarian! I've gotta do DM and B&G before the RT. Those were Phil's bd presents. ;-) I wish you were able to go to the RT too!! Too bad all of us Xers couldn't go. Why do you think I keep pushing to have our own RT at Debra's house!:7 Maybe, we could all meet up at Cathe's gym for the weekend instead! We could recreate our own little RT full of Xers who love Cathe!:) Oh!!! I NEED to get myself an Xer tank. Please link! I'll wear it on the RT and think of you all!!!

Amy: I can't wait to meet you on the RT! I might be small boned, but I doubt I'm as muscular and fit as you!!!!!!! Hence the reason, I banned shorts from my wardrobe 5 years ago! The two pair I bought over the weekend could be classified as capris!:7 I sometimes shop the clearance racks at Bloomingdales. The saleslady refers to me as the lady who loves long skirts. She was always trying to get me to reveal some skin. LOL If she could see me now, posting pics in a workout bra, she would be so proud!}( Yippee! You're getting recertified! I promise to use lots of mouthwash on the RT just in case you need to revive me!:p :7 ;-) Oh! Shush! Who cares that you're a X-drop-out. You're still young. You can still do it if you ever desire. I would have never done it if I didn't have Phil during the first couple of phases and this check-in pulling me through. When and if you ever decide to do it again, we'll be here cheering you on!:) OMW! Guess what! I taught my dd how to clean the tiles floors using disinfecting wipes! LOLOLOLOL OH! Guess what! Ds decided to join the Army as a diver!!! He'll be living in Panama City Beach for 26 weeks during Phase 2 of his training!!! I'm counting on you to be his adoptive mother during this time. I'm all for corporal punishment if he should get outta line!}( :7 ;-)

Sergeant Sandra!!!! Check you out! Using those foreign words: manadala namaskar!! I still haven't figured out what namaste means!:7 Have you ever taken a mud bath? Anthony Bourdain did on one of his travel trips. He makes me laugh so hard!!!! I think CK would be more appealing.:) I'm not sure what my bodyfat is these days. A few years ago, I was told by the lady at Curves that it was 19%. I have my doubts as to the validity of her calculations. I was 107 pounds, but I was a certified couch potato! My weight once got down to 100 pounds my first semester in college. Apparently, my bf% was enough for me to conceive ds #2.}( Well, aren't you the Mother of the Year!!! Today's plan includes organizing the school room and making the girls practice their instruments. I've been pretty lazy this summer!!! Have fun decorating, shopping, eating at Micadees, and cooking with the kids!!!

Oh! I gotta go! Ds has to go sign some paperwork. HI to all who follows!

BBS!
Ballistic Hugs to ALL!
Wendy

Hi, everyone!

Laurie, hurray on the volleyball!! And double hurray on the impending visit with your new dog!! enjoy the Leg Blast }(

Traci, what a fun way to use SS! Glad you enjoyed your workout.

Amy, omigosh! You are a wonder, girl. And so excited you found the cute capris. Those will be fun for the RT, roomie!

Sandra, sorry you're not feeling the best. Good luck with that CK. Not my favorite either.

Wendy, ME sounds great for today. I just can't wait to meet you, girlfriend!

Today is the Leaner Legs I didn't get to yesterday plus CTX All Step and Step and Intervals. Woo hoo!

Traci, on the X-club comment - I was kind of laughing to myself yesterday. She had called to ask strategy advice on the next phase of her court proceeding. I was thinking to myself that I could set up a second consulting business for the purpose of giving out advice to his subsequent ex's :7 :7 :+ Naughty thought.

I am counting the days and hours until SD is OUT OF HERE. That should be 11 days from today. THANK HEAVENS.

Have a great day, everyone!
Cheryl

Wendy X
Busy day for our gal! Great workout to get you back in the swing.... Glad water weight is decreasing... I cant recall where we got our tanks dear.... I hope someone else can recall. SORRY! Thats data I use & dump:D

Amplify Your Strength (Spreen) non weighted functional fitness:
Very nice workout… Some Ballet drills, lots of yoga in “drill” format- Lots of planks- tabletop strengthening moves. Moves quickly and as ALWAYS cuing is superb! Although I felt challenged in the workout I ended feeling very much stretched out. Of course her ending stretch sequence is always really good too.

Off to see the real world and get errands done… tonights date night so gotta eat CLEAN today.

Great Day to All!

Traci-X!!! Eureka! I have found it!:7 :7 :7 I had to go all the way back to my Day 1 post and cycle through all the old posts to find Lea's post with the tank top link. I can't believe it I did P104X!!!!!!:7 :7 :7 :7 I thought for sure it was P125X!!!!}(

Anyhow... here's the link for Swifty and Nicole. Maybe we should order the t-shirts together if it saves us $$. Off I go to find out how much and colors.

Oh my goodness! I just lost my whole post and it was loooong!!! This has never happened to me and now I'm out of time:( Just a little update: DS is doing much better this morning but still complaining about a headache off and on. I'm sure that's normal but I will keep an eye on him. Thanks to each one of you for your concern. I'll try personals again when I get home. Such a bummer!!!!

I'm back and more than a little frustrated! I went to renew my CPR and they said that I wasn't allowed to because I hadn't received my last one from that hospital! WTH! Does one hospital teach it better than the next? No! It's all American Red Cross! Anyway, now I have to switch my schedule around for work because I am taking CPR and ACLS together on the 20/21 of July (sorry Traci!)

Oh, well!

Hi all,

I ended up doing MIS, then MM leg premix, 20 minutes on the eliptical, and 60 minutes of Shiva. The eliptical after the leg workout was miserable. Obviously I didn't run, I just didn't feel like it. I'm just miserable because I missed TTOM last month. I sure hope it comes at some point. I feel like I'm in hormone limbo.

Nicole - Sorry about the post. I hate it because it takes a while to construct a post, then Poof! Gone! Glad DS is feeling a little better. It might take a few days before his is completely back to normal.

Amy - OK, so I though logic had only gone out the window in education. I guess it has in the medical profession too. That's a scary thought. It's so hard to stay cool when stuff like that happens. I'm off to the DMV for the 5th time tomorrow to tag a truck that DH bought for his business. Wish me luck. That's a minimum of 1.5 hours and no guarantee.

Cheryl - I hope everything settles down. I always swore I'd never get married again if this doesn't work. I just couldn't deal with it.

Off to make dinner and celebrate the fact that tomorrow is my last day of work for 5 weeks. I can't wait.

Tracy
