Morning Gals!
Hope everyone’s weekend is going just as you had planned….

Last Nite: Shiva Shakti Basic Flow (42m)- ahhhhhhhhhhhh GREAT hip openers for me after a few days of stepping.

Today is:
PUB & ME. : Chest Tricep Back
Christy Taylor Totally Hot Cardio (Maybe if I feel like cardio)
Yoga/ More Mark Blanchard I think ProgressivePowerYoga

DebraX:
ROFL! THE CUCUMBER!!! LOLOLOL…. I only have Sandy this weekend so all I have to protect is the protein! My boys are the ones that LOVE fruits & veggies… you should hear them whimper when I say apple… Not my Sandy girl… She’s a meat & potatoes girl! Polly is much more dignified for sure!!
Oh I’d love some rocks too! A few years back I tried & tried to get DH to spend $$ on rocks for my landscaping… He said he absolutely refused to spend good $$ on ROCKS! Lol! I used to go find big ones on the beach at our bay house and make him haul them back…. I got bored before DH caved! One battle for the men!

:-( Missing Sandra X, Jeanette X & Wendy......

Hi to all sleeping Xers (except Amy whos hard at work!)

Hi all,

Last night I did 60 minutes of Fluid Power yoga. I just love that one. It is so effective. I know I say this often, but Shiva has a way of sequencing poses that always makes me be able to go deeper into the poses by the end. More so than any other instructor.

I'm still deciding about today, it will either be a bike ride or GS legs, and then yoga. It is so hot here, mid 90s and I'll have to ride in the heat of the day, so I'm thinking maybe not. I hate being out when the sun is at it's peak; sunscreen or not.

Traci - What rotation are you following? I thought you mentioned a Cathe one, but that doesn't look like something she would do! When is your next bike ride? Maybe that could be a goal, to be able to easily ride your bike for a certain amount of time. That would help to get the BF down. My DS always suggested that my problem with working out was no goal. Now I try to be very goal oriented and I must admit, it has helped me to keep from being stagnated. Sometimes I think that it is easy to just get into a rut of yep, workout is done. The short shopping was not so good. I had two gift cards, which I spent, but I probably wouldn't have bought anything if I hadn't had them. The shorts are picked over and all of the small sizes were gone. I went to the junior department and to my shock, say size 17 juniors. No offense to anyone, but size 17 junior? I guess that is to cater to the overweight teenage girls who still want to look like teens, which I first hand, know too much about. My son's GF is at least 100lbs overweight. I know that she shops at the big persons store. I understand the difficulty with being young and overweight. It's so hard to watch her get pizza with extra cheese, which she had last night. She is just not ready to make a committment to change her life, and until something drastic happens, I don't think that she will. She's had a very difficult relationship with her mother, and I'm sure that food is one way that she coped with it. Glad you got some help with your mother in law. My DHs family and him too, are the fly by the seat of your pants types too. I just hate it. I'm a planner and the last minute decisions never set well with me.

I hope everyone has a great day.

Tracy

Morning TracyX!
Hope you have a great leg day whatever you choose! I agree about Shiva sequences... she is a gem.
I just came in from sweeping garage and I am drenched... outside activities & this crazy humidity are making me become an indoor summer person real fast! I think the dangers of overdoing things with outside activities is just too great for me to risk it... For instance... I can only run 1/2 my time before getting too fatigued- if I push I am exhausted for 48 hours which is counterproductive. My bike riding is limited to "at dawn" or not at all - my rides are 100% pending each day based on rain or no rain. I am "loosely" doing Cathe Nov 06 rotation... defining loosely as being- using her new series heavily - She does have PUB in week 4- I dont want to do all circuits right now tho as I dont want to lose too much muscle mass as I am slimming down. I am doing the following generic:
Day 1: Plyo + Floor work
Day 2: Upper split
Day 3: Lower Weights + Leg Drills
Day 4: Upper Split
Day 5: Kick + Floor work
Day 6: Functional Training
Day 7: Complete Upper (using liter weights like Slim Series)
Day 8: Recovery
Days 1, 3, 5 added work is short - like 20 minutes
My Functional training is pretty much Core Syn, Core Cardios of Tony/Debbie Sievers, Spreen, Staehle
I'll add in running & biking on days weather permits or crank up the old TM :7 I'm really trying to keep cardio to 30 minute segments everyday and of course Yoga in the evening is working very well into my schedule right now. With the exception of a few I just find it hard to follow Cathe rotations as written... mainly from the perspective of too high impact, too much step for my knees & thighs & just too much cardio in general.... I can go back and look at my body stats & see how quickly I lose muscle thru excess cardio- I wish I were blessed with Cathe's body type but it just isnt gonna happen so I am really trying to be ultra sensitive to what my body likes/needs vs what I like doing.

My niece who's preg has been obese most of her life.... She is now realizing how awful it is as her body & blood sugar is all over the place with the pregnancy....very sad

have a great Sunday!!

Good morning ladies! It is definitely a yoga day for me today. I am feeling pretty fatigued after my rock moving fest yesterday. Legs are still sore from MM plus of course, moving rocks! I will probably do tragically hips today to loosen myself up a bit. As far as the rest of my day goes...I am planning on working inside today and actually opening up a few boxes. I really got sidetracked doing the work outside...and I need to focus! Also it is going to be nasty hot here again today..so I should stay inside as much as possible. I really have to make myself out a things to do list too. I have just been jumping around like a flea.

Tonight I have a typical Southern covered dish dinner to attend with my mom and her Sunday school class...although I can't remember the last time my mom actually went to Sunday school. But she still goes to all of the functions. I will be making squash casserole. Hope it turns out okay.

Traci...I guess I didn't realize the boys were back at the bay this weekend. Hope you and sweet Sandy are having a restful time. Good luck with PUB and ME today. Keeping your MIL in my thoughts, too. Hope all goes well with her procedure tomorrow.

Tracy....How is your FIL?? Have you guys worked out a plan for his care? Stay out of the heat today woman! It's pretty hot to go out running at peak times today. I didn't know that they made 17 in juniors either. Wow. My DD has the hardest time with clothes since she is 6 all the clothes are made to fit a height instead of a weight...so buying pants is a real challenge. We have to buy slims and even then we have to cinch up the waist a bit. So sad about your DS's GF. It always bothers me to see someone so young with that kind of weight problem. I was never as fit then as I am now, but I wasn't overweight either...I just didn't exercise as I should.

Happy Sunday to all who follow...and try to stay cool!
Debra

Good Morning, gang!

Last night wasn't too busy, but just enough to keep me entertained (lol).

My glutes and hammies are starting to tell me that they were worked last night! I also called a co-worker who lives down the road from me to meet me outside her house at 4:15 tonight and walk with me. It will be nice to be able to 'stride' it out!

I hope that everyone has a good day and I will see you all later (I peruse the thread at work, but don't dare post yet)

Hugs,

My you gals are chatty this morning. I wish I were a little more east so I could keep up with the early morning chats. Had a "discussion" with DH late last night so I am whooped this morning. I am glad it's a rest day:)

Traci-X, Glad you're getting an all "girls" weekend. I like your loose rotation. I think at this point they are all sounding fun:) I am borderline on ordering Cathe's new DVD's. I think I am more interested in the quality and set than in the type of workout. I guess we'll see.

Tracy, You must be going stir crazy not to be out riding or running. It has been pretty humid here as well and I only go outside if I have to, I am an absolute wimp when it comes to the heat and humidity. Something I need to take into account when we move away from this money pit:) Wow, that must be hard for you to watch your son deal with that. I often hear people say you should love them for who they are not what they look like, but I disagree. When I was heavier I was not the person I am when I am thin. I was iriitable and horribly unhappy. I am much easier to love when I am happy with myself and that for me means being thinner.

Debra, LOL "tragically hips" :) I hope your DOMS don't get too bad. Is it nice to have them again after a long hiatus? I'm glad Polly had fun with the cucumber even though I'm sure it will be sadly missed in your next salad.

Amy, Good morning! Glad you could pop in and say hello!

Hi to all who follow: Wendy, Cheryl, Jeanette, Laurie, SandraX, I hope I didn't forget anyone:)

Morning:)

I survived ;) all my family headed home early this morning, what a time we had. Now, I need a few days to regroup. Our two day festival was awesome, we feed over 500 people mainly kids. It was at Jamison High school my brothers look foward to this event every year in remembrance of my mother. Saturday we started off with a 5 mile walk then at noon started grilling hamburgers and hotdogs at the playground we played music all night long. It was a perfect day.

I just finished Strike Zone;) Now I'm off to NY and Company with my sister and grocery store back home to get ready for work tomorrow. I'm going to be in bed before 7pm I'm tired. Have a great day all :) :)

Hi all,

Amy - Glad you are feeling the impact of your workout. It is always good to know that something is happening.

Traci - Did you think about adding another lower weight day instead of the functional fitness day? I think that there is probably some benefit to working those large muscles twice a week. If you tend to bulk up, add more cardio or go lighter. You will still be building lean muscle mass. I agree with going overboard as being counter productive. I like to feel that I'm fatigued, but not so much that I can't workout the next day. I don't like a lot of DOMS. I do think that layering on the workouts improves fitness overall. Once I take a day or two rest, then I see the benefits that I've been working towards. The only thing that I can say about more cardio, is that if you are sticking to what has been working for you for a long time, you may not get the shock that you need to decrease the BF. JMO. I don't think that floorwork and leg drills do much for burning BF, at least they don't for me and that's why I really (subconsciously)don't like them.

Debra - Thanks for asking. FIL is the same, but maybe Dh has come to the realization that he can't stay here. He and his brother, still refuse to get any help and so they are spending every spare minute taking care of FIL. My SIL is beside herself, and I'm just like WTF. If they want to sacrafice every vacation and thing with the kids/family because they can't get a nurse to come sit with FIL, then that is their choice. BIL didn't go on vacation this week so he could stay with FIL.

Nicole - Late night huh? I hope you catch up on your rest:)

Annointed - We don't even have 500 relatives, but I forgot, you have so many siblings. That must be kind of fun. I'm an only child, so I would have no idea.

Back to mop the floor in my workout area, then do GS legs. It's too hot to go out, I'll have to rethink my cario for this week.

Tracy

Tracy: How are you doing? other than being tired I'm good:) Not all relatives, it was a community thing, this was my brothers 4th year of this event. Enjoy GS legs :7 :7

Hi, everyone! Wow, a lot going on for a Sunday -
I did MIC (everything but cooldown - 65 min) plus standing work in B&G, 31 minutes. Would have liked to have done all of B&G, but hit my limit. This will have to be enough.

Traci, hurray for PUB and ME - two great choices. Woo hoo!

Tracy, sounds like a good yoga choice. I agree on the bike ride - probably better to stay out of the heat.

Debra, enjoy the yoga and the unpacking (oh, joy) Will be glad to get it out of the way, I'm sure.

Amy, the walk sounds great - and hopefully by 4:15 you won't be facing quite so much heat. We can hope. Have fun at work (right, yeah!) x( I ordered the Nike Funky Vibe cargo pants Cathe wears in the blog from Paiva yesterday. $39 plus a discount code posted on the Cathe thread. Heh, heh - got to have nice workout duds for the RT. I can hardly wait, roomie!

Nicole, aaagh, those late night discussions can be draining, even if they end well... I hope you catch up on rest today, my dear -

Annointed, wow, what a week you've had! Glad the festivities are over, and enjoy your shopping today.

On to get ready for Church - and then dinner - will make whole wheat pasta today with choice of spagetti or mushroom sauce. Easy. Yayy!

Have a great afternoon, everyone!

Cheryl

:7

Cheryl: hey you :) :) MIC just typing it makes me shake in me pants:) :) good for you, you are a brave solider to do MIC. Have a great day

TraciX: this cracked me up:7 What's up girlfriend, No I havent dumped you guys, never. I'm still trying to play catch up. But, me doing okay my friend, getting ready to leave for a bit, What rotation are you doing?

Amy: I'm here:) back to chat later. I tell you today is the first time since getting my internet I have enjoyed chatting with you guys.

ONE MORE DAY of the X!!!!!!!!!!!!!:7 :7 :7 :7 :7 :7

I just got in a little bit ago. Cheryl, I ordered the Nike Pants from Paiva too!!!:7 Don't worry. I don't plan on wearing them on the RT as I'm sure everyone probably will look better in theirs than I will in mine.:D

I got to State College a little after midnight. I went ahead and got CS out of the way before I went to sleep at 4 in the morning. Woke up around 9:00 and went on a bike ride with my friend, ds (middle child) and eldest dd. We rode into town for ice cream. Thankfully, I'm lactose intolerant. I only got water. I went to bed at 6 and didn't wake up till 6 today!}(

This morning, I woke up early :7 and went for another ride around 8:00. Came back and did PYFH (the 90 minute one). LOVED IT! I found it to be easier than Tony with more stretching and more relaxing.

Over the weekend, I stopped at a bike shop. The salesperson suggested the Giant Sedona. I'm not too keen about the twist shifters. They didn't sell Fishers or Treks. So, I plan on going to the local bike shop and check those out too.

I thought of all of y'all while driving home. Hope y'all didn't mind me praying for each and every one of you while driving.

Came back to tiled kitchen floors!:) :) :) :) So, I've gotta go and smother Phil with :* :* :* :* :* :* :* :*, as soon as he finishes installing the dead bolt on the kitchen door.;-) Sounds like he's almost done.:)

Sweet Dreams to ALL!!!:)
