Xers` Who LOVE Fridays!

Quick Question:

If I decide to ask for the Hardcore Series as a birthday present (not till August, thinking ahead), should I ask for the bundle? Is Hardcore Extreme worth $10.00? LOL I just realized the answer!

Got the dvds today!!!! :) :) :) Of course, I had to try out LIC without any risers. Gotta strengthen that left knee first. LOVED IT! I did the cardio premix since CST is scheduled for tonight. Someone better hold me back from doing Doubles! Who am I kidding? I won't be able to incoporate 3 additional cardio 3x's a week when I can barely pump out the classic rotation!

Nicole~~~
What a day! Congrats on the new neice! After having three boys, I love little girls!!! At least, I love my quiet, normally well behaved, less energy draining dds. ;-)

I can't believe your dad was attacked! What is this world coming to attacking the elderly. I hope his hip heals quick. I'll be keeping him in my prayers! Good for him fighting back! Was it a couple of punks trying to steal his money or vehicle?

A couple of 20 somethings from the other side of town broke into my dh's work van over the summer. It wasn't hard for them since dh used to leave his doors unlocked.

Anyhow, I was getting ready for bed and asked Phil if he could retrieve my water bottle. After he said yes, I told him it was in my car. LOL He goes to get it and notices the interior light in his van is on and there's two guys rooting through his van. Next thing I hear from up in my bed is Phil yelling, "WTF are you doing in my van!" Followed by thudding sounds on the pavement. I jump outta bed and yell to my oldest downstairs to go outside and help dh. By the time ds and I get outside, I see Phil crossing the road panting. The kids split up in different directions and got away. He wasn't X worthy yet. ;-)

Dh gets to the other side of the road and a truck comes to shrieking halt behind him. Next thing I know, Phil jumps into the back of this stranger's truck, points, and shouts, "That way!" Here, these kids tried breaking into someone else's car and set off the alarm. While this man was inspecting the damage to his locked car, he heard Phil screaming his WTF comment. He instantly knew what was going on. So, his finace armed with one of those bright spot lights gets into the truck with him to search for the vandals.

Meanwhile, I'm on the phone with the police dispatcher relaying everything in the moment. My heart is beating out my chest. By now, oldest ds gets his sneakers on and goes running in the direction of the truck.

Not a moment later, I hear shouts and the police car comes to a halt in front of my house. I point out the direction they went. And start walking towards the direction myself.

But, let me back up... So, girl is shining the spot light on people's lawns looking for one of the theives. Phil turns around and sees the kid trying to run into another yard. He and the guy jump out of the car. The other guy, who was also in his 20's, gets to the kid first and tackles him onto the ground. The fiance, who I must say is well equipped with lighting, hands Phil a flashlight and gets back into the truck were she feels safe. So, Phil holds the flashlight while the guy starts beating up the thief. That's when the police pulled up.

I'm telling you this all happened so fast. The police station is just down the road, and they found the guy about 5 houses down the road. Well, this kid was a PUNK. I get there and the punk is sitting in the back of the police car. He was yelling about being beat up and kicking and cursing. I looked at him and told him to he had a potty mouth! LOL So, the policeman sees this and tells the punk to shut up or he'll hand him over to the other guy and Phil while he drives around town for ten minutes. LOLOLOL

Okay, here's the killer. They only had pocket change and some nuts and bolts on them from Phil's van. Phil has a ton of change in his van. But, all that drama for what? Pocket change and maybe a worthless radio? They weren't smart enough to know how to steal the van.

Anyhoo, what exactly happened to your dad? I want details!!! LOL

Oh! And be careful with knives! OUCH!

Wendy:
OF COURSE you need the bundle!}( LOL – Actually you don’t really NEED HCE but for 10 bucks….
LOL on LIC! I think that’s a terrific one too! I really like the premixes on that and the music. I have a feeling you will indeed find a way to sneak in a few doubles!
WHAT A STORY about the coin thief! MY GOSH does Phil not realize that crazy people carry guns & knives???
OK- not impressed with Sky Lab line! Too funny you posted that… I just watched last weekend the WORKOUT that has her freaking out because of the wrong samples!

SANDRA X
Ok Sarge- I want 40 Dreya Rolls for going AWOL… Or is it “get Ups” by Ripa? Whatever they are- drop lady! }(
Hope you enjoyed Step Works! I like all of the old step.
Good for you spending extra DD time outdoors!

OK – all caught up again- gotta go get ready for Season Finales of Ghost Whisperer and Close to Home! My hot Friday night in the big city!
:7 :7

Hi all,

Today was CTX power circuit, 20 minutes on the bike, and Tone. I actually physically felt good, although mentally it was a struggle to get started. I had to go to the funeral today, sit in Friday traffic, and then Costco. By the time I got home, I was done, but I forced myself to workout and I’m glad I did. My legs are starting to tighten up again.

$200 later the fridge is fixed. My DH was furious because he had figured out that it was probably the compressor switch, but when he called the woman said it was under warranty, so we had the service guy come out. Well, everything except the switch was under warrenty.

After looking on video fitness I read that Altars of the Heart is a very popular yoga dvd, so I bought it today. I think that the guy is actually from VA.

Laurie – I look at my knees when I’m in down dog and I almost want to cry. Where did all of that skin come from? I am destined to get uglier and uglier knees, my Mom has them. Do they do knee lifts?

Debra – I hope that you enjoyed the bike ride. My stationary bike seat is the most uncomfortable seat ever. If I had some padded shorts, I just might wear them.

Swifty – Sorry about the wrist/hand. When doing the x, that is an awful injury to contend with. I feel your pain.

Cheryl – Glad you are with us. Yes, Traci is the resident motivator. We are so glad to have her.

Teddygirl – What are you eating? I know you are not around on the weekend, but if you really want to see what your legs look like, stop doing leg work for a week to 10 days and drink lots of water. I’m sure they’ll go down.

Wendy – Reason 599 why not to eat junk food, i.e. frosted flakes for dinner; no energy to workout the next day. The mood swings and mind cluttered with tidbits of cra* that I couldn’t get past, plus irritability are what led me to go on an elimination diet to begin with. I started my diet with just a few food items that I knew were safe like chicken, rice, potatoes, and a few vegetables and I made sure that I was symptom free for about 2-4 weeks. Then I added items in and watched for a reaction. I’m not sure that you can just eliminate something and get a true result, because there is some interaction among offensive food items. My mom is on a histamine restricted diet and it starts just like what I described; with a few safe foods, then you can start to add others in. Phil is lucky the guys didn’t have a gun. I wouldn’t have done that around here; too many crazies.

Jeanette – So you like Gin Miller? I had one of her dvds years ago and it always made my knee hurt, so I threw it in the trash.

Sandra – Thanks for inquiring about my recovery. No I am not 100% yet. The calf is still not as strong as the other one, but getting better. It’s almost like I had to retrain my leg; that’s a little scary. I think that I’ve strained something in the front of my quad by compensating for the tightness and lack of motion, so I’m working on that too. This still suc@s, but I am getting better. When I am uncomfortable it’s like a 2-3 instead of a 10 for pain. The yoga is really helping my flexibility but my shoulder has felt just a little tweeky, so I’m going easier on the vinyasas. I may be putting too much weight on the upper body.

Nicole – Sorry about your Dad. Hopefully he’s the kind that doesn’t get too freaked out about stuff like that. We don’t have a sharp knife in our house. I cut my hand every time I get a hold of one, so I just use dull ones. It’s hard to put a band aid on your finger and cook, not get blood anywhere, and keep it dry. See I’ve had lots of experience with cut fingers.

Mary – There is always room for one more. We are happy to have you.

Amy – How can you function on such little sleep? I hope you get more at some point. I’d be a basket case.

Tracy

Good evening gang!

Well, my recap is not as exciting as Wendy's story, nor as amusing at Traci's recap, but here was my day...

After waking up, we went out for breakfast, then stopped at WalMart on the way home. After getting home, we all laid down for a nap. I read for a while, then decided to try and snooze....JUST got to sleep and DH starts nibbling on gummy raspberries in a very LOUD plastic package!!! x( So, I guess that I was not destined to get much sleep today. I decided not to fight it, got up and totally brought it with Plyo X....I mean BROUGHT IT!!! My HRM said that I burned 785 calories! Then played in the yard a bit and went out for Mexican for dinner:9 . Now, I am here and will be off to bed shortly.

Teddygirl- I am sorry that I missed you. I hope that you have a great weekend! I received Xflowsion in the mail today but haven't the time to preview it yet. It looks like a very interesting yoga workout, though!

Wendy- No, no sedatives...My MIL is funny, though, she LOVES working in the yard and has the best time playing when they come because she finds all sorts of landscaping projects to keep her busy. Just tonight a neighbor came over and introduced himself and the started chatting....well, it looks like he's going to put in our sprinkler system for $900 (it's a corner lot and the lowest estimate we could get was nothing less that $3000!). She is also going to go to a landscaping place up the road and inquire about a small plot on the side of the house that I'd like rocked in. She said that she planned on buying us new furniture when they came this trip, but now she's changed her mind and is going to buy us landscaping! I know that it's all because she feels guilty because we live so far away and she spends more money on her other kids/grandkids than us (we don't ask for any of it, though). I am glad that Phil was okay and that they were able to catch up with the would-be thieves safely!!!

SandraX- My in-laws are going to be here for only 6 days...which was why I took vacation time. They actually get a kick out of watching me workout. So, no change in them. Actually, I felt like I had to do better because I had an audience! My mom would sit and knit while I worked out, but dad wouldn't stay and watch...or I should say "couldn't".

Tracy- Yes, they do do knee tuck/lifts and I would also be in line for one of those eventually. Mine is because of losing weight....they look okay when I am standing or sitting, but in the down-dog....they look like elephant knees!!!x( I am okay on a few hours of sleep for that first day, but the second day is when I'm the basket case!!!

Nicole- Holy cow!! I am glad that your dad was able to defend himself! I hope that his hip heals fast! I sometimes wonder if I would be able to defend myself in the event of being attacked (with kickboxing moves). Oh, much congratulations on the new niece!!! I am sure that she's a beauty!!! I hope that you take care of your finger!!! I slice of the tip of my thumb several years ago while making dinner for my mom and dad. I was slicing lemons on a mandoline and it caught and slipped and off when the tip of my thumb!!! I still don't have feeling there! At work, I am really good at starting IV's and couldn't start one for 3 months because I couldn't bend my finger (I sliced on top of the knuckle too!)

Mary- Welcome, welcome!!! Oh, Traci, another one pulled in by our 'tractor beam'!!!}( See above post from Traci for a very accurate and thorough synopsis of the characters that dwell here!!!

TraciX- Last, but not least!!! Wow, a size 4! I am duly impressed!! I am working for my size 10 if I can keep my face out of the trough!!!x( Thank you for the very amusing synopsis!! Oh, I love Ghost Whisperer, but have to record it because I usually am working on Friday nights. I couldn't record or watch it because FIL was watching the news on CNN. I will have to catch in on a re-run!

Okay, I think that I am finished competing with Wendy and Traci here, so I will say good night and sweet dreams to all you fair ladies!!!

Evening,

Busy day at work today, but a good one. Took a little snooze tonite on the couch. Felt good. Will be leaving in the morning for a 3 hour drive to the triathlon place near Sacramento, CA. I'll be riding the bike course (25 miles) for practice. The actual tri is the 20th of May. If anyone is interested, here's the link to it. We will be doing a team for the Int'l distance: www.auburntriathlon.com. The gal who's driving tomorrow just came down with a cold (she's our swimmer). Hope I don't catch the cold too. Sending good vibes out to myself. Maybe I'll pop some Zicam or Airborne.

Debra, so you are enjoying your holiday? LOL! Glad you like the bike shorts. I remember when I first started riding, I liked really padded shorts. Now I can't stand them as they cause me lots of chafing. I like a minimal pad. Everyone is different for sure. Another must have for long rides for me is my Camelbak. I love that almost as much as my mirror. I stash lots of stuff in mine, like hand sanitizer, TP, money, aspirin, power bars, gels, mini-tool, tampon, etc. The guys give me a hard time when I pack all that stuff but I like having it. When I do hill climbs or time trials, I don't wear it as I try to shed the weight.

Hi Laurie, what is Ugly Betty? I have big knees too. I'd sure like to have lipo on those babies, right on the insides of my knee/leg. A nice knee lift would be helpful and while they are at it, an elbow lift. I'm with you on the triathlon thing and swimming. I tried one last fall and floundered big time in the swim, just about had to be rescued and came back to shore and proceeded with the bike and swim. Guess that's why they make duathlons, which are run-bike-run, or sometimes you'll see a kayak paddle in place of the swim. I think adventure racing on a team would be fun. Hope your DD is as good as ours was in high school, she never gave us any problems and is a great mom now too.

Cheryl, what rotation of the X are you doing? I got good results doing the Classic, adding in some cycling a few times a week. Can't wait till you start up.

Teddygirl, another pair of shoes? Clear shoes? Can you post a link to them? Do you like running? I tried a couple years ago and enjoyed going out with DH. When I'd run by myself, I'd think of mtn. lions prowling around our area. Scared myself. Wasn't scared if DH was with me. Are you going to get Xflowsion?

Wendy, glad you got the rest day in. How many a week are you taking? As many as needed probably, as much as you go and go. Must be so tough for Waverly and her headaches. Please give her a hug for me. You reminded me that I need to pick up something for my Mom. Boy, time is slipping by. I should have gone into town tonite and done that instead of taking a snooze. I am fully aware that Traci really wants that CC recipe, like she's saying "no, no", but really means "yes, yes". OT is good, except that my DH is tired and really wants to be able to get to some stuff around the house here. Usually, when he gets home from work, that's as far as he's paced himself to go. Me, I have all kinds of stuff (usually) that I know I have to do so mentally am ready for it. Of course, I sit at a desk job (as he reminds me) so my job is not nearly as demanding as his. SHEESH! I looked at the Sky Lab link, but the stuff that came up was not anything that I'd pay that much for. I just ordered from and received a pair of shorts and 3 sports bras from Champion. Had never ordered from them before. I'm starting to get a collection of workout clothes. Walmart may never be good enough for me any more. Got any other sites to recommend for workout clothes? Reasonably priced preferably. Glad you liked LIC. I did the upper body work (2X) of it yesterday and I am sore today in my upper back, probably from the band work. Nice workout.

Traci, no cheesecake on these fingers, yet. That will be in a couple more weeks as DS's birthday is on the 26th. I'm telling you, it had better be as good as she claims because I've been having visions dancing in my head. I'm glad I'm going to do the metric distance on the Memorial Day bike ride, sure took a load off my mind, wondering how I was going to get more miles in to get ready for it. Guess we just can't do it all. I get so irritated with the Netflix DVD's. Maybe I need to get another cleaner for my DVD player. It's enough to make me cancel my Netflix subscription. Wonder how long I committed to it? Oh yeah, AWESOME on the size 4 jeans! Did you take measurements at the 30 day point yet? Re: Gin Miller, can you recommend any others? I have a couple of strength ones that I previewed of Debra's. Need to see where they'll fit in. OOOOhhh, you did my favorite - Butts & Guts!!! Have I told you how much I like that one? Probably a million times already.

Sandra, glad you got to enjoy the morning weather. Hopefully, no more snow!!! I tried on the T and it fits just fine. I got a small and I usually wear a small. Glad you enjoyed your nap. Won't hurt us to miss a workout, I'm sure you get plenty of movement in in a day. I don't feel so groggy on my rest days if I can just keep moving, housework, yardwork. Just plain resting tends to make me more tired.

Nicole, congrats on the new baby! How exciting for them! What a nice size too. So sorry about your dad. Hope he is okay. Makes me just furious that punks do those kinds of things. I sure hope they get theirs. I work in a prison and don't have a lot of sympathy for trash like that. Your poor finger, I tell you cuts on the fingers really hurt. Hope it heals quickly. I like riding with my girlfriends, but also will ride with the fellas too. LOL re: nose and toes! Oh well, at least I have toes. You know, come to think of it, when I cut down my carbs, my legs started slimming down. I've been measuring them and they are still going down, little by little. I've stayed leaner by only having one carb serving a day (except for my cheating potato chips and cookies), usually my comfort food choice is oatmeal. I found out that I really didn't need all those carbs to fuel my workouts, though they taste good. How was the chiro appointment? Doing any good for your back? Hope so. Keep us posted, okay?

Hi Mary! Welcome to this crazy checkin! I wanted to click on your Picture Trail just now, but that would be the kiss of death to this long post. I finally figured out that's how I would lose posts. I'll check it when I get done here. Which rotation are you doing? Tell us a little something about yourself too.

Tracy, nice workout today. I like anything from CTX, such a great DVD set. Think it was one of the first ones I owned and am still amazed at how they still kick my butt. Tracy, you aren't the only one with loose knee skin. I've also got the loose elbow skin. Gravity is really pulling on our bodies. I'd love a knee tuck and an elbow tuck. Even worse when I look at my stomach when I'm doing pushups, everything hangs.

Amy, way to bring it for PlyoX!!! What a rock star you are!!! 785 calories??? Wow!!! I'd probably be lucky to burn 300 in a Cardio Coach workout! Sounds like you are having a really good time with your IL's.

Must get ready for bed. Big day tomorrow.

Jeanette
