Now that I know I won’t have another week ahead of pointless cravings and fatigue I can persevere. We do sound like wimpy wimps at times don’t we? When you suggested Tracy X drive somewhere to get coffee I shook my head and said- Well DS Sandra X OBVIOUSLY has no java addiction! LOL on essay! You busted me so I didn’t post yesterday! When did you learn to transport yourself to Texas on a whim? AH- LIS- One of my all time favs of Cathes- A perfect workout in my book. I think you are just goofy in love with C&B because you are in Phase 3! I was sooooo happy to cross that off my list for awhile. Horse neigh??? ROFL- I’ve never noticed it! Thanks for putting the fun back in Boot X Camp for me – You’re the best !

Lea X:::
I think you’re messin’ with me… What was your “oops” post about last night???? Did I miss something>

Tracy X:::
About your weather / global warming…. Are you catching any of the new series on Discovery Channel- Planet Earth. They re-play it throughout the week… I think there are 11 of them. VERY COOL stuff regardless of belief/interest in global warming… It is an up-close look at all these remote places on earth and the survival of the animal kingdom… Very interesting look at what most of us will never see and also talks about survival of these animals… many are affected by environmental changes that have been occurring.
http://dsc.discovery.com/convergence/planet-earth/planet-earth.html?dcitc=w99-502-ah-1007/

Well- Kids are getting restless as its breakfast time- Have a great morning and I'll pop back when I can!

Hi all,

Traci - Up at the crack of dawn again. It's miserable what tricks the AF hormones play on our minds isn't it? If I'm on top of my mental game, sometimes the realistic voice in my head can over come the hormonal one, but that doesn't always work.

Private Sandra - I believe that most of us, if we are honest, come from some sort of dysfunctional family. I sure would hate to air some of my shi***! I was raised on the "never quite good enough" mentality. That does some weird stuff to your brain....

You are on the road to conquering and overcoming because you completely realize what you are up against. Being a sociology major don't you study culture? I am a firm believer that the culture of a family is deeply engrained in our psyche. If it contains a lot of traditions and rituals that are unhealthy or undesirable, then you have to work extra hard to overcome them because you were "raised" on that culture; it's all you know. Soon you will be promoted to Sergeant and then Colonel and the General or whatever of your domain. Isn't that what it is all about?

Jeanette - I just skimmed Traci's post, but compliments on the arms? That is wonderful. I'm so glad your rotation is working.

I'll catch up with everyone else later. I have to go stretch and then get to work.

Tracy

Good Morning, campers! I have the coffee brewed and ready to pass out!

TraciX- I will have to start lurking on the Hardcore check in, too!

Okay, all! The camouflage underwear are on and the pushing play will commence! (that's for Sargeant SandraX's benefit!) No self-pity here, just pur-i-ty laziness! And that's kicked to the curb this morning! Of course, after sleeping the better part of a couple of days (don't know where THAT came from!), I am up before the birds with TraciX and playing on the internet! I'm going to down some coffee then get to Legs/Back. I may try part of my new Tracey's but that's yet to be decided. I liked the sculpting one because it really doesn't use heavy weights, just lots of body weight, high repetitions.

TracyX- LOL at airing out the family sh!t closet! Mine mainly consisted that I felt that I had to compete with my brothers for my dad's acceptance. Funny thing, DH has had a few "come to Jesus" talks with my dad, especially the last couple of years and dad has changed A LOT because of them. You're right about the family thing being engrained!

Private Sandra- Keep up the good work! I totally understand about having to overcome a lifetime of horrible eating/family habits! I am still working hard at mine!

TraciX- Just curious about your BNB video...which one did you do? I was looking at Janis Saffell's website and she has 3 BNB workouts, a scult, a step, and a pilates one.

Hey Traci:

Just to answer your questions from yesterday, I am over in the No Sugar,No Fast Food check-in, mostly for the sugar part, since fast food was never my problem! Nice to hear from you too and keep up the 90X work!

Deb

Good morning!

Traci-X, no need for the shorts – I tracked the pkg. It’s at my nearest UPS station. Today should be the day!. BTW-for x-tra $$ - I worked the X-mas holiday catching and stacking boxes for UPS. I had to lift 70 lb boxes from floor to ceiling in a trailer truck. It was the most dangerous – strenuous job ever! I believe I posted on OP re: my First P90X workout.

Jeannette-I love to hear about your rides. The weather here is miserable. No outdoor riding for me until it clears. By Friday should clear up here. I do a mix of road, trail and mt. biking. Our basement looks like a bike shop. Triathlon huh? Wow! I’m impressed. Gooooo for it!

I will be reading and previewing my box of Tony for a few days. Check back with you then. I did Imax 3 this AM. Admit feelings of “scared” creeping in with arrival of P90X so near.

Okay – I’ve got to go. Have a super great day all!
:)

Because of TraciX, I need to stash the credit card in the freezer to cool off before returning it to the purse! I just ordered Janis Saffell's BNB, Gay Gaspar's new step workout, Kelly Coffey-Meyer's StepBoxing, Barry's Bootcamp, and another one that I can't remember! Oh, yeah, SQUEEZE by Tracy Effinger! Now, if you had told me 4 yrs ago that I would be addicted to Cathe's website, to working out, AND to trying new workout videos....not only would I have laughed in your face, but would have slapped you, too!

On to my date with Tony!}(

Doubles/ Phase 3/ Week 3/ Day 2: PlyoX

PlyoX! Yeah right! Won't be doing that! Got my fill of that workout in Round One. Today I was planning on doing BM2's Scrambled Eggs premix. Teddygirl brought it to my attention, and I've never done it before, so why not? It's got some high intensity, and some lower body weight work. Not a perfect sub for PlyoX, but I think I'll do DrillMax's Scrambled Cardio on Thursday, and let that take care of the plyo-type work.

LeaX - Oops right back atcha!

DebraX - sell, sell, sell it all!! How much easier will it be to move if you don't have to bring all that furniture with you? And you can buy new furniture that "fits" your new house.

Wendy - your comment about the bears was a crack up. I wish I could hibernate!! It sounds like Amy's got the technique down pat.

Katie - Isn't Shoulders and Arms just a terrific workout? I love it, too. Makes you want to wear a tank top for the rest of the day! I'm so glad to find someone else who genuinely enjoys YogaX!!! I feel like such a weirdo some times with my appreciation of that workout. I agree with you about Tony's personality in that one. My DH is doing P90, and Tony is completely different in that series. He's very respectful of the beginning level of the participants, and appears encouraging and professional. Reminds me of Cathe in that regard. I wasn't a huge fan of Legs & Back, either. In Phase 3 I did add in some short lower body Cathe work on Tuesdays, after PlyoX. I don't think it made much difference, though. I think LB probably "works" quite well, but when you're used to Cathe, it's hard to accept that that's all you need. I really like the alternation of leg work with back work. You WILL be able to do pull/chin ups, if you keep practicing! It happens, believe me. For me, half-way through the rotation I awoke one morning and just had this sense of confidence that today was the DAY that I would be able to do an unassisted chin up. And I did. Keep in mind that good chunk of doing chin/pull ups is becoming comfortable with the technique. If you have never done pull/chin ups, the feeling of using your back to lift all that weight is very strange. Check out this website for some terrific tips: http://www.stumptuous.com/cms/displayarticle.php?aid=51 Yes, to say ARX is "harsh" is a good description. But it's effective, for sure! If you want to add extra cardio, such as running, then maybe you should do the Doubles Rotation? The extra cardio starts in Phase 2, so Phase 1 of the Doubles and the Classic are identical. I suggest you stick with just what's written for Phase 1. Seriously, you won't lose any cardio capacity before then, I promise. It's amazing, really. In Phase 2 you can sub a 30-40 min steady state run for CardioX, if you like. Just a suggestion. (Or, you can do CardioX!). I hope you like KenpoX today! It's my favourite kickboxing workout, especially all the vertical punches at the very end.

Any - Geeeeeeez Louise!! How does one sleep 22 hours in a day? You must have been one whipped girl! I tried TraciX's egg/beans recipe yesterday, too, and lovvvved it. I bought more eggs and refried beans last night, because I plan on eating this more often!! Hmmm, maybe for breafast today!

Swifty - Oooooooooooooh!!!!!!!!! I've had those days when I watch the postal van go up and down the street without stopping here. When Cathe finally released those last 4 dvds, I even got a notice in my email saying it had been delivered, but no workouts arrived!! Now that was a terribly depressing day. I eventually got the workouts, but they had to be resent. Someone, somewhere in this city, has 4 "free" Cathe dvds! I'm SO glad you're going to get P90X today!!! YAY!!! Don't get nervous. Tony has a motto that is extremely motivating for me: "Just do your best....And forget the rest."

JeanetteX - Wow, nice ride yesterday! And you're going to do the cycling portion of the Tri? COOL! We'll be cheering you on, you can bet! PP gave you Chest DOMS, hm? You obviously worked it good! NICE to get an arm compliment! She's your new best friend, right? Yup, got my grocery shopping done, thank heavens. The cupboards were b.a.r.e. Couldn't believe the cost of the bill, but couponed $40 off the total, so was happy about that. Thanks for the mom compliment. You're very nice :) Your cardio for the week sounds enviably fun. Enjoy Step Blast today! I love the Fast Car song in the stretch portion.

TraciX - all that shouting from Sargeant Sandra yesterday was really for the benefit of Private Sandra. You just got caught in the crossfire. 8 days early for AF?? That explains a lot, doesn't it? I'm so glad you're past the PMS days, then. Hormones are tricky devils. Oh yes, I'm legitimately addicted to my java! If that had happened to me, I would have sent DH out at 5:15am to the closest, open Tim Horton's!! And he wouldn't dare come back without some form of caffiene in a cup! How'd you do with your essay yesterday? Did you get as much written as you'd planned?

TracyX - Yes, the problem with families is that they're comprised of people, and people are never perfect. Oh yes, I studied "the family" at some point in my past, but we don't go into the psychological impacts of that dynamic very deeply. It's more about how the concept of family is socially constructed, and it's position in the society at large. But I have dealt with my own personal issues long enough to know that my family is to blame :) Heck, just being part of a family, any kind of family, shapes who you are. I don't think it's about overcoming as much as it is about accepting and attempting to work within these parameters to bring out the best in yourself.

I think the "neigh" I mentioned in ARX is more like a blow, not a whinney. Now that I've brought it to the attention of all of you, you'll hear it next time. It's right at the start of the v-up sit ups. Don't know why it jumps out at me, but it does.

Eating went very well again yesterday. For lunch I had TraciX's egg-burrito, but I stirred it all into a large bowl of field greens, so it was more of an egg-refried bean-salsa salad. Very very yummy! Thanks Traci!

Morning Xers,

Doubles: Ph1/Wk3/Day2/Rnd2

I didn't get back on the thread yesterday, way to busy. Today I am hoping to get through PlyoX, it may be that I have to split this one up today. Oldest has to be picked up from track and youngest has to be at dance an hour later. I will be glad when summer vacation arrives. :D Of course oldest DD keeps reminding me that only two more years before she can drive!!! HELP! :D

Traci, I have been trying to get at least 3 days a week of running into my rotation. Those would all be on the weight days. Yesterday was a beautiful day here, so I went outside.

Amy, I better not go back and look at the former threads. My credit card has to take a break from shopping with DD's this weekend. :) Of the ones you have ordered I really like Barry's, as most of the ladies can attest too. :)

Swifty, You will have fun with the X, hope it arrives quickly. :)

Eating:
#1 Egg Whites, 1/2 Banana, Oatmeal
#2 Mini Shredded Wheat, Raspberries, FF Milk
#3 Salad with Chicken Breast
#4 Protien Bar
#5 Unknown as of this point, but it will be something quick.

Have to go check out posts that I missed :D ,

Laurie

Have room for another Xer????? I might not post all of the time here, but it's nice to know there are other people doing the X along w/ me!! I'm normally a Cheetah (runner) but after running my first marathon last Sept I've continually dealt w/ tendonitis & injuries. I've had great success w/ Cathe (especially the gym styles) but wanted something that my dh would do with me. So... here we are on day 3 of classic!! Today is shoulders & arms and ARX. I am unable to do a pullup yet, but I can kick butt on the pushups. I loved Chest & Back and ended up doing PlyoX twice y'day (once in the morning & then in the evening w/ my dh). I'm so proud of my dh, he made it through Plyo even though he hasn't done any real cardio in a long time (other than walking or jumping on the trampoline!). He said his whole body hurts- LOL.

Anyway, good luck to all of you & I can't to be able to post my progress pics w/ great success!! ;-)

Good morning!!!

Today is a happy day for DH and I. I wrote a checks for the payoffs on our house, our home equity loan AND the credit card today! WOOHOO! Recently, we terminated our whole life insurance policies (3 of them) that we'd had since the 80's and bought much cheaper term life insurance instead. We received all of the payoffs now and will be debt free. Need to have a party. I'll be sending the house payoff certified mail after work today. Also received word from customer support at Cathe.com to send back my damaged Imax2/Cardio & Weights DVD and they will replace it. And I have a package to pick up at the post office (not sure what it is).

Today's workout was a 45 minute premix of Step Blast (combos 2, 3 and the challenge). Good workout and just the right length for me.

Traci, so glad the aliens are gone LOL!! Also LOL re: Photoshopping my arms. I'd definitely have to have your legs as I like them much more than mine. I'm anxious to get Squeeze also! Yep, it'll be a race to see who gets it and previews it first. I'm anxious to see the throw that I ordered too. It actually has bottles of wine on it. I soooo want to go to Italy or France to cycle and drink wine and eat good food. That is my fantasy and 2 of the new pictures I got are "tuscany like". I'll try to take some pictures when I get the throw.
My eating was pretty good yesterday too. Let's do it again, okay?
Oh, I found the chips. Only had one small handful though, so not much damage done. DH was laughing at me, he knows me so well.

Tracy, yes, the arm compliment surprised me as I've never received any before. I'm not exactly all tan and such right now. I look okay from the front but definitely have the wrinkled elephant skin right above the elbows. Oh well, I'm getting to be more accepting of my body flaws. Nice to get to that point.

Amy, interesting to hear about your family views and your dad. I always felt I had to compete with my older sister who got really good grades. Still never feel the approval much from my Dad now. It's better but I'm the one who needs to deal with it. He has softened some over the years and if I bring something up in a manner that isn't so know-it-all'ish, I think he listens. He's got a lot of baggage too. Hey most of us do. Part of life I guess. I hear you on being addicted to trying out new DVD's. Who'd of thunk it?

Swifty, glad you didn't have to get out the Daisy Dukes (LOL at your Traci) and that your package will hopefully be here today. Where do you live (as in part of the country)? Don't be too impressed about the triathlon. I did or should I say I attempted my first one last September. Discovered that 6th grade for swimming was a long time ago. Didn't finish that part, just the bike and run. It was a sprint distance. 15 mile bike and 4 mile run. I hadn't even run once all year so I was a sore puppy for the next week. It was fun though. Do you do any bike events, centuries, races? What kind of road bike do you have?

Laurie, you are as busy as ever. Glad you are getting your running in. I tried it year before last but never could get that runner's high. Now maybe if I'd run with an mp3 player it would have helped. All I could think of was my knees and hips hurting with each step at the end. So glad it's not that way for you.

Sandra, glad you got your shopping in and you saved some money too. Yes, this week looks like fun workouts for me too. I haven't done Muscle Max in ages and I'll be doing the upper body premix and abs from that soon. Will be anxious to see how my body starts responding to this new rotation. So far, I'm still feeling really lean (upper body anyways). Eating is pretty boring, but I do okay with that, energy is sky high and I'm sleeping well. I still have a little bit of DOMS in my chest.

Oops, got to go take my shower.

Jeanette

P90X Doubles: Phase 1 / Week 3 / Day 3 Tue / Round 2

Shoulders & Arms completed + the abs from B&G (no ball) and Drill Max
Also decided to add in just a bit of Plyo Legs as I think I wimped a bit yesterday on PlyoX and I am NO WIMP! Also did triceps, biceps & shoulders from BM2 just for extra warmth!

:7 :7 :7 :7 :7 :7 :7 :7 :7 :7 :7 :7
Hi Jess- Feel free to hang with the tough girls whenever you’d like! Maybe someday we’ll challenge Cheetahs to a triathlon- Running, Weight Lifting and Plyos! Your family looks darling! Where are all those Start photos? If I can humiliate myself so can you! Although I think Cheetahs have slim & lean bodies!

:7 :7 :7 :7 :7 :7 :7 :7 :7 :7 :7 :7
Swifty:::
LOVE your avatar! YIPPEE on hunting down that package! Happy days are here!!!

:7 :7 :7 :7 :7 :7 :7 :7 :7 :7 :7 :7
AMY:::
ROFL about your smoking crdit card!
You are not to be trusted with a tax refund are ya? Does Dave get to spend any of it??? Didn’t know Janis had 3 versions of BNB…. Mine says…Janis Saffell Brand New Butt & more- Straight Up workout Lower Body Toner… She’s’ in a VERY provocative standing Do Me pose….LOLOL

:7 :7 :7 :7 :7 :7 :7 :7 :7 :7 :7 :7
Laurie X:::
Well your 3 days of running is certainly agreeing with you! Are you leaning out even further because of it? Split Plyo is a great idea!

:7 :7 :7 :7 :7 :7 :7 :7 :7 :7 :7 :7
Sandra X:::
You have this calorie thing down pat now girl! Awesome!!! I do think that you might have a bad DVD since you are the only Xer hearing “neigh” LOLOL- Maybe that’s YOU! Essay writing day was 5 hours = 1 paragraph! At this rate I’ll be too dang old to train anyone! Now if my topic choices included hormone influence on fitness goals I’d be all done by now! On family… Oh I do believe we all have dysfunction… Mine is off the charts and I continue to freak when I see “signs” of it all in myself… We have everything from illegal drug addictions, legal drug addictions, psychosis, alcoholism, poverty, guilt syndrome, god complex, selective memories and of course the occasional molestation thrown in for good measure.. YEP – 2000 miles hardly seems like far enough away at times. Oh well- Its who we become in spite of it all isn’t it? Can you do at least ONE round of Plyo X today? I just love everyones variations on Bin Bowl… Lots of stuff to keep me free of Breakfast/Lunch boredom all week long! Thanks for sharing!!!

:7 :7 :7 :7 :7 :7 :7 :7 :7 :7 :7 :7
Tracy X:::
Hope your world levels out a bit today- You deserve a nice warm sunny day don’t you?

Happy Day to all

Classic/Phase 1/Round 1/ Week 1/Day 6

Just finished Legs and Back. Wow! I am not much of a leg workout person, no real reason...just don't like working the legs. Anyway, I really liked this one because of all the different exercises and the fact that you don't repeat any of the legs ones! I like that!

I also tried the first 30 min step workout of Tracey's new video. It took me a bit to get the hang of some of the step sequences, but because she repeats them so often, by the end of the workout I had them down. It was fun, too! The last combo was cut off a bit right before the cool down, but I don't think that I missed much.

I forgot who asked about the avatar kitty...that's my boy, Jellibean (aka, Beaner). He's my luv bug!!! I have 2 other kitties, Ambush (a huge silver Garfield) and Baby (the terror!)

Off to shower and head out for errands. Later, gaters!

Good morning gals!! Last night I did ARX and Chest and Back. UGH! Today is suppose to be plyoX but to be honest, I will probably sub a Cathe cardio for it. Who knows, maybe by the end of the day, I will want to do Plyo.

Sounds as if everyone is busy busy. I know I am so sucking on the personals and I am sorry for that. I will try to catch up when I can.

I am starting to receive your money, thanks. Wendy, if you still need the link let me know. Tracy, I still need to email you, I will try to remember today.

Ok, off to take DS #1 to school. He is going on a field trip today and my DH is going with him. How fun!!

Lea

Phase 1/ Week 3/ Day ?Kenpo/ Round 1/ closer to getting an X

Hi Ladies!

Anyone's parents call them yesterday? My mom was watching the news about Virgina Tech and thought of me since I went to college for engineering. (I never completed my degree and don't plan on it.) She had to call and see how I was doing. My heart goes out to all the innocent victim's parents and relatives.

I've been busy as a bee! Too busy for yoga. Maybe, I'll fit it in this afternoon. Did L&B and ARX around 10:00 last night with dh. Looks like we'll do Kenpo late tonight since dh wants to work on kitchen when he gets home.

I'm not seeing much weight or inches lost since starting the X. I am stronger. However, I don't think I could limit myself to carbs once a day. (Jeanette) That's real committment! My weight fluctuates between 112 to 114 depending on the time of day I weigh myself. Most of the weight is located in my legs and butt.

Now onto yesterday's personals:

Traci-X: Thanks for remembering me. I'm here! Did you finish your essay? Too bad check-in posts can't count. ;-) Did you find skinny clothes for your Xer pictures? I did!!! Dh loves }( the Lululemon instructor pants and matching top ds bought for me while in NYC. I'll take the pictures during my rest week though. I washed all the sheets and blankets in my house. (That's a lot of bed clothes!!!!) I love clean sheets, especially since my dc mistake my bed for a dining room table! They like to eat candy while watching my tv. Maybe, I should send them over to Sandra's house and let her punish them. :7

Jeanette: Jealously awaiting your Squeeze dvd review. I would like to add in some type of cardio with the X to help decrease body fat. Do you recommend a brisk walk, intense cardio, intervals, Fluidity or nothing + diet? Darn it! I don't want to focus on or improve my diet! Yes, I'm wailing and throwing a temper tantrum! LOL My gf did Fitness Freak's summer rotation. I'll have to ask her if she ever finished it or if she noticed any improvement. Speaking of wearing less clothes than everyone else while riding... I knew this man who would ride nude!!! He tried to explain how he rigged up a pair of cut up shorts to some sort of a pulley system. When a car approached, the shorts would cover his intimate areas. I thought he was teasing me, but others told me he was serious. Ewwww! I didn't realize you were a grandmother! Wow! You are in awesome shape! Not your typical grandmother!

Sandra-X: What are we going to do about you! Your poor dd is going to need so much therapy when she's an adult!! Thankfully, she's not seriously hurt. Kids are resilient though. My dd did a cartwheel in the house and put her foot through one of our old window panes. She didn't even have a scratch. I do sympathize with you. I usually end up looking like a neglectful parent when dd edits reality. BTW, I want to hear more about your unassisted chin-up. Which kind? How many? Details lady!!! How's your eating going today?

Teddygirl: Ugh! A speeding ticket. I hope you didn't get any points. When was your liver biopsy? Was it today or yesterday? My days are all messed up. Hope you're doing alright!

BBL for Tracy, Debra, Lea, Katie, Amy, Swifty. Oh, I see Jeanette, Traci and Debra all posted again too. This was just yesterday's posts!! Chatty Xers!!! Need more coffee. Gotta make a DDcoffee run.

Wendy

Hi there you wonderful Xers! I am going to work those tragic hips of mine today...so think of me covered in nectar.

TraciX....Glad to see that you are feeling much better today...Darn those hormones! I, too, started today...and I don't really keep up with it....but I swear it was just ttom 2 weeks ago! Am I crazy? LOL..no, the lady who is buying the house is a bit rounder than me...but I have some old clothes that might fit her...It's funny...I was thinking today she is just kind of going to step into my life here...weird, hunh? But, I love new furniture!

TracyX...Are you close to Blacksburg? That must be all you are getting on the news there. Those pesky family dynamics can certainly get in the way of you adult life...my family is fairly normal...but DH's is a whole other story! Hope you continue to feel better.

JeanetteX...Glad you enjoyed your ride last night...I am planning on getting rid of at least some of my furniture since I don't really like it anyway! I am going to get a kitchen table that I like this time, darn it! Have fun with your Cathe rotation...I love RS! What a wonderful feeling to be completely debt free....Makes you want to go buy some new furniture....no, wait, that's me!

Swifty...UPS, UPS, UPS!!!

Amy...3 kitties! I am sure they are all wonderful puffs of fur! I don't like to do legs either..and I also enjoyed L&B...and I promise by the end of this rotation, you will be wondering why you didn't do legs more often in the past!

LeaX...Good luck to DH and the field trip...I have been around a group of those crazy kids lately...and it wore me out!

SandraX...Well...the "blow" is certainly why I didn't notice it in ARX...that is the exact noise my pooch makes! Great job with your eating the past few days...I know that the inner Sergeant will keep you in line! Have fun scrambling with Cathe today.

Jess...Welcome! We always love new people here! Congrats on embarking on the journey of the X!

Laurie...Good luck on getting plyo in with your busy day...I envy your dedication to eating properly!

Hi to Wendy, Katie, Debfer, Monica, Steph and Teddygirl. Have a great day ladies...will bbl this afternoon after DD and I take the pooch to the dog park.

Morning ladies! Well, Kenpo is completed. I enjoyed it, but after doing Cathe kickboxing and years of Tae Bo it seemed a bit easy. I have a feeling though, I'm going to feel it in my back and arms tomorrow, so that makes me happy. I am happy to say that I have some DOMS in my legs and butt from L&B yesterday. I think I'll take Traci's advice and just do the classics "as/is" and see what it does for me. At least for the entire Phase 1. I'm sure there is a rhyme to its reason.
I'm actually kind of sad that it's my rest day tomorrow.... or maybe it's that I'm just dreading having to do C&B Thursday. I have to say that all in all, I'm really enjoying these workouts. The whole purpose of buying this program was to change things up a bit and I really feel I'm getting out of it what I needed. I also must say that my clothes are fitting better already... if that's possible so soon.
On to week two!!!

Katie

Tracy: LOL You are industrious! :9 Candle heated instant coffee? Yeah, I'd say you're addicted. :D The wind was harsh here too. There were branches over the roads yesterday. How long do you spend working out? I think YogaX was the longest time I ever spent at once. And, I skipped it this week.

Debra: Sell the furniture! Can't you smell the aroma of new furniture beckoning you to NC. ;-)

Traci-X: Just read your post to Tracy and Katie about muscle burning fat and doing the X without subs or extra cardio. Okay, I'm motivated to stay the course for the moment. That can always change!

Katie: I'm surprised you didn't like Legs and Back as much as the other workouts. I find L&B to be one of the easier for me to do workouts. Maybe that's why I like it!

Swift Amy (thought it sounded cute): I can't believe your X hasn't shown up yet! You are one patient woman. ~~~Sending delivery vibes your way~~~~

Amy: Turn off the infomercial and Run! Run like the wind! I'm sure bender ball abs is a great workout, but you need to finish the X with the rest of us! ;-)

Sandra-X: Sargeant-X: Please don't hurt me. Private-X: Could you slip some meds into the Sargeant's coffee? She's scaring me! Sargeant/Private/Whoever you are ;-) : What? Move? Why do you think we're renovating the kitchen! We want top dollar the day we put this place on the market. Um, err, thanks for the "pep" talk. I don't like recovery weeks, but you have to do them and can't sub. LOL I think I can deal with Tony; he's a man. But, if Sargeant-X shows up to take away my Cathe's, I'll have to jump into the hole in my kitchen floor! :7

Never noticed the horse neigh in ARX at the start of V sit-ups. I'll have to listen for it.

Jeanette: That'll be awesome to participate in a triathlon in CA. I want to see pictures when you get back! Will you be training any differently now? Congrats with the arm compliment. They must have been nicely swollen after your Push/Pull w/o. I didn't know your dd homeschools. I always wonder if people think I'm strange when they hear that I do. Now, I don't have to wonder about you. Well, that's not entirely true. I'm sure I give you enough reasons to think strangely of me! LOL Thanks for reassuring me that my kids will appreciate my efforts later. I cringe when I think of all the stupid things I said and did when I was ds's age and wished someone with more maturity would have rescued me from my foolish self! Thankfully, I have all you X-graduates to rescue me from subbing and changing! :)

Well, that finishes up yesterday's posts. Off to read today's chatter.

BBS,
Wendy

Hi all,

Yesterday I did the best matrix from Shiva. I hope that I can remember what I choose and do it again today. It made me feel sooo good. If it wasn’t for the yoga, I think that I really would have been going nuts through all of this. My flexibility has increased so much since I’ve been doing yoga EVERY day.

I was talking to a friend at work and she went to the same orthopedic doctor that I went to. Now I should have known that if you can get an appointment fast, they are probably no good, but I was desperate at the time. Plus I figured as long as I got some drugs that would help until I could get an appointment with someone better. Well anyways, she had a stress fracture and he suggested that she put it in a walking cast. That is not what you are supposed to do, because it causes the muscles to atrophy. She says that it has never been the same since. Plus, a woman that worked in a school that we both previously worked at, had a malpractice lawsuit against the guy. You just never know…………..I’m so glad that I am a sort of educated consumer.

Katie – We all had the discussion of kenpo being easy. If you really concentrate on your form and engage your core you get a good workout. It’s just different from Cathe; less cardio more sculpting.

Wendy – X police here. You should not skip the yoga. It is put in to help continue to build upper body strength and flexibility. The tragedy at Tech is more difficult to comprehend. Living in VA, it really hits home as many students end up going to college there. I' spending closer to two hours a day working out; only because I'm doing an hour of yoga everyday.

Debra – I don’t want to jinx it, but sounds like you will be moving on. Have you found a place in NC yet? The back is getting better slowly, and thanks for asking.

Amy – Is the Tracey step workout worth buying? What would you equate it to? I’m so leery any more of buying new stuff. You have ordered a bunch of dvds. You should be having some fun!

Traci – I just read your workout. Are you sure less is not more? What about your bike. Have you considered getting it out for a shock to your system? Yes, I do watch planet earth and lots of other nature shows. The family loves them too, so it is nice to have something to do together.

Jess – We always have room for another, Xer or not. I couldn’t do a pull/chin up either at first, but it does improve with time.

Jeanette – Congratulations on paying off all of the debt. We were almost debt free until we bought the property, but it is an investment and hopefully part of our retirement. I cringe some months when money is tight and I have to make that payment though. We weren’t saving much money, so it is the only way for us. You should go for the triatholon. They will be lucky to have you on their team.

Sandra – I’m glad you are getting back on track with the eating. No funny kid stories today? Did you like scrambled eggs? I haven’t tried that one yet. Yes, I do believe that you have to accept yourself before anything else will fall into place.

Swifty – No dvds yet? I hate waiting. Can you track it with UPS?

Lea – I hope all is well.

Laurie – I long for the day that I can run again. Soon I hope. Sounds like you are doing well with the doubles.

BBL, I have to get back to work. Sorry if I missed anyone.

Tracy

Hi, while I was in the bathroom nearest to the driveway I heard what sounded like a truck engine.

I ran outside checking the front, side and garage doors. NO pkg.x(

I must have been hallucinating!

Hey- I had my heart rate up for 4 minutes.:7

UPS tracker says it's in the nearest town. But no activity since yesterday. Maybe tomorrow.:p

Got off the phone with the salon. I'm taking my twins in for a short haircut on Friday morning. They should have at least a good 10 inches to donate to locks of love. I'll be sure to take before and after pictures.

My tri's and bi's are sore today! I tried doing unassisted chin-ups in L&B. I still can't get my bottom heavy self to do them. I was able to move the chair further away. Progress! :) Of course, I kicked Phil's butt during wall squats and tiptoe lunges. He's pushing himself nonetheless.

Swift Amy: I notice if I don't preview my post first, my post has a chance of getting lost. About time that package gets delivered! It's sooo close now. Don't worry about a thing. Look, honey. I can't even begin to do IMAX3. If I can do the X, ANYONE can!!!! My Day 1 arms might look strong, but they are oh so NOT! Have you decided which day will be your rest day?

Debfer: Are you still doing the X? Where are you? You don't have to do personals, just send in your report. ;-)

Traci-X: LOL on asking Debra if her buyer wears the same sized clothes! Oh! I had an open and honest encounter last night at the grocery store. The store was EMPTY of customers, probably because of the nasty wind and rain. So, I wasn't all to concerned how I placed my shopping cart in the isle. While I was waiting to place my deli order, a miserable, sour faced woman tripped into my shopping cart which was located at one end of the salad bar and deli counter. I sincerely say sorry while moving my cart over towards the deli counter. While she's walking towards the salad bar, she had the NERVE to inform me, "You were in MY way." Well, gf HAD to go there while I'm starving and PMS'ing it, didn't she! I bob my head and shoulders towards her and not so sincerely huff, "WELL! I hope that's the worst thing that's happened to YOU all day!" As if this store is SOOOOO CROWDED!!! And, I retract my sincere apology!" Thankfully, she didn't push me anymore and quickly ran away. Lord, help me! I need to learn to be loving and forgiving. But, it's sooo hard!!!

Amy: Camouflage undies? I thought we were to go commando! This is the X you know!! :7 Did you add on to L&B? LOL about becoming a videofitnessphile. (Is that even a word?) I'm content with using the workouts I own. I spend like crazy when it comes to looking like I spend money on a ton of workouts. Lululemon anyone?

Laurie!!! Hey there stranger! A couple of years before she's ready for her drivers license... You should be scared, very scared! Nah, I'm only teasing and thinking of my own dc and my own driving experience. I'm sure she'll be a SAFE driver and a big help to you!

Sandra-X: Plyo? YES! I love me my PLYO! But, I do have a ? When I first did Plyo, no problem. The second week, I had to take breaks. I think it was because I ate half of tuna sandwich 30 minutes prior. Then this past week, I couldn't do all of the exercises 100%, like the rock star jumps. I just laughed at Tony's double time knee jumps! Anyhow, why oh why is this getting harder and not easier? Hmmm? Could it be that muscle is heavier than fat? LOL I figured out why I don't hear a blow or whinney during ARX. It's because I'm too busy shouting, "I hate (fill in the blank)!" Phil laughs because I say that right before EVERY exercise!!!! And, I mean it too! Today's menu looks so healthy and filling. I should just use you guy's menu instead of trying to reinvent the wheel. That way if I fail, it'll be y'alls fault. ;-)

Jeanette: Let Freedom Ring! That is WONDERFUL news! Phil and I are working towards debt-free living. We have a small car payment, mortgage and my student loan. We stay away from credit cards and use our Visa/debit card instead. We'd love to sell our house and buy another one in a cheaper area since our house value increased over 100%. I ALREADY have the perfect party for you! Remember, you're hosting the first Xers get together. Don't forget! :)

Jess: Welcome to the BEST check-in. People don't like me saying that though. I have no idea why? LOL Are you crazy? Plyo TWICE! Wow! I was already in awe of you before, re: ARX. Your progress pics will look amazing if you keep this up! Did you take Day 1 pics of you and your dh? I jumped the gun and posted our Day 1 pictures already. Dh and I have no choice but to work hard now! Hope to read more about your X-adventures with dh.

Lea: I'll PM you with my request for a link and then later for the actual order. Don't concern yourself with personals if you don't have the time. I know I feel guilty when I don't. Really, I'm just jealous that I can't chat with everyone! When I don't have time to read, I wonder what y'all are doing and saying behind my back. LOL

Debra: Am I missing something? Tragic hips and nectar? Why should I envision you covered in nectar? Are you trying to tell us something? }( And, if so, what? LOL

Well, I've gotta get some things done around here. I have to order dd a new string for her harp. How is she ever going to get into a good conservatory if she can't practice! Then I've gotta make some papaya salad, soak the sticky rice for a sweet sticky rice/coconut/banana/black bean desert (don't want to hear it!), and make spicy chicken salad before dh comes home and claims the kitchen.

Have a great day!
Wendy
