Xers ~~~ Tuesday ~~~

Oh gang....... M*O*M*M*Y
Plyo was challenging enough today but my jog/run was just dismal. OUCHA!!!!! 20 minutes I lasted at a walk/jog pace before my quads cramped, pain in left breast???, HR wouldnt go below 170! How can I be THIS out of shape with all the dang cardio & weights I've done consistently for 2 years?????? I am scratching my head and getting mentally ready for the challenge I have before me.... I SHALL RUN AGAIN!
THANK GOD tomorrow is a no cardio day Just Shoulders & Arms + Abs.
Power Yoga DVD came so I'll have that for Hips & Yoga X at bay Friday.
Here's the elephant I've eaten so far today.... I think I'll take a pass on dinner...

Hi Xers,

Looks like you all are going full tilt with the X again.

Traci - I know that a high resting HR is a sign of overtraining, which could have caused the high working HR.

Welcome to the new people. This is a motivating group. Traci keeps us in line:)

I went to the PC physician yesterday and she gave me a muscle relaxer. But my back started spasming really bad yesterday afternoon and I could not get away from the pain. I decided to go to an orthopedic dr today. He gave me steriods, pain meds, and a good muscle relaxer. He said that I probably have something wrong with a disc which presses on the sciatic nerve and causes the pain down the leg. I have to go get an MRI. According to the internet, about 90% of disc injuries heal OK. It is getting better and I can go without pain meds as long as I have the muscle relaxer. This su$*s.

Thanks for all or the comments and well wishes. I'll have to catch up on personals tomorrow.

Tracy

Tracy - I am glad that you are getting it taken care of. Sorry that you have to go through all of this. :(.

OK gang. One more egg white recipe I have found. I might actually try this one tomorrow.

Breakfast Burrito

Ingredients:
4 egg whites
1 low-fat, whole-grain tortilla
2 tbsp fresh chives, chopped
1/2 cup nonfat refried beans
1/4 cup salsa

Instructions:
Scramble egg whites. Warm the tortilla. Spread remaining ingredients on tortilla. Roll and serve.

Calories per serving: 245/Fat: 2g/Carbs 44g/Protein 17g

That's it. I am done!!!! Enjoy

Both of the Tracy/i's need a group hug. Gather round everyone: (((((((Tracy & Traci))))))))

TraciX - Oh dear, I'm sorry your run turned out so terrible. CardioX is not as intense as a run, so perhaps it was the wrong kind of cardio to add to your PlyoX day? Please don't let it ruin your whole day. Remember....you did PlyoX!!! That's a feat in itself! Another thought: were you hydrated enough? Your fatigue and your hunger is your body's way of trying to tell you something, so please be sure to listen. Maybe you didn't eat enough calories yesterday or today to fuel two high cardio workouts?

TracyX - Oh my (sigh). This all sounds much more serious than over- used muscles. I sincerely hope you get some relief from the pain, and that the MRI can pinpoint the problem. I'm glad to hear that you have such a high chance of healing, if it's a disc problem. What are your plans in the meantime? Will you be resting fully (which would probably drive you 'round the bend), or will you be working to maintain with exercise that is comfortable?

Katie - my rest day is always Sunday. That's just due to my personal preference. When you're planning your week, keep in mind that on Day 4 you are supposed to do YogaX, which is 93 minutes. It's the longest workout of the week. I'm glad you had fun with SJP today. That's such a good one!

DebraX - snow in April is not abnormal around here, but it really should be the tail end of it. OMG I don't know how you and the teacher prevented yourselves from pulling into the nearest bar and throwing a few back on the way home. That trip sounded dreadful. I hope you're watching the DoodleBops :)

Cheers,
SandraX

Hi there ladies...Hope you are all feeling the wonderful effect of the X tonight...and your healthy clean eating! We have a cold front coming through and I can barely hear the TV over the wind whipping around my house! Got DD to bed...and all she could talk about was when am I going to teach her class again...

Sandra...LOL about the doodle bops....I came home and insisted my DD go upstairs and not talk to me for an hour....I am obviously not normally like that...but today was a bit different! And I am enjoying a nice refreshing beverage as I type!

Katie...I am with Sandra on the Yoga day...if you plan on doing YogaX as produced...then you need and hour and a half on that day...Plan your week around that instead of your rest day. I typically take my rest day on the day of the week that I have the most going on...Which is normally Mondays or Thursdays for me. Hope your X comes soon!

Tracy...You poor thing! Please let us know what the MRI says. I am so sorry that you are going through this!

Lea...The last one is almost like a huevos rancheros (sp...I told you my Spanish is horrible!) which are my favorite...Thanks again.

Traci...Hey you crazy woman...I sent you a PM.

Jeanette...Tried to send you another email..Let me know if you got it!

I am planning a circuit workout tomorrow...and in honor of Sandra..I will be trying Circuit Max for the first time. Hope you all have a good night and will see you tomorrow!

Good evening ladies!

What, what an active group on here! Hope I can keep up!!! Did get my bike spin in tonite. Just kept it pretty low key, high spin, no heavy leg work. Thursday will be a long hill climb with a girlfriend so I want my legs fairly rested for that. I plan on yoga that morning. Tomorrow will be GR 1000 again. Hope my other Jari Love's come soon too. Oh yeah, the tax appointment turned out good. I was very surprised. I was done in 1/2 an hour, drove home, ate, gave DH a kiss when he got home and off on my bike. I want to watch a movie tonite as the 2 from Netflix have been sitting there for a while.

Sandra, I guess I am lucky to have my cardio be a fun event for me too. Love that. Okay, maybe not lazy about some stuff, but other stuff, I take the path of least resistance and here lately, it's been my workouts, in comparison to all of you hardcore ladies. Sounds like you had a very, very nice workout today. You are on cloud 9! Doesn't it feel great? I don't so much have workouts like that, but I have bike rides that feel fantastic. I'm hoping Spring is coming soon for you. I'd be sooo tired of snow.

Welcome Teddygirl! Glad to have you here. What did you cook for 75 people? I love family get togethers. We're having one over here for my Dad and niece on Saturday. Dad will be 75. DH will BBQ pork and beef ribs and tri-tip. Someone told me how good the Applebee's Blondie Brownie was so I found a copycat recipe and will be making it. Not clean eating. PlyoX and DRILLS? Are you crazy?

Laurie, this weekend will be hard calorie wise for me too. It's not so much the main meal, it's the desserts! Yikes! Glad C&B was good for you. Miracle Whip and beer! You really know how to live LOL!

Deb, so glad you are posting here. You will love it and these gals will keep you motivated. You've come to the right place for sure. Guaranteed!!! How was PlyoX?

Lea, that nausea thing only lasts for about 5 or 10 minutes. Wonder what triggers it, besides cardio, and it wasn't like puking cardio either. My ironman girlfriend says to not eat anything before a workout if you want to teach your body to burn fat, otherwise it will burn the fuel you give it first. Who really knows? Your breakfast sounds yummmmy! I got rid of the candy but not before eating a piece or two first. I forgot my lunch today (left it on the counter, but grabbed the important tax stuff), so felt like I needed something and those See's candies were just sitting there. We had a conference call meeting this morning so I took the rest with me and put them on the table. I'm sure they are gone now.

Wendy, I love it that your DH is competitive with you. Mine is too, when I get him to work out with me. He's been working some long weeks lately so he's given himself permission to quit working out...again...He has been doing a lot of fix it stuff on vehicles after work. I hate to na..remind him about working out. My DH has nice thighs, but smallish calves. I think he's a bit self-conscious about his legs. Heaven's they haven't seen any sunshine in years! How did you like Legs & Back? That one never failed to make me sore.
Lea, I bet all the 2nd time Xers are going to do really well beings it hasn't been that long since the first X. Wait till next week! Thanks for the recipes, they look fantastic!

Debra, sorry your day was a toughie. That cocktail sounds good. I just had some non-fat hot cocoa and a little peppermint schnapps would have been nice in it. Sigh. Still haven't gotten your PM re: the DVD's yet. Maybe my PM thingie doesn't work? You can still email me at [email protected].

Dang it Katie, no P90X yet? It'll show up soon, and probably without any warning at all. Rest day, hmmmm, I wasn't good at that. Usually my rest day was Sunday, but that was also my group bike ride.

Traci, what the heck happened during your run? What do you mean you couldn't get your HR under 170? If you went slow or walked, would it come down? Different muscles used? Sounds odd.

Tracy, I am bummed to hear it may be a disc thing. When is the MRI? Maybe just taking the muscle relaxers will give it a break from spasming and help it to just get out of that pattern. I was wondering about sciatica. My dad had that a long time ago, but it went away and I don't think ever came back again.

Think I will go get my kajoonies on (my dad's nickname for PJ's) and watch a movie. DH is still outside working on his little Ford Ranger. Fuel pump or fuel filter problem or something. Poor guy.
