Xers...Thursdays Happy Dance!

Classic/Phase 1/Week 3/ Day 1 - Chest/Back

Wow, I can't believe that it's week 3 already! Of course it's the first day of week 3, but still. I just seems like last week when I started!

Had DOMS from Legs/Back yesterday. Still a little there today, but not as much. My upper back/shoulders are feeling yesterday's yoga (as usual). My hips feel much looser even today! No, I really didn't preview the workout, I just jumped right in, but everytime I looked up at the TV to see what they were doing, it seemed like that girl's underwear strings were showing! I can't imagine doing yoga with a wedgie very comfortable and relaxing!!!

Traci- I hope that you have a good Bay weekend! I know that it's been a while since you've gone. Here's wishing you good plumbing vibes!!!

Sandra- I hope that your "vacation" is a good one. Where are you going? I completely understand about spending so much time running from one family to another that you don't really get to spend time with any of them! That's how it is when DH and I travel home. I am glad that you did RS. I don't remember the music, but it has a high fun factor for me.

Okay, I am off to chop some veggies for work tonight. I will check in from work when I'm able to. I hope that you all have a good evening!

Classic: Phase 1/ Week 2/ Day 4/ Round 1

Late again this week:) Got up at 4:45 to do YogaX Because I had to take my son to the orthodontist. I felt so accomplished getting exercise in and getting ready and out of the house by 7:15. I do like YogaX and hope these will make a noticeable change in my body. I keep posting late so I miss giving evryone a chance to reply but I'll ask again, did any of you notice an increase in appetite when they started doing P90X?

Jeanette- Thanks for the heads up about bulking up and the Slim Series suggestion. Good luck on the hill climb, sounds fun!

TraciX- Have a fun electronic-free weekend, I need one too. I need to get a BF tool because I think that will be the biggest change. I can bulk up easy but I'm hoping my muscles will start to lean out.

Tracy- Yoga would be really good to lengthen your hamstrings which will yank on your lower back when their tight. Hope it loosens up:)

Quickly wanted to share my new purchase: Good Housekeeping's The Supermarket Diet. I took a look at Tosca's Eat Clean and decided to pass on it for the moment. I plan on getting it later once I'm in maitenance mode or if this plan doesn't work. ;-) Right now, I want/NEED a plan that doesn't exclude any food group, where everything is all laid out for me: grocery list with easy to locate items, decent and varied menu, and quick & easy recipes.

I plan on starting with the 2 week, 1200 calorie Bootcamp plan since I already eat ~1500 calories a day. If I start to get hungry or shaky, they recommend increasing the calories another 100. If that doesn't work, they recommend going straight into the 1500 calorie Keep On Losing plan. And, if that doesn't cut it for me, I can always try their 1800 Stay Slim Maintenance plan.

I hate calling this a diet since it doesn't look restricting. It just looks better thought out and more balanced than what I'm doing on my own. If it keeps me away from junk food, it'll be another baby step in the right direction. :)

BBL for personals. I have to go grocery shopping.

Wendy

Good evening,

Had a great hill climb competition tonite. 12 riders showed up, with 4 of them being ladies!!! It was a perfect afternoon/evening for a hill climb competition, not too hot, not too cold. Very little breeze. The route from the bottom to the top was 5.96 miles. It's all basically uphill, but the start of it has a little bit of flat and down. Then it starts to climb, probably a 7%-8% grade for most of it. Some good times posted. My time this time was 30:44, compared to last year's time of 35:24 so I was pleased. Of course last year we had a pretty fierce headwind at the start. I came in 1st for the ladies division. We'll all get another chance at this one in 3 months. Next month will be a different climb and a little longer and harder. The 3rd climb is a real toughie, with something like a 19% pitch at one point that goes on for less than a quarter of a mile. It is the hardest hill I've ever climbed. Then we'll start over and do tonite's climb, rinse and repeat.
Thanks for your thoughts, I really appreciate it.

Katie, enjoy your upcoming recovery week. Sounds like you are ready for it.

Sandra, I didn't notice Baron with baggy shorts, but everyone in the workout wears white clothes. Reminded me of white bras and panties and I wondered what was going thru his mind with all those women around him in their bras and panties. I'll have to do this one again. He's not a Bryan Kest or Eoin in being more zenlike (which I do like in Bryan and Eoin). I'll have to do a longer workout next time with it. It did have some different moves that I hadn't done in a while. However, my 30 minute dime had run out so I was anxious to quit. The bike climb tonite was 5.96 miles, with probably a grade of 7-8% for most of the climbing part. Yep, it's the fastest time that gets the points. That RS is really a gem of a workout, except for the music. I like a bit of complexity, and I take it you do too. I have Tracey Staehle's High Intensity Step and tried it once, but didn't get real far. Would like to revisit it soon. Your traveling workout agenda looks really fun.

Debra, have fun at the potluck. I'm sure your dish will go over well. Hope you see lots of beautiful homes and that "the" house jumps right out at you.

Wendy, you have the busiest life, but you sound like you are very satisfied with all your chores. Isn't that a great feeling? I've been feeling like that too, have a great job that suits me to a "T", wonderful DH and family, life is good. And we have our health.

Teddygirl, be sure and tell us about Sweatfest. Sorry that you have to spend the extra $ on a traffic ticket. That's a bummer. I got pulled over for speeding in a 25mph zone (was going 45 mph). Got off with a warning and believe me, I drive thru that area slow now. I think you picked well on the Cardio Coach workouts. I haven't done #6 (Candace), but I have done #5 and loved it! #1 was harder than I thought it would be, but a good one. Heck, they are all good.

Nicole, yes, I had a very increased appetite, but only for the first 2 days. I could have chewed off my leg I was so hungry, but then that passed. After that, I didn't notice the hunger any more than usual. Thanks for the well wishes on the hill climb. It was a good one!

Better get ready for bed. Hope I can sleep as I always have a tough time after a time trial or climb. Adrenaline I guess.

Jeanette

Good Evening, all!

I didn't realize until I was well into tonight's Chest/Back that it was going to be my last time until week 9! It made me "bring it" just a bit more and I ended up doing 20 reps of the back exercises with the bands. I have the pull-up bar, but haven't installed it yet. I may when I get into phase 2-3, I haven't decided yet.

Anyway, I took a peek at CS at Dreya....yes, there is some cellulite on the back of her left leg during the lunge run things. It was just a flash, but it was there.....not that I have any room to talk!!!

I hope that you all are doing well. Work is okay so far, but it's relatively early, yet!!!

Good night!

Day 29/Week 5/Phase 2/Chest Shoulders Tri & ARX

I don't know if we came back stronger, but ARX was easier; still can't do it ALL! We're getting closer though.

We never made it to the grocery store today. It's okay. I have the Day 1 Bootcamp breakfast foods on hand. I'll go shopping before lunch.

I'll probably have less time for personals this coming month. I have to get the girls' portfolios and papers ready for their end of the year evaluation. I've been terrible with keeping their reading lists up to date. I haven't even started to assemble a sampling of their work. UGH! Why do I always wait until the last moment?

I hear THUNDER. Hopefully, another harp string won't break. More importantly, hopefully lightening won't stike the house or me; even though I might deserve it at times! ;-) OH! My POOR Dog. She's such a BABY!!! She ran downstairs and is snuggling against my legs shivering and panting hard. Cesar Milan says I shouldn't comfort her because it will intensify her nervousness. Gosh! I feel like Mommy Dearest being calm and assertive. I think she was onto something, wire hangers and lightening don't mix.

Debra-X: Sorry I didn't post any suggestions for your dd's potluck dinner.

Traci-X: We'll be missing you this weekend! Will you be hitting the books and writing papers old school with pen and paper since you'll be computer-less? Oh! Was this your dh's first time with plumbing? Or is it your first time testing his plumbing skills? Regardless, crossing my legs that it works! :) Did you watch CS around the 40 minute mark? Are we seeing things? No need to crack the whip here! I'm pushing play and sweating (a little). Gin Miller's Intense Moves needs to be put on my want list. Thanks for the enabling! I can't remember who mentioned the check-in on OD. It was either Debra or Lea. I think it might have been Lea because she commented about finding people to take her place on the check-in. But, we'll never let her leave! ;-) I am perplexed with my progress pics. My weight and measurements are basically the same. Maybe, I was pulling the measuring tape into my flab on Day 1? Keep in mind, my day one pictures were taken during TTOM. My progress pics would have been taken during TTOM if Aunt Flo had stayed the duration of her scheduled visit. I know... TMI.

Tracy-X: Did your tendons loosen up for your afternoon walk/run? I'm anxious to try B&G post-X. I doubt I'll be able to do it straight through. Congrats on getting your legs tightened. It must have been difficult to not do much leg work for that long. Just keep easing into it like you have. You're doing great!

Teddygirl: Seeing my Day 1 pictures gives me nightmares too! LOL Don't be jealous of me. I'm jealous of your strength and energy! Which dvds have the scrambled egg version? I have a list of workouts to buy post-x started. I need to add that one too. My cardiovascular endurance is pathetic! You and your divorce court! You must be addicted to it if you're setting your alarm clock just to watch it. I prefer sleep!!! I'm lazy that way. ;-) Glad to hear you're not giving up on the X workouts, just making the routine work for you. Why on earth would you want to add on to naked Kenpo? Are you doing baby doubles? Ewww! I'm with you about wearing clothes. I think my dc would need serious therapy if they saw me working out in a bra and panties!!! It may even be grounds for divorce if Phil was subjected to it! Reminds me of that Seinfeld episode where Jerry's gf walked around naked. When she coughed, her body didn't look so sexy. I prefer the diamond on my neck or finger. ;-)

Jeanette-X: How was your climb competition? Did more people show up or did you compete against yourself? I am truly ignorant. I never knew people did riding competitions as a hobby. Where have I been? Oh, I know. Raising SIX kids! LOL Did the timer guy like his Starbucks gift card? He must not have a DDcoffee nearby! ;-) No, I have never seen Casino Royale. I'm sure Phil would like to watch it as he LOVES Atlantic City!!! Maybe, we'll watch it over the weekend if I survive the cold bus ride and zoo trip. Gnats must find you tasty!!! Yes, invest in the Jeannie attire! Go for it! I think a soft blush color would look compliment your coloring. Or you could opt for orange for your walk in the woods. That way the hunters won't mistake you for Bambi. I tell you, it's perfect!!! ;-) Another thing I've heard is people using fabric softener sheets. Really, it was on the radio. The dj actually tried it and said it works. Then one day, I drove by a lady working in her garden and she had attached dryer sheets to her straw hat!!! I about died! Let me know if it works.

Laurie-X: LOL on watching CS on HiDef tv. I don't forsee CS ever being my favorite to do; to watch: YEAH! }( Now, I feel out of shape. You add drills onto Kenpo too. Where do you all get your energy? I'm taking those time released horse pills (GNC Women's Ultra Mega Active) and still no increased energy. I think I used up all my energy in my 20's.

Katie: Doing the happy dance for you! But, you know what? I kinda missed not doing C&B tonight. This could be due to my unbalanced hormone condition! ;-) Good luck with Plyo. Week 3's Plyo killed me. Hopefully, I'll do better with it tomorrow since I'm coming off my recovery week.

Sandra-X: Did you get all your present shopping done? Wow! Dh is turning 40 and is getting socks! LOL I find that so funny!!! I was worried when I realized you were leaving on vacation. Not because of your workout. You have that under control! I'm relieved to see that you'll be checking in with a quick report. Try to relax and enjoy yourself. Toddler season passes too quickly! Take lots of pictures and videos! You'll need them during their teen years!!! ;) I'm not sure when I'll get around to taking Phil's progress pics. Maybe tomorrow after Kenpo. He hasn't been drinking his 1500 calorie shakes. He says it's nasty sweet. We're going to return them to GNC tomorrow and stick with real food. Baby steps eh? The Lord knew my twin's test results was just the encouragement needed for me to continue homeschooling. I was considering putting them in public school next year despite everyone telling me that they'll do better at home.

Nicole: I felt hungier during Phase 1. However, my weight didn't fluctuate too high or lower. It stayed about the same. My eating did go down during my recovery week. I've noticed my arms getting thicker. I'm not too concerned. I figure I'll lean them back out post-x with my Jari Love Slim and Lean. I looked over BFL and FFL the other day. Like Tosca's Eat Clean book, I like the basic principles. I just need something to tell me what to buy and eat. I don't want to figure it out on my own. That's why I LOVE the X so much!

Amy: Oh! I didn't take into account the extra X week. Duh! That would make more sense. Now, I can sleep knowing what the heck y'all were staring at in the picture. My X progress pic password is TonyDidHelp. I'm not sure if picturetrail is case sensitive. If it is, just type it all in lowercaps.

Well, it's past 1:30 in the morning! Best hit the sack.

Sweet Dreams!
Wendy

Oh, I see Jeanette and Amy snuck in while I was composing my novel.

Amy: I was starting to think I had imagined the cellulite. And, that Phil was agreeing with me to make me feel better! :7 Good to know I wasn't seeing things.

Jeanette: CONGRATS!!!! Way to go Number 1!!! And, you beat your time too! See that breadstick must have given you some extra fuel! LOL A 19% pitch is freakishly tough! When I interned with the public works department, part of my job was helping my boss get grants for bike trails through a rail to trails program. Anyhow, one of the trails stopped at the bottom of a steep hill. I joked that we should continue straight up the hill and wear out the bike ridders. It wouldn't have slowed you down though!

I've gotta get some sleep. Baby is still shivering at my feet!

Night Night
