Xers ***THURSDAY***

Sheesh!!! I have had the craziest morning! I head off to school and I guess they were having the problem of too many kids and not enough teachers, so they recruited me to stay! Didn't get to leave there until 12...then I went to grab some lunch (since all I had was a graham cracker at school!)...then to the grocery...then back to pick up DD....then home to unload and put away groceries and let the dog out to potty....I am now at gymnastics with DD and I brought my computer so I could catch up a bit, since I obviously have not gotten in my yoga, yet.

Okay...And one of the funniest things I have read lately is that May is National Masturbation Month. I just have to ask...who decided this? Did this go through Congress? I hope all of you celebrate this holiday appropriately!

Okay...On to personals...

Wendy...Glad you got some more opinions...I think that Amy's advice sounded good too. Your poor DD...I hate it when kids are sick and there is nothing really you can do for them!

Traci...Glad you found the articles beneficial yesterday. Keep us in the loop about your results. We love to use you as a guinea pig. LOL about your DH and naps...Mine is the same! He has to be exhausted to actually take a nap with no extra curricular involved! I now have my tortillas for dinner, but I also bought some wild salmon, so I will probably eat that tonight and have the chix mix tomorrow. I ended up eating an Amy's Mexican bowl last night. I had a taste of DD's chix mix on the tortilla and decided I really wanted the tortilla...I gave my last one to her. What we mothers go through!

Jeanette...Way to go with the pushups! Have fun on your ride tonight. I can tell how much your DH loves you since he'll have that mower set up for you...What a peach! LOL

Tracy...What kind of fridge did you have? I am looking at new fridges for the new house...so let me know what brand to avoid!

Nicole...Hope the chiro can help your back...Yes, last time I tried to do StretchX I got about 2/3 through and I just couldn't do anymore!

Teddygirl...Keep your chin up! We are always our own worst critics...One of the mom's at DD's school was talking about how small my legs were...and I just couldn't believe it! I see them as being short and stubby. I was also reading an article in either Health or Fitness magazine saying how much we have to accept our genetics when training and make reasonable goals for ourselves....With all of that being said...I think, as usual, Tracy gives some great advice!

Katie...Glad you enjoyed CST today...I always liked that too. Keep us posted on your cardio decisions.

Cheryl...Welcome!! Please go ahead and start checking in with us. We love new people!

Amy..LOL about your kitties and a clean house...My doggie always looks so sad when I clean up her toys...Like I am taking them away or something! Does she really need 20 squeaky toys out at a time? I know how your in laws feel about the seafood...It's always the first thing I get when I go to the coast...Can't wait to move closer to the ocean so I can eat more of it!

I'm going to be back in a few minutes with the rest of personals!

Okay...I'm back...I was getting afraid since I am not on my normal network that I would lose my post...let me finish up...

Laurie...My goodness, you guys have had your share of sadness lately! I hope you guys are getting through all of this in one piece! Can't believe your DD didn't want a tomato for a snack! LOL I got lots of fruit, so I'll just send some up to Wisconsin for you! And I have to ask...how big ARE your knees? I have never heard anyone talk about their knees before...ankles maybe, but not knees!

Sandra...I never have a problem ttom either, but I know lots of people do. Glad the lice are all gone! I don't think I have caught anything from you yet...just have some really dry skin! Let's see...I am getting rid of our kitchen table set and counter and our office furniture....I never liked that darn kitchen set to begin with. So I am going to buy something I like this time. We don't use our office furniture much anyway...so I will probably just get a couple of bookshelves and a filing cabinet since I am planning on using one of the room upstairs as an office/workout room. Which is actually very exciting since I usually workout in the family room. I will actually have my own space and I won't have to clean up my weights and step, etc every day! I also am getting a new fridge and new washer and dryer. And a new outdoor grill. Lots of shopping in my future!

Okay...I think that is it for now! Hope everyone has a great evening...I am sure I will be back to check on you guys later....After gym, I am planning on getting to my yoga...even if I only do 30 minutes! I am hoping to take a bike ride in the morning after I take DD to school and then I will do either shoulders or bis from SH...

ta-ta for now!

TracieX: you asked me what do I think was “magical” about your MIS rotation & legs? Duh!! I don’t know I did it every other day incor clean eating and legs leaned. Please do sneak me into the “THUNDER THIGHS CLUB” that’d be very nice. Why wouldn’t I like squeeze workout? Is there a place I can preview it. I think I’m going to order it, hopefully mail man delivered Amy Bento today.

TraceyX: woman you’re reading my mind. Yep, going to work legs harder and will eliminate using heavy weights. How do I shock my diet, I'm all ears

Jeanette: you feel my pain, don’t you? You know I can honestly say my legs do not look that bad Its all good, biggest problem I see is my diet.

My treadmill only make clicking noises when I start running, but not right away. I talked too TM Doctor told him what the problem is he believe it could be back roller. But mean time, back at the ranch, I’m going to throw headphones on and get busy

I need to revisit my ole friends, Strong Leg& Abs, Meaner Legs, MIS legs and Legs & Glutes, TM and Kickboxing, going too stick with this for a few weeks.

Teddygirl~

:D ;-)

Hello Xers! I'm back to say I have had a minor setback. Sat. I scrubbed my deck and strained my thumb/wrist. I am wearing a brace on it and the pain has subsided and the rotation is back 100% following just 4 days with the brace.
I am not doing any pushups, pullups, anything that requires putting strain on the wrist area of my right arm. I will do this for another full week and jump back into the rotation where I left off.
Phase 1/Week 3. Currently I am subbing Cathe cardio for the upper body days with ARX. I will continue with Kenpo and PlyoX workouts and B&G for leg day. No yoga. Boo hoo. I was just getting the hang of it.
Glad to welcome Cheryl to the group!
Thanks to all of you who still remember me in your posts. You gals are great! And such a wealth of information and inspiration!
Have a great Thu. evening!:)

Teddygirl- I go through tough times like youare too and I hate it. Just know how awesome you are doing and at least you are making an effort. I know it's not as bad as you think it is. Just put your pants on and quit looking. Go by how you feel when you don't stand there and stare at the "problem" areas. Your a hard worker. Feel better!

Katie- I'm so excited to try the CS&T. I haven't done it yet and you make it sound great! Have fun at the gym with your DH:) The picture of your daughter on the step is too cute.

Cheryl- Welcome! I'm glad your joining us. Everyone on this check-in is great! I started a month ago and they are all so friendly. I am driving past you on my way to Yellowstone so I'll honk and wave:)

Traci-X- Wow! That's a lot of yoga. Way to go!!

Amy- Glad you could check-in on this very busy day.

Laurie- Glad it wasn't a murder, but still, poor DD having to hear about this on the school bus. Hope you had a great workout.

SandraX- Good job getting rid of the lice. Hope it stays away for good. I am enjoyin P90X but I'm ready to get back to the hard workouts. I am a cardio junkie and because of my back I may sub Cathe for PlyoX. We'll see how it works out.

Tracy- LOL about your kids hiding your DVD's. I think my husband would do that if he saw any more come my way:) I really want to get Yoga 4 Happiness. Maybe tomorrow.

Wendy- You are too funny. I'm the same way when I don't get enough sleep. You are such a great mom taking your DD to all of these lessons. I hope Waverly feels better soon. Functioning with a constant headache can't be fun.

Debra- I'm afraid I'll have to refrain from that "National Holiday". Maybe if it was "Chocolate Day" or "Eat All You Want & Don't Gain Weight Day" I'd think about it:) I hope the chiro will help tomorrow. Hope you were able to get your yoga in.

Amy(Swifty)- Bummer about your hand, I guess that would be a problem. At least it's not a broken leg that would stop you from doing cardio, that would be a drag. Way to get creative and make it work.

I'm back! It was super cool at the airport because there was a U.S. soldier coming back from Iraq after 7 months, so we got to be there when he deplaned and his family had a HUGE welcome home sign. The whole place erupted in applause!

Then on to dinner and I did my best, asking for no butter/grease, but the grilled fish was still a little bit greasy, and now my stomach is offended. I was able to get steamed squash with no butter and that was really good!

Debra- LOL on the National Masturbation Month.....that HAD to have come from a guy!!! I am so jealous of your dedicated workout room! DH says that when we move, we will have a basement for me to utilize as a workout room! I can't wait!!

Swifty- Take care of the wrist! I can't believe how many of us are on the "injured/reserve" list! Tracy.....are you keeping track???LOL!!!

Good evening ladies! Hope everyone is doing well and enjoying their own personal pursuits this evening!

Swifty..So sorry to hear about your wrist...I had a similar injury during my last phase of the X...I ended up subbing Cathe's chest and back work with dumb bells that last little bit. I couldn't put any weight at all on my palm/wrist. Hope you are feeling better and back to 100%!

Amy...Glad your in laws got in okay. Sorry the fish didn't agree with you...I grilled some wild salmon this evening and it was very yummy!

Nicole...I can't believe you aren't planning on celebrating?!? I did get my yoga in today...and I was glad that I did! If it was any other workout I probably would have skipped it, but I really need the time to focus on me.

Okay..that's all for now...take care!

Good Evening Ladies,

Phil left for early to fit in an extra job tonight. Got some books for the kids from Amazon today. Totally forgot about ordering them too! Dh's birthday gift is scheduled to arrive tomorrow. That Cathe is sooo speedy! She won't let me down!

Now to finish personals!

Sandra-X: That's exactly what I'm thinking too! I told Phil that the doctor we normally use said I could eliminate one food item at a time. So, I picked peanut butter. Really, I think they are thinking this is a food triggered migraine since she doesn't fall into any of the other migraine categories. I still think it's allergy related. I'm also thinking if this medicine doesn't work, which it might since it's an antihistimine, that the neurologist will be the one to really figure it out for us in a logical fashion. But, enough about my dd's medical issues... You have more pressing and itchy issues on your hands. I'm relieved to see you didn't get eaten by the lice! I don't know how my brood of six ever escaped those pesky bugs. I'm probably due for an invasion. I'll blame you if it happens anytime soon. You're automatically guilty by association! ;-) I've been searching the net for information on migraines. Apparently, only say 16% of migraine sufferers have food related triggers. I'm still under the impression that Waverly's headaches are allergy related. Just now, she told me her head hurts. When I started massaging the back of her neck, she told me the pain runs down the middle of her neck. When my allergies get the worst of me, I experience pain there too. But, who knows, I'm only a mother. Most doctors hate it when I try to play doctor. I'm with Traci... I totally get shocking your body back into exercising. I have the train of thought that whatever I'm doing now is better than what I was doing. However, I need to start incoporating that type of thinking again and push forward.

Amy: Thank you so much for the advice last night. I appreciate you taking the time to share you medical expertise. Have fun with your inlaws!!!

Debra: That is sooo funny! NMM. Is their motto: Love yourself! LOL Sorry, I can't fit another holiday into my schedule this year! I've already had to cut out Kwanza and Halloween. I'm surprised I remembered to fit Phil's birthday in this year! And, that's one day, not a whole darn month of loving someone! :7 ;) How are we supposed to know if you imagine yourself with small legs or if you legs are really small? You never post your picture! And, I do NOT want to hear your poor excuse that you've only got your dd to take pictures of you. Geesh girl, don't you have any adult contact in real life. I trust strangers all the time to take a picture of me and my family while out and about! Now, GO TALK TO A STRANGER!!! }( :7 :+ ;-) Until then, have fun with yoga! Enjoy your clean house. I haven't finished cleaning the computer room yet. The stray field mouse needs some place to hide from my playful dog who thinks she's a cat! I think Baby has a reputation in these here hills. I haven't seen a stray field mouse since the last time she chased it all around the living room for an hour. Of course, Mousey is no longer with us. Got stuck to the glue trap by morning while Baby was sequestered overnight in our bedroom. Oh, I'm sooo jealous of your new workout room. One question: Will this room accommodate say 10 Xers??? Pushy people want to know. ;-)

Swift Amy: Oh Nooooo! Another one on the IL! Glad you are respecting your body and choosing your workouts wisely. Those vinyas would be terrible for your wrist/fingers. Have you considered only doing the second half of YogaX? Or does it require the use of hand pressure too? A thought just occured! You won't be able to celebrate NMM!!! :p }( :7 :+

Teddygirl: My treadmills makes a clicking sound when the tread part moves too much to the left or the right of the back roller. It drives me nuts when it happens too. I'm afraid the friction will start a fire. I know, I know. I have an overactive imagination. I'll own it! We use a little allen wrench to loosen the screw to make adjustments for this problem. And Girl! I'm right there with you on the cellulite. In fact, I'm going to bookmark this page for future post-X cellulite reduction rotations! I noticed my not so lovely bumps last night after taking my shower in the dim light of my bedroom. It's terrible starting at the beginning of my luteal phase and lasts until Day 5. I actually schedule vacations around my maximum intensity cellulite days! :7 Come on! I seem to recall baggy pants didn't come into style until the 80's not the 1800's!! Admit it! You were an 80's freak! LOLOL I bet you had the white chinos with the thin rainbow colored vertical stipes to help camoflauge your thighs! I did!!! :p :7 Did you have the Madonna Lace gloves and Cindy Lauper hair too? ;-)

Tracy: Oh that sucks to have your refridgerator not work! But, excuse me. Did I hear you correctly? Queen of mind/body/food connection had Frosted Flakes in the house!?! You would think my image of you would be shattered. Quite the contrary. I love that you didn't pull together a salad fresh from your organic garden. LOL Not that it's a bad thing! ;-) I'm still trying to digest your lower body slimming result rotation. 60+ reps? I'm like Traci when it comes to counting reps. My attention span is not there. Phil always makes fun of me trying to count to 12 or 15. It goes something like this: Tony usually counts FOR me to number 5, then I have to take over. 6, 7, 8, 10, 12, all done! :) Now, why would your angels intercept your workouts? Are they previewing them in bed with a bowl of icecream like Teddygirl? :7 If you get the time, can you briefly explain the process of your elimination diet? Did you eliminate all foods at once and slowly add them back? Or did you eliminate on group at a time?

Jeanette: Did your dh get the mower ready "with love"? ;-) I've seen your picture trail pictures, your thighs look strong!!! It shows how much you work them babies! Heck! They look better than my 37 year old jiggly thighs. I still think cosmetic stuff would satisfy me though! I'm vain and ignorant that way! ;-)

Traci: Thanks for the BFFM link. I will read it asap. Maybe, this article will give me the needed kick in the pants to eat better. I did eat alright today. I had lentil soup for breakfast. A soy burger on a whole wheat bun for lunch. And a chicken ceasar salad for dinner. But, then I had to go celebrate with 2 chocolate chip cookies. I think that's my problem. Maybe that's why Eion's Yoga appeals to me so much. I associate junk food with celebrating. Come to think of it, I could celebrate NMM with food too! I really need to stop loving myself so much though! LOLOLOL With food!!! Get your mind outta the gutter!!! Oooo You did the first part of YogaX! You go girl!!!

Nicole: LOL about falling asleep during XStretch! I must be a wacko because I liked it the ONE time I did it. ;-) My twins hated it when I got on the computer when they were little. They would always push the bright red light switch on the power breaker plug and crawl away while I was busy reading on the computer. They were too cute to admonish. I'm Worldly that way. Yes, I own it! ;-) Needless to say, I was hardly ever on the computer until they were well into their preschool years. Keep us posted on your back problems. Hopefully, that creepy feeling will be resolved soon!!!

Katie: I loved the first time I did CST too! The second time I did it, I didn't the Popeye feeling like the first time. Congrats on the house closing tomorrow. Have fun at the gym with dh! What new machine will you be trying out?

Welcome Cheryl!!!! Be afraid. Be very afraid! Not with the X, but with my verbose personals. You'll be lucky if you don't leave this check-in with bleary eyes every day. I should have a do not drive after reading warning in my signature file. ;-) It's great reading the impressions, thoughts, cuss words of first time Xers. Can't wait to hear your thoughts on the X!!!!

Laurie: Awww!!! The neighbor situation is sooo SAD!!! Suicide doesn't make any sense. I find it very heartbreaking when someone believes that's their best option. I can relate to what you're saying about spending money and when a loved one dies. I'm so sorry for your family's loss. Thanks for the hug and support. Here's one right back at you! ((((HUGS)))) Congrats to your dd! My youngest son made regionals in track this year. His dad took him to the track meet tonight. Hope ds continues like my nephew. My highschool star, record breaking nephew got scholarships to PSU for track.

Well, I think that about catches me up. Sorry for the delay! I've gotta start on the birthday boy's cheesecake. Jeanette, don't you just LOVE the month of May! So many wonderful people to celebrate! Hi to Wendy-X, Jess Jugs, Debfer, and all who I accidentally missed.

Ballistic hugs to All!

Wendy

Amy,

My nephew just got in from Iraq. He has to go back in a couple of weeks. His friends threw him a welcome back party last weekend. Re: the airport... How sweet and touching! Did you weep for joy when you saw that? I'm a hormonal mess when it comes to stuff like that. I cried at a stranger's senior recital at Curtis when she started thanking her parents. Good for you for requesting grilled fish. Hope your stomach forgives you soon!

Wendy

Hi all,
Got back from my bike ride with a girlfriend tonite and then on to mowing 2 lawns. We have a riding mower so really, it's not tough at all. However, one of the tires has an air leak in it and I can only go so far and have to come back to the compressor and refill it with air. What a pain. We put fix a flat in the other ones that were always going flat and it worked. This one has a heck of a leak. If we weren't so lazy, we'd fix it I guess. Sunday I plan on doing some weed eating and mowing the property. I probably just ought to wait until all the growing is done for a while and then do it but I can't stand it. Saturday is my triathlon bike practice near Sacramento. Looking forward to it. Tonite we did a pretty tough hill climb, really, really steep but I climbed it slowly so as not to blow up, plus wanted to save my legs a bit for Saturday's ride.

Oh yeah, I received my Xer shirt from Lea in today's mail! Looks great. I'll have to get DH to take a picture of me sometime and post it. Actually, we should all post our pictures.

Debra, which yoga did you do today? Did you get those tortillas? Boy, I've had those buffalo chips cookies on my mind lately.

Nicole, when I got home from bike riding, the lawn mower was sitting there nice and pretty. DH didn't let me down. He's a power tool kind of guy, you'd think he'd want to mow. I think he hates yardwork. He'd have the yards concreted in if he could. Nice for you to have a quiet morning. I did StretchX a few times and liked it. Need to pull it out again. How come you only have it once a month? I thought it was a weekly thing. You haven't done CS&T yet? It's one I liked, though some didn't. I liked the variation in it.

Teddygirl, hoped you perked up today and didn't dwell on your legs. Mine are sturdy for sure, wish they were longer. Yes, they look better when I'm laying on my back. I'll bet yours look fantastic.

Tracy, I like working my legs with no weights or light weights. Seems to be working better for me. No, we didn't get the woodstove in yet. Have to take the old one out. I'l have to start cracking the whip at DH. He's been working so much OT that I hate to ask him for much. He and I'll be off on Sunday so maybe then. Hmmm, maybe I should start getting him used to the idea. Let us know how your first bike ride goes. I received one of my new Graham Watson jerseys today (the Galibier one) and it's beautiful! The sunflower one won't be shipped for another couple weeks.

Katie, way to go with CST and AbX. I usually did AbX at night. Nice to see improvement, yes?

Cheryl, glad you're joining in. You'll love it here and will be so motivated plus get to hear all kinds of exercising theories.

Traci, that's a great calorie burn for yoga!!! Love having you as the guinea pig. For me, I really can't tell the difference in strength throughout my cycle. I've had really strong cycling performances while enjoying TTOM too. I'll have to take a peek sometime at the Sculptfest workout. I'll be doing some FF workouts next week.

Amy, bet the clean house feels good. Mine needs the cupboards cleaned out really badly. I'm a messy stuffer. Stuff it in here, stuff it in there, hurry and close the door. Your poor DH, I feel so sorry for anyone with back pain. My sister just had neck surgery, but it went pretty well and she's happy now. Seafood sounds great to celebrate with! I absolutely love halibut! Really cool about the soldier coming back from Iraq! Sorry your stomach is offended.

Laurie, no, I didn't change my hand position at all with GS Chest pushups. I seem to always do the minimum requirement. However, in LIC pushups today, I did do some staggered pushups and changed up where I put my hands. I was surprised that I could do all the pushups still on my toes. Glad your DD improved her time. How old is she? She sounds competitive, wish I'd done sports when I was in school. You are so right about my legs looking good while looking at them while lying on my back, with them up in the air. I have big knees too. All of the girls in our family have these same legs and toes, short stubby toes. Not the kind you show off in cute sandals. More like Keen sport sandals that cover the toes. I could easily eat a box of Frosted Flakes, handful by handful. I don't even buy cereal anymore.

Sandra, so glad you are getting the lice thing under control. Do you have to use a magnifying glass to see those little buggers? Yes, this weekend I had a bit of a stomach bug, can only describe it as a stomach full of undigested food. Made the organized bike ride not so much fun. It's all gone now. Just a bug I guess. Heard of others that had it too. Our power was out yesterday because I think someone might have hit a power pole and they had to shut down the power to fix it. Yes, we've had a few outages this year.

Debra, LOL re: NMM! Ever watch the Sunday Night Sex Show? That woman host, Sue Johannson cracks me up. She looks like a little old grandmother, I'm guessing in her 60's or 70's and the stuff that comes out of her mouth!!! DH and I crack up sometimes at the phone calls from people. We are just so straight laced and missionary! Yes, DH even had the leaky tire on the mower aired up for me. Bless his little heart. That's real love there folks. We always have at least 10 toys scattered around the house. Our dogs love anything stuffed. Wish we could ride bikes, it would be fun.

Swifty, sorry about the wrist. Good for you to hold off so you don't irritate the injury.

Wendy, you are too kind about my legs. They are strong, but with a layer of fat on them. It's like super glue I swear! I'm really thinking that little by little, they are getting a bit better. I am soooo looking forward to making that cheesecake!!! Can't wait. It'll be week after next. Maybe that's why my legs look like they do? Duh! However, I just love cheesecake and so does my DS. Thanks for the ballistic hug!!

Got to go and put on a movie, we've slowed down on watching them and these 2 have been here for about a week. Have The Bourne Identity and also need to finish watching The Incredibles.

See ya,

Jeanette
