Happy 5th gals!

Last Nites Yoga: Eoin – Quickie
I REALLY wish I had more time for a longer session as my hips were aching after the CC Bike adventure… Ended up doing SS Upper Body Blast yesterday morning… That was fun- time flew by and I felt like I did well considering I am in my “off” days of the month right now. I’d LOVE to see how a rotation is put together using all those glorious premixes SandraX! Thanks….

Today I meet with my marketing gal/friend (wish it were you Cheryl!) At some point after that I’ll be doing BM2…. Plus an Ellen Barrett Yoga or Yoga/Pilates Mix. I realized last night that I have NEVER done a BM (1 or 2) as produced…. What’s up with me? LOLOL:7

Thanks for all your insight & feedback about my BF & scale weight topic…. I am going to have to try and lean out with more cardio this month I suppose:-( ( I am no longer a cardio queen) so I’ll be loosely working off of Cathe’s Nov 06 Shock Your Body… It’s mainly her new stuff which I really haven’t had the pleasure of totally focusing on yet so at least I won’t be bored for a few weeks!

http://www.beachbody.com/jump.jsp?itemID=643&itemType=CONTENT&path=29

A good easy to understand article from Tony about nutrient intake while working out & recovering… Just more info to absorb!

I’ll bbl with all the personals from yesterday…. Have to prep some last minute things for my meeting this morning.

Happy Day & Fabulous Flexing to all!

:7

Back with some thoughts on yesterday……

TeddyGirl. Latrese, Anointed……. STILL looking for you !!! Even WITH a computer you DUMPED us! LOL

Jeanette X
Gosh we’ll miss you once you go vacationing again this weekend! You are a teeny tiny thing too!!!! I didn’t realize you were 120 soaking wet! Now I am really having to get myself in gear…… Were you that small when you started the X? I recall you talking like you had “issues”! LOLOL Thanks for great thoughts on BF/Weight… You’re right… I don’t see too many heavy lean people! Hope your day was fun filled! Take care of the tootsies… kiss kiss

Cheryl
Great workout girl! Isnt it amazing what GS Legs can do? I always wonder if I’ll survive til the bitter end! I do love all the equipment use in that one- more for my boredom factor! Thanks for update on Don! That’s just sooooo cool!

Tracy X
Great use the BM’s weight segments…. I really like mixing things up using those…. Your logic on BF & Wts makes sense to me… Its such a blurred line with so many varied professional opinions. One more follow up question for you… We always hear that you need to stick with a plan for 4-6 weeks…YET in the body building info I read on losing BF% they all say that if your plan is working you’ll see some kind of result weekly/bi weekly. Does that mean if my eating plan is clean and I am 10 days in to this additional cardio with nothing happening I should shift gears?
I haven’t run across Shiva’s 4-direction lunges yet…. Is it called that in a particular segment? I have her Shakti & Sun Salutations DVDs.
LOL on the bike calorie burn – my 40 minute ride burned 432, I’m a believer!

Debra X

ONE MORE DAY TO WORKOUT!!!!!! Yippee!!!!! What will you do to get yourself back into it all??? At least you know you could probably do any functional fitness routine and ACE it!

Sandra X
YEAH on Power Mode!! Ya know that since I am getting my hormones more regulated I actually have a few more Power Days than ever before!!!! I think you are “normal” and those of us that crash aren’t as hormonally balanced!
Any cakes today? Did you do one for your holiday Monday???

Wendy
Another vacationing Xer???? OH MY! Glad you are enjoying Eoin… I call him my non-judgemental Yogi!!! I always feel like “Im just fine the way I am” with him.
I am right with you on my heavy workout days…. I am SYARVING the next next which is so counterproductive because its usually a rest day! LOL…. Since I HAVE to start more cardio now I am planning on telling myself that’s it GREAT to eat a lot on those hungry days- I’ll just make sure I have TONS of veggies & pre-made protein….
Your intruder story left me with chills! MY GOD we just don’t know when its going to be our time do we???? FRIGHTENING! I did have a “eyeroll moment” with Phil sitting in truck ambivalent…. I think he & Wendell are twins separated at birth!!!!!!!
Congrats on yet another piece of the project being completed!! Moving right along now! PLEEZE – TMI on the soap/rain/bikini!!!!! LOLOLOL No wonder Phil likes projects!

Nicole
Life without AC and anywhere near 100 is just something I cant wrap my mind around! You are a trooper… I’d be lying in a pool and doing NOTHING else! I think Firework regulations are set county by county. My mom (Bakersfield) was outraged that there wasn’t a ban this year…. Out here in Houston if you live in City limits they are illegal but my area is just 1 exit outside the city limit and they are abundant. I am such a party pooper- I DISPISE all fireworks- noise, rude & drunk people using them til all hours of the morning – last year we were VERY VERY dry and came home from the bay after the 4th to find a good portion ogf our front lawn BURNED away. Our house could have easily caught fire and the neighbors wouldn’t have even picked up the evidence. SORRY for the rant! LOL

Amy
Your 5K story brought tears to my eyes… You are so right about helping break thru mental barriers… I think you already have that quality – born with it or learned in military perhaps but it is one that I didn’t really learn until p90X. I spent many post workout days of crying because I couldn’t believe what I had pushed myself to accomplish. I felt the same way after running the 1999 marathon…. The 2-3 months following these events are when I believe I made the greatest strides in my life overall. Cant beat the Rocky Feeling …. You are such a good soul.

Laurie X
WOO HOO on RECOVERY WEEK!!!!!!!!! I am so excited for you!!!! What is the “official” date for XX status??? I feel like there needs to be a party! Glad you got rain ! I cannot imagine living in drought areas again… I recall all the smells of forest fires when I lived in CA and the smell causes me to panic a bit. Fire is my greatest fear in life.

Well- I gotta run as I am really late …… I’ll see ya all this afternoon at some point I hope- Unless BM2 as produced KILLS ME!

Hi all,

Yesterday was a 32 mile bike ride and then an hour of yoga. That was probably pushing it a little too much. I rode as hard as I could and at about 29 miles hit a wall because I hadn't had enough water. I must not have washed my water bottle out enough because it tasted like soap, but I ended up having to drink it anyways. Once I got some water, I felt better. I'd gone 28 miles in an hour and a half, which was good for me, then ruined my time when I hit the wall. It was still less than 2 hours which is OK. I think I'll have to start taking my camelback. I don't know how these people do it with such little water.

Then I pushed myself to do an hour of Fluid Power yoga. That was it for me, but I have to say that I really concentrated on my core and it is sore today. I pretty much have a six pack now, which I'm not sure that I like, or was even intending on getting. I haven't done a "core" workout in 3 months. The yoga is doing amazing things for me.

We didn't officially go see any fireworks. DH and I were watching something I'd TIVO'd and out the back window the neighbors were putting on a great display of fireworks. So I was watching TV and fireworks at the same time.

Back later for personals,

Tracy

Good morning, gang!!!

Well, it's overcast and gray, but still a beautiful morning!!! Yes, Thursdays aren't usually so happy for me, but I was excited to get up and measure myself. The scale is still eluding me, but my measurements are down quite a bit, 1" in the chest (where the bra strap hits), 1/2" in the waist, and 1/2" in the thighs! I was thinking it was an hallucination that I was starting to see a bit more definition in my thighs, but I guess not! I also noticed the other night at a friend's house that I didn't "spread" in the chair as much as I used to!:p :7

Everything below my waist hurts today. I guess it wasn't such a good idea to do a heavy lower body workout before the 5K yesterday. Oh, well, it's a good hurt!}( I am also glad that today will be an upper body weight day at the gym. I like doing the upper body there because of the pull-up/dip assistance machine.

Traci- I hope that you enjoy BM2...that's my favorite because of the music! It also gets you good, too!!!}( LIC is also great for the core moves.

Tracy- I'll share that 6-pack with you....all I have is a 2 pack right now:p :7 DH and I didn't watch any fireworks either. He wasn't feeling good yesterday (he was going to go with me to the race, but got up, threw up and went back to bed). That's awesome about your bike ride yesterday! I wish I could ride around here safely (drivers aim to hit you, here!)

TeddyGirl......where are you????

Wendy- So, how'd the steak dinner go???

Debra- Are you still lost in the painting??? That is the one part about moving that I am NOT looking forward to......packing and unpacking!

Everyone else, I hope that you have a great day. Any ideas for my cheat meal tonight???

Good morning,
Today was CTX Kickbox (without the arm drills at the end) and then I switched to (surprise) doing a couple combos from each of Christi Taylor's Totally Hot Cardio and Totally Hot Step. I have tons of errands to do after work tonite to get ready for our camping trip tomorrow. I still plan on getting a bike ride in when it cools down and after the errands are all done as I'll be off the bike for 6 days. Hoping for a hill climb tonite.

DH and I got some things done around the house yesterday and after BBQing the brats, we headed out and up to the woods where it was noticably cooler. We relaxed out there and I tried to nap a bit, but my mind wouldn't settle down with all the things I need to do today. When we came back down to the valley, you could sure feel the heat. I slept with my frozen neck scarf on and got right to sleep.

Traci, I think for me, it's all about mixing up the workouts. Sometimes more cardio is best, sometimes less. Hope your meeting with your marketing friend goes well and you come away with some great new plans. I know that whatever you set your mind to, you will excel at, you are just that way. Your enthusiasm is infectious and I know your new clients will feel that way too. I don't consider myself small in weight as I'm 5'2" with thick, short legs. I weighed about this much when I did P90X, maybe a couple pounds more. You wouldn't have wanted to kiss my toe yesterday, it was filthy from weed eating. Shower felt nice last evening and helped cool me off too. Back when I was in 6th and 7th grade, we lived in Taft, California, near Bakersfield. My dad used to say that when you die and they bury you in Taft, they put an overcoat in the casket. That way, when you go to Hell, you won't freeze to death. Remember Mom putting salt in our lemonade so we could get back the salt that we sweated out. Eating potato chips probably would have done the same thing. I didn't like the salt in the lemonade. She used to get on various kicks like that. Once she decided to save money and make milk from powder for all of us (5 kids in family). We all hated it. Then she'd make it 1/2 real milk and 1/2 powdered to make it more palatable. She didn't stay on that kick too long.

Tracy, good bike ride for you. Sorry about running out of water. On my century rides or rides over 50 miles, I'll take the Camelbak. Love that thing. Way to go on the 6 pack! I think I have more like the box of wine thing LOL!

Amy, good going on the body stats. We know our bodies so well and if you think there is getting to be definition in your legs, then for sure it's happening.

Oh yeah, I downloaded some geocaching coordinates to my Garmin last night so I can take DS's GF's son geocaching while we are up camping. That should be fun.

Hi to everyone, Wendy, Debra, Cheryl, Swifty, Sandra! May not be able to log on again until next Wednesday or Thursday.

Jeanette

Good Morning Ladies!:)

Traci, now what kind of motivation is today's title?;-) It's a beautiful day in the neighborhood! The sun still isn't shining and everything is wet. But, I can flush the toilet! And, Baby didn't have a panic attack since the fireworks were canceled due to the rain. :)

Today is Kenpo with shoes in my bedroom or naked in my living room. I'm leaning towards shoes since my blisters might not be fully healed.

Traci-X: Now, I'm a bit confused. I remember you saying that the X taught you that you didn't have to kill yourself with cardio. Are you going to up your intensity or just add on more cardio in order to decrease your body fat. Eion is refreshing! He's so different from Tony and Shiva. I'm one to try to push myself to do more than I should. Eion is like Phil, they love me as I already am!;-) Amen! about rolling your eyes at Phil. I tell you, I still feel a bit of hostility when I think back to him being unaware of the situation! I know he's only human. How would he have known. But, still. I think the husband as protector role is ingrained in my mind. Oh! What's TMI about me being dirty? LOL I need a shower BAD!}( :7 ;-) Hope you gets lots accomplished today with your marketing friend!! I'd hire you if I lived closer!! Go out there and sell yourself!:)

Tracy-X: I still think you did great on time for your ride! But, I can see how you'd like to increase your mph. It's a new day! :) Oh! I hear you about the 6 pack abs. I don't know if I want them either. Not that I have them to find out!:7 I guess it all depends on one's perception. Personally, I prefer a softer, smoother stomach. I think that's the media's fault. However, a ripped core is sexy too. I can see how yoga can strengthen your core. It's tough to be balanced!

Amy: Congrats on your measurements! That's awesome!!!! Have you taken any progress pictures? I can measure and weigh myself, but those pictures really help me to see progress. I must be a visual person. Dinner was uneventful. It was nice to eat real food. I needed some heavy duty protien as I am sick of sandwiches and fruit. I can't wait till my kitchen is finished! Anyhoo... have a great upper body workout day! Over on video fitness, I read something about a pull up bar attachement thingy you can buy to help assist with pull ups. I forget the name! I'll have to find it again. But, everyone raves about it. I can't do one true pull up without jumping. So, I'm going to check it out more.

Sandra-X: I agree with Tracy. I'm unbalanced. Phil would agree! I notice that when I eat really clean that my hormones don't mess with my energy or mood swings. I also noticed that if I listen to my body and not push it, I barely have any mood swings. It could be that my body is freaking out because it was used to a decade of being either pregnant or nursing! ;-)

Well, off I go to get ready. I have to take ds to his test.

Ballistic Hugs to ALL!!!
Wendy

Jeanette! You snuck in while I was posting! Take care of yourself till you're back online! You will be missed!!!!

Ballistic Hugs!
Wendy

Morning Xers,

Doubles: Ph3/Wk13/Day3/Rnd2
Workout: Yoga Zone Power Yoga and StretchX

I'm doubling up on my workouts today, because I know I will be unable to get my workouts in this weekend.

Our party was a fun time, and people didn't leave until well after 11pm. :) Now for the clean-up. :(

Traci, My official end day for the X will be tomorrow when I do Core Syn. I will see if I can get the last StretchX in, but that will depend on how late I need to stay up on Friday night to get things ready for the weekend.

Jeanette, I don't know if I would recommend Tracey yet. Some of the drills she does still confuse me. I probably should do this workout for a week straight, and then I would be fluid in the punches. This one is a good workout as far as calories burned, but it gets frustrating.

Amy, Way to go on the 5K, and yes you are a crazy woman to do lower body and then run a race. :D

Nicole, No we haven't gotten our dog yet. They will set up a time to come to our house with the dog. They want to check to see if we are animal hoarders, and what type of home/yard we have. Then after that we will get a yay or nay on the dog. She is part of the GSRW so they are more strict than a animal shelter. But the lady that is her foster mom is from an animal shelter.

Wendy, I am keeping my fingers crossed for your son. My sister loved being in the Pharmacy part of the Army.

DH is walking around waiting for me to get off the computer. :D More like pacing. So will catch you all later.

Have a great day!

Laurie

Hi! I went to get DD up from her nap yesterday afternoon, and in the process of that the doorbell rang, and that was the end of any "spare" time until now. I've got about 5 minutes. Oh, the glamourous life of the SAHM.

This morning I did CC#3, running outside in the beautiful, gorgeous sunshine and fresh, cool air. Just wonderful. Then I did CoreMax#3, and TBStretching #2. I feel really good now.

I'm sorry I'm not having proper conversations these days. I always have things I want to discuss in more detail - you all are always talking about interesting stuff.

Real quick:

TraciX - good luck with your meeting!!!!

TracyX - A six-pack? Cooool!

JeanetteX - See you when you get back!

Wendy - How close to getting the X beside your name?

LaurieX - Are you a XX yet? I'm not doing well at keeping track these days.

Cheryl - An expanding business...nice!!

Amy - I hope your doing well.

DebraX - got the workout room set up yet?

Who'd I miss? I always miss someone. Teddygirl, if you're reading, I hope your vacation is going well.

Okay, I'm taking the kids to the zoo this morning, so I have to start slathering on the sunscreen and finish packing bags. Have a great day!

SandraX
- feels guilty about all the drive-by posting

Good morning ladies! Back from visiting our friends. We had a good time...but I am a bit sleep deprived, so if I sound a bit dumb today, I apologize in advance! Our friends have a dog too, so we took Polly and they had a great time playing together. We went to the pool yesterday and then went to their downtown area for dinner music and fireworks. All in all a good day.

I think my painters are done with my workout room, so I will be getting up there after posting and get things organized. I have been thinking about rotations...and I am not sure yet what I am going to do. I figure anything at this point would be good since I haven't worked out regularly for about a month. EEEEKKK!! I probably won't be able to lift a 5 pound weight! I am thinking one body part per day with 3 days of cardio and yoga/pilates on the other days. I am also thinking I will use GS and maybe PS rotating every other week. Although, as I am typing this I am remembering that DD and I are meeting DH in NYC next week...so my real rotation probably won't start until I get back from that trip.

Okay...onto some quick personals...

Wendy...Hope Kenpo goes well for you. And good to DS on his test! I'll have to get the Southern Belle Primer....It's been a long, long time since I lived down here...and I am already noticing lots of things that I had forgotten. Like...everyone really does move slower in the South....dogs on chains in the backyard...the accent alone has been challenging....lots more plus size folks...must be from all the biscuits and gravy...which there is a lot of down here! I am happy to have sweet tea again...and everyone is very nice and courteous...a big change from the other parts of the country I have lived in.

Laurie...WooHoo on being a double Xer!!! High 5's ^^^^^^^^^^^^^!! I am proud of your being able to stick with the X for a full second round! Glad you had fun at your party last night. When does your faire start? This weekend??

Traci...LOL about your peeping tom...Hopefully he won't be at your window any time soon! Good luck meeting with your marketing gal. I hope she has some great ideas for you.

Tracy...Sorry about the yucky soap water! I always forget to take water with me when I ride...I know I will have to now that I am down in the heat of the South! Hope all is well with your family. I am amazed at your progress with the yoga. I think I probably need to push myself more when I do it. And I am sure that have at least 2 outfits to go with each pair of shoes. Are you done with work for the summer now? When do you head back for fall?

Amy...Congrats on your measurements. It sounds like you are heading strongly in the right direction. And congrats on the 5K...that's awesome! My cheat meals...which are pretty frequent...are always mexican...I love a tortilla!

Jeanette...I am sure I will sound stupid but what is geocaching? Like caverns and stuff? Have a fantabulous time on vacation!!

Hi to Swifty, Teddygirl, Cheryl, Sandra, and Nicole (if you haven't melted yet!) I'm off to be busy upstairs for a while...hopefully that will keep me from falling asleep...'cause I'm kind of feeling like I need a nap!

Hello :)

What say you:7 just popped in to tell you guys my nephew John, was in a BAD car accident, I've been over my sis house the past 3 days helping her anyway I can. No workout, lost 3 lbs, but after yesterday fest gained every pound back Yeah. I will check back later before I head back to

Back from meeting & snuck in time for an eybrow/lip waxing…. Ahhhhhh to feel like a girl vs gorilla again!

Meeting went well…. My head swims…. The more I do the more I see I need to do! My friend Linda (marketing gal) is really perfect for the job tho as she has never really worked out so she’s asking me questions that I take for granted people know…. A perfect balance. I told her I had 300.00 a month to spend on services so we prioritized and she’ll get cranking today. First 2 priorities…. My intro packets & my website…. Which is www.trainingbytraci.com by the way. Just an under construction sign so far tho’. Long term goal is to do internet based work of creating rotations & menu plans on line for clients all around the world! ha

Started my period - SHOCKED! 3 days early! URRRRRRRRR- time to adjust meds again....... No wonder I'm nilly willy today!

TeddyGirl. Latrese, Anointed……. STILL looking for you !!! Feeling very slighted about now! *** walks off w/ hands on hips & huffy puffy***

Jeanette X
Great mish mosh this morning! I enjoy CTX Kick…. Probably because its short! Ha
Thank you for your inspirational words on the business… I appreciate that more than you know. 5’2…. That’s the height I always dreamed of being…. Why? WHO KNOWS! I am only 5’5 but always wanted to feel petite. TAFT???? REALLY??? OMG- that was my High Schools big rival! I went to Highland (Bakersfield)… should I say I was SUPPOSE to go to Highland…. I kinda “visited” HS and still ended up graduating 6 months early… Either they wanted me out or my Catholic School years (1-8) made me smart beyond my years! Salt in lemonade is a personal fav of mine! LOLOLOL… Maybe that’s why I retain water…. FUNNY about the milk…. We were a family of 5 as well and things were really tight $ wise…. Powdered milk was what I was raised on because of cost…. Back in those days bologna was a cheap food so we had fried bologna with carrots and potatoes at least 3x a week. Memories…. I look at my life now and what I consider “budgeting” and I have to forgive my parents for all I held against them… They had it so hard yet we girls all survived. YES- What is Geocaching? - even my spellcheck doesn’t know what that is!

Tracy X
That’s just FABULOUS about your ride! You are so strong – I am woman hear me roar!!!! LOL Soapy water! You poor thing! Don’t know if I’m feeling inspired by your 6-pack or mad as heck! LOL…. Seriously- I am so happy for you and do find it all encouraging. I’ll take it if ya decide you don’t really want it! I have a belly button ring that would look so much cuter with them!

Debra X
Great fun day yesterday! Have a GREAT time playing in your new w/o arena! I bet you’ll have a BEAUTIFUL place to sweat!

Sandra X
First & foremost…. NO GUILT! Don’t we Xers have ENOUGH stuff in “real” life to feel bad about…. Lets make a pact that personals is not a reason to ever feel guilt! WE LOVE YOU SARGE! Now toughen up! LOL
GREAT workout before Zoo today…. Feed a monkey for me pleeze!

Wendy
Even in the rain the dam* firecrackers were going off al night! TEXANS! Urrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr………. No naked Kenpo- remember the peeping Toms!
Lets talk cardio……. YES – X DID teach me about less is more HOWEVER one of the challenges of being in perimenopause is that our bodies are fickle… My body requires constant stimulation… (NOT THAT KIND-!)…. I think the additional cardio along with it being cross training cardio will shock my system. My BF% has been stuck for 3 months now even tho scale has dropped some. I think I just need a shock for a few weeks then back to strength with vengeance…. Its HARD getting old girl! I agree- FOOD absolutely creates environment for hormones…. Just ask TracyX!

Amy
WOOOOOOOOOOOHOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! SUCCESS!!!!!!!!!! I am so excited for all you have discovered about your personal magic!!! You just go for it girl! Cheat meal…… PIZZA!!!!!! MEXICAN!!!!!!!!!!!!!! BOTH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Laurie XX!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
24 hours? ^ 5 you stud! !!!!! I want a tank that says…. MY FRIEND IS AN XX’er!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Oh my- NOTE TO SELF…… *change checkin name to Xers & XX’er!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Off to find my inner strength and whip out BM2!

Hi, everyone!
Yep, it really does feel like Monday. But tomorrow is Friday, so that's the good news.

Traci, so glad your website is coming along and the marketing is on the move. I will watch it with care. So much fun!

Laurie, bet you can't wait for the new "pup". What fun. A new baby in the family.

Tracy, WOW on your workout!!

Anointed, so sorry to hear about your nephew. Please keep us posted.

Amy, so sorry everything below your waist is in pain. That's no good!! Today's another day.

I had a wonderful workout today - GS Back/Shoulders and bi's -everything but the forearm roll in/outs - plus 45 min. PowerMax cardio and the Cardio hits abs, for a total of 1 hour 45 min. Good stuff.

Managed to eat clean yesterday until bedtime when I found my way to the chocolate/peanutbutter ice cream (a personal favorite) and had way too much. Kept my total calorie intake to 2000, but there was my treat for the WEEK. Done with that.

Have a wonderful day, everyone!
Cheryl

Hi all,

Back for some personals,

Jeanette – You are loving that Christi aren’t you? I’ve done that too where I just can’t get enough of a good fun step routine. Then I work it until it is no longer very effective, but I sure have fun doing it! I have some Christi, but only like the step. I love Still Steppin, it is so much fun. Maybe I should look to see what else she has, wait no, I’m not buying anything else right now. Stepping bothers my hip, plus I try to do it more in the winter when I can’t get out as much. I love traveling, but hate having to get everything ready. I’m better now than I used to be. We are much more organized, well sort of.

Wendy – A decade of being pregnant? They would have had to put me in an insane asylum. I hated being pregnant and had 2 just because I was an only child.

Laurie – I hope everything works out with the dog. I suggested getting a Sheppard for our next dog, but was vetoed because of the common hip issues. It’s almost Laurie X, or is it XX? I didn’t realize that. Congratulations!!!!

Amy – Glad the measurements are good, sorry that the scale is not following suit. I’m not sure what to make of that. You’ve only changed the eating, not the workouts right? I do see a huge difference in my body when I eat right, although I’m still always concerned about eating fat. I’m doing much better with fish as my main source of protein. I feel lighter too, if that makes any sense.

Traci - The 4 direction lunge is detailed in Fluid Power yoga, but I apply it all of the time now, and most of the other instructors refer to it in one way or another, but not literally, which is what I needed. It just makes the lunge much more dynamic and therefore beneficial. I think that when you are assessing your increased cardio you first have to make sure that you are actually increasing something; ie frequency, duration or intensity or a combination of all 3. If you are just going through the motions with the same old cardio, then I’d don’t think that you can expect to see results very quickly or at all. On the other hand, if you truly are making changes in the duration & intensity, and probably less so, with frequency, then you should see visible results in a short period of time. I think that the amount of results that you will see depends on just how much BF you have to loose plus the degree of change in cardio. I also think that it may take a little time to get to the point where you can really effectively change your cardio, so in that respect, 2 weeks may not be enough time to see visible results. JMO  Plus, I think that there are so many variables to working out and eating correctly that you have to be very careful what information you take at face value; you really have to look to see whether the info was based on a specific scientific study, and if so, the number of participants, replication, and a host of other issues (the dr in me is coming out) this is where common sense also comes into play.

I’ll catch up with everyone else, Cheryl, Debra, Sandra, Nicole and anyone I missed, later today. Looks like a lot of you posted while this sat on my desktop and I had to work.

Tracy

Phase 3/ Week 11/ Day 4/ Round 1

YogaX

Woke up at 5:30 to get YogaX done before the AC guys get here:):) I was so happy about the AC that I didn't mind getting up early. I was given a 8-10 time frame so I had to be safe. I got it done and now I'm waiting. I was not wanting to do the full yoga this morning but I made it through:) I am headed into the home stretch and I'm anxious for a change. I am planning, planning, planning for my new workouts and my good food. I am going to be in awesome shape by mid-summer, I hope:p

Jeanette, DH and I have a swamp cooler and he cleaned it all out for me last week to avoid the stinky smell. I need to get some of those tablets so it doesn't start stinking again. I am going to keep it for the days that aren't so hot since it is so inexpensive to run. See what happens when I read wrong:p What a dope. maybe I'm age dislexic:) Either way, I'm sure you feel great about the shape you're in right now. I would love to be 119 but at 5' 7", I don't think it would look too good. The last time I weighed myself I was 138 but I would like to be 130-132 again. I guess we'll see:) Have a great time on your little vacation to the mountains!

Traci-X, Sounds like a fun workout yesterday. I always get energized to do more when I read your posts:) I hope the PR gal can help you. That would be wonderful to find your niche! Thanks for the article, I love reading inspiring and motivating stuff. My husband LOVES fireworks and whenever we're in a state that sells them, he buys them up. They only use them in the sand dunes but they scare me to death and I won't go near them. In the hands of imbeciles, they are outrageously dangerous, I agree!

Debra, Hope all is almost settled so you can get back into your everyday routine. We want updated pictures when you're done with the house. Sounds like you had a fun 4th! Glad Polly could join in the fun:)

Wendy, I got quite a picture in my mind of you in a bikini bathing on the front lawn, LOL,LOL!! Isn't Phil a trooper. I think you should keep him:) Poor Phil:( No foreworks on 4th of July! What a tragedy:) Have fun with Kenpo today, naked or not. Let us know how ds did on the test.

Tracy, 32 miles and yoga? You are awesome. I'll have to wait until the kids are a bit bigger to try that. They get upset about an hour to an hour and a half:)

Amy, I really admire your motivation. So glad to hear you were down in measurements again, that's great!! Way to go in the 5K!!!

LaurieX, I hope all "check's" out for the dog. Way to go on doubles! Glad the party went well and good luck with the clean-up:)

SandraX, Have fun with the girls! I am running out of time here too:) AC guy will be here soon:):)

AC guys are here, gotta run! Everyone have a great day!!!!

Hi there ladies...back again to say workout room is complete...well...at least the part of the room that is dedicated to working out is complete! The other half still has a lot of boxes, but still plenty of room to do all the weights and step and kickboxing my little heart desires! I think I may do a full body weight routine tomorrow...like MM maybe....I feel the need to do some weights...then Saturday I will do some cardio and try to get back in the swing of things. I won't be able to start a real rotation until I get back from NYC in about 10 days.

I did go out and buy a chair and ottoman today. Well, I am close to the furniture capital of the world, you know. So...it will be here in 6 weeks. I could have lived without it, but I really liked it and I feel like our family room needs another splash of fabric since we have a lot of leather furniture in there.

Traci...So excited about your impending website! It's probably good that your marketing person doesn't know a lot about fitness...she'll ask you questions about things that you wouldn't think about. Not quite sure why you would want to be 5'2"...I am (was?) 5'2"....I think I am shrinking, though...and although "cute" I can't reach anything without a step stool...not even the cabinets in my kitchen....and if I am in a store and something is one the top shelf...I have to climb up on the lower shelves to reach it. And men always think I am weak...I am usually stronger than they are. And I have to wear thick soled shoes or heels all the time or my legs look very stubby. My bestest friend (who you remind me of) is having a hard time with her weight and her body shape right now too. She is 52 years old and had a total hysterectomy a couple of years ago...and has been struggling ever since. If I was a real woman, I would do BM2 tomorrow...but I think I might pass out and not be able to go to the farmer's market as planned!! LOL

Nicole...I hope things go well with the AC guy!! I'm sure one day if you ever move from sunny CA that you will be able to buy a huge mansion! The cost of living there is crazy!! I am glad to be back in the South with cheaper home prices. Congrats on finishing yoga this morning...are you counting down the minutes yet???

TeddyGirl...So sorry to hear about your nephew! Please know our thoughts and prayers are with you and your family.

Cheryl...That darn ice cream! I had some last night too...I wanted a beer, but we were outside of the area where we could drink, so instead I had cookies and cream...I think the beer would have had less calories! Sounds like you had a mega workout today!

Sandra...Hope you have a fun day with the girls. Glad you enjoyed your workout this morning. I am looking forward to doing some CC on my bike once I get back from NYC. I hope you made sure to keep the girls away from the bear and tiger cages....I know how you can be about the safety of your daughters. Just don't dangle them over the edge.

SandraX, Just looked at the cake pictures. They look great! How fun to hone a new skill. Glad you can check-in, even if it is quick.

Debra, Yeah your first official workout back:) MM is a great one to feel the burn and pump. Yes, I am counting down now. I am so glad you invited me over to this post because everyone here has such great ideas about rotations. It really opens my mind to new ideas.

Traci-X, I have your website bookmarked now. I can't wait to see it when it's done!

Hey, gang, I went with Mexican for dinner tonight. I am also feeling my upper body workout already from this morning!

Tracy- No, not only did I overhaul my eating, but I re-vamped my workouts, too. I am lifting heavier than I have ever before, so I'm not that upset that the scale is not following the measurements yet. I know that I am packing on the muscle...I could see quite a bit of new definition in my uppper body/chest area this morning at the gym during the cross cable pulls.
