Leaner Legs & Abs (Abs first)
Starting to feel the multiple leg days but not in a bad way- Feeling tight hammies for 1st time today tho and may need more stretching~ “Normally” I’d have today as Kickboxing but that isn’t smart at this point in the rehab game so its just mo-legs!

Just wanted to let you all know what’s going on as I wont be around much…. I’ll be back for some personals today after I get some ice on the arm this morning.

Shoulder: What started off as a feeling better day quickly took a turn for a felt worse than ever day for no particular reason I can see. About 10am my arm went numb and 2 fingers swelled (ring/pinky)and that part of forearm is also numb… I got very scared so I called a Sports Specialist for Arms/Shoulders but cant get in until Monday afternoon. The actual pain in the original point is “gone” but because of the numbness I am wondering if I have nerve damage. I decided that even if I felt “recovered” this injury has gone on so long that I need it checked out or it will just always flare. ~ Ice packs & Ibupropin brought down pain & swelling levels yesterday as did some easy stretching but woke up this morning with the finger swells & numbness in the same regions again…. Computer work seems to make it worse so after this morning I’ll need to limit my time to (have to) work related stuff and stay off the computer except for my early morning posts…

Keep healing vibes coming and I’m sending them to all on the IL list! xxooxoxoxoxo
 
Traci...Sooooooo sorry to hear your injury is taking a turn for the worse!!!!! I am glad you are headed to the doctor, but sorry it is going to be until Monday to get in. I thought something must have happened since you were never back yesterday. Take it easy woman! Sending some very gentle {{{{{{{hugs}}}}}}} your way and hoping the healing comes quickly. Rest, rest, REST!

You can blame me for this cycle craze! I followed a rotation based on cycle days as an experiment a while back and LOVED the results… to this day I honor the flow (so to speak)

Ho Hum- YES the typing makes it worse.... hand was feeling almost normal after circulation got going this morning but now the 2 fingers are again numb.... heading to go do something other than computer work.

Back again before I get truly started on my day....why does it always seem like I am doing laundry?? I guess because I start a load and then leave it in the dryer for 4 days...LOL!

I ended up doing LIC cardio blast premix minus the last segment...so a little over 30 minutes, which was just what I needed. My hammies and glutes are a little sore this morning from my yoga yesterday....I knew I was getting in there good! I am planning on doing SH chest, BG standing legs and stability ball abs today. Let's see how that goes...LOL!

Jeanette...Glad your instructor has clubs you can borrow for class. I'm sure things will go well tonight. I can't believe you guys already have some chance of snow....it's still 80 degrees here! Yes, XDH does sleep on a prison type mattress in Russia and he loves it...I think he and Tracy would get along sleeping on boards together. I got a SUPER soft mattress...which is what I like...Maybe our marriage would have worked if we had a sleep number bed...or not.

Traci...XDH is coming October 7 and he will be here a few days...staying in a hotel in town. I'm not getting what he doesn't get about my saying that I am done. Do I have to beat him over the head with a club?? Sorry, your shoulder feels twingey after typing. I am just hoping this is nothing too serious. Not to scare you, but I have a friend who has some disc problems in his spine that manifest in pain in his shoulder and numbness in his arm. Just make sure you are thoroughly checked out. I know it's easy to think it is sports related, but there may be other causes. Rest today you crazy woman! I am definitely going to do my abs first today too...I think that just let's me work my abs harder since I am less likely to cheat at all.

Okay...caught up with everyone last night! I really have to go now. Maybe I can get some studying done for my driver's license test. Whopee. I don't know which is worse, that or laundry.

Workout: Week3/Day3/Leaner Legs, CTX Shoulders, 35 Min Run

Today I don't have to get to a meeting at 8am, but at some point today I will be up in that tiny conference room. Just can't wait for this stuff to be over with. As I was sitting in the meeting yesterday, they said that anyone that would like to joint the Industrial Hygeine program is more than welcome. Do you know that almost everyone in that room looked at me. WHY!!! I don't need anything else to do, and get paid the same amount of money! Are they crazy people.

Van is all fixed, just needed a new battery. Apparently the battery cable was loose also. So all is well in car land. :D

I am really enjoying walking the dog after work, and not just for the exercise. My youngest DD has been taking the walk with me, and I am getting to see the funny girl I had known when she was a baby. This is a good thing for both her and I. She is the type that usually has her face in her Gameboy, book or watching TV. Now I just have to get her over her aversion to doing the dishes. :D

Traci, OUCH is all I can say. Sounds like you are in some pain. x( LOL about Alan Funt! I will be doing the LL workout later today, so I probably will be the same way after those lunges. So DH is still looking at that boat? You hadn't mentioned it in a while, so I thought he had given up, but I should remember men and their toys.

Debra, Having a yoga instructor that doesn't grate on the nerves is a plus. Yesterday while doing Xstretch I found out that I can't leave the door open to the basement. Dogs like yoga mats, or at least mine does. :D Really hard to do down dog with a dog on your mat. And then wanting to kiss you because your face is in the right spot. :D You have to take a drivers test? My oldest was asking last night if she could drive. I told her not until she had her learners permit! Glad she is so ready to drive. NOT!!!!

Tracy, That time of the day is a crazy time at the store isn't it! I have to go to Petsmart after work, that won't be so bad. But the street that this store is on is one of the busiest. x( I just wish that Petsmart sold coffee also, then I wouldn't have to stop at Target also. DH and I had to get a new matress about 2 years ago, and I wouldn't let him get that without me. We both are happy with the one we have, so I can understand your frustration.

Nicole, I was wondering how you liked that yoga workout you did yesterday. I had been looking at that one. You said she holds the poses for quite a while, that is something that doesn't bother me. I also am looking for more yoga workouts. I have the Long & Lean from Baron Baptiste on my list (thank you Traci!) Just wanted to see if I can include more. Ok now that I paged down I see the link you posted. Thanks so much.

Jeanette, I hope your camping trip is minus snow. Sounds like you are thinking ahead. Youngest DD and I haven't started to pack for our little venture into camping land. We will have to do that tonight, since we will have to set up the tent on Friday! The only thing that we have to do is have a tent, air matress, and sleeping bags. The food is taken care of.

I love the topic this morning, and yes, I could see the weekend yesterday. Today was GS Chest & Triceps (most of anyway), then 4 hi-lo of SJP and then the abs/planks from SJP. My shin is really improving and looks almost normal now. Love the music from the Body Blast series, but then, I'm a 70's type of girl. Really loving my Time/Life Soft Rock hits. Have golf class tonite and I'm planning on it being a good night, thanks to all of your good vibes.

Traci, so sorry about the numbness in your arm. Hope they check out your neck/spine also as it could be a pinched nerve. Glad you are getting in on Monday. Know you will keep us posted. ((((hugs)))). Very disheartening for sure, but as healthy as you are, know you will bounce back from this. You'll just have to modify for a while. I will BRING IT good today at the class! Thanks for the words of encouragement and hope that Wendell is right.

Debra, your cardio yesterday sounded just right, 30 minutes! I like that. LOL re: the sleep number bed. Hey, it's the little things that finally drive us over the edge. How are the rocks doing? Do you even hear them anymore or do you just tune it out? Of course, we'll want some pictures of them too. You have to take a driver's license test? Think I only had the one when I turned 16. Since then, they all just get extended or a new picture only, maybe an eye test too. Or at least I can't remember taking another test. Have fun with that laundry. I actually don't mind it. Hate it when DH does it because he doesn't fold anything. One pile gets dumped onto the next and the next. I'd rather he go find something else to do, like the dishes.

Laurie, so glad you are enjoying the new dog, bet she loves her walks as much as you do. Isn't that nice when we see a different side to our kids that normally isn't shown to us? My DS was always so good around other people. I thought, why is he not like that around me. I probably nagged him too much. He's a great kid now so guess I didn't ruin him too much. So you don't want to be on the new program? Industrial Hygiene sounds sooooo exciting. Glad the car issues are taken care of. My DH can usually handle most things that happen to my car. However, the newer cars are so complicated that it's tougher for sure. I've got to finish packing food in the trailer tonite, after golf class of course. Think I will be needing a flashlight outside while running stuff in and out of the trailer. I'll be getting off of work a little bit earlier so we can leave town sooner. Think it will be chilly but no snow (fingers crossed).

This is a great dance/yoga/ballet DVD. It is an hour long and I feel so graceful when I'm done which is pretty tough for me:p I am seeing good changes this week with all of the yoga and I am more sore all over than I was lifting heavy. Go figure! I think I may adjust my next rotation to include more.

Traci-X, Oh, it does sound like a nerve gone bad:( I hope the doc fixes it. Too bad it's not until Monday:( I had a pinched nerve in my shoulder/back once that made my arm and fingers numb. It was dreadful and painful. I feel for you big time.

I have got to get the kids out of bed for school but I'll be back after I exercise:D

Last night, I finished strong with MIS lower x 2:D and abs only once. I swear my legs are getting huge even my pants our tight today. I like it, now it is lean down time.

I used 50 lbs for all leg routines. I just took me good ole time, 1 to 2 minute breaks. I’m going to add B&G and L&G twice a week with no weigh, this will lean while MIS build the muscles. The next MIS workout moving right up to 60+ for legs not times 2, times HEAVYx( :9

Traci- I'm hugging you on your LEFT side!!!! I am sorry that your shoulder isn't behaving! I hope that you're able to get it fixed/resolved without too much difficulty!

Yesterday I had a facial (for once, my skin was behaving!!!) and then went to the gym. I also got my arm-pits waxed, which was a first. The last that did it had to mix a couple different waxes together because the one she had in the room was too hot, but it turned out for the best because the stuff didn't even come close to sticking to my skin and the hair came out without ANY pain! She was as excited as I was!

Yesterday was my heavy day at the gym and it took longer than I expected because 2 older ladies asked me to show them a couple of the machines. No biggie, but I lost my rhythm.

Today's menu has a pedicure (didn't get to that yesterday), taking DH to a pain management appt, and my solid meal for the week. I only have 3 more days of the Velocity diet to go!!

I'm flying by quick. I misjudged my yoga this am and was late for work, but that Fluid Power sure felt good.

Traci - So sorry. My leg was numb when I herniated the discs because disc material was pushing on the sciatic nerve. That continued for quite some time, about 3-4 weeks or more. That's why they wanted to do the cortizone shots, but by the time they suggested that it was starting to get a little better. Remember I had no use of my left calf for a while? That's why. Situations like this can cause permanent damage; depending on how long the numbness continues. You do need to see a doctor. They'll probably do an MRI and may give you something to reduce the inflammation; probably steriods.

This morning I ran again, 60 minutes with partner. My runs are feeling stronger lately even though I'm only going out for 5-6 mile stints. Things are good. Work is booming.

Traci, Traci, Traci, what are we going to do about that arm?? Now, I know you don't do LL with a barbell...I hope you weren't holding dumbells either? I feel awful on your behalf. Maybe your workouts have nothing to do with the shoulder problem...maybe it's all about poor posture while typing? You need to get a voice-text program like DragonSpeak, and speak all your messages to us. Yeah, that'll work!! I used to consider that lunge sequence to be extremely tough, then she came out with workouts like GS Legs and BG, and now I consider them mercifully brief! Monday can't get here soon enough. What are your plans until then? LMAO about throwing out DH's stuff to make room for yours. So true.....Yes, ETL is overly stringent for my tastes, too. Maybe if I was 65+ years old and completely inactive I would do okay living on lettuce alone, but not yet!

DebraX - Add me to the list of people who are curious about why you're taking a DL test. I think I'm beginning to understand why commercials about mattresses always make it sound as though you're making a purchase as significant as a home: it appears marriages can hinge on whether the bed is "just right." The mattress isn't an issue for either DH or myself. Our issue is his snoring. Now that could land me in jail for murder one day....and then my cell mates would probably snore, and I wouldn't be any farther ahead. That's karma for you!

NicoleX - How's Grady doing? I don't think you ever mention Shiva Rea's workouts. Do you not have any of her stuff? Given how much you love yoga, it seems like she would be a natural fit to your collection.

LaurieXX - Industrial Hygiene...oh come on, you know you want to!! What would you be in charge of, exactly? Making sure people wash their hands before they leave the bathroom? Reminding people to sneeze into their elbow, not their hands? Telling the boys to leave the seat down? Making sure no one's lunch is left out of the fridge for longer than 15 minutes? Smelling the mayo to make sure it's still good? Cleaning out the office fridge? I could go on, but I think you get the drift. They want you because you appear to be the best mother in the whole group!

JeanetteX - Very nice workout today! I'm a huge fan of the BB music, too. That's my favourite series, hands-down, if rating them by the enjoyment-factor. It sounds like you've got another great weekend lined up! When do you have to finally stop hopping around and make like the worker ant? How does DH like his new job? So, do you know what actually happened to your shin? It sounds like a strange injury to suddenly appear.

WendyX - spirulina is algae? Isn't algae a form of seaweed? 'Cause I know I just read something that called spriulina a seaweed. BTW, are you saying "Spy-roo-leena", or "spi-ruh-leena"? TTOM does indeed mess with me a bit. Today is Day Two. Tomorrow (Dreaded Day Three), I will have a brain full of fuzz and not remember how to spell my name. It will take too much effort to finish a complete thought, so I won't even try. I know that algebra test I aced in grade 11 was written on Power-Mode Day 26, and the one I bombed was written on Dreaded Day 3. But only a homeschooling mother would create a grading curve to reflect her DD's hormone cycle :p

LeaX - Are you still following the September rotation? Cuddle time with the 3yr old can count as a workout: TickleMax! HugMax! KissMax!

Anointed - Wow, you're hitting those legs some good! How are you going to get that 60lb bb over your head? You'll be getting a shoulder workout at the same time!

My hip feels pretty much normal again. It's got some extra stiffness, so I'm not pushing anything. I've done some Yoga Shakti for the past couple of days, to keep things limber. I'm still keeping the cardio low impact. This morning I did KickMax warm up, combos 1-4, then Cardio Kicks drills (starting at the power kicks), and CK cool down/stretch. All tolled up: 57mins. This was a nice workout, I would consider it intermediate cardio. Not too tough, but kind of fun.

Jeanette: Now that I’m doing 3 or 4 UB work outs a week, yes, I build pretty fast :) :) Too be truthful it's the push ups, man oh man, hitting muscles in all areas, its crazy.

Monday I rode 26 mi (total time 2 hours). It was so lovely. The crampy feeling went away Mon evening. Bike it right out of me.

I’m off to my bike ride now. Probably will take 50 minutes today. I’m falling behind on “stuff” I have to do at home. This weather is gorgeous! I don’t want it to end.

Quickie post to say you all are absolutely cracking me up today! So happy reading doesnt hurt!!!!

I am doing ALL lower work WITHOUT BB & DBs! I am using ankle & Thigh weights when appropriate only or I'll have a back like Tracy's!

TRUST ME GALS- You can go way low and slow without carrying weights... opening a whole new world to me!

I'll try and come back in a few hours to do current personals and then in AM I'll only have half of day to do:7
 
For all of you who have never moved....when you move to a new state you have to take the DL test for that state to get a new license. I have taken 6 tests in 6 different states over the past 10 years...you would think I would know all the answers by now, but each state is a little different and I don't like to miss any, so I study. I am a little compulsive with tests...LOL!

I just finished BG stability ball abs and standing legs. I'm taking a bit of a break before I do SH chest...and I have almost talked myself into doing it tomorrow with a little cardio...We'll see. So now I am off to fold laundry and study for my test. And maybe even take a shower today since I missed that little piece yesterday. I'll bbl for personals....
