Xers ~ Therapeutic Thursday~

I'm back!

I am filling my time with planning a menu and making a rotation that will be easier on my back. I think I have been too sedentary as of late because I have been glued to the TV and radio since Sunday.

Today is the first day I haven't had the radio on all day. I still hear the bomber planes out there and that's good but the smoke is really picking up because of the on shore flow. That pushes the smoke and flames back our way but they aren't moving as fast as they were the last couple of days.

My twin brothers are still out there fighting the fires but I'm hoping they are getting some rest by now. What a way for my newly married brother to spend his newlywed life:)

Thank you all for the support and concern while we were going through this. You are all so loving and supportive through all of life's ups and downs:*

I was killing time earlier reading OD and I saw the post about the poor woman who's father died unexpectedly and it really put things into perspective. We are lucky to have our health and not be suffering the loss of a loved one right now.

I have previewed the new DVD's and they look great! I will refrain from doing them until I feel strong enough to even attempt a deadlift.

Debra, Oh my, you are just having too much fun right now;) At least you have a nice "distraction". I hope your DD feels better soon. I'm sure if XDH was really upset about the separation he would have made time to be here, but he didn't. I can just imagine how XDH would react to you dating, ayayaaa!! We are sisters in TTOM as mine came to visit today as well:p By the by, what is up with you and falling on your tush? You are so good at that. I would think it would have built up an immunity to it by now:p

Traci-X, Glad to see you are on the road to recovery! How many clients do you have now? I am glad you are able to keep busy:) We are so blessed to live in a community that is so giving and self sustaining. They are actually having to turn away donations and volunteers because there are so many. A lot of the people who are giving are the people who lost there homes to the Cedar Fires 4 years ago. What a stark contrast from Katrina, huh? I'm so glad you get to go to the bay before the weather is no good! Enjoy the alone time:)

Swifty, Glad you were able to get good sleep! Enjoy your day off:)

Lea, Have fun with the fall activities! This is my favorite time of year minus the wildfires.

Teddygirl, I know exactly how you feel because I'm right there with you. My eating has been horrid and I tell myself it's not worth it and yet I keep doing it:( We'll have to have each other's backs on this battlefield of sweets!

Carol, Thanks for the offer of rain. I wish we had some in our forecast to smother this smoke and ash.

Jeanette, Enjoy golf class tonight. Yes, we are quite the isolated area. Most people in north county don't even know we exist until they come to see us when it snows:p Now I have empathy for you since I am dealing with the nasty smoke you were dealing with a while back. I hate it!

Wendy, You should have watched "Have Fork Will Travel" on the FOOD network. He was in Thailand, Bangkok to be exact, and he made it look really fun. You need to stop reading about the bad stuff and pretend you are a tourist with no connections to the country. Look for fun stuff to do while your there. You are making yourself sick over this and it is so unlike you. You'll do fine!! Maybe you can come back when your sister does if you aren't having fun.

Sandra, How was the time with your parents? Did the girls enjoy having their grandparents around? How are the cakes coming? I never heard how the class ended up. Oh, I made the pumpkin smoothie from Vegan Planet and it was so yummy:9 I'll have to make some more stuff out of there. I live in the mountains of San Diego. I am right in between the two big fires we had in San Diego County. It was a bit hairy for a while and they are still only 10% contained. I hope that the rising humidity helps the firefighters get them completely put out. They expect full containment by Nov. 4th. A bit far, but at least there's a date, huh:)

Tracy, Glad you got a little break today. Maybe it will give what you studied a chance to sink in. I am getting a yoga for bad backs and I hope it will help limber it up. It is so sore from the inactivity and I am going stir crazy. Are you almost done with this class?

Hi Amy and Cheryl!

Off to move around for a bit:D

Sending Debra a big dose of hugs and a even bigger dose of Arnica for that sore tail bone. :-( Hugs and well wishes to your DD. Hope she's feeling mucho better by AM!

Traci, many thanks for the poster suggestion. I'll get on ordering that one for sure! So happy you're feeling better. Yippee!

I must get on with the tucking in. DD calls.

Oh, I made it to the theater and saw Into The Wild this afternoon. I feel much better, I did something just for me!:7 And it wasn't even exercise related. ;-)

Back at you all tomorrow! :p

Okay...back for s words...and I keep forgetting to mention that I got some new dvds on Collage last night....A Rodney Yee yoga, Amy Bento's Slo Mo Strength Challenge (which reminds me of Cathe's SH), Gin Miller's Serious Strength, and Callentics Evolution. Hi ladies,
Late as ever tonite, but thought I'd check in. Work was good and busy today. Golf class was fun. I am getting more consistent with my drives anyway so that's a plus. Hitting the "sweet spot" more often.

Anointed, dang, so sorry for the car bill. What was the matter with it? Hope this is the last of any car problems for a while. Hope your eating was good today. Mine was fairly decent.

Debra, what a lousy day you've had. Sometimes it just happens like that. I remember a bad time many years ago. I was heading for a foxhunt (coyote hunt out here in Nevada). I had trouble catching my horse. Then I dented the fender on the horse trailer when I pulled through a gateway. Then, I missed the turnoff, swung out and got the truck and trailer stuck in the sand. Had to ride for help. It was just one of those days. Hope the antibiotics work for the kitty. Not sure I would spend the $$ on chemo for our cat, sorry to say. Hoping that your bruises aren't too bad. Maybe soaking in a hot bath will help with any soreness. Boohoo on your mother's car. Don't you wish you could just have a "do over"? Glad your friend could step in and help you out. Enjoy your time with him. He sounds very nice. Kickbox was okay today. I'm not a huge fan of it, but it was all right. Remember, I've been kind of frumpy lately so maybe that's why I wasn't all gaga about it. I am looking forward to HIS tomorrow, though I know I'll be rewinding quite a bit. Hope your DD is feeling better now. A nap always helps it seems. I too am looking forward to Cathe's November rotation. I need a rotation to follow.

Nicole, glad you are safe for the time being. Hoping that cooler weather and more humidity and less wind is in the future for you. Are you still taking some anti-inflams? Is the back feeling better?

Traci, I'm so happy that your workout felt good. Keep the intensity low for a while. Don't want to push it past the point of not healing. No Woohoo on KB07 today. I just haven't felt all that excited about working hard lately. Hoping that tomorrow will be better with HIS, though I probably will not get an intense workout what with rewinding, skipping back, etc. That's okay, though. I hear it's a fun workout anyway.

Wendy, I'm with Debra. I think you need to focus more on the touristy things about Thailand. Aren't you going to visit the "stinky tofu farm"? I know you will have a great time. Please don't let other things get you down. We are living vicariously thru you on this trip.
Another couple of comments tonite from 2 new people on the pink golf bag I have. However, everyone loves my new 3 wheeled cart. One guy told me he was going to nab the cart, paint it pink and give it back.

Sandra, your family time with your parents sounds very nice. Yes, eating is a big thing in our family get togethers. I have to go pick up the ingredients for the cornbread tomorrow night. Just when I start to eat clean for 2 days in a row --- BOOM another eatfest. Jeez and with the holidays coming, it's not going to let up for a while. It's been hazy here, could be from the southern California fires. Nice workout for you today. Actually sounds perfect.

Swifty, glad you did something for yourself today. Was the movie good?

Got to go now,

Jeanette
