Goooooood Tuesday Morning Xers!


I shall not even attempt to read and catch up on the past weeks events so PLEASE inform me of any major events I need to know….

Stairs at bay completed…BEAUTIFUL and served the purpose! Sandy able to take the new grade with no problems! HOORAY!!!! Huge load off my mind!

Website up with initial info… Not yet what I “want” but at least I can actually accept paying customers now! All I need to do this week is get a pic of myself up on it. Then I can relax as I tweak it. www.trainingbytraci.com

My workout Room is organized and cleaned out so if I have to use it for clients I am now able…..

Business cards are designed and have shipped so I crossed that off my list… I got matching refrigerator magnets too so that will be a giveaway for my clients…. I will be ordering logo water bottles later this week as well…..

I start training one of my friends (the marathoner) with 8 free sessions next week – If it goes well I know I’ll get her business as she is a big Personal Trainer person but doesn’t like the people at the gym she attends… She also has a circle of friends that I don’t know that she agreed to send my way …..

Today I start Phase 3 (alternating workouts) of P90X + cardio of my choice. I am actually playing it smart- days like today where I have 60 minutes of lawn mowing shall be counted as my cardio. I am going to cardio in AM and weights in PM as it fits my schedule better.

I missed all of you so much and knew that I had a great support team here for my return… I do hope all of you are well & happy … I will try and skim last few days to make sure everyone is OK!

TraciX! Welcome back!! With you starting the thread, I know my world is starting to settle again. Well, not quite, but only 3 more weeks until DD's back in school and I will hopefully have more time again. You're progressing so well with your business!!!! I'll check out your website later today. YAY on the stairs and Sandy!! If there have been any major events, I've missed them too, as I haven't been able to stay on top of things very well this past week. I know that yesterday I missed saying...

I have to go do up my laces and go for a run outside with CC#2. It's staying dark longer in the mornings, so it's still not light enough for my liking. But if I don't go now, I'll lose my opportunity, as DH has to leave for work in about 50 minutes. After the run I will do GS Triceps, and about 30 mins of Fluid Power (something that includes the hip opening segment).

NO sleep…NO workout Argh……x( x(

When I got home the weather was so pleasant that I went for a walk I walked an hour and 20 minutes got them legs real good. I got back home took bath prepared for work in bed by 9:30 I tossed and turned all freaking night, looked up it was 1 o’clock I was pissed and on top of all that had not one sleeping pills “I will today” I woke up tired and mad.

TraciX: I loooooove your website,:D :) I am so proud of you, nice! I’m soooo happy you are back with us, glad everything worked out with Sandy. I’m going to start my job search today I need X bucks BAD or else cable and internet is going bye-bye as well as a few other things. It’s not good.

SandraX: are you running out doors or TM? What is Fluid Power? Is there a website? lol full of questions this morning. Enjoy your workout.


Workout this morning WAS suppose too had been P90X C/B + Arx. Now, that’s been moved to tomorrow. Tonight, Strike Zone and maybe another walk if it doesn’t rain. I shall see.
 
Good morning,
Today was Cardio Fusion mixed cardio premix plus LIC abs. Tonite will be a bike time trial. I'm trying to psyche myself up for it today. Hoping that darned wind doesn't blow too hard tonite. My goal is to not get my heart rate up so high that I can't push at the end. DH and DS will be moving the woodstove into the house tonite. I'm praying that no damage is done to the tile when they set it down as it weighs over 500#.

Debra, glad you got the rest day in. Sorry about the marital woes. I think we've all been there before. Makes it soooo difficult with your DH being away. Hoping he can get back to the States soon. Thank heavens Tillie is not like that dachshund you described. Sounds like that one needs the dog whisperer. How did the kitty clip job turn out?

Cheryl, sounds like you had a great time at the RT, like everyone else. Hope you can work out that stiffness with "the flight of the bumblebee" workout (MIC).

Nicole, how was the beach? Good job on adjusting the rotation to your needs. Yep, it is slight on weight work. My next rotation will have more for sure. Your DH is right about dreading a headwind. On a bike it feels so strong, but when you stop, it seems like there is just a slight breeze.

Laurie, happy belated birthday! So sorry you are under the weather. You are way too busy most days to stay sick for long. Know you will bounce back quickly.

Swifty, what a great feeling you are enjoying from the RT! Did you get the lawn mowed?

Carol, welcome to this checkin. Sounds like you are really doing well with your workouts. My sister homeschooled all 4 of her kids and did a great job. Nice to have you here.

Wendy, thanks so much for posting about the trip! You are so cute!!! No wonder Phil works like a dog on things around the house!!! Hope the cat came down from the tree. Way to go on the levitation holds too. I think my arms are just too short. I need to try it with some blocks, but I'm too lazy to go get something like that. I emailed you last night to see if you will give me the details that you omitted from your yesterday's post. Inquiring minds and all...

Traci, soooooo glad to have you back with us. Sounds like a very, very productive time last week! Doesn't it feel great? Hoping that your client (the marathon runner) goes well. Do you know what her goals are yet? Way to go on finishing the stairs at bay.

Sandra, have fun with CC#2. I did CC#2 (revised) the other day on the bike, but my mp3 player is not set up right and it skipped the chapters around on it, oh well.

Teddygirl, what's up with the no sleep thing? Darn I hate when that happens. I went thru a time like that a couple years ago, no fun. Haven't had any problems lately as long as I don't drink any coffee in the evening. What kind of work are you looking for?

Just popping on really quick to say good morning. Gotta take the kitty for a clipping (no fun for anyone!) and go to the grocery store and get DD a backpack for school and get a hummingbird feeder (more critters to add to the list) and pay our quarterly taxes (which I forgot to do in June) and of course, hopefully get GS legs in today! Will bbl to catch up!

Traci....Just wanted to let you know it brought a smile to my face to see you started the thread this morning...maybe the planet are back in alignment now! I will check out your website when I get a free minute on the computer. Glad you're home!

Rotation: Cathe July '07
Workout: Week 4/Day 1/Step Blast Premix 11, Volleyball Doubleheader

I'm feeling a bit better today, this workout is what is on my schedule. I will see how I feel when I get home. If I have to, I can take a nap before I have to head out to volleyball. It is suppose to be a humid one tonight, so I may not be doing a workout. Volleyball will be enough for me. :D

I received a beautiful bunch of flowers from my DH. Oldest DD gave me a frog pin that I absolutely LOVE!!! And youngest DD gave me a purple Gladiola (my favorite color). Today I was able to smell the pretty flowers I received. I'm hoping my oldest DD feels up to making some brownies today. She now has gotten this lovely cold also. x( She started cross country yesterday, and came home and slept most of the day. Woke up hacking, sore, and then TTOM hit her. DH kept her home from CC today! I'm guessing that will probably be a good idea, since it rained all night. Don't need her getting pneumonia, running through the mud.

Thanks to everyone for the b'day wishes. I missed out on being with my girl friends last night. They called wondering where I was. Of course after she heard me talking, she understood why I was in bed. :) Our Pastor from church thought I was my DH when I answered the phone yesterday also. :D Guess I had a deep voice.

Wendy, I'm going to send you my e-mail when I get home from work. I haven't had a chance to read yesterdays post, but will get there sometime today. Just have to catch up on some of my work. :)

Traci, LOVE the web page. And so glad that you and your DH where able to solve the stair problem for Sandy. Bet she likes being at the bay on weekends also. :)

Amy, Glad you are your DH are having a great time. Glad everyone is ok after the fender bender.

Jeanette, I'm crossing my fingers that your tile is OK when the stove is placed. Hope your time trial goes well, and the wind makes itself scarce.

Carol, Welcome to the thread. I know a lot of us are going to be starting another round of P90X, I have to look when I scheduled my next round. I am looking at doing Cathe's new workouts in Sept, and then Barry's Bootcamp. Mine just might land in November or December. When I do another round it will be my third one. :)

Debra, You are one busy woman today!

Sandra, We only have 3 weeks until the girls are in school also. Seems like I was just saying that they where home for the summer. Still need to go shopping for clothes, school supplies, and shoes.

Good Morning Ladies!!!

An old acquaintance called me this morning out of the blue. I'm taking my three girls to on a little hike with her this afternoon. It's been ages since we last saw one another. It'll be nice to catch up and see how her little ones have grown!

I haven't decided which Cathe workout to do today. Maybe BC if I feel up to it or cardio fusion.

Quick question:
On days where you do both cardio and weights, which do you do first and why? I would think cardio, but what do I know. ;-)

Off to open another window for some personals before I get ready to go.

Both lawns mowed before 830am and just in the knick of time as heat is unbearable once again…. Cardio checked off my list for today! WooHoo!

I must have worked harder on those stairs than I thought because even with all the junk food for 5 days I lost a pound! WOOHOO!!

Lets see if I can catch up a bit with the best gals on the planet….

Oh my dear dear TG! Sounds like you are still dodging those curve balls of life. The only thing I know for certain is that life has a way of working itself out if we try and stay in the flow. OBVIOUSLY there is something better waiting for you on the other side of the turmoil… Have you tried journaling before bed (No tv or newspapers too) … Sometimes my lack of sleep is due to a ba-zillion odds & ends in my head. My favorite thing to do is to journal all my concerns and turn them all over to the big guy… and say "this day is done- its all yours to make right." Just a thought. Thanks for visiting the www. I am eager to get it fine tuned but also know that it will all come in good time.

How wonderful that you are staying so active all summer! Do you ever run out of juice? You must have a secret for how you accomplish so much (and so well I might add) – I’ll hold good thoughts for TT and no catastrophes w/ the stove! My friends goals in her words are to tone up. I actually have to Lol a bit because she is about 18% BF and no muscle definition at all. I think her last trainer just had her doing lite weights very high reps… I am starting her off with a Pyramid System… That ought to awaken her muscles! On your ipod dilemma…. Mine does the same thing if I play my CC from the playlist… It works fine (in order) when I start off selecting ALBUMS and go from there.

You will find your way to a better place… sometimes I think that when a situation gets so shi**y that it actually helps “whatever” the outcome feel better… Like taking off a tight shoe at the end of a long day. If you are going to do them back to back then the rule is to do whichever is your greatest focus first…. If you can split it up to AM/PM then I think you can pick your peaks… For me my energy level is highest in AM so I do cardio but my actual strength is greater in afternoon so I do Wts… Again- all your picks are ADORABLE!

This morning I ran 60 min with partner and then did all the bonus sections of B&G (just 25 min total). I'm changing things around after hearing that presentation at the RT about lower body pooch. Lots of upper shoulder back, lots of stretching, and lots more core and abs. I think pullovers are probably good for the kind of thing she was talking about and I love to do those and I love to go heavy. It's extra pullovers for me from now on and abs will be every other day at a minimum }( }( }(

AmyX!!! You were in great shape for the RT!!! I kept gushing about your arms to Phil all the way to his mom's house. Jenn called me once she got to Conshohoken saying it was smooth sailing on the way to the turnpike. That was a relief to know. Maybe I should start mowing my grass. I got out of that when I was on bedrest with the twins. But, I doubt, I'll want to do it. I'll be too scared to run over any bunnies. We sometimes get alot of them in our backyard. I was reading the Who's Who book last night. I love your dd's name!!! As soon as I have a moment, I'll be taking the picture of you down.

ETA: Good News! Phil doesn't have to regrout the countertop tiles. We have hard well water that left a white haze on the charcoal grout and absolute black granite tiles. All he did was buff it all down with some water and vinegar! He couldn't work on the kitchen last night. He had to insall a new battery in my car. It needed jumped a couple of times this weekend and once yesterday. Hopefully, I'll have a sink this week! Thinking positive thoughts! :)

My body was hurting Sunday and Monday. I thought for sure I would be sore ALL week as I pushed myself harder and LONGER than ever. And, you know about my pity endurance and those hateful blasts!!! But, I feel great today. It's almost too good to be true. I have to wonder what's that all about! And, why the heck am I questioning it! It's a good feeling to recover faster than what I expected. Off I go to check out your link. Then I've gotta get ready!!!

Traci-X -- Your site looks GREAT!! Congrats on being able to accept paying customers now. I wish your business great success!! I'm doing some good, heavy weight work in preparation for Cathe's 4 day split, too :)

Jeanette -- What are you training for? Good luck with your time trial tonight!!

Laurie -- Your 3rd rotation? Kudos to you!! I'll need all tips I can get!

Wendy -- Did the kitty ever come down out of that tree?? I hope you had a fun time with your old friend! My vote is for BC today since we went light on weights over the weekend. My quads are FINALLY feeling better. Yesterday afternoon the DOMS started to ease a bit. My glutes are a bit sore, too. I did GS BSB yesterday to rest the lower body and I have some easy RS on tap today (and I'll probably take it easy on the 6" step instead of the usual 8" one). When I want to do both strength and cardio, I usually do the weight work first. I've read scientific reasons why it's better to do it that way, but for me, it's about focus. I find it hard to focus on my good form and muscle work when I'm tired out from cardio. I like to focus on my weight work and then have a good sweat and get moving with cardio. Just my two cents ;-) Do you "do school" with your girls year round or just the usual school year? I love your "life after the RT" pics of you and Jenn :D

Nicole -- LOL! I'm used to being "the baby" of groups. I'm glad to take over that title from you ;-)

Laurie -- Happy Belated Birthday!!

Amy -- It sounds like you're close by, too :) I live about an hour south of Philly in the very NE corner of MD. I hope you had a great time "doing the city", the weather couldn't have been better!!

Busy day again- I revamped my www by adding some different quotes on each page – gives it a more personal feel to me….

P90X Chest & Back completed…I admit to using MANY expletives today ladies- WAAAAAAY to long of a Tony break to be good for me. I HATE that man’s chest work! OK I LOVE the results, I LOVE the man, - he really is a sick pain freak tho! I can already feel my chest & back burning so tomorrow should be great fun…I was very very pleased with the # of toe push ups and poundage on back work tho- I felt strong like a bull today- must have been the 5 days of lifting wood and pounding nails.

R/T’ers- I wanted to ask- How many of those “cathe” pants were in the gym? I cracked up seeing everyone in those- Nike needs to pay Cathe a premium for that one!

Okay back again...still have some chores to do before I can get to legs...but I missed you guys and wanted to catch up! My kitty is back from the groomer...and does she look funny! She looks like she has a really tight sweatsuit on with her fuzzy head sticking out. She was not at all happy about the process...it apparently took 3 people to handle my 12 pound cat!

Then I get home and take the dog out....and guess what?!? She pulled me down in the driveway...*&^%$# dog!! Right on my buttocks..I am going to have a huge bruise on my left cheek and it is very sore. She saw a neighbor out and was headed over to visit, but I had a hold of the leash. So, down I went.

Anyhoo...enough critter tales....time for personals....

Traci...Dear woman, thank you for all of the encouraging words. Love the changes you made to the website...I looked at it briefly this morning before I headed out and then again once you said you had added some things...Love the add ons! Definitely made it more personal...now we just need a picture of your smiling face to make it complete! Glad you're down a pound...that's always a nice surprise. Have fun in your cold shower...at least your cardio is done for today. Sounds like you were really able to bring it with Tony today too!

Laurie...Glad to hear you are doing better...Sounds like you had a nice birthday even though you were sick. Sorry DD has it too...yuck! Good luck with volleyball tonight...that definitely sounds like plenty of a workout to me!

Nicole...Hope the chiro did you some good. I hate it when my back is out. I have a massage scheduled next week after DD heads back to school with my new masseuse...can't wait! Yeah, I can talk to my mom about DH...but she gets mad...I am definitely not close enough to DH's mother to do that. I bet you worked up a good sweat doing Imax3!

Teddygirl..Sorry no sleep for you! That stinks! I am sure you will be able to get your workout in this evening.

Sandra...Dear lady, the count down for the beginning of school has started! Glad you got your run in...and I will be doing GS later today. I have lost my Shiva dvds somewhere in the move...ARRGGH! I am not sure where they are. I thought I packed all my workout dvds with me (I was afraid the movers would lose them) and I realized the other day that I can't fin my Shiva! Darn it!

Jeanette...Yes, my friend's pooch definitely needs some kind of trainer! Good luck with your trial tonight...I will send calm wind vibes your way. Hope the stove gets moved in without incident...that must be a bit nerve wracking!

Swifty...Glad you had a great time on the RT....sounds like you came home to a lot of chores...I would have thought that the good fairies would have come to do all of that for you! Good luck on getting the grass mowed...more cardio for you!

Wendy...Yes, DH and I are going through a tough time...and yes, he is still in Russia. In fact, I'm not sure when he is coming back to the States again for a visit. He is talking about meeting in Paris for a long weekend, but we'll see! I am hoping not to kill anymore critters...We have lots and lots of wildlife around here because I live in the boonies. My rotation is this...

Day1 Upper body split + abs
Day2 Cardio
Day3 Upper body split + abs
Day4 Yoga
Day5 Cardio
Day6 Legs + abs
Day7 Rest

This is my basic rotation...I like to leave open my cardio because I never know what I am going to be in the mood for....or what I will have time for...So for my first week I am doing GS for the upper body work and legs and then next week I will do SH for upper body and legs and just alternate...I am thinking for about 6 weeks or until I get really bored with it! Also...I wrote the rest day as the last...but that is really a floating day for me...just depending on what is going on in my life and level of fatigue, etc. Just as I am typing this I realized I was supposed to do upper body today instead of legs...oops! Well, I guess it's good I haven't done it yet! You can always add on a little cardio if 2 days isn't enough for you...or take out the yoga for another cardio day. HTH! Have fun on your hike!

Tracy...Hope you are having a blast in Aspen! I guess you'll be heading home soon.

Cheryl...I would be interested to hear what the RT speaker had to say about LB pooch...just briefly. Sounds like you had a great workout today...it's always good to have someone to workout with.


Okay..gotta get my sore bottom off the chair and get the rest of my chores done. I realized that I actually do a upper body workout today instead of legs...so I will be doing GS C&T...Keep your fingers crossed that I will be able to do the push ups!

Chiro done! Now I have a headache:( I have to see him again on Friday for one more tweek.

Imax 3 kicked my butt! I probably would have been cursing at Cathe had I done the whole thing. I am glad I am to a point that I can forgive myself if I don't do an hour plus workout.

It is soooo hot here today. It is near 100 degrees and the hunidity is outrageous for So Cal.

Traci-X, I was so glad to see your post this morning! It's great to have you back in the frey:) I'm glad you were able to get the stairs fixed for Sandy. That will make your trips to the bay so much better. Love the new quotes. I agree they make the website more YOU;) How exciting to get started on this new adventure! What a great job to be an encourager for people. Just don't forget to surround yourself with people who encourage you as well. Way to go on losing a pound. I have gained 7 in one month and I am grossed out! My eating has been eratic and I know that's most of it. I also switched to more cardio this month and know I do better with more strength workouts. I am doing GS and PS next week so we'll see if that helps. Can't wait for the new series!!! No, not on the IL just dealing with a stinker of a back. I am having a hard time doing reverse crunches and coming up from sun salutations with a flat back. I hope it heals soon.

SandraX, Hope you had fun with CC and yoga. I reall yneeded to get some in today but alas, I am out of time, again:) I hope to get it in tomorrow and work out what the chiro stirred up in there.

Anointed, I hope you are able to figure out your money woes soon. That always makes life a bit more stressful:( Get some sleeping pills and get some sleep soon:)

JeanetteX, Good luck on the time trial tonight. At least you should beat last month's time since the wind was bad then as well. Let me know how the stove turns out. I would love to tile our hearth but DH says it's too much trouble. I would tell him it's easy but I know how much work it's been for you:D

DebraX, LOL! ROFL! I am picturing you falling on your bum:) Darned dog, nothing worse than sore buns! Glad the cat got all clipped without incident, well for you anyway;) Your rotation looks good. I figure mine will be close, but I have to regiment it so I will stay on task:) I go back to the hiro on Friday and we'll see how it is after that. Right now I have a splitting headache from my adjustment:(

LaurieXX, What timing this sickness had for both you and DD:( At least she will see marked improvement fast since she was sick the first week:) Yummy, brownies:9 Wanna send some my way? I actually just made some No Pudge brownies. Those are so good! Good luck with the double header tonight. You'll have to post some pics of you playing.

WendyX, QOTD, I do my cardio after weights because it stretches it all out a bit and I can give my all to lifting heavier. I do interval training sometimes as well. Way to go on levitation holds. I cannot get my butt off the ground for the life of me. I've got to try it with yoga blocks because I wonder if my arms are just too short. I'll let you know if it works:) Have fun on your hike today? How nice to have someone to go with. So glad Phil doesn't have to regrout:) YEAH!!!

Cheryl, Oh I do wish I had been at RT with you! Sounds like lots of good info was exchanged. I am focusing heavily on upper body next rotation with one leg workout a week and cardio here and there. I guess we'll see how it goes.

Carol, So glad you will have Weny as a partner doing the X. It's always good yto have an encourager. I did it with Swift Amy, Wendy and Laurie. Great group! I am going to do another rotation in November I think. This time I am going to do the lean roatation and see how it goes. I was homeschooled from 5th grade until I graduated and I loved it! I wish I had the patience to do the same with my three. It is better for them to get alone time away from mom at this point:D

Today I tackled Rhythmic Step, but I took it easy on my still recovering legs and only used the 6" step (I usually do 8" with that workout). It still has such a high fun factor, step is really my favorite :D :D :D

TraciX -- LOL about Tony's chest work. He IS pretty much a pain freak, I'm convinced, too ;-) I think Cathe is getting there herself, though... There were definitely several people who had "Cathe outfits" at the RT. One lady had the entire outfit from B&G...

Debra -- Sorry I missed your post yesterday :-( I'm still trying to figure out who everyone is, lol. Thanks for welcoming me so warmly :D I hope your "heiny" feels better soon ;-)

Nicole -- Imax 3 is a TOUGH workout!! LOL about away time from mom.
