Good afternoon,
Bike ride was good today, but very, very cold up at the summit. Glad the others talked me into bringing my tights for the downhill. We didn't go as far as we wanted to as it was just too cold. It was actually lightly snowing up on top. My hands were like ice cubes coming down the hill. Not fun. I was fine on the way up of course, but didn't bring enough clothes for the return trip down the hill. My girlfriend and I are going to ride again tomorrow after work and do another hill climb to make up for the shorter ride today.
Traci, so you think Billy Blanks is a good cardio workout? I think his workouts and counting bug a lot of people so you don't hear about him a whole lot, but I remember when I was first starting that he motivated me a lot. Now I'm going to have to put Vertigo on my Netflix queue. I'm also bad in a boat that's going fast. I want to jump down into the bottom and wonder why we have to go so fast on the water. I ordered a throw for my new couch online today. Also ordered the workout "Squeeze". Lorajc from the Hardcores and others are saying they really feel it. Guess it's more like Iballet and Fluidity and those other non-weighted leg workouts. Intrigued me so I ordered.
Brand New Butt sounds great, may have to check into that one.
Lea, I highly recommend Bryan Kest. I just got done loaning out my Bryan Kest beginner 20 minute workout to my girlfriend that I rode with today. She wants to start some yoga so I loaned her that one and a Sarah Ivanhoe Crunch yoga video. Hope she likes them. I'm with Tracy in saying that Bryan is tougher than Eoin Finn. I really don't like when my DH does laundry. He takes it out of the dryer, but doesn't fold it. Just throws it in a pile on the hall carpet. Then he does another load, adds to pile, etc. Thinks he's doing something really good when I have to do all the folding. Putting clothes in the washer and dryer is the easy part. Thanks for the help, but no thanks.
Wendy, I was cracking up about your DH asleep and you waking him up to take pictures and then you said the pics never happened. I was thinking something else was happening. What kind of dog is Baby? I forgot. Good doggie!! Glad you caught the filthy little critter. I got some sage colored pillows, browns, golds, browns w/poppy color in them, tans. They look good. I ordered a throw online today too. I guess I will look for parchment paper by the wax paper and other goods, or by the baking stuff. Yep, we chat when we are riding. Sometimes on hill climbs, we ride at our own pace and then regroup at the top of the hill. Today's ride had a headwind as you were going uphill for some parts of it. Not one of the more pleasant rides, but makes you stronger. We are doing another ride tomorrow night and think the weather will be warmer and less breezy.
Sandra, I liked Strikezone also when I did it. However, the bright colors are like AAAAGGGGHHHHHH! Make it stop!!! My eyes!!! I thought Janis was good, it just was dated and I kept feeling like I was in a barn for some reason. Those hook kicks are different for me too. LOL re: how strong the urge to reproduce is. Somewhere it didn't come to stay with me. Once was enough. Been very happy with the one and the 2 stepkids. Never felt like I needed any more. Your DD#1's birth sounded really awful. So glad we live in the times we do. Back in the old days, well, you know what happened to women and children in those conditions. Back when I had my son in 1981, they never even considered pain medications for women, everything was supposed to be "natural". Glad it is different now for those who want/need something to take the edge off. Hope you figure out what you want to do to get that leanness back. What's worked for me is a Slim Series type rotation, but then again, maybe it's my laziness in not wanting to exert so soon again with P90X. I'm still pretty happy with the non-puffiness going on. I'm going to shake it up with Fitnessfreak rotation starting tomorrow, one that worked for me quite a number of months before. I'll try it for a few weeks and see if I still see results. I really don't want any more mass at all, just less puff. Your story about your DD and the stairs is hilarious! So glad she wasn't badly hurt. What a hoot!
Amy, so nice that you can make a difference where you work. Are you a nurse? What a great profession, if you are. Did you get the yoga in today? The Cinnabon rolls sound yummy.
Debra, a dog park sounds absolutely wonderful! Know our German Shorthair would love to go play with other dogs. The little dachshund, not so sure about that, though she'd probably warm up after a while. Hope the weather was good for you. How is your DD today? Seems like kids get over colds much faster than adults. Once I get a cold, I can't seem to shake the symptoms of mucous and coughing for weeks. Very irritating. Seemed like when I was a kid, a week tops was as long as they lasted.
Swifty, hope you had a nice time with your parents. What did you make? Bet you will love the lawn tractor. I love ours, though it is getting old now, but still works.
I'd better go now, I started this post about 3 hours ago, but had some interruptions.
