X'ers ..........SUNDAY

Taking time out from game...

Steph: So happy to hear that infection is something easily corrected.. big load off your mind I'm sure! I sure hope after last recovery week I make some SERIOUS BF% gain (loss)... I'm stalled at 20% so I hope with strength gains comes decrease in BF! On Core Cardio... I did it yesterday and its a mix of alot of X.
Prison Cell/ Chatarunga PushUp! ugh, Side Kicks like Kenpo, Abranome-core Synish, etc...Its got 5 kinds of pushups- variations on what we know & love, MasonTwist (ARX) w/ bike maneuvers... some plyo type moves, some Legs from L&B. None of them are EXACTLY what we do but variations. It paces just exactly like Plyo X. On Avatar... I'm far right standing (purple sweater) DH is holding little girl in pink. LOL on your puppy and shredding clothes! OMG thats funny but only because it wasnt one of my dogs! I had to stay away from the "reading" thread as I KNEW I'd be on Amazon way overspending... havent read my last 5 arrivals yet! (except Eat Clean)

Tracy: I'm just starting on the flax oil- I already take the primrose so HOPEFULLY things will even out hormonally!

LEA: On post P90X - lets take a poll.....

TO ALL: We phase 3'ers wanna know if you want us to keep checking in here with you or branch off into a Post P90X Check In (of course we'd still visit and give our 2 cents! lol
What does everyone think would be best?

Jeanette: 50 miles?????????? * picks jaw off ground*
Good heavens woman... in COLD .... thats just a little *sick* dont ya think? lol
Do you have a 50 mile "path" you follow? I cant imagine where I'd end up if I started riding and got 50 miles out... definitely a different county! DH still not home so Door Gym sitting patiently in box....very sad, having a new toy and cant play with it yet...Your dogs sound about as ferrocious as mine! Big BABIES

Wheres X ?????
Whens Debra coming home??????
Wheres DB???????
I know Lauries OK-
Wheres GAYLE?????
Wheres MONICA?????
Its just not the same around here without the entire gang! Do you all have a life outside Cathe land????

Well Back to cheer on my Bears... who were leading when I left the room!

Hi all again,

Keep your fingers crossed for me. It's snowing, so maybe school will be closed tomorrow, or at least a delayed opening. One inch and this whole area is paralyzed.

Jeanette – Glad you like the new helmet. I need a new one. I have an old mtn. bike one. I’m sure I look stupid amongst the road bikes, but I don’t care. Be careful and take advantage of your rest week. Phase 3 is challenging and the extra week is taking its toll. I wish I was out riding. We finally have bad weather here. I envy you on getting some errands taken care of. I didn’t do what I should have yesterday nor today, so that leaves way too much to do after work next week.

Traci – I think that I have hit a weight (iron weights) plateau too. I may have to stay at the weights I’m doing now and build up a few more reps before I increase again. I just feel like I’m flirting with an injury because it’s all I can do to keep my form. Do you really follow that eating program religiously? I am impressed. I’m trying so hard, but not achieving anything like that. I can’t seem to get everything together to take with me to work. How do you eat those egg whites? The flax oil is like a drug for me. It evens out my hormones and allows me to deal with almost anything.

Lea - I always feel better when I eat right too. It’s just so hard for me to get it all together. You must really live in a football household. I can only watch if I have something else to do too. I’m too hyper to just watch tv.

Stephanie – Glad DD doesn’t have a UTI. My mom had the same problem with soap. I guess it can happen to anyone. I’m also avoiding housework. I have washed a couple of loads of clothes and made chicken soup for the family, but that is all.

I vote for continuing to check in here, but I’ll do what ever the group wants. We have developed a little community and I enjoy everyone’s comments. I’ve learned a lot and it’s been so motivating.

Hi Friends!

Classic Hybrid/Ph1/Wk3/Day20

Tues-Chest and Back / Turbo Jam20 + Ab Ripper
Wed- Cathe's Hardcore Extreme #3 (HIIT, plyometrics)
Thur- Shoulders and Arms + Ab Ripper X
Fir- Kenpo
Sat- Legs and Back + Ab Ripper
Sun- Cathe's Imax 2

HIIT, Imax2, felt tired in my legs, next time I will not follow a Leg workout with HIIT. Perhaps a nice run would have been better but temps and wind chill were very low today.

52:00
Avg HR 136/167
Kcal 401

Then I thought I'd try Core Max 3, my fave and ended up dropping my 8lb medicine ball on my face and jaw while doing "rocket shoots"! That's when I knew it was time for my recovery week!!!

I am here, still lurking and it's so nice when someone asks where I am. Sometimes I feel like so many of you are at a certain spot in your rotation that it might be boring to see me doing my Hybrid.

I love my hybrid! I need to closely balance weight training with cardio because my BF% is >25%. But I feel great! I am slimming down and weight is down about 4 pounds in 3 weeks. Slow but steady. I certainly haven't been perfect in my nutrition but realistic...like a lifestyle. I tend to eat clean on workdays and then losen up a bit on th weekends. But never binging or emotionally eating.

So my hybrid ends up looking like this:

Weighted workout/abs- P90X
HIIT- Cathe
Weighted workout/abs- P90X
Kenpo or KPC- P90X
Weighted workout- P90X
HIIT or steady state- Cathe or outdoor run

I enter my first recovery week and will follow P90X recovery week as outlined.

Finally, I think we should just stay the "Xers".

X

Phase 3'ers: I am begging you all to continue checking in here! We've built a community that won't be the same without you. Also, we need you input, since you've all been there and can share some thoughts. Finally, it will be cool to see what workouts you're doing while we try to come up with our own post P90X rotations. You can let us know what is working and what isn't.

X - Hey, there! OMG, I hope you're all right after dropping the medicine ball! That's a sign a recovery week is needed! I'm really liking your hybrid that you made:

Weighted workout/abs- P90X
HIIT- Cathe
Weighted workout/abs- P90X
Kenpo or KPC- P90X
Weighted workout- P90X
HIIT or steady state- Cathe or outdoor run

Are you doing any Cathe's for the weighted workouts or just P90X? This looks similar to what I'd like to do post P90X, only incorporate more Cathe, since I'm kind of getting bored with these particular workouts right now. The only thing is I would like another kickboxing workout other than KenpoX or KPC. I do have Mindy Mylrea's Kick Butt Bootcamp and Kick Max. Maybe I could sub those.

Off to do more laundry!
Steph

Traci - Congratulations on the Bears win. Boy, it sure was coming down at the end of the game.

X - Ouch!!! I hope that you are all right. That hurts.

Lea

WooHoo BEARS!!!!!!!!!!!

Now I feel better......

Yet 1 more X'er injury to report.... I was moving my DBs off the bed and dropped a 12'er on my pinky finger... it was black within 10 minutes.... WHATS UP WITH US??? lol

Forgot to cast my check in vote-
I'd like to stay together and see this thing thru with everyone. We have really learned so much from each other and every person brings a different and enlightening perspective to the table. I think when X & Gayle cross the finish line we can decide what to do next. Thats just my vote but I will joyfully go with the group!

TRACY: My fingers are crossed for a FULL day off tomorrow!!!! "flirting w/ injury" describes how I feel beautifully Trac, my body is really in a state today after this mornings workout... perhaps this is all suppose to be part of the Extra Week experience to really shake things up. I guess I am trying to walk that line between "bringing it" & being plain stupid and hurting myself..... "trust the process...." I suppose. On the eating... YEP- I can be an angel about food except when I go to a restaurant... All the foods listed were already in my house when I read my book (I kinda eat boring) but I wasnt eating frequently enough or making sure I had the good carbs w/ enough protein. Thats the key for my old bod I guess. Funny because I still pack my day up just like when I worked... That keeps me out of trouble being at home so much. I LOVE egg White... lol ... I use a lot of spices tho and so many veggies that sometimes its hard to actually see the eggs.

X: HI THERE!!!!! I so love when you check in and list your Hybrid... my goodness its a wealth of info for me as I look to self create life after P90X but sticking to the core principles... Its like you're doing all my research for me already!!!!!!! "next time I will not follow a Leg workout with HIIT".... GOOD IDEA!!!!!! lol OMG on dropping DB on face!!!!!!!!1 Are you OK? Will you have a bruiser to explain tomorrow? Please be careful.... its not so funny now when Tony says things like "dont push it here you'll end up with a DB in your face." You POOOOOR thing! We are certainly becoming a little injury prone group lately arent we????

STEPH: I sure wish you hadnt said laundry.... I totally had it blocked from my mind! lol Gotta go do that now tonight so DH has his favorite socks in the morning... I could just sray Febreeze on them & stick'em the drawer hmmmmmmmmmmm...lol

LEA: Woo Hoo!!!!!! Who's your pick in game going on now... Colts & ????.... see, I only love football when its my team playing... not a die hard like you!

Have a great "last few weekend hours!"

Traci - It's hard. I like Peyton Manning (at least one of the Manning's have to bring it, his brother sure didn't for us :( ), but I also love the Pats. We will see. Hopefully for my in-laws sake, the Pats win. We are Giant's fans over here, but I surely do love the game and sad that it is ending soon. Oh well, baseball is coming up. DH is a die hard sports fan.

Hi all,

Classic/Phase 2/Week 3/Day 7:

Thought I'd check back in. My bike ride was good today, ending up with 40 miles, with the last 10 miles basically spinning in the middle chain ring as I hooked up with a couple other racer guys who were just spinning after their hard ride yesterday. I checked the temp when I got back (called the time & temp phone number) and it was 38 degrees. I think riding in the cold counts for more miles so even if I didn't hit 50 miles today, it's good enough for me. I think I'll skip the Xstretch tonite as I see that Yoga is on the schedule for tomorrow.

I vote that we stay with the Xers until after X and Gayle are finished too. Love this checkin and all the ladies in it. I get so much inspiration. Don't think I could have brought it as well and will definitely need everyone's help with the last Phase as it sounds like a tough one.

Stephanie, which GS workouts did you get? All of them? That is so funny (for me, but I know not you) about your dog eating your packages. Glad he/she grew out of that. We had a lab that I adored. Her first year she chewed up drip system, the deck, firewood, hoses, anything laying outside. Never anything in the house. That's got to be quite the workout cycling with a 30 pound child on board! And I used to worry about the weight of my cycling shoes or lighter wheels! Love my new helmet and got a few compliments on it today. It's definitely faster looking than how I pedaled today.

Tracy, how much flaxseed oil should one take a day and in what form? Any recommendations? I will definitely keep in mind my Recovery Week time. I need to save up my strength for next Phase and still bring it to each workout. No snow here on the west coast. Should be moving up into the high 40's next week, woohoo! Love that! And clear too!

Traci, don't feel too bad about no new gains for CST this time. Hey, it's incredible what we do anyway. If you are feeling good, that's a winner in my book. Sometimes when I'm walking on my break at work, I think about some things with my body that I'd like to improve but lately I am reminded at how good I feel cardiowise, healthwise, and no real aches and pains. I just feel so strong, even though I may not look like it to anyone else. I like my carriage, the way I hold myself. I feel young and strong. We are all so fortunate and fortunate to be able to talk to each other on here. Thanks again, Traci, for starting this whole thing up. Thanks for the email. I ordered it and also printed out your daily menus. Sounds doable for me. My eating gets soooo boring. I'm kind of lazy too and just grab stuff from the fridge in the morning and when I get home from work. My very favorite thing to eat is oatmeal, yummy! No, we don't have a bike path, we ride on country roads and are blessed with barely any traffic, especially on Sunday mornings. Ouchy, dropping your DB on your finger! Bet you felt sick to your stomach! I'm always worried about dropping one on my foot. I have super sensitive feet (hate the dogs to even step on the tops of them). Hope the pain is leaving.

X - way to go on the weight loss!!! So far, no weight loss for me. I'm anxious to see after Recovery Week if I have more definition. I didn't really think so, but the pictures showed I did. Glad I took pictures (I say that now, we'll see). I like your Hybrid approach. I'm thinking that in future rotations, I'll add more leg work in as I'm not seeing the results I was hoping for, especially today wearing my tight black cycling tights, thick, short legs, though they are a bit more toned. Wow, you dropped your medicine ball on your face? Were you hurt? Hope not. I sometimes use a DB and have to squeeze it with my knees, hoping I won't drop it either.

Question, how are you all going to do Cathe's weight workouts now that you have done P90X heavy weights? Will you do it in the same cadence as she does or to your own timing of lifting? I haven't tried it yet. Not sure what will happen, but I have the new workout sheets so I can keep track of my weights and reps anyways. Just wondering if the music will throw me off or not.

Got to go and eat now,

Jeanette
