Hi again. I found my way back to the computer. Go figure.
I wound up doing HardCore Extreme #2: Hi/lo Intervals. I think that's my favourite of the three, although they're all terrific. I like how it so gradually climbs in intensity until you're literally blasting off at the end. My legs were feeling a bit shaky at the start, and my balance was a bit wobbly, so I had a thought during the warm up that this might be the day that I change workouts mid-stream. But once Cathe took us through the first LowMax blast with all those squats the blood finally got to the legs, the joints finally got lubed up, and I was off to the races. Ended up having a ball.
I meant to tack on some pilates ab work, but forgot until I was in the shower. Oops.
TracyX - I wonder what you'll end up doing today. If it's nice outside, I'll bet you're going to do some kind of walk/run, and some yoga.
Teddygirl - Oh my, between your sister and yourself, you must see more than enough of the medical community! Thank heavens you have each other to get through the tough times like these. Are you trying to do P90X + extra cardio on only 18 points a day?? My friend, you must eat more!! Of course you're eating all day....the X works you really intensely. Do NOT feel guilty for exceeding 18 points today. That's roughly 900 calories, and that's roughly half of what you likely need in order to build muscle. Obviously we're all different in our caloric needs, but regardless, 900 is too little for anyone who is working as intensely as you are.
Amy - Have a good time with YogaX today. I really enjoy that one. Have you received Power Yoga for Happiness yet? At the rate I'm going, you'll be trying it before I do!
LaurieX - LOL! Oh, I've had days like that. There are times when I come thisclose to pouring coffee in my cereal (not a bad idea, when you think about it), or putting the coffee pot in the fridge. I'm a bit worried that every time someone mentions "naked KenpoX", I automatically know you mean "bare foot." What's wrong with me that I no longer have a dirty mind? I'm getting old :-(
JeanetteX - I have to go back and read about your adventure yesterday. CTX Upper Body is terrific, isn't it? Those crazy 8's used to just nail me. It was my first exposure to Cathe's weight work, and took me some time to work up to. I have TMJ. I have something slightly askew with the entire right side of my body: jaw, shoulder, elbow, wrist, weaker abs, hip, ankle. Even when I nursed my DD's the right side was always the problem side. Obviously there's something wrong somewhere that's throwing the rest of me out of whack. Maybe Tracy knows something, with her mind-body connection philosophy. It's not enough to be noticeable, even to me, except for the fact that I exercise, which seems to make us more attune to our minor imbalances.
LeaX - Is it too late to change my order? Just kidding! Thanks for ordering them! According to the tracking of my package, it doesn't appear to have gone very far yet. I guess they're waiting to see if it will blow up, before sending it through customs?? Maybe putting it through a decontamination and quarantine procedure? Ooooh, now you're all curious about what I'm sending you ;-)
DebraX - LOL about gassing the baby!!! Why didn't I think of that?? It's the kind of thing that should come naturally to a bad mother like me
Yes, DH's work should reimburse us...as long as he remembers to pass on the receipts! He's terrible that way. Sometimes I swear his working costs us more money than he makes! So, what workout did you do today?
Wendy - the key is to pick the day 1/3 and 2/3 of the way through in which you are looking your best. If Day 30 lands on the day before your period, you absolutely should NOT take it then! Think of it as the 1/3 mark, not necessarily the 30 day mark. Since you're teaching your kids mixed fractions these days, you should be able to understand what I'm saying
Definitely take the pics before you start the heavy weight training for the next phase. And do a set of pushups and pull ups right before you take the picture, so you have a good pump in the muscles
When you go into horse stance, point your toes in whatever direction is comfortable for your knees and offers you good stabilization. Oh, and HCE#2 is waaay harder than YogaX
Nicole - I'm glad snow is such a novelty for your kids that they had fun playing in it, in April. If I see another snowflake....I hope Week Two goes well for you! Are you using a pull up bar, bands, or some other option?
I still need to go back and read the rest of yesterday's adventures, but first DD needs a diaper change, and then it might be tomorrow before I get back here. I managed to get a dental appointment at 5pm, near DH's work, so he's going to meet us at the mall nearby and feed the kids in the food court while I have my appointment. It's a gorgeous day here so I'm going to take the kids to park by the mall to play for a bit, first. They're obviously going to be freezing my gum; am I going to be able to eat dinner afterwards? Or should I fill the tank up first? I've never had dental surgery before.
Have a great day,
SandraX
