Xers ~~~ Monday~~~

Wendy...Yes...I have been to American Girl...DD is our only child and she is a bit spoiled, to say the least! While my DH was here from Russia, we took her down to the city and she got the doll of the year, Nikki...who actually looks a bit like my DD. No, haven't been to Oprah..had a couple of opportunities to go...just never got the chance. Chicago is a great city to visit. DD and I have been to the aquarium a couple of times...The last time we were there, actually, she was the kid who was picked to pet and feed the dolphins during the dolphin show...It was so awesome!!! They picked her out of a crowd of about a thousand people...so funny! Anyway it was a great experience for her. We've also been to the Museum of Industrial Science...also really cool. I have got to get her to the Field's Museum and the Planetarium before we get moved (if we do!) It's wonderful your DD is learning the harp...what a beautiful instrument. The snow and the wind are, of course, the things I'll miss least...I like this area a lot...it's just my DH works in Russia and all of our close friends and family live in and around NC. Take it easy on that thumb!

Have a great night!
Debra

Good evening ladies,

Was a windy day today and it is supposed to be windy tomorrow, which doesn't bode well for the time trial. Believe me, a tailwind does not make up for the headwind when you turn around. I'll just take my mp3 player and slog it out in the wind on the return trip.

Laurie, I'm really looking forward to the new furniture! They should have the delivery times posted online tomorrow night. I've heard that Mark Blanchard's yoga is tough. Think I heard that from Lorajc on the Hardcores. She's got just about every workout ever produced, I swear. She's very knowledgeable and gives great reviews. I did pretty well on my eating today except for a few chips and a couple chocolate pieces at work, and a small brownie someone placed on my desk while I was away. Compared to the other stuff I had this weekend, it seems pretty clean. I feel leaner already so guess I'm heading in the right direction. Did you get Tosca's book today? I loved singing Madrigals when I was in the choir.

Sandra, oooh, I love good lamb chops too. Waking up to a clean kitchen, hmmmm, now that's a new thought. I should try it sometime. I might like that. Your DH is right about the aero bars. They are tricky, but only in side winds or gusts for me. Otherwise, they are pretty comfortable and you can get your speed up a couple mph. Tomorrow is supposed to be windy so I may not be using them as much. It surely won't be any record beater. Hope we still have a good turnout. I figure I can only go up from there. I ride with a HRM and I keep it right around 159 or 160 bpm. Above that too much and I'll start to burn out but can sustain if I keep it around 159 or 160. My darned cyclo computer broke yesterday. I won't know my speed, I'll just go on perceived effort and heart rate. Hope you had a good workout today. I'm gearing up for next week doing heavier weight work again. Got to keep shaking things up.

Debra, sending very good vibes on the sale of your house! Hope CC#4 was fun for you. I've done it once and it's a toughie! I had a blast when furniture shopping a few weeks ago. Loved it and picked out a nice leather couch and loveseat and 2 nice lamps. Can't wait! I have all of the Cardio Coaches but haven't done both #6 versions or the Press Play one. I did #5 and really, really liked it. Think it is less than an hour long.

Katie, so sorry you haven't been feeling well. I'm in agreement that you should be well and rested before you start the X. It's a mentally and physically demanding program. Hope the antibiotics kick in soon.

Wendy, so sorry your DH is sick. Gosh, and he still worked out? That's determination or something. Sorry about your thumb/finger having an unhealing callous. Don't they make finger picks or something like guitar picks? Guess it wouldn't sound the same as the plucked sound. I've been out of the choir for about 3 years or more now. For me, if you don't use it, you lose it. It would take me a while to get back to where I was before voice-wise. I was never a lead singer type, love singing harmonies and making up different ones.
How was yoga today? I admit I hardly ever did YogaX in full, maybe only once. LOL re: plucking your DH's unibrow. My DH primps a lot in the bathroom, usually plucking mustache hairs. I swear he's in there more than I am. Hope the guy takes pictures at the electronic speed sign because judging from today's wind, it will be brutal tomorrow and we'll be crawling up that hill with a headwind in our face, mouth open, slobbering, etc. Not the best conditions, but I figure I like riding 1 hard ride a week so that will be it.

Tracy, you really sound like you are getting better. I sure hope so. You are one determined gal and I take my hat off to you. So many would quit, but you seem to be working thru it, yet listening to your body. My kitchen's not a whole lot bigger than 8X8. Would be nice to someday have a roomy one. Then maybe I'd like cooking. In DH's dreams.

Good night ladies,

Jeanette
