Happy Monday Xers! :eek: Who's ready for a little T-O-N-Y ????? :eek:
Aw the thrill of knowing I actually have a plan that works is intoxicating! I woke up at 1:30 thinking about ARX & Chest&Back...
:+ I think I recall a dream where I frantically kept upping my weights and got so upset when the highest I had was 20! NOW THATS A DREAM!!!!

*X pre pics posted... Its worse in pics isnt it???? ;) Now remember that the camera adds at least 10% in BF! How can we look so awesome & tiny in clothes? - Oh well- They are just making me more determined to stick CLEAN for awhile.

Wendy: I just love that DH loved Yoga! That has SHAMED me into doing Yoga X (not in full mind you!) this round! :D Hope you got a great nights sleep! I do recall getting (needing) more than 5 or 6 hours during phase 2 & 3. I also recall being VERY hungry all the time!!! You & DH seem super healthy already... Do you guys already eat clean?

Debra: How totally sweet & generous you are to have offered up part of your collection! I sent PM:* As much as I dislike all the food journaling and logging into Sparkspeople I must say that it keeps me much more honest and aware. Its almost like that trick that I could never remember to do until it was too late of asking yourself... Now am I hungry or bored or tired? LOL I only remember to ask when I'm on the last bite! :7

LEA: Was the first baseball game like putting on an old shoe??? There is so much hype around Houston with all the major leagues here that I cant help myself - I get all into sports even tho I rarely sit for an entire game! So on a scale of 1-10 how comfy are you with starting right up on Clean Eating today? I'm ALWAYS a 10 til about 2pm! :p

Sandra: Today is magic soup day as I KNOW I will be hungry starting tomorrow! Its Pumpkin Califlower Soup on the list! Thanks again for recipe!

TRACY: Is it only certain moves that aggrevate your back/butt? This has me scratching my head as I know you are faithful with stretching & yoga. Please see someone soon -

Jeanette: Hope you got good rest last night as I know Sundays can be a sleeping challenge! Perhaps now that you have solved a work challenge you will sleep better? Legs tired today at all????

1 cup Whole Grain Oatmeal w/ half cup blueberries + 4 Egg Whites
All set to get started on errands & laundry and Chest & back around 2 or 3pm.
ARX was NOT EASY!!! I did great on 1-3 then started to modify on 4-10 then Mason Twists I could only manage the 40 - none of the frenzy challenge! i can see my abs are quite Un-Trained once again... OH WELL- At least I know this rotation will be SHOCKING to my body! Thats a good thing.... BTW... I knew I missed Tony but gosh I was almost kissing the TV! I WUV THAT MAN!:*
 
Morning Xers,

Doubles/Ph1/Week1/Day1 :)

Had a very busy weekend, so sorry that I didn't get on line. Saturday my oldest DD went shopping for a dress. DH and I are letting her go to the 8th grade formal. She is going with her girlfriend. :) Anyway she purchased a really cute dress, and is growing up way to fast for both DH & I. ;( Then the girls had a sleepover, so I had to head out and get some munchies for that. Sunday was brunch at my BIL, and we didn't get home until after 4. By then I was just ready to lay on the couch and sleep. :) And to think that my parents are coming down this weekend. So this weekend is going to be just as busy. No workouts that I had planned where accomplished. x( Oh well I'm back to the X today!

Chest & Back plus ARX and a 30 min. run.

Doubles/Ph1/wk1/day 1 (DONE!!!)

Hey there gang. I can barely type right now. Wow upside down spells what? MOM!!!! Oh man, I miss this feeling, but no more. Did ARX and Chest and Back. Now I am off to make my protein shake and wake up my DH cause it is his turn to cry out for mommy.

I am soooo looking forward to clean eating all week. I am tired, and feel bleh from eating crud all week and barely getting any sleep. Tosca, here I come.

Doubles/Phase3/Week1/Day1: cardio, Chest & Back, ARX

Good morning Xers!

I haven't done my workout yet. Will do it mid morning. I just wanted to pop on and join in the excitement.

TraciX - did you do all the weights from CW, or just the step cardio? I'm just going to copy you today, btw. I'm going to warm up with CW step only, then do CB, then ARX. And I also had a bowl of oatmeal this morning, but with a banana instead of blueberries. Tomorrow, if my fresh bananas haven't yellowed up enough, I'll use blueberries. How did you eat those 4 egg whites? Mixed up in your oatmeal? I need some additional protein to my meal. I hope you like the soup. I have an extra head of cauliflower in my fridge, and wish I had an extra can of pumpkin. I would love to make it for today. Picture viewing will have to wait until later today, but I applaud your bravery. I don't even want to step on the scale, much less broadcast the results to the world!!! Not able to do the last frenzied 10 mason twists?? Uh, if I can do the first 20 twists without needing a break I'll be more than impressed with myself. Those things are just brutal for me. Yet I can do stability ball pikes with the greatest of ease. What's up with that?!?! LOL about kissing the tv!!

LeaX - I'm so looking forward to some healthy eating, too! And you and TraciX need to keep me motivated. You both seem to have great ideas. What is your cardio for today? Is DH doing this round of the X with you? (Didn't he do some of it last time?).

Wendy - You're going on the RT?! You lucky duck!!! I got my days mixed up for you yesterday. I forgot that you didn't start on a Monday. Ergo, of course you were doing YogaX yesterday!! I'm glad you both enjoyed it. I really liked it myself.

LaurieX - What a busy weekend you had! But at least you're back on track today. I hope you enjoy your workout!

Been meaning to say how utterly awesome I think the new catalog is!!! Cathe does everything with an extra touch of class dont you think?

Laurie: PLEASE no worries on weekend check-ins! You lead such a go go go life that I love vicariously thru my Xer buds! Are you planning on doing your runs before/after/ same time as X workouts? I'm trying to see if theres any method to my mindness of Cardio & Abs in AM (before eating) and strength work in afternoons.

LEA: YOU'VE SCARED ME SILLY for chest*back!!!! If you (who is stronger than I) cried mommy then I'm in for a major slap! Is that Tonys way of saying..."Why'd you leave me?" I'm right there with ya on the clean eating... It so goes hand in hand with really "bring it" for me.

Sandra: I did indeed do all the weights with C&W. I used 6 & 8's- Cathe only uses 8 & 12's in that one. I did not do the pushups tho- I just did planks...figured I needed my strength for Tony Chest later! Good job on a clean breakfast! WooHoo!!!! Only 5 more clean meals to go today! I just scrambled my egg whites today with Onion powder, S&P. Tomorrow is no oatmeal but Veggies in the whites so I'll make it a veggie omelet. As far as ab strength I do believe you have got one up on me with ball pikes! I truly believe if I die young it will be from breaking my neck attempting those! I think Masons are do-able for me only because my obliques are the strongest part of my abs. Its always where I see most pop. My goal is to get my lower abs as strong and defined. At end of last round I had visible obliques and uppers but my lowers never did appear! Enjoy your workout today- FUN FUN days ahead!

Off to store to get cauliflower then cook!
 
Morning Xers!

Today was Karen Voight's Great Weighted Workout. Talk about totally opposite workouts from Chest & Back P90X style! Can't believe how much this one made me burn, and with 3# weights too. I did the warmup, upper body, leg floorwork and then abs. My shoulders are burning right now. The guy on the left is so cheesy, he keeps staring at her a** and grinning sleazily.

Traci, thanks for thinking of me and my Sunday night sleeping habits. Thankfully, I was tired and fell right asleep, all the way until 4:00 when my alarm went off. The legs are fine today. Opted for ankle weight work instead of standing leg work to give the joints a break. Your pictures are really good, wish I had your longer shapely legs! HOpe you aren't too famished. I remember the first few days of the X, and just being so starved feeling. That went away though. Shocking to the body I think is the key to all these rotations. Keeps the body guessing.

Laurie, sounds like a very busy weekend for you. Oh, your DD going to the formal. Sigh, they grow up way too fast, don't they?

Lea, you've got your workout done already too. Know you will start feeling better. Tony will energize you and bet you won't feel so fatigued. How's that toilet holding?

Sandra, enjoy C&W step. I think it's a fun one. Bet you'll surprise yourself with the mason twists. BTW, I tried to upload my desert pictures to my Picture Trail yesterday but was unsuccessful. I have the hardest time with that one. I may need to download that Uploader link again. Maybe that will help. Download the Uploader...no wonder I'm going in circles...

OMG, the Doodlebops are on. Anyway, I have a question for the XXers. Am I missing something? Does it say on the doubles rotation to do cardio in week 1 or are you guys just doing it on your own. If that is the case, then my extra cardio won't start until week 5. I am just double checking to make sure that my brain didn't run away or something:+ .

Traci X - Thank you so much for posting pictures. You look great. I have no idea what you are talking about(pilsbury dough boy comment). Baseball is always great to have on as background. Thank goodness DH's team won last night. He was a happy camper. I am so on the 10 scale of clean eating. I all ready had my breadless french toast with strawberries, blueberries and a banana on top. Yummy. I think I am going to try the sweet potato garlic soup in Tosca's book. Sounds yummy. Funny, now I have Buttercup in my head. When I looked at your pics I had Who's That Lady in my head. LOL on Tony and the TV. Was DH around to view you cheating on him? I hear you on the abs. But, I swear I will have a 4 or at least a 2 pack by this summer:* .

Laurie X - DD is growing up. Things just go too quickly when you have kids huh? I bet you are excited though. Have fun with the X.

Sandra X - I have a tennis lesson tonight, so I guess that can count as my cardio. I am starting to feel guilty that everyone doing doubles is doing cardio today and I am notx( . You can join the rest of us on the healthy eating for sure. You can do it, you can do it!!!! You have fun with the X too!!

Jeanette X- I absolutely love Karen Voight. I have one of her dvds and it kills me every time. Haven't done it in a while. Hmmm...maybe after the X. Hey, I think my potty is holding up. Just have to saw off the bolts and hopefully everything will be peachy king!!! Now, to tackle the living room:p . Have a great day in jail!!! Until later.

Say a prayer for me... today is Legs & Back. I previewed it last night and am scared! I'm going to do it after my girls' music lessons this afternoon before dh gets home. We only have one chin up bar. We could pause the tape and take turns. I might do that too. We'll see how I feel after music lessons.

TaciX: Dh might love YogaX, but he and I looked far from graceful doing it! The 90 minuted didn't even bother him. I kept my thoughts about how long it was to myself. I didn't want to discourage him from doing it all next time.

I agree. The new catalog is awesome. I want one to lust over until I'm finished with the X.

You are so brave to post your Day1 pictures! You look great for going into your second round of P90X. And, doubles at that too! You ALMOST shamed me into posting mine. I don't have picturetrail or avatar though. I might be able to be persuaded to send them via email to everyone on this check-in. :eek:

No, we don't eat very clean. I took stock of what I ate yesterday and was shocked when I added everything up. I'm going to have to cut out the carbs and condiments this week. Dh needs to put on the pounds. He's long and lanky and SKINNY! I tried to put weight on him when we first married and it was useless. I'm hoping Tony can do it for me.

Laurie: Where do you guys fit in the additional cardio/run? I'm wondering if I should too. I'd love to lose about 5 pounds of fat! I hope you enjoyed your break this weekend. I keep telling dd to stop growing up, but she doesn't listen to me.

Lea: WOW = MOM LOL Is your dh doing P90X with you? It's so fun working out with my dh. It'll be nice to hear how he does with it too. In my big black book, Doubles doesn't call for an extra cardio until Phase 2. Well, from what I can recall. My book is upstairs and I'm too lazy to double check. ;-)

SandraX: Stability ball pikes... I'm impressed! Phil is always laughing at me whenever I attempt those. Yes, I'm going on the RT. Why do think I agreed to do P90X with dh instead of procrastinating until the end of time? LOL I need to get stronger.

Jeanette: Again, I wonder if I should be adding in extra cardio? Have fun with Cardio & Weights. I love that workout! I just took a look at your pictures. You look great!

TraciX - You're right! Xers Rock!! Love the pics! You look faaaabulous! I wish I had a waist that actually indents the way yours does! Nice biceps!! And your abs are looking very nicely defined in those photos. I don't like the taste of eggs just on their own - especially the whites. I have to find a reasonable breakfast protein; it's driving me nuts.

LeaX - D'OH!!! I completely FORGOT that the extra cardio sessions start in Phase 2! For the time being I am doing only Phase 3 of the doubles rotation. I'm hoping that will buff me up in time for my trip to Ontario, which will coincide perfectly with the recovery week. I will decide then whether I want to continue with the second round.

I personally cannot fit two separate workout sessions into one day, so I'm doing my cardio immediately before the weight workouts. The bonus of that is that I can skip over Tony's warm ups (which I'm not fond of), and also shave about 10 minutes off the workouts. In Phase 3 I'm supposed to add cardio 4 days a week: Mon, Tues, Thurs & Fri. Since Tues is a high-intensity cardio day, I'm going to add a standing leg workout instead of extra cardio. For example, tomorrow I'm planning on doing IMAX and GS Legs - standing (30mins). So, my version of "Doubles" includes 3 extra cardios a week, and 1 extra lower body workout. Make sense?

JeanetteX - going in circles for sure LOL!!! How crazy. It's amazing how effective light-weight work can be, isn't it? I'm so glad you've found something that appears to be working for you.

Baby's got a stinker, so it's time to change her, then head down to the basement and find my workout space underneath all the drywall dust.

Hi Xers,

Today is CTX upper body premix. I’m not sure whether I’ll add in any pull ups or not. I’m going to the dr today, but could only get an appointment with my PC physician. Orthopedic doctors didn’t want to see me until I’d tried that first or they didn’t have an appointment for over a week. I may walk later, I’m not sure.

Sandra, Traci, and Lea (Laurie & Debra too?)– Good luck on the clean eating. Too bad you all aren’t allergic to citric acid and sensitive to chemicals. That really helps me control my eating. Good luck on the start of your Double X. I’ll be rooting for you and cheering you on when you get bored!

Traci – I’m so glad that you are so excited about your second round of the X. You go girl! I’ll be here cheering you all on. You did the weights on C&W too? You better be careful, sounds a little like overkill.

Sandra - Did you survive the drywall dust? Sorry the evening eating is not going better. I too find that once I have one treat it is like a license to have more. It's kind of like being a treat-a-holic.

Laurie – The kids grow up way too fast. My youngest is 18. From 14 to 18 the years went by in a flash.

Jeanette – I have the Great Weighted Workout. I just never could get into that one. I’m glad it is working for you. Sometimes I feel a lot of the workouts have too much emphasis on the shoulders.

Lea – My husband LOVES baseball. He coached little league when the kids were small and now he is an assistant coach at the HS where my son goes. My kids played for a while, but neither of them particularly likes team sports. DH was devastated when they quit, but he did get over it.

Wendy – Enjoy L&B, it was one of my favorites and I always did my best on the pull-ups with that DVD. You should be in fine shape for the road trip. Cutting the carbs, some, did help me to drop a couple of pounds. I think that it is the initial change of eating pattern that is difficult. They are somewhat addicting, so once you get past the initial shock it’s ok.

Debra – Are you doing the X again? I can’t remember?

Hi ladies...Sorry, no time for a chat this morning...Just wanted to drop by and see how all of double Xers are doing...So far so good! I am doing PLB + legs from Push/Pull and abs from somewhere...Should have time for more of a chat this afternoon.

To any of you interested...Last night I posted DVDs that are free to anyone who wants them....I heard from Jeanette and Traci..so if any of the rest of you are interested, let me know.

Traci...I tried to PM you twice...but my emails got sent back...I will try again this afternoon when I have more time.

Ok, I have caught up on some of my work, and am taking a break. I went looking for Tosca's book at the stores Saturday, and didn't find it. I just ordered from Amazon so it says I should have it next week. I will still try to eat clean. I'm starting ok this morning, egg whites, whole grain english muffin (not all that clean), strawberries. My second meal was oatmeal, banana and cottage cheese. I will be having chicken breast and salad for lunch. :) Not too bad.

Traci, LOL about kissing the TV. If I don't do that I will be surprised. I have a huge crush on Tony ya know! :+ I was thinking of cardio after my weights, but Sandra has a point about cutting the time down on the workout. Hmmmm.... They should make a smiley with a light bulb on top!!!

Sandra, I like adding broccoli, cauliflower or onions to my egg whites. I precook the veggies before making my eggs. I'm going to have to make the Pumpkin/Cauliflower soup. I love both of them.

Lea, Your brain is fine, we are the crazy ones adding in cardio right away. :D We will see how it goes.

Wendy, From what I remember everyone recommended waiting until week 5 for first time Xers to add cardio. I don't remember the reasoning why.

Jeanette, You just reminded me of the hunger that I went through with the last rotation. I will have to remember that and get to the store with healthy snacks in mind. I seem to have to go to the store every other day, my DD's are fruit and veggie eaters. Plus they seem to constantly eat. :9

Tracy X - I know that my DH will be crushed too if the boys don't love baseball like he does. But my 6 year old is all ready running through the house screaming GO METS!! LOL. Did you get to make an appt with the PC physician. How frustrating.

Sandra X - Funny how I am so use to Tony's warm ups now that I actually like them. So you are going to do like an hour and half - two hour workout at a time. You brave brave woman. You will be so in shape for your trip.

Laurie X - Hopefully you get Tosca's book soon. There are some yummy recipes in there. Hey if you want any egg white recipes or any other suggestion let me know. I have been picking up the nutrition mags and they have lots and lots of yummy clean eating recipes in there.

Hi again to all the crazy Xers!
Chest & Back ROCKED MY WORLD:+ I was able to pick up the pushups at my round 1 half way point but was able to use 20's on all the back work (was using 12-20's)... The Pullups were tough (using door gym).
Felt GREAT to be back with our Tony!
M2 = apple + 1 tbl peanut butter ... I was still famished so I had 1 cup of Sandras Soup. Hit the spot until lunch (M3) which was 2 cups spinach leaves, 1 can tuna, half a red pepper & half yellow pepper,onions & lots of pepper! + 1 Roma tomato all with lemon juice. Bland but very filling.

Jeanette: Very happy that you have found your groove with post X ! I so want to find that... Maybe Barrys BootCamp is my ticket for post XX! Thanks for the "shapely legs" comment! I laughed out loud... If you ever see the back of my legs in person they've got lots of shape.. or is that cellulite? :p Good for you and the full nights rest! Makes a much easier Monday for sure. BTW: I had a hard time loading pics too last night. I ended up uploading 1 at a time- it kept coming up with error otherwise. Weird.

Wendy: OH I ADORE Legs & Back!!! Sneaky lunges can really get ya if you go low & deep! My booty had never experienced such DOMS before. I hope you enjoy the pain!}( You are a much better wife than I biting your tongue about anything- especially Yoga X 92minutes! Oh you can post pics with a viewing by access code only and you can just give that to us. I didnt take pics last time but I gotta tell ya the before & afters would have been so impressive! I wish I had done it - even if just for myself.

TRACY: Fingers crossed that you get a diagnosis today. I LOL on your thinking I got any great burn going in C&W! You are too cute! Actually- C&W for me is the easiest of all of Cathes Circuits & by using that puny weight I never even got a little burn. Thanks for the concern... I appreciate it.

SANDRA: YUMMY on the soup!!!!!!!!! THANK YOU it saved my morning as I was famished after meal 2 .I actually used the food processor to puree the cauliflower, pumpkin & chicken stock... Then I transferred it to pot and added milk and spices... OMG is it ever good!!!!! Thanks for kind word on pics... I am just going to get over it (all my negative thoughts) and work hard to improve for 30 day pics. Hope that stinker got handled OK.;)

Debra: Hi there busy lady! Sent you another PM with my email... For some reason I get some PMs and other times no go. Thats some legs day you have planned! Go for it.

Laurie: I bet I'll do cardio like Sandras doing it on tight schedule days.. I'm kinda of a free bird most days so if I can muster the 2 times I'll do that. I do have two days later this week tho that I have to do it all together. Congrats on your new book coming soon. i am A HUGE fan of Tosca & her no frills approach. Great clean eating day going so far!!!

LEA: So you and Sandra are in cahoots with the kiddie vids! I get it now... Look out or you'll be getting requests to move to the great doodlebop town! Good luck on picking your LR color... I am so indecisive that I always just say forget it!

Thanks Traci. Now I have to get off my arss and make some sweet potatoe, garlic soup!!! All this soup talk. Yummy. Maybe I will smell like a big garlic head for my lesson tonight and no one will want to stand by me:p . BTW, found my LR colors. DH better move his computer by tomorrow. I gots some work to do}( .

Sounds like everyone is really enjoying either doing or the thought of doing the x again plus working hard to eat well.

I'm with Sandra on the egg whites. I had a 4 egg omletee with 4 whites and a yolk and a half. That's about as good as I can do.

I did CTX upper body split and added in 5 sets of various pull/chin ups and deleted the rows. Since I'm just getting back into endurance based workouts, that workout felt hard. It could be modified easily to go heavier though. It has some nice variations.
