Xers * Luv* Ya'll Thursday

Hi all,

I was late getting up this morning. I still haven't processed all of the virus out and I really don't feel all that great in the morning. Once I get going I'm OK, and I actually feel better this afternoon than yesterday. I guess that's a good sign. Today is my rest day.

It's been 7 days since I worked legs and my clothes are literally falling off of me. For me it always takes about a week to get rid of the water and puffiness associated with heavy lifting.

I did realize one thing yesterday, I'd be really flexible if I didn't lift. It's amazing how much the lifting tightens up the muscles in a bad way.

Just to clarify my comment about the pull up bar. I don't think anything compares with the attempt to heave oneself up to a bar. Plus you get the added benefit of tightening the core, which I didn't get with the bands. Actually I don't think that moving your body weight cannot be duplicated by anything except actually moving your body weight.

Class is starting, so I guess I'd better go.

Ok, yesterday it was 78 degrees.

Today it is about 32 and we have snow on the ground. It is darned near blizzardy out there. WTH!!!

I haven't seen snow in over a year. The power is going out here and there because of the thunder and lightning so I'll keep it short.

Traci, I'm anxious to see the results of your chest/back experiment in April. Nah, I'm more excited just to see you:)

Wendy, Sounds like a wonderful present for both you and Phil. I purchased a $60 espresso machine a few years ago and it works as good as any $500 one:)

Sandra, What, no pictures of the Tinkerbell cake? I bet it was cute. Hope you have another productive thesis day!

Lea, I never get alone time but I'm sure I'll figure it out:p Did you get your yoga in today?

Jeanette, Have fun getting pampered in Reno! you'll be looking fine come retreat:) Glad you managed to avoid the IL this morning:D

Laurie, I'm getting a taste of Wisconsin today:p it's a taste I don't care to get but that's what I get for bragging:) Enjoy those cherries tonight and the DOMS your legs are going to have tomorrow!

Debra, I hope you avoided getting germs from the urchins! Wasn't that nice of CBL to leave you a sweet message:) Enjoy your fish and veggies tonight!

Tracy, At this point I wish my clothes fit let alone fell off;) I'm glad you are feeling good in that sense but I hope you feel better sickness wise soon. This bug seems to really hang on.

Christine, You officially get the award as the most dedicated X'er! Sounds like you have had an eventful trip home:p Stay safe and dry and be careful with that shoulder.

Hi Kim, Swifty and Carol!

Off to check out how deep the snow is:p

Hi all,

I have a few minutes; class let out early and DH and DS are working out! My workout calendar in the kitchen is really helping them keep up with their workouts. Now DH can see when he hasn't worked out for a day and he really watches that calendar. He writes in his workouts in black marker, so they are very visable.

Debra - 2 hour delays always throw me off. I'm almost better off just going in at the same time.

Sandra - I mean the bar is better for intensity and overall workout because it requires a lot more stabilization than using a machine and I think works more muscles.

Traci - I can't buy into the front/back workout. I have read where people don't work the backside, something about just doing what they see in a mirror. I think the phenomenon here might have been top bottom:) Work the top, leave the bottom up for chance.... I know that has changed now that everyone is embracing the leg workouts:)

Nicole - You know what really helped me stop my negative interactions with DH? Not engaging when a dispute starts. That makes him so mad, but it really works because it breaks the pattern of the behavior.

Laurie - How did the chocolates turn out?

I have to go fix the nachos.

Good evening ladies
HAPPY VALENTINE TO YOU ALL
DH and I will have to take a rain check tomorrow for celebrating Valentine and I won't be cooking as I am still in Pittsburgh...maybe a nice restaurant... He is flying from Brazil in the morning and joining me later on in the evening.
Today was supposed to be Kenpo (which I was going to sub with Cathe) but it didn't happen. I started cleaning DD's appartment and carried on quite late. I'll double tomorrow with a cardio and a stretch; probably LIC cardio timesaver and a segment of StretchMax. I'll do some more cleaning here for DD so she won't have to worry about that and then w/o and I have a manicure app. late afternoon. Then I'll go to the hotel and wait for DH. Haven't seen him in 10 days.x(
Before I go on to personals I have a question for you. Anyone who can help would be appreciated. I have reached a weight that I am very comfortable with. But I would still like to lower the BF. How do you modify the diet to achieve that? Do you play with the protein/carbs ratio? Any input will be welcomed.

TraciX~~ Hope you had a great leg day... that one always gets me. It seems there's always a cardio element when you workout the legs. DD's neck was feeling a little better this morning. She was seeing the therapist again before dance. Tonight was opening night and she said she would dance even if her neck were to fall off...  And you are right I am sure this is related to all the stress she's under lately. Thanks for clarifying the different front/back body parts.:+

Wendi~~ What's wrong with you girl??? Don't want any bling...lol:+ I can tell you the best gadget for frothing milk is a simple battery or electrical operated wand. It looks like a coil with a circle at the base and sells for about $10. I have one in Europe and here too. Also the best milk to use is the skim one, it produces the best froth. With this little gadget, you froth the milk and then simply put it in the microwave for about 30-40 sec. to warm the milk. The most important aspect of the cappucino is the pressure that the machine will give you so you get the best "crema" on top of your coffee. For me nothing beats the Nespresso machines. That's what I have in Europe.;-) For the back exercises I use the Bowflex when I am in Europe as we have no door frames, so we can't install a pull-up bar. In MI we have one so I use it. I just got the Woody bands before leaving for PA, so I'll try them when I get back. I still can't do them unassisted and with my weak shoulders I don't think I'll ever be able to. But at 52, I'm quite pleased with the form I'm in...lol:9

Sandra~~ I'm glad conjestion is not going to stop you. How strong...lol ;) Good job with Drill Max, that's a thoughie...x( Seems like you had a great leg w/o too. I still feel the love in mine from L&B yesterday...;)

Teddygirl~~ I am glad Ted is feeling better. Is DH like mine when he is sick? Mine is sooooo sick, he's like a little baby, but thankfully he's not sick very often. Although last year he was more than normally. I think it's all that travelling that got to him. How sweet of him for V-day. Have to wait another day for mine...lol;-) Your w/o plan sounds like a good one. I think I'll be lost when I'm done with the X. Having all of it maped out for me was so easy...even if it's anything but...lol:+

Jeanette~~ So no cardio today...lol:+ Have a great trip to Reno and happy massage and facial. I have those booked for next week in MI. Looking forward to it.:p

Laurie~~ You are getting so close to the finish line with your 3rd phase of the X. WOW! My hat is off to you. I bet you are looking forward to STS. What a good idea of mixing L&B with Cathe's w/o. I never thought of that. I usually sub the cardio or Yoga or even stretch but I always stayed faithful to the strenghts w/o. I suppose when you are in your 3rd phase you get a little creative. Do you remain faithfull to the back portion?

Nicole~~ I pray that DS will get better and you can have your hard earned weekend by yourself. I seems like you need it and will probably do a lot of soul searching. Have you thought of having a pampered day; facial, massage...:) What crazy weather you are having... a drop of 46D in one day... ;(

Debra~~ Well we all have those crazy mornings where we think it went nowhere, but it seems you were quite busy and accomplished a lot. It was the same for me. I started cleaning DD's appartment and was doing more and more, until I realized what time it was...:+ Have a great tiem with CBL.

Tracy~~ I am glad you are feeling better:+

All the other xers.... GROSSES BISES....(Big kisses)
