Hi all,
I did what I thought was a great modification. I did Cardio and Weights and before each weight segment I did a set of various pull/chin ups then a set of pushups at the end of the segment. It was a great workout and I got a really good pump. I can actually do a few wide grip pull ups now. I haven't lost any of my strength and I'm not lifting nearly as heavy, but more often. Then I did magically hips of course.
Nicole - I wouldn't fret too much about the legs, and the only reason I came close to breaking a sweat with L&B was because of the pullups. The pants could be tight because you've changed shape, but it probably is just water retention or could be a combination of both. My legs visably went down when I couldn't workout for two weeks. It was almost disgusting because I had lost fat and when the water went away there didn't look like much muscle either. You could always go to the 12-15 rep version if you just want to build lean muscle. Don't get on the scale if it is going to freak you out. Go by the way that you look. Are you getting a good ratio of carbs and protien for something that works for you? The only thing that I can say about extra calories is that I did better when mine were from protien and not carbs. I've always been a low fat person and that has worked for me.
Happy Friday evening,
Tracy
