X'ers 1-15 Monday

Hi all,

I finished chest & back and brought it as best as I could. It’s so hard to do that every workout. I increased all of my weights and the number of reps that I did. I ended up doing 271 various pushups on my toes. That’s more than I thought I could do. My biceps and triceps felt like they were going to explode after some of the bar work and I had to massage them again. I actually felt muscles in my back engage that I didn’t know I had. I think one more rotation and I’ll be able to do a respectable number of chin ups and probably some close grip pull ups.

Debra – My kids went to Montessori school. I’m glad you had fun teaching. Little kids are lots of fun. I hope the stomach thing goes away quickly.

Jeanette – One armed pushups on the toes! Congratulations, that is really an accomplishment. I’m glad you are seeing results in your upper body. It is so motivating. I am going to continue to go for strength gains and I’ve put together a couple of rotations, but nothing I’m totally satisfied with yet. Whatever it is it will include pull-ups and pushups. It's hard to layer on upper, lower, and cardio and not take up too much time. Three times a week for legs is really working well for me and I don't want to give that up.

Sandra – There is something about steady state step cardio that is just like magic isn’t it? Glad you enjoyed BM2. I will always incorporate steady state step to preserve my mental sanity regardless of whether it is detrimental to my weight work. I’ve been doing if for way too long. I don’t think that there is anything wrong with subbing IMAX2 for the plyo. It may make you come back to Tony even more enthusiastic and this is as much mental as it is physical. I’ve been adding the cardio in all along; I just couldn’t give it up. It’s so good to hear from someone who hates floor work too. I never do it and I will just have to live with the way my legs look without it. I find it pointless.

Lea – Just join back in. We all understand. It will take hours to go back and catch up. I hope you had a fun weekend.

Sorry if I missed anyone.

Hi everyone.
So apparently on Friday while I was working so hard doing my Doubles day, ice was coming down and I just wasn't paying attention. Friday evening we lost power and it finally just came back on about 1.5 hours ago. Obviously I haven't worked out or even thought about working out since Friday. I have been sleeping in a dark freezing house for three days and am exhausted. I am just going to do whatever workouts I feel like doing for the rest of the week and start Phase 2 again next week. No big deal. After going through survival mode this weekend it really put things in perspective for me and I think that is why I feel no stress about missing workouts.

Me and the hubby are safe and sound. I had to take my doggies and kitty to a family members house because it was way too cold in the house for them to stay. Their little bodies were trembling. I just picked them up and brought them home. Luckily no water pipes froze. We have a ton of tree damage. One hit our house but luckily didn't come through - we will just have to repair the gutters. We have large trees and limbs down all over, it looks like a tornado came through.

Well - I hope that everyone is safe and warm. Thanks for listening.

Hi all!!!

Sorry I've been MIA. Just been super busy at work.

Yesterday I did Cathe's B & G. As much as I've enjoyed Legs and Back, I just couldn't face it again this week. Also, my back felt pretty worked out and I didn't want to work it again. That being said, my glutes and hammies are really hurting today.

This morning I did P90X shoulders and arms. This is going to be my last week on P90X because I have my surgery next week (minor) and I'll be out of commission for several weeks. I'm ending P90X a couple of weeks early but it can't be helped.

Sounds like everyone is doing well. I only had time to skim the personals. Be back tomorrow.

Monica,
So sorry you are having to go thru this ice storm. A cold house is not fun. Glad you had a place to send your pets off to. You are right about some things being put into perspective. In those cases, exercise may have to take a back seat. Take it easy with whatever you need to do this week and jump back in next week with P90X. We'll all still be here.

Buffy, hope your surgery goes well. We will be thinking about you. Have you seen good results with P90X and are you happy you did it? If I had to stop it here at week 7, I would still think the results were way worth every bit of sweat and discomfort. Hope you feel the same way.

Tracy, I will definitely be looking for something for the next rotation that includes pushups and pullups (lat pulldowns for me). It is tough to get it all in, but what I've learned from P90X is that if you hit it good one day, you don't have to keep hitting it multiple times in a week, you can move on to other parts. Sure takes the pressure (self-inflicted) off of me. I was thinking that when the weather is warmer and daylight is longer, it would be easier to add in some light cardio outside here and there.

Hi to all! I'm sorry I haven't been back to catch up...but if it makes you feel any better..I didn't even get my workout in today! So..Hopefully after my mammogram tomorrow morning I will be able to catch up and get some personals in..and actually work out! I can't remember the last time life took over and I just didn't work out. It's a very strange feeling!
