Morning Girlies!:D

I'm gettin' ready to bang out part of my work out early this morning so this will hafta be a fly by for now. I got my Pilates class in last night but nixxed the cardio as I plan to run today.

BBL with personals and such!:)
 
Hello ladies,

afraid i am having a hard time keeping up with checking in:eek:

wendy- how did you like the pilates class? have you taken pilates before?

yesterday i went for a 3 mile run outside (can't believe it as i am a cold weather weenie) however it felt really good!

today i did my AB workout.

i am in charge of our seniors programming at work. today we are having a thanksgiving brunch and everyone is bringing in a covered dish. so i am sure there will be lots of yummy (yet evil foods) so i may have to run again...lol

after running yesterday i discovered it is time for some new running kicks so i am picking some up today!

also, my oldest son has the lead role in his first play today. i am so proud and excited for him!!

Good Morning Wendy, Dee Dee and all who follow,

I'm feeling so much better - not 100%, but better! I exercised yesterday for the first time since last week. It felt good but I was out of breath. I plan on doing a kettlebell workout later today.

Wendy, How are you feeling? How was your pilates class?

Dee Dee, Have fun at the brunch! That is so exciting for your son - break a leg! I have a hard time checking in on a regular basis as well.

Good Morning Ladies,

Well my legs are killin' me this morning. After doing heavy legs training yesterday, my meltdown class started off with weighted stair running. We did a bunch of weighted walking lunges, running around the track a little uppper body, abs and weighted stair running.

I had a hard time getting to sleep after class last night. The class is from 7-8 and I always take a warm shower to help ease me into sleep mode. It probably didn't help that I was going up and down the stairs doing laundry:(

Thankfully this morning is a shorter w/o, GS C&T. I'm following the Nov rotation but had to rearrange the days a bit so I could do heavy leg training at the rec ctr. I was late getting in BSB last week so I switched up the upper body w/o's this week. It'll all get done and that's what matters.

DeeDee-good job getting that run in. I'm a fair weather runner myself. I enjoy a bit cooler weather when running. Brunch sounds fun! We had a Halloween chili cook-off and desserts. I think the "better than blood" cake was the winner. We also have a Holiday Pig Out (yep, that's what its called) in Dec. with a gift exchange if you choose to participate. Congratulations to your son. How old is he if you don't mind me asking?

Shirl-glad you are feeling better. I am too and it felt great to finally get a w/o in. KB's are on my Christmas List. What do you recommend I start out with. I was thinking 2-15's or a 20. I'm not sure where to start. Do I need 2 KB's or would 1-15 and 1-20 be good.

Angie-I don't have any snow at my house but we have plenty in the mountains. It's actually supposed to be 74 here today. The temps for my area this week are 74,68,43,47,55, and 56! It's been really nice!

Time to get my w/o started!

Hey Girls.

I'm back from the gym. I got in 4 miles. I did the first 2.65 miles of hills at a 6.0 pace by going from 1% incline (my norm for flat TM running) up to 4% in increments of 1% every third of a mile. I did that twice through to get to about 2.65 miles. After that I brought the incline back down to 1% and ran the remainder between 5.8 and 6.1 mph. It was a good run. :)

I've decided to opt out of UB today. I think the floor work and the run are enough. I will do UB on it's own tmrw. I have it worked out so that I will rest on Saturday and start my new rotation on Sunday. :)

Sunny: Sorry you are finding it hard to keep up. I miss ya when you aren't around but certainly understand. Enjoy all that food today! I have no doubt that you'll work it off some how!

Diana: OUCHIES...enjoy the leg DOMS! You are right-as long as you get it all done you are good to go so rearrange away my friend!

Shirl: So happy to hear you are on the mend and were able to get in a work out y'day. Enjoy the bells today!

YIKES! I have to eat and take a shower and be at DS' school in just about an hour! They invited the moms into the preschool for 30 minutes this morning to be with thier kids during a part of the school day. I'm so lucky that I can do this. I can't wait to see what they are going to do! :)

Morning Ladies!

I managed a tough class last night .. did the circuit w/shorter cardio segments and longer LB shaping ... OUCHIE .. I woke up w/DOMS in the rear end and hammies!!! Had a packed class last night ?? go figuire!!!

Tonight is going to be the 4 step plyo/pushup/core/plank torture class .. since I pretty much fried the LB last night .. going to concentrate on UB tonight!!:)

I am feeling a bit more myself .. still downing the airborne and hoping the bug stays away!! DH is still pittiful! and it is COLD here .. we had an artic blast move in last night .. was 32 when I got up . .supposed to get up to 50 but then tonight drop to around 27 .. BBBBBBRRRRRR that is not helping DH cold at all!!!:confused:

Wendy .. sounds like you are getting back to your old energizer bunny self!! LOL dont overdo!!

Di .. my legs are aching w/yours today .. although dont think I punished mine near like you did yours!! LOL

Ang .. SNOW?? eeeeekkkkk ..... yes it is too early for snow! Although it is hard to believe Thanksgiving is NEXT week!! :eek::confused: this time of year just FLIES by!!

Jacque .. hard to believe you are so warm and we are so cold ... 80's in November ... sometimes it happens here .. it can literally be 35 one day and 80 the next .. think that is one reason people get so sick .. you never know how to dress ... LOL!! I am hoping against all hope we beat our rivals next weekend ... you never know .. it is such a heated rivalry .. this year especially .. think VBF and I are going to the town next to us to watch it w/strangers at a sports bar b/c our AL fan friends are THAT obnoxious!! :confused:

Good afternoon ladies!

Sounds like everyone is recovering from the various germs they've been fighting. I'm feeling a-okay myself ***knock on wood***

This morning I did Imax 3 which proved to be pretty fun, and yesterday was Iron Core Way 2, with sprints on the treadmill during her rests. That was a good workout.

Laura, you are a trooper to make it through that class with a cold! Hope you recover from it ASAP.

Wendy, have fun at the preschool! I do miss those days.

Diana, OUCH!! How are you still walking? :eek:

Shirl, so glad to hear you're on the mend!

Dee Dee, I'm an intermittent checker-in-er too! We do what we can, right? Sometimes "eral life" just gets in the way :mad: But we always love to hear from you! Congrats to your son for his first lead role! What fun!

Laura: Awesome class for someone who wasn't feeling up to snuff! And you talk about ME being the energizer bunny?? I think not my dear! LOL The run felt great this morning but I could feel the after-effects. I got really tired. Had to lay down for a nap before. I can tell I'm not 100% but I'm gettin' there. :) Sorry about your DH. Seems when he gets hit with a bug it hits him HARD! Poor thing. I have a friend like that. Someone will have a cold and he'll catch it but it will turn into some raging fever thing for him instead of the minor cold the other person had! :( Does your DH take Airborne? If not, perhaps he should start!!!

Well I was almost late to DS' school. I was meandering around after my shower getting ready to make something for lunch when it hit me that I was thinking I had to be at the school 30 mins LATER then I actually had to be! YIKES! When I looked at the clock it was 10:50. I had JUST ENOUGH TIME to grab an on-the-go snack and bolt out the door to get to DS' school for 11am. PHEW. That was a close one. :cool: Anywho, it was very cute. It was pretty much a free period for them where they could do whatever they chose to. Some where playing with a train set, some colored, some played with Play-Do, etc. There was about 4 moms there. DS was using a little chalk board to draw on when I got there and then we used a dry erase board and last we used construction paper and colored pencils. It was cute. He was happy to have me there but when it was time for me to go he all but pushed me out the door! LOL :p Kids are funny-this morning he was in tears when I left! Go figure.

Gotta go...almost time to head back to school!

Jen, Posting at the same time. Great work outs! IMAX 3 is beyond me and I haven't had the time nor inclination to try and work through it. I can be choreography-illiterate and when I'm busy concentrated on not throwing up a lung, it can be hard for me to get even the slightest hint of tricky choreo down. :p One day....*sigh* So are you doing a rotation or flying by the seat of your pants so to speak? :)
 
Wendy, I lol'd at DS pushing you out the door! That's good...it means he's confident and secure there.

Yes, right now I'm flying by the seat of my pants. HOWEVER, I neglected to mention that I ordered 4DS the other day! Woohoo!! So when that gets here, I'll likely do a rotation with that.

I'm kind of clumsy on the step with her newer stuff, but after I do it 3 or 4 times it finally clicks. Then I have fun with it for a while...but it's never too long before I'm bored and looking for something else! That's my problem...I always seem to have a reason to buy something new!
 
Jen: YAY for 4DS. You are gonna love it! Awesome weight work! I'm not a fan of the step work outs but love the kickbox and bootcamp cardios! ENJOY! :) Hey, you are not alone. I am ALWAYS on the hunt for something new and exciting when it comes to exercise!;) Yes, I do believe my DS is confident and comfortable at school but then why the clinginess and crying still when I go to leave in the morning often times?? :confused:

So I was just looking at the GRFS 2007 rotation I plan on starting on sunday and was thinking about the fact that I haven't used my bells in quite some time. This rotation calls for a circuit work out every week. I think I'll do a f/b kb work out instead! Happy happy joy joy! I'm so smart!:p
 
I think that's a great idea. I do love the bells myself. (That's another purchasing urge I'm trying to fight right now! I so want to get Providence, but can't justify that cost right now.)

I'm the opposite of you in the sense that I prefer the step workouts over the kickbox and bootcamp. I've never been sold on Cathe's kickbox. But I'm keeping an open mind and am hoping she convinces me to like them with 4DS ;)

In a way, the clinginess/crying never really stops :eek: My daughter STILL hates to leave me in the morning, and she's TEN!! (No crying at her age, but definitely complaining and "I'm gonna miss you"s) But I know she's fine once she's there and has a good time with her friends. I guess we just need to consider it a compliment that they like being with us enough to miss us when we're away ;)
 
Wendy .. yeah .. DH used to NEVER get sick .. now last year he got hit w/a MONTH long bug .. and now this bug has him down .. he does not take airborne and will NOT go to the Dr .. he would have to be on death's door to go to the Dr .. he is a "he-man hear me roar .. I am invincible" kinda guy .. errrrrrr .. hard headed in other words!! LOL

LOL about the energizer bunny taking a nap .. honey if I could have laid down yesterday about this time I would have probably slipped into a coma!! LOL .. JK .. think the crowded room gave me that extra spunk to get thru the tough class .. that always gets my adrenaline pumping .. knowing I need to give my all for the newbies ..;)

Jen .. I am on the fence about the kettlebells too .. I really am tempted to take the plunge .. but knowing STS is on the way soon I dont think it would be doable .. thinking STS alone is going to zap me and my time .. but I have read the kettlebell w/o is time effecient w/o .. and I am all about that!! more of a w/o in shorter amount of time .. count me in!! :) STS looks like it is going to be a time drainer .. I will probably end up doing to it like I did the X .. disecting it and making it my own ..

OK .. 2 more hours .. geesh this has been a long day .. have a great one girlies!!:D

I love step but never had tons of patience for intricate choreo. That's why I'm not a fan of the step in 4DS. As for kickbox...I have to be in the mood but I do enjoy it and bootcamp? Well, that's just some crazy fun! :D
Since I've found running I tend to prefer it over any kind of cardio that I have to THINK about. I think running made my choreo-learning patience hit rock bottom. :eek: Oh well. I'll live. ;)

I STILL have Anthony's other KB work outs on my wish list. Speaking of which...I should really pass the info along to the proper folks for a Christmas gift idea, don't ya think!? :D

Why don't you ask for something fitness related for Christmas? I do that EVERY year and almost always get what I ask for. It's great! :)
 
Well it is evening for me so most of you are probably in bed by now!:eek:

Did my GSL this AM even though I started with our "pass it around X'er cold" last night. Started with a sore throat that kept me awake much of the night. I pounded out my workout B4 work and though I don't feel perfect, I'm not too bad. Work was a long day and I was outta the office the second half. Believe it or not, I am glad I can stay at my desk tomorrow. Have too many TO DO's that have been put off lately. :(

So the Meatballs were good - only made a gazillion so will have them for the next two weeks straight! JK ! Sharks played Nashville after playing Chicago the night before. Turned out two wins. Was nice since the dads or other family members got to go along on the road trip. Now they have until Sat nite to rest. So UNREAL that they keep winning, but I guess one team or another is always at the top. Just not usually the Sharks. It is so nice for them.

Dee Dee - good to see you when you have a chance to stop by, no need to apologize. Still doing the AB's huh? Have 'fun' with your new shoes and enjoy DS's play. All 3 of mine did theather and I absolutely adored it. They are definitely their own people and being up on stage without a care of how people think about you built loads of self esteem for my kids. Great extra curricular activity in my eyes.

Shirl - good to hear you felt up to a regular workout. I have been getting tired after only a few days off in a row so understand. It comes back pretty quickly though. Hope all just gets better and better for you.

Diana - OMG my legs hurt just reading your post !:eek: Now you're the one hardly able to sit down to pee? LOL ! We may have to do a KB challenge soon, huh? I bought one, a 15 lb., but have only used it once as I don't really like the workout I have. I also banged my wrists with a couple of the moves so need to figure that out too! LOL at you temps, we dropped from 88 yesterday to 72 today ! Crazy - may have rain this weekend. Wish it would be consistent, even if it cools off.

Wendy - nice TM run girl ! If I've been hitting the TM often enough I can do 6 mph for a while but only hills for a little bit. Way to go ! Hope you had fun at DS's class today. Ahh, I see you did ! You ladies make me miss having young ones around. . . They can be soooo precious !;)

Laura - Keep the bugs off ya girl ! Man oh man whatcha gonna do with DH, huh? Poor guy ! Yep that coldness makes is so hard to get rid of the viruses when it hasn't been a gradual change in temps but drops quickly. I don't think our bodies do well that way for most. Can't wait to see how your game plays out this weekend and how it worked going to a sports bar ! In my mind I do see CAB's, no?:rolleyes:

Jen - hope you didn't jinx yourself. I've been saying I felt fine too and "poof!", last night it hit me. Don't even think about it, K? :p Nice workouts for you lately, way to go ! Ohhh, 4DS, huh? That makes for a great rotation. I like doing both weights and cardio on the same day. Good cardio too ! When are you expecting it? What I like about kick boxing is it rounds out your cardio. Steady state step or run, kick box and an HIIT type and you are good to go ! Kinda like working each body part, you work each type of cardio. Eh? OK - at least for me . . .;)

Hope y'all had a nice evening. Sooooo hoping to be able to get here tomorrow before you all go to sleep ! :eek:
