Hi Girls.

Ang: I think DH's fave driver is Jr. It was always Dale Earnhardt until ofcourse he died. I remember when that happened. We were at a hotel for the night (;)) and turned on the tv at some point and it was on the news. I thought my DH (then SO) was going to cry. I could have done a ride along at the track but I was too chicken!:p

Sunny: Sorry you felt crappy over the weekend. Hope yesterday was a better day for you!

Jen: So glad you enjoyed Ripped and Chiseled. I'll be doing it in full for the first time next week. Can't wait. What kind of dog have you inherited? Glad the dog seems happy and glad that you are already smitten. Makes it easier to accept that you got "stuck" with a dog you never wanted in the first place.

Laura: Sounds like you had a fun weekend. We stopped in the new casino in the Poconos while we were there. We blew a few bucks there. Only stayed for an hour or so. It could have been much worse! LOL

Di: You love Lowmax huh? It's in my current rotation alot. I'll be doing it this week. OUCH! LOL

Gotta go! BBL!

Hi, it's me. I'm back after a crazy week with only a few minutes to spare here and there. I haven't had a chance to read all of last week's posts - hope all is well with everyone. Oh, guess what?! My DH wants to start P90X, so he called my brother to get our DVD's back. My brother said he can't find them. My DH said WHAT??!! I thought you were using them. My brother's response - I thought I'd have find them by now. I think he gave them to his recently exgirlfriend. My DH is furious. All I have to say is I better get them back.

Wendy, I didn't start the rotation. I am so hooked on my bells that I can't seem to get away from them. ;) I did Lauren Brook's On The Edge for the second time yesterday and I so love it! I did the blast and the sculpt & condition sections as well as the joint mobility all in about 60-65 minutes. I feel nicely worked today.

Hello to everyone and I'll check in later. :D

Hi girlie girls!

This morning I did the first two sections of Bodymax 2. I'm lovin' that workout. It's a butt kicker.

Wendy, sounds like your weekend was a blast! Hope DH knows how lucky he is. How long have you two been together? You sound like you're still so in love ;) (I know of too many marriages who are lacking that and it's so refreshing to see.)

Yes, I really enjoy Ripped and Chiseled! My endurance is sorely lacking, and I think this is a great challenge for me. And given the fact that I'm more interested in fat burning than in muscle building, this feels like a good fit. I also bought Ripped 1000, but I received a defective dvd  So now I'm in search of a replacement.

The dog I "inherited" is a collie shepard mix, I think. She's not very big, about 40-50 pounds, and she's an absolute sweetheart. She's a little scrappy looking, but that's alright. Unfortunately, I don't think she's been treated very well. She's really timid and nervous. But we're working on restoring her confidence and self-esteem :D Givin' her lots of love.

Shirl, oh I hate it when I don't get back the things I loan out. And I have a sister who does it to me all the time! So I sympathize. Hope your dvds are returned to you ASAP. I'm going to check out that Lauren Brooks workout. I've heard a lot of good things about it, and I too am lovin' my kettlebells!

Gotta do some work...hello to all who follow. Will BBS if I can!

Jen

Me again - I forgot to post my workout - Hi/Lo Knockout - I really like this one - I have alot of fun when I do it.

Jen, BMax2 is another fun one. I typically do the premixes. I recently tried the BootCamp premix and liked it. It sounds like your "inherited" dog needed you. I bet your kids are so happy to have their dog full time. Good job with the workout. I hope you get a replacement asap - that just stinks. I'm doing an endurance workout tomorrow - probably ME - I haven't done that one in forever. Definitely check out Lauren Brooks - she seems like such a nice person. Oh, she is pregnant with her second child and still rocking it with kettlebells.

Morning Ladies!

Monday down .. come on Friday!! :p

I ended up doing circuit but w/LB only triple sets ... OH MY .. it was a hit .. and everyone was moaning thought I would really not be able to move today .. but just a few DOMS in the hammies and the abs! SIL did come and was happy there was no UB .. tonight though is a different story .. it will either be 4 or 6 step torture w/focus on UB!! It is still cold .. 41 again this morning .. I swear I can NOT get warm!! I am sitting at my desk w/a leather jacket on .. LOL .. pitiful!! It is supposed to get up to 75 today so I am going for another short run outdoors at lunch ..

Wendy ... I have always wanted to go to the Poconos .. is it gorgeous??? .. we wanted to go there on our honeymoon .. but alas money was such an issue back then we could not afford it!! maybe one day!!

Shirl .. sorry you have been so busy .. I bet DH is ticked!! I would stay on DB arse until he found my P90X .. LOL ... Wish I could get my DH to exercise w/me .. maybe DB will come thru and find it or replace it for you two!!!

Jen .. a sheppard/collie mix .. WOW .. has got to be a smart dog .. it wont take long it will learn and relax .. both those breeds are really smart dogs .. you could probably train it to do all kind of tricks!! Givin' her the lovin' is the first place to start!!! I am so happy she is fitting in!!

Ang .. SIL has not really told me what the dr. is saying .. she of course is saying she says to take it easy but she can still exercise .. I somehow doubt it .. I figure she is saying NO UB work at all .. and limited exercise .. you know when we are injured and used to being invincible we dont want to believe that we cant do what we want to and have a tendancy to ignore w/the specialist say!! She did tell her that she was "trying" the epidural and anti-inflammatories .. and if that did not work they would need to discuss surgery options .. one of which is laser surgery .. ?? I just know if she is on anti-iflammatories that means swelling ..and that tells me she needs to LAY OFF exercises!!!

the deer are on the move again .. had 2 last night running crazy .. but luckily no Richard Petty manuvers were called for. This morning in about the same spot there were 2 more off to the side of the road .. luckily I just veered to the left and all was ok .. for some reason it is REALLY foggy this morning .. thick fog!!??? was horrible driving into work today!!! I have not found that dang deer magnet on my car yet either  ;)

Hello to Di, DeeDee, and Jacque.. what's up girlies??? OK .. gotta jet .. have a great one!!

Laura, it's so wild you should comment on her intelligence, because she is a super smart dog! I'm totally amazed and had no idea that it is characteristic of those breeds. The kids have taught her a few little tricks, and she's good about sitting and lying down and that stuff. What I really need to teach her right now is how to walk on a leash. Any tips you might have would be greatly appreciated!!

I'm so jealous that you're able to run on your lunchtime. How do you manage that? Sounds like you had another great class last night, too. Now...have you looked under the hood for that magnet? I've heard they hide them under there sometimes ;)

Shirl, the kids are ecstatic and so grateful. I know I did the right thing for them, and it's turning out to be the right thing for me, too :)

BBL~

Good Morning Lovely Ladies,

I was not feelin' my heavy leg workout yesterday. I'd decided to switch up my leg workout since I've been doing the same thing for about 6-8 weeks. I did do lying leg curls, seated leg extensions and leg press. I was feeling pretty weak and tired yesterday so after only those 3 leg exercises I headed upstairs and did some weighted ab work and called it good.

Well just yesterday I started one of Fitness Freaks endurance rotations. It's only day 2 and I'm too tired to workout this morning. Power hour was the intended w/o. I hope to do some cardio intervals at the rec ctr this afternoon and get back on track with the rotation tomorrow.

Have we decided on another healthy habit to add to our drinking plenty of water each day? I really need to cut down on sugar/candy. I have a terrible habit of eating handfuls of chocolate chips out of the bag. Anyone else for decreasing their sugar/chocolate this week? Unless of course I'm the only one with this terrible habit.

Wendy-so what rotation are you following? I do like lowmax and use handweights for the first two blasts.

Shirl-thanks for popping in!! OMG, I would be furious with DB. Those are expensive to replace so I hope he gets them back for you. I can't wait to get some KB's and doing some of those w/o's. Who does Hi/Lo Knockout?

Jen-I love BM2 also but usually do the premixes. One of my favorite premixes is Mix n Max. It's a mix of LIC, drill max cardio and bm2 finished combos and blasts. Its an 80 min cardio that I really like. Glad you like your new w/o's. I'm sure with all the spoiling and loving your new dog is getting she will come around in no time.

Laura-The rec ctr by my work is starting a new t/th lunch w/o, it sounds like a cardio kickbox with some weights and core added to the mix. It starts in Nov and I hope to be able to take it a few times. Todays high is only going to be 64, tomorrows high is only 45-yikes.

Hi DeeDee and Jacque!!;)

Well I was too tired to workout and now it's 8:15 and I need to shower and head to work, funny how I feel awake enough to workout now!!! This whole working thing gets in the way of my workouts.

bbl

Diana, thanks for the premix recommendation! That's something I have not checked out yet, but will ASAP!!

I always have room to work on reducing my sweets! Count me in! Hopefully I'll do better than I am with the water challenge

Sounds like you're body is calling for some rest. Take it easy and don't sweat it ;).

Is anyone else getting the impression that I'm trying very hard to avoid work today  ??? Oy.

Gotta make it look good for a while, but will BB.

Jen .. <<<What I really need to teach her right now is how to walk on a leash. Any tips you might have would be greatly appreciated!!>>>

aahhh .. leash training ... depending on if she had training b-4 and how they did it would determine a lot. But say she has never been trained .. if she is used to the collar .. put the leash on and love on her let her know it is ok. Then start by keeping her/him to your right leg .. say "heel".. and start to walk and gently tug the leash and start to walk .. if she starts jumping around like a maniac freaking out .. stop and tell her it's ok .. and start again .. once she goes a few steps tell her to stop or hault - make her sit - and praise her and give her a small treat (rewarding w/treats is the best way to get them to learn a trick or train them) .. do the start/heel .. walk .. the stop/sit several times .. start walking her in a circle keeping her to your right .. she will start to look at you and/or your hand ... once she learns this .. then take her around the house doing the same start stop sit praise treat process .. after she masters that .. then venture out .. there will be lots more distractions and she may not respond well to start with .. but keep working at it and as smart as those dogs are she should learn quickly. Just remember your job is PATIENCE and persistance .. if she acts up or does not follow a command .. NO TREAT .. but no punishment .. a quick stern .. NO .. followed by the sit command .. then start all over again!

If you prefer a harness to a collar .. use the same method. With my big babies I had to start w/a collar .. then graduated to a halter .. my big dogs took LOTS of work and "puppy bootcamp" EVERY day . my big dogs are smart .. but stubborn .. LOL!!! But I bet your will learn quickly .. those dog are usually never stubborn and eager to please!!

there are lots of good sites to get different methods of training .. the treat method is always the easiest .. but remember once the dog learns the commands the treats do not come EVERY time ..LOL ... you will end up w/a treat-a-holic!!:p LOL HTH!!!!! :D

Laura, Thank you for the tips! I'll certainly try what you suggest. She's fortunately not afraid of the leash, she just sort of walks me instead of letting me walk her, you know? She pulls like crazy and I need to teach her the heel command. You make it sound very doable!! Thanks again

Jen

Wow, you girls are chatty today. :D

I don't have time for personals. Just wanted to check in to say that I ran 3.30 miles with Grace after work today and it felt good.

Right now I have to scoot off to pick DS up from school and take him to the doc. He has a cough that I want them to check out. Last year when this happened he ended up having the start of pneumonia and I had no idea!!!

BBL to catch up on personals.

Toodles!:)

Hello ladies,

quickie post from me today (what's new) today's workout was a bootcamp class early this morning and I may add in something else later.

so sorry gotta go.

ttyl...

Back from the doc. My son doesn't have pneumonia. He has bronchitis instead. Crap! No school tmrw which means no gym for me so I can't take my Centergy class. May take yoga tonight instead or perhaps I'll take Centergy on Saturday. Not sure yet. In any case I have Legs and Glutes on tap for tmrw as well so it won't be a rest day. That's for sure!

Gotta go make some java and start thinkin' about dinner since I'm actually home early enough to cook. DS had a 3pm doc appointment and they actually took him FAST! We were on our way out the door in 30 minutes! AMAZING! I really expected to sit and wait for a while...

BBL~

I'm back. Dinner was good. We tried a mexican lasagna. It's basically taco stuff made in layers like a lasagna. It was very good. Not clean by any means but I DID use turkey chopped meat instead of ground beef. That counts for SOMETHING, doesn't it? :)

Now I have to go pick up DS' medication. I'm not going to go to the yoga class tonight. Not in the mood. I am sore from MM so yoga would probably be good for me right now but I just don't wanna. It's too late. I'll fall asleep! LOL

I'll take Centergy on saturday instead....

BBIAB for those personals, I swear!;)

Hey X factor chics;)

So I went to the Walmart today that had those 8# medicine balls on clearance. I went ahead and snagged one for $11. I'm not sure what I'm gonna do with it yet though.
Today was plyoX. It didn't kick my butt like it usually does but I think it's b/c I'm adding in more cardio with the run and the EXT. Too bad the X isn't doing wonders like it used to. Time to try something new I think. Speaking of which.....did ya all see the blog and new youtube clip?? It looks like so much pain! I can't wait!

Wendy - You didn't go on the ride along?? *kicks Wendy right square in the rump* It IS so much fun! I don't think they would've pryed you out of that car after going a few laps.;)
Glad Joey's gonna be just fine. It's awesome that you didn't waste your whole afternoon there.
So is centergy a yogish type of workout?

Shirl - Grrrrrrrrrr! I'd be furious too! Hope you get your hands on the X soon. At least you are enjoying your KB's in the meantime.

Jen - Awwwwwww - your dog story is so touching.:) I think you fell into a win - win situation. ;)
With BM2 - I like that w/o but sometimes the music starts to annoy me for some reason. I don't know why either b/c Cathe's music is generally to my liking.

Laura - I want your weather!! Winter is coming just too darned soon here.:(
Poor SIL.....it doesn't sound like good news for her. She's not stubborn or anything is she? Are you sure you 2 aren't related by blood?? LOL!
Oh the deer here get bonkers after Nov 1st when bow season starts. All the hunters go in and stir them up out of the woods.

DeeDee - BC is a good way to start the day eh? But, sometimes I prefer coffee.:p

Diana - This is still supposed to be water week. I did oh so poorly over the weekend on my water.:( Laura gets to make the call next Monday....so, at least we will be able to have our CABs.:p I hear you on the sweets though.

Hey Jacque.....hope all is well with you today.

Check you all tomorrow.

Angie
