Wt Watchers ~~ Wednesday~~

Cathlete
Morning WW'ers... Looking forward to reading yesterday afternoon posts a bit more closely and getting back with personals!

I had to change my workout schedule today as I am fasting until my 10am Drs appt (hormone doc) so I don’t want to lift this morning without my fuel. I shall do a fasted Cardio Kicks & Abs combo of MIS, PowerHour & CoreMax 1. That should be plenty for an empty stomach!

I have great "new" soreness in my quad area just above knee from yesterday’s leg fest! Feels nice & toasty this morning without any "pain". Interesting feeling for me. Its usually all or nothing.

Drank 136ounces of water yesterday and felt thirsty almost all day long! My urine was clear so I wasn’t physically dehydrated. Weird because I had strength training only yesterday w/ no cardio so I didn’t even work up to my regular sweatfest! Anyway.... I am drinking 96 ounces consciously (sp) and then like yesterday just drinking more as my body wants it. Scale dropped . 4 today and that’s after an unusually heavy healthy dinner as I preparing for the fast today. Also did a 7pm lite dessert. So after 2 days of drinking un-godly amounts of water the scale weight has dropped about 1.4 pounds. I do believe dehydration was the ticket! You are so smart around here… THANK YOU!

Wanted to share my greatest success story yet… I bought a pair of Junior’s size 7 shorts 4 years ago in anticipation of one day fitting into them. I have never been able to zip around my hips and the legs were skin tight. Yesterday for giggles I slipped them on and they were actually a perfect fit! I really cannot believe how weight lifting has changed my body shape- I don’t know why I cant get past caring about the scale because I’m wt is back up to 131.2 but I’m in the teeniest pair of shorts I’ve ever owned…. STILL want to see the # at 125 tho. Closest I’ve been was last week 127. Is it unrealistic to think the scale will go there now with muscle? I still have so much BF to lose… Just thinking out loud.

Back in a bit w/ personals!

Have a great day to all if I miss anyone!

Good morning WWer's!

Traci - WOOHOO on the downward movement of the scale! Wow, what a workout on an empty stomach. I don't think I'd make it!

DS was doing pretty well yesterday. He was hurting more yesterday afternoon. He is trying not to get frustrated, but I can tell that he wants to be better like "NOW". He's like his mama, no patience with this sort of thing.

I didn't make it to WW last night but I wasn't about to weigh in anyway! Giving it another week. I have to weigh in sometimes this month.

Oh yeah... it is 43 degrees here this morning!! A virtual heat wave! It is suppose to be up to 56 today. Wow what a difference from the teens we've had in the mornings the last few days. We are getting a wind shift up from the south (thanks Amy for sending that our way!) and it feels much better!

Have a good day everybody.

~~~~~ Personals~~~~~
JANE:
I am so happy that DS is showing signs of his mothers impatience! What a fabulous sign that he is on the mend. Gotta LOVE the warmth in midst of winter even if you like cold weather! Wouldn’t it be nice if we could pick & choose from all the seasons based on clothes we wanted to wear for day, mood etc…. Hope you have a great workout planned today.
LoriS:
Hope your show was hugely successful and that you & DH made it safely. Great way to feel it in those shoulders! Hope you got the oldie but goodie Step done! I love puling out the old ones.. Just adding a riser can make them VERY intense or keep it low for a “lighter day”- good choice!
GIDGET:
Awesome job on LowMax! Hope you got out of house for some visiting time.
CHERYL:
LOVE that you noticed all the awesome body changes in that mirror! You have certainly worked your tail off for those gains. It feels good I’m sure to finally see something that’s working so well!
TeddyGirl:
Whats up with that food fest? Are you eating enough pro/carb/fat each mini meal? CLEAN OUT THAT DESK DRAWER woman! Ya know Im going to fuss when you call out for help!
AMY:
Holy smokin’ cow woman! What a marathon workout yesterday! You’ve got stamina for sure! Dinner menu sounded DIVINE!
BELINDA:
So happy that you are feeling better! The encouragement & support from this group has magical powers I tell ya! Forget the scale for a bit or at least only WI when you are trying on 1 specific piece of clothing to compare… that’s the only way to keep from going bananas I think. Glad there is at least potential help coming with yappers outside! What kind of car did your DS get last night?
CLAUDE: Hope all is well and you have that new TM and workout room all set up…. Just imagine all the nights with Coach Sean you’ll be able to have… ahhhhhhhh
Have a great day all! I gotta get this work out in and get cleaned up for doc so will see you this afternoon at some point.
Morning,
I got rid of everything except my hard pretzels }( I should never ever went to Marc’s when I’m hungry, me no better}( However, I’m back on track today, yesterday, actually wasn’t that bad. Oh, I can not stomach eating meats twice a day, the brown n serve turkey sausages are out. But, the grits stays :p :p having it today with 3 egg whites. I promise NO chocolate, even tho it was so tasty.
This morning, I really enjoyed GS legs awesome/ killer workout. Tonight, PUB or MIS & abs haven’t decided between the two yet.
Tracie, this is why you, we shouldn’t rely on any scale it’ll drive one crazy. I determine my progress by my clothes and my mirror, Nice work my friend. And a awesome workout you have plan for today I’ll check in later.
Teddygirl~
Woke up this morning is a GREAT mood!!! I slept like a baby (especially after putting the ear plugs in at 2a when DH started snoring!:p ) DH also got some sleep, so he's actually his "normal" self and that's what I like. You know it sucks when both of us are taken over by aliens!
Anyway, not as many DOMS like I thought from Leaner Legs yesterday. I like that workout because it's all standing, no floor work. For some reason, some days I just can't get the rhythm of the floorwork and it's especially frustrating because I can't keep my step from sliding on the carpet. I usually end up breaking out the yoga mat and wrapping it around the step completely. I works sometimes. Anyway, there's usually equipment failure for my floor work, so yesterday was nice.
Traci- AWESOME job on the clothes!!! That's totally cool! I can't wait to fit into my next size smaller (that would be a 10 for me)!!! BTW- I would TOTALLY love to take you up on your offer of a "vacation" spot sometime! If nothing except a mental vacation! Thanks for the offer!
Cheryl- I hope that you have a great last meeting. Yes, it would be wonderful to meet you all in person sometime! I've already bragged on you, girl. "I have a friend in Utah that wants to come for the DB run next year!"
TG- Congrats on cleaning out the desk drawer! No, we'd never expect a woman to give up chocolate!! I hope that you have reined in the eating. Like I said before, you can have my grits!
LoriS- I hope that the jewelry show went well and that you got home safely. I was going to say that if your DH was kind enough to drive you, then don't worry about rushing just for his benefit. It sounds like he's driven you before, thus has a rough estimate on how long something like that takes.
LoriG- I hope that you were able to get your workout it today! It's always nice when circumstances/DS play in your favor!!!
Jane- I am glad that DS is feeling a bit better. Yes, it's going to be a long haul, but if nothing else, this will teach DS a bit of patience! It will get better and better each day!!!
Oh, I forgot, I have a facial scheduled for noon today. They called to confirm yesterday. HMMMMMMMMM, yummy facial!!! I always feel like I have a bright and shining face afterwards. I hope I am able to get Drill Max in before I have to leave for my appt!
Quick check in before heading out to Dr....
Ok- I now think Cardio Kicks Arm drill segment is more intense than KPC ones and the legs arent bad either! I had forgotten how utterly cool this w/o is. For some reason it just moves quickly but with great drill segments. Kick was probably not my best choice after leg fest yesterday as my kicking drills were quite uncomfy with legs & thighs like lead. Abs marathon was awesome! Did that first so my kickboxing was really intense in abs as well. I believe that all the Plyo X is responsible for my new found strength & height in jump kicks today. My legs were as high as the "team" which is a first for me. Yeah... Tony has taken my Cathe stuff to a whole new level for sure!
Back this afternoon! Great day to all!!!!
Goooooood Mooooorning! (sort of. It's still dark here in S.F.!)
Traci, does Cardio Kicks use the step or any equipment? Just curious if it's a travel choice.... like Kick Max WOULD have been if I'd brought it along x( x( x(
Traci, girl WOO HOO on the water and the weight. If the scales has dropped that quickly, I think you're on to something, girl! And hurray on the shorts! The mirror and the fit of the clothes will always outrank the scale, every time! My crystal ball says you will also see the bodyfat loss as well in time, if you persist and you really want to. The hormone issues may be part of that - and you will find that out shortly. With the hormone impediments out of the way it would be a straightforward question of how badly you want to do it and what you're willing to do to succeed, or are you happy enough at that point to simply sustain?
Amy, so happy you woke up happy! Here's to a wonderful day and a killer good mood. Glad DH slept well too. Love your "meaner legs" title - good one! I'm going to remember that. (haven't done that one yet, I realize)
Teddygirl, good for you on the desk clean out! Glad you caught the connection and nipped that right in the bud. If it's not there, you can't eat it. That's my strategy at work - I take ziplog bags of spinach/tomato, a grapefruit cup, and a couple of nuts - and when I eat that, it's gone and that's how I've been managing lately to eat perfectly at breakfast and lunch... then the decisions are all over with until Dinner.
Jane, so glad DS is doing so well!! Don't blame you on skipping WW last night. You had higher priorities. You'll get back in soon enough.
Okay, on to Firm It Up (ouch!) and then a 1 hour treadmill run, I think... if I'm waiting to 8:00 PST, the hotel TM should be free.
Did feel some nice chest and shoulder DOMS yesterday from Monday's PUB. Yayy!
Have a great day, everyone!!
Cheryl
Good Morning...My jewelry show went great last night. It was my best one so far this year. The girl lives in an apartment, and she had 11 people, so my husband left & went to Walmart. He said he would be back at 8:30, and I looked at my watch, and it was 8:55, and he wasn't back yet!! I started to get kinda worried because he is very punctual. Finally, a little after 9 he came up. He said he stood outside the door at 8:30, and there was so much laughing going on, he didn't come in yet. It was nice. Everyone had fun, and enjoyed it, and I got 3 bookings!!! It is very nice to do shows when the ladies have fun, & enjoy themselves. Sometimes they just sit there and look at you like they are only there because they were invited, and they are being nice.
I am skipping my WI today. I have so much to do this week, I just decided to cut that one thing out of my calendar. I go every week, faithfully. I really wanted to overindulge last night since I knew I wasn't going to go, but I did not.
The PMS hunger monsters have hit. I had my usual bowl of cereal this morning, and I was still hungry. I am already craving micro popcorn, which isn't that bad. I guess it is also the salt monster. It is so hard to just hang in there, and not binge sometimes!! I hope I can keep it together today.
I am going to do some leg workout today. I haven't decided if it is going to be PLB, and CTX kickbox, or just GS legs. I really do not feel like cardio today, but then I do. It is so nice to be a woman, and be very undecided!!
Lori
Lori, what fun about your party and DH sharing in it with you the way that he did! Glad it went so well.
Well, I put in Firm It up and 30 minutes into it my cellphone rang from the office - had to answer and couldn't get the DVD to pause on the PC - it just stopped. So I went to the hotel TM and had the best 60 min. run I've experienced in a couple of years. I was so happy! I've finally crossed some kind of threshold here and it feels mighty good.
Now I'm trying to take a bit of my own big advice and drink a whole lot of water today :) :)
On to the meetings - I hope everyone has a wonderful day!
Cheryl
I looked for it, I saw Start It UP, Burn it Up, Ramp It Up, and no Firm It Up, where is it? Is it an older workout?
T-Girl, Firm It Up is part of the Slim Series, which was the more advanced series that followed Start It Up/Ramp It Up/Burn It Up, which were the Slim in Six Series.
Just look on BeachBody.com for the Slim Series - or look on eBay for either Slim Series or the specific titles you're looking for. My favorites are Firm It Up and Keep It Up plus Slim in Six Pack (the maintenance 40 min plus 11 min for abs) because they can be used with just a resistance band for travel from your pc.
:eek: Hi Gang- Just back from a very long 3 hour consult & testing w/ bio-identical hormone dr. I really loved her and her facility… Feel free to Fast Forward thru all this if you so wish- It can be boring for those with no hormonal issues! Personals will follow shortly!
Multitude of tests run that will take about 10 days to come back. She complimented me over & over & over about my fitness level being that of a 25-30 year old and used the word LEAN 4 times (yes I counted!!) She said that with my diet as clean as it has been and the exercise I do diligently, that I should be feeling better and more chipper than I ever have in my life. That’s our ultimate goal – 1 step at a time.
Based on a 1 ½ hour visit with doc she has started me on my compounding meds & such. Test results + my feedback on a weekly basis will determine adjustments of dosages.
Classic symptoms for severe adrenal fatigue (can be turned around so meds are temporary)
Medications:
Cortisol SR
Armour Thyroid
Bella Fem Natural Progesterone
Testosterone
For 30 days I will be yeast free and taking Biostatin (30 days) and Diflucan for just 1 week. This should take care of my remaining allergy symptoms as they only occur certain times of the month & with certain foods (All my food/ symptom tracking over the past year was how she spotted this)
Dr commended me on my vitamin / mineral supplementation and I specifically asked her about my Primrose dose and she said that it was probably perfect. She is having me reduce it to 4 in AM & 4 in PM since I should be starting to level out in a few weeks.
I go back in 6 weeks but will be doing a weekly phone consult with her to track progress. She said that I should start to see a few more “like my old self” days each month and at 3 months we will know where to go next.
A very interesting, enlightening and hope-filled visit! Keep logs ladies and pay attention to your bodies – it really saved so much trial & error with initial meds.
~~~~~ Personals~~~~~
:7 Teddygirl: Woo Hoo & ^^^5 for cleaning that drawer out! I would always eat that stuff in 1 sitting so I know all about keeping too much at hands reach! Great job on GS Legs this mornin' - 1 of my fav's!

:eek: Amy: Gotta love those "happy days"... funny how we can literally WAKE UP happy sometimes! You're making me want to pull out old Meaner Legs.. Its in my rotation but I cant recall where. So when ya coming out for girl time??????? Thanks for reminder about facial... I need to get mine scheduled for early next week! Hope you ENJOY the pampering!! Have fun with Drill Max...OMG its a killer isnt it?

:7 CHERYL: No equipment needed with Cardio Kicks- yet ANOTHER perk! I really really have a blast with that one... has the 2 dudes from Boot camp in it too! YEAH! Cathe calls them to front & center 1/2 way thru.. its FUN! The scale (I know I know) at Drs weighed me in at 131.0 fully clothed after 80 ounces of water! I want HER scale! Sorry about only 30 minutes of FIU but REALLY excited about your incredible TM run! You are just making such great gains Cheryl... are you Proud Mary these days?

:eek: LoriS: Congrats on the terrific show last night! That kinda makes the whole trek worthwhile eh? Great way to control your "out of control desires" on the food too! See all the progress? Enjoy Legs today... I love Leg Work! Makes me feel STRONG!

Happy Afternoon to all who follow!!!

Traci- That's so cool about the doc!! I am so glad that you like her and that she made you feel great as well! I made my appt with my doc for next week. It turns out that the timing was perfect as my aliens have completely left the building! Thanks, also for going through the whole thing. I looked on the internet the other day and took a quick yes/no quiz to see if this is something that I need to really look into. Well, the scoring legend stated that with a score of 16+ there was an absolute hormone deficiency.....I scored a 42!!!!! It's been so long since I felt "myself" that I almost don't remember what that feels like! I think that it's also interesting about the yeast.

Cheryl- I think that I had ordered the Slim Series over a year ago, but never got it. I actually had forgotten about it until I received a card from BB stating that they were going to charge me now for it as I wasn't charged for it when I ordered it!!! I got THAT nipped in the bud, right quick! Great Job on the TM run!!!

LoriS- Congrats on the awesome show!! AND on such an understanding/thoughtful DH!!!

I never got all of DM finished....had to stop after drill #4 because my facial lady called and wanted to know if I could come 30 min early. I think that I will finish, though! It's a bit interesting, especially with all the lower body work after Meaner Legs/Monster Mash yesterday!!! I am determined to finish DM, though!!!

Stopped off at the local seafood shop that's pretty big and popular here. I got some super lovely shrimp for dinner tonight. I am thinking that Shrimp/Whole Wheat (with milled flaxseed) fettucini with pesto and lemon. I am also going to cook some fresh green beans, then heat them through with a touch of olive oil and garlic. Does that sound clean enough??? I also picked up a gorgeous swordfish steak and some beautiful grouper fillets. That's the one thing that I LOVE about living in Florida, there's always beautiful fresh seafood that doesn't cost an arm and a leg!!!

Well, I'm off to peel/devein shrimp then to finish DM before dinner~!

Later, ladies!

Second half of DM is done!!! Wow, it almost took me as much time to finish it as to do the first half! I'll tell you, the second half felt much harder, but I was able to put more of myself into it! It felt great! OH, BTW, I'm supposed to receive my Cardio Kicks today!!! Yea!!!

Anyway, off to rinse off in the shower and then on to din-din!!

Hey, ladies!

Finished with the last meetings in SF.... will probably eat room service here at the hotel (I know, boring!!!) and finish my trip report - then home early tomorrow a.m.!!!!!

Traci, Wow, the doctor's appointment sounds like exactly the right ticket. Oh, what a cooindidence that you are on exactly the same prescriptions I have }( }( }(

That's fantastic that she started you right off - my doc didn't do anything except for nonprescription DHEA until the blood results came back, so I had a longer wait before we actually got rolling.

What an upper - you've had a scale drop due to the additional water, plus new ammunition from getting your hormones in check. You gotta be feeling on top of the world, girl!

Amy, so glad you set your doctor's appointment for next week. Test result of 42-----I think you've honed in on your issue!!!!!! Wow.
Sooo glad you're going in right away. This could make all the difference for you. Kind of surprising you've gotten as far as you've gotten with your hormones so far out of whack... can I come to your house for dinner??? Sounds YUMMO!

Well, off to room service and PR trip resports - sigh - have a wonderful evening, everyone!

Cheryl

Hey Girls,

Im not even sure if anyone is around tonight but I thought I would check in anyway. The internet was down all day so I couldn't do anything computer related.

Happy to say that I did all of S,J&P today. As soon as I got out of the shower I heard the baby crying. It worked out perfectly....do you think maybe he knows????:) :) :) I think tomorrow is only a 45 min run so I shouldn't have any trouble fitting that in. Today I worked out in the afternoon and that seems to be a better time for me. The only thing is, thats when I like to go out if I am going anywhere for the day...or take a nap. Morning exercise is better but he naps longer in the afternoon.
Hopefully the internet will be working tomorrow and I can check in bright and early.
Lori

:)

Cheryl- I am glad that your meetings are finished and I hope that your dinner was decent. You are more than welcome to come for dinner. I must say that even with working without a recipe (made it up as I went along), it turned out super yummy!!! I *so* wanted a glass of wine with it! But I resisted!!! I will indulge tomorrow, though......AFTER I go to my WW meeting!

LoriG- I am glad that DS cooperated with the workout! Now, when is he going to cooperate with the sleeping all night!?!?

Lori -

I'm still up! This is SF tonight, you realize :)

So glad the baby cooperated with your workout tonight. Sounds like it was a good one. You're so dedicated to stay at it with all the distractions you have!

Amy, the dinner sounds YUMMY.

I actually broke down and cabbed to Union Square. Walked through the mother-of-all-Nordstroms... didn't buy anything... (in a glum mood over a mean stunt my bus. partner pulled on my son who works at the agency... bad story...) but had some fast-food grilled shrimp topped off with an organic yogurt/granola/fruit cup. Very yummy! So I feel better.

Have a great night's sleep everyone!

Cheryl

Hi everyone!
We bought my son a sunata that is two years old. It is his first car. My husband and I bought a new car for my daugter when she graduated, so we figured it was better to be fair. Now al he wants to do is drive around. I am still very nervous letting him drive alone.

My weight is back down again which has liften my spririts. It really bumbed me out when I saw it had gone up.

Cheryl good job on your run.

Amy your making me hungry, I love seafood.

Traci I am happy for you that you fint in a size 7 junior's shorts.
