Hi Jo and Deb!
Two of my favorite girls in one place!
Thanks for the encouragement on my workout ambitions, both of you.
Jo, you may be wondering what Deb means about my tailbone.

I fell off my step (that looks just as stupid in print as it feels) and badly sprained my ankle and landed very hard on my tailbone last Thursday. I'm happy to report that my ankle is much improved. It's still swollen but not nearly as much, and the bruising looks like it's trying to clear out. I can put weight on it comfortably and can even rotate it without any pain at all, just a little not-surprising stiffness. Yesterday afternoon I managed to get a Ryka over my Ace wrap and sock, and with that setup (my foot looked like a cube on the end of my leg) I was able to do all of CTX UB Split with no problems, even the standing back work. I was very careful about distributing my weight and not leaning into or on that ankle. I think it'll be a few more days before I can do cardio and maybe even a couple of weeks before I dare try anything with propulsion, but later this afternoon after I take Alex to a doctor's appointment I might try 5 minutes on my elliptical and/or my recumbent bike and see how it reacts. Keep your fingers crossed! ;-)
The recumbent bike might be an issue because of my &%^%! tailbone. I am NOT happy to tell ya that my tailbone may actually be broken or chipped or something, because I discovered when I did CTX chest that it hurt sharply and A LOT to roll back on it. That was a shockeroo, let me tell ya. But I don't have discomfort in any other position, so for the time being I can modify my way around it while it heals. For example, when rolling down or up onto the step for prone work, I just paused the tape for a second and kinda rolled up or down kind of sideways on one hip. Slow, but it works. I also found to my relief (and surprise) that abs work is comfortable except for lower body crunches -- that "C" shape must pull on it -- but I can do just lower body lifts keeping the upper body on the floor. Just about the only abs exercise I couldn't do right now would be those roll-backs and roll-ups variations (you know, the ones that Cathe does with a stability ball or a med ball or nothing at all). And of course, I can't do pikes or planks because of my ankle. Oh darn. ;-)
So not all bad news from the Idiot Injured ward, and I'm plugging away. Hope all's well with you two pretty gals! Jo, it's really nice to "see" you back here!
