OMG! I finally got released from my PT to start adding some modified High Impact back into my workouts. Yesterday I did the beginning Insanity workout for the first time in about 8 months! Holy moly am I feeling it!!! I took an epsom salt bath last night as well as two Zinc Mag last night and am still hurting today.

My schedule also got a little off-track which I had forgotten how much of a difference it makes especially when getting back into the swing of routines. Normally, I have PT on Tues & Thurs- last minute schedule change so I go tomorrow for appt. #2. I am not a big fan of Aleve & such but may give in tonight ... any other suggestions are welcome! is that DOMS whispering/shouting my name.... HA! PT tomorrow so look out!

Thanks!

Hi Pam,
I was in PT about 2 years ago after a car accident injured my back, neck and shoulder's. Hang in there! You'll be back in full recovery in no time.
Don't know if you are interested, but acupuncture really helped with my recovery along with massage. I am not opposed to medication, but I was looking for a more holistic approach. I can do all of Cathe's greatest and hardest now.

Take care,

Natasha

Hey Natasha!

Thanks for the encouragement. My PT does what is called dry-needling- which is like acupuncture on steroids!! She uses long & thick needles- about the size of a toothpick and goes into the belly of the trigger point muslce that is spasming. It hurts like hell for a few seconds but once the muscle releases, it is such a relief!! We've had the best results from the needling. While it's not fun- the discomfort is very temporary- especially compared to the chronic pain I've been in for years.

Have a fantastic weekend!

Pam

Pam: I totally get this, having been working on my recovery from my rt shoulder/arm break last summer these past few months. I have been working on it since last October and am still working on it...but started with baby steps and it is gradually getting better.

Sometimes I would get so discouraged with my progress and was tempted to sit down, let my fanny expand, and have a pity party...and you may too...but don't stop (unless your PT says) and it will definitely get better.

best wishes

Thank you Tracy! I really appreciate the support. It has been discouraging over the past year and having added 10lbs to my 5'0 frame didn't help with that self-esteem blaster. I started back up on Weight Watchers again and am adding time to my workouts each time I do it- even if just a few minutes. It sure feels good to be getting back to my smaller self- I'm down 2lbs over the past two weeks. Still need to lose more that 10lbs, but it's a good feeling the see the scale & my clothes looking/feeling better!

You all are awesome!

Pam
