Workout Warriors - Summer Revival

30/30 this morning. Derek goes to the orthodontist this morning to get stuff removed and a retainer. He's very happy to be moving on in the process.

Did 20 minutes of Kung Fu Kickboxing, and Skoggs Interval 1.

Dishes, laundry, vacuum, mop, dog walk, dog brushing.

This morning I did High Step Challenge the longer time saver pre-mix. Yesterday one of my lower teeth/gum started bothering me and it got really bad during the night. :( I took a couple pain relievers around 5:30 and an hour or so later it was finally tolerable. I share a bizarre trait with my sister in that our lower jaws cannot be completely numbed, and of course this is in the lower jaw. Same area I've had problems with in the past and hoped we'd solved last time I was in. I'm cringing at the idea of even getting it looked at, but I need to know exactly what it is. The idea of having to have it worked on again is quite frankly scary. I can literally have half a dozen shots all around the tooth and STILL feel it. I don't handle the stuff they use to knock you out well, so even if I went somewhere that did that, I'd just have other issues. Today it totally sucks to be me. Ok, enough whining.

On the bright side, it's clear and sunny and not supposed to be hot today and we're meeting friends at a park this afternoon.

This morning I did Leaner Legs for the first time. It's a good leg workout, but traditional standing leg work has never been a fave of mine and it's all standing.

Finally went last night and bought a different pain reliever to try. Couldn't get into my dentist until this afternoon and the stuff I was taking wasn't really doing anything. Either it's getting better on it's own or what I got is just much more effective. I hate taking them and I can go years between times that I do, but this was the worst pain I've ever had and that includes both of my labors with no drugs!

It's turned much cooler here. Got down near 50 overnight. The boys were going outside to play and both came back to put on long shirts under their T-shirts. Yesterday at the park, I had to add a pullover because it was breezy, the sun kept hiding and it was only around 70. Normally, 70 would be great, but after all those 90+ days, it was feeling pretty darn chilly.

Cathy,

Sorry to hear you have been in pain. I am glad you found a pain reliever that works. I usually use Ibuprofen for inflammation/swelling and Acetaminophen for pain, and one of each if I am experiencing both.

I ran today on the TM then did my kettlebell workout.

Looks like the check-in is winding down again. Perhaps we should fold up the tent and move on, what do you think?

:)

Unfortunately, I was getting ready to post about that, too, Janis. It's tapered off to almost nothing. :(

Hi Cathy

If you are so inclined, you could join another check-in group. :)

I'm continuing with kettlebells, at least through the end of the year, and I'm also beginning a Rushfit rotation soon. I don't have Cathe's new series plugged into my rotation until November, at the earliest!

Busy time for me at home, too. Helping my older sons set up their new apartment, getting my youngest squared away with his online high school, dh starting a business, and more company coming this week....three more young men, ages 19, 21, 24. I'll be cooking cooking cooking, which I love!

Email me with an occasional update, k?

Best,
:D

I've thought about checking out another check-in, but never got around to it the last time this one wasn't active. I definitely like having one.

I'm looking forward to the new workouts and I'll probably start using them when I get them. I'd be surprised if we actually have them before mid-September, so I'll have to come up with a two or three week fill-in rotation.

Enjoy your busy life and do keep in touch. Our August is looking like the most time off we've had all year. Then come September we'll be diving into the whole school routine for the first time!

Anyone wants to keep in touch you can e-mail me at [email protected]

Just got back from hiking mountains in Glacier National Park. We put on 30 miles in 4 days. Had a great time! Thank goodness for all the workouts or I would never have made it up all those mountains! My hip joints got sore, but my muscles never let me down.

Do I take the weekend off? Or do I get started up right away? I'll decide that later. It's good to be home. My dogs were SO HAPPY when we got home last night.
