I have the best DH! He wasn't supposed to get me anything for my birthday, but he knows I have wanted a squat rack for a long time (we've looked, but just hadn't found one). Well, he got me a home gym that also has a Smith squat rack on it. It's got everything I could imagine. I posted pics on my Picture trail, as well as other pics of my workout room - which is in our ufinished, walk-out basement. I helped put it together (hold this, hold that) and it took almost all day!

Well, I hate you now--I hate anyone who has a designated workout room:p :p . I'd say your DH is a keeper;). Have fun with your new toy!
 
It looks awesome! Your DH sounds like a great guy. :) I can't wait until we have our own house back in the States so I can have a workout room.:D
 
Way cool, Suz!! I can't wait until I move (sometime within the next 2 yrs or so) so I can get a basement for a workout room!!! DH has already planned to set one up for me, although I don't think it will be as impressive as yours!

Congrats on the new equipment! What a sweetie he is. Love your workout room. Do you use the TV for the computrainer (not sure how that all works)? Is the Bowflex gone now?

Congratulations on the new machine for "the machine you"!!!!! It's a beauty!!! Your workout room looks very nice and I like your bike too. I will be moving our weight equipment into a finished basement when we move. Do you have heat down there for when it gets cold?

Michele - it was the 14th. I'm a whopping 44 years old. I sure don't feel like I thought I would at this age. :)

Stephanie and Amy - we'll all be waiting to see pics of your workout rooms when you get them. How fun!

Jeanette - I use my laptop with the CompuTrainer. DH made me a shelf right next to my bike to put it on. I wouldn't know how it all works without him. :p I'm going to sell my Bowflex now. :( DH says I can keep it, but I don't really need it anymore. I would feel a little greedy keeping EVERYTHING. :) He never used the Bowflex, but he said that he would probably use this on his Fridays off. He usually works out at the PD. He's in charge of the gym there and so orders all the workout equipment. Talk about a nice gym. And they get to work out on work time - it's mandatory. How nice!

Charlotte - thanks. :) That's my very first road bike that I bought back from the gal I sold it to b/c she - GASP - hung the poor baby in the garage and didn't ever ride it, not even once. Yup - got heat in the basement thank goodness! CONGRATS on your new house!!! How exciting for you!

Deana - don't EVER lose hope. I didn't meet my DH until I was 30 and we've been married for 13.5 years and I couldn't be happier. Before him I was engaged to someone who would have made a TERRIBLE husband. God saved me from that one! :) There really are good men out there.

You mean DOGGIES? They are fabulous! Dan and I both agree that Lucy is probably the best dog either one of us have ever had - all she wants to do is to please us. She loves to run with me, play at the doggie park (she has a boyfriend, it is so funny! she is playful with all of the dogs, but with this one in particular she really is all over him biting and wrestling! too cute!) and she is the best cuddler. Dan said that every night he has to pull her off of me when he goes to bed. She is so great! We did get a golden pup from a rescue and they LOVE each other! She doesn't have a name yet because we can't agree on anything, but she is already almost housetrained (9 weeks old) and Lucy and she love to wrestle. This pup will nibble and squirm all over Lucy and she just lays there like she doesn't feel a thing tail just a-waggin'! So cute!!

So, how did you think you would feel? You don't look like most people in their mid 40's either, you are such a hottie! :7

Suz, the room looks great! That was so nice of your dh to do for you. Looks like you've had lot of good equipment now to "play" with.

Missy - ANOTHER dog??? My goodness girl! Good for you. I think dogs should always have a friend. And Lucy has a boyfriend already? Yikes!

I guess I figured I'd be middle-aged looking, out of date hairstyle, out of shape. Hehehe. I just thought I'd look different and feel different I guess. I mean, not from last year to this, but when I was much younger I just saw mid 40's differently. But I'm HAPPY for the way my life has turned out. :)

I don't know if it's been said yet, and but you've got a very handsome husband!! Seriously though, what a beautiful couple -- both of you!!
