Workout logs

I ercently purchased two workout logs:
1) Suzanne Schlosberg Ultimate Workout Log 3'rd Ed.
and
2) BodyMinder Workout and Exercise Journal

I prefer the Body Minder as there are two pages per day. Although the Ultimate Workout Log has been upgraded to one page per day (it used to be a half page/day...there is not more room for strength exercises or cardio. I found that I needed more log room for strength training. The log blocks have gotten a little bigger and thet have added a small daily wrap-up section and a mind-body note section. The upside is a six month log.

The Body minder is only a 13 week log but I find I can more accurately record everything. There are more blocks for strength training and you don't need to use a different block if you change your weight for a set. You can enter it on the same line. There is more room and more data that you can enter for cardio as well and the nutrition log is more detailed. There is also a comment section. There is also a section for including hosework. Love this one. I recommend it highly. They are both about the same price, about 10-12 dollars.

Thanks Cathy, Can yu tell me where you purchased them. I have been looking for something with alot of space to write in. Right now I am writing in a copy book in between pages of crayons and marker pictures from my kids. Karen

Amazon.com had the BodyMinder..I believe through an outside vendor but it came in 4 days and with regular shipping. There are also order forms in the book for ordering directly from the company. The number is 800-888-3392. When you order more than one from this number, you can save $2/journal

The Schlosberg journal was ordered through ebay and came in 4 days as well.

Cathy:

I thought that room for taking measurements and recording meals would be helpful, too. Also - pockets to store articles of interest. (I subscribe to several fitness mags.) I'm going to look around and see what I can find . . . or I could design one myself. Remember me? I also purchased the Schlosberg journal from ebay.

Hi Gretchen
Of course I remember you. You helped me with ebay info. The Bodyminder has pages at the back for weekly progress in terms of weight, body fat% and body measurements.Plus there is space for resting Heart rate and BP. I forgot to mention that. Also a weekly recording for how much cardio you did that week, how many times/week you worked out particular body parts. There is also a decent nutrition log with space for each meal, snacks, vitamins other meds/day. There is also very limited envelope space to put cards etc in. I like this one a lot. Good luck on your endeavor. Keep me posted.

I made my own workout log. It's on A4 sized paper and has one page for running and one page for all other w/o per week, a page for a 4-week rotation schedule, pages for extra notes, a page for montly goals, pictures, room to glue in articles, etc. Had the pages copied for a whole year and binded. I used a Schlosberg log once, but they're quite expensive and only last 6 months. So I made my own for 2004 and was very pleased with the result. I made a few changes to my 2005 log.
