workout for Christmas

Cathlete
Hi,
I was just planning my workout for Christmas Eve and was wondering what workout if any, you all are going to do? I am debating between cardio or weights, which is best? Any opinions? I won't be working out on Christmas Day but will on Christmas Eve, but not sure what workout to do yet. Just curios about what everyone else will be doing.

Thanks
Michelle:)

Hi. I am following a previous rotation of Cathe's that includes mainly HSTA. I have that scheduled for Christmas Eve with MIC the day before. Body Max is the day after Christmas. KPC and L&G is also scheduled for next week, so I think by Christmas, I should really be in need of a break. Of course with three kids, I will probably be up and busy all day! I love Christmas, but it can be exhausting! I wish I had a magic wand that could do all of the assembling, cleaning, cooking, etc.:(

I'm doing the Dec. 2003 rotation, so Christmas Eve is SJP. I get to start Christmas off right...a little KPC! Whoo-hoooo!

I am doing the august rotation 2004. I am going to do the rotation's workout and bootcamp or the gaunlet in the terminator dvd too.

Michelle,

I would recommend you do a high intensity workout that includes both cardio and weights. Do you have Terminator? Any of these workouts on this video would definitely do the trick. This high intensity workout will help rev up the metabolism to help burn off more calories in preparation for a large Christmas Day meal.

i haven't decided yet! too far off!

i have decided i'm not riding (bicyle) that day... it was hard to plan thanksgiving dinner around a bide ride... .so not doing it for christmas! but i will do a good workout that morning!

i will be going for a bike ride in c-mas eve along with a workout (depending on the weather for the bike, of course!)

OMG, I'm still trying to figure out what cookies I am going to bake this weekend and what I will cook for 10 people for Christmas dinner.

Hi Michelle,
I'm going to be doing L/G and KPC. I guess I didn't help much.

Fab 40,
Can you e-mail some of those cookies. I figure cyber-cookies have less calories.

Hi Michelle,

Haven't really decided, but will be a wt/cardio combo. I'm thinking either The Gauntlet or Bodymax. Something to really burn the calories and up the metabolism.

I am slated for SJP also, due to the rotation I am on. Christmas day is the one day all year that I take off, so I figure I will kill myself the day before!:7

I've got a run on the treadmill scheduled along with abs and a long stretch. I have the day off so I will workout early in the a.m. before all the crazy errands begin.

I scheduled Christmas day as a rest day.

If it's not raining, then I'll run 5 miles followed by KPC abs. If it's raining, then I'll do one of the Imaxes, followed by KPC abs.

To help make up for all the sitting around I'll be doing (including 5 hours in the car), I'm planning on KPC--IF I can make myself get up early enough :).

I've got a dilemma going on this topic. We will be at my parents for close to a week. I could easily take my DVDs and would even have time to do them, but what about weights and step, I can't really haul all that! I also can't live without Cathe for a week. Guess I'll take the non-step cardio workouts and maybe one pair of dumbells, and try to make do!

Any suggestions? I will have access to a treadmill and a health club, but it's so boringgggggg. :p

You could do something like this (this is assuming you took no dumb bells):

Day 1: Treadmill (walk and/or run)
Day 2: KPC
Day 3: MIC hi/lo & abs hits
Day 4: Treadmill (walk and/or run)
Day 5: KPC
Day 6: SJP hi/lo & MIC hi/lo

You could alway do SJP step without a step. Anyway, just a suggestion. You would probably be surprised what you can come up with!

Bodybars (even just one) would be helpful and usually can be fit into the car/truck somewhere, depending of course on your vehicle.
You could also take bands & use them with your usual Cathe workouts...you'd be surprised how it changes them.

OR, you could take the week off & come back stronger than ever from the body's rest.

OR you could concentrate on cardio for the week...lean out with some running?

Whatever you do, have a nice trip & a very happy holiday,
Ruth:) :)
