Working a bodypart twice a week

Mic

Cathlete
I've been working my shoulders twice a week and have been seeing nice results just wondering if anyone else works the biceps and triceps twice a week as well? What results did you have? Thanks for any comments.

Mic,

I sometimes weight train twice a week if I can fit it in. I usually do a totaly body weight session as opposed to splits. I could either go for endurance using Muscle Endurance or more heavy with Muscle Max.

Hope this helps.

I work my entire body (with the exception of my abs and lower back which I do four times weekly with cardio) and I go slow and heavy twice a week. My personal trainer, who is the bomb diggity, suggested this. I finally went to her after years of working my tail off and not seeing as much definition as I would have liked. Keep plugging away and you will get there.

I work everything twice a week most of the time. I do a day of upper body, a day of lower body, and then a total body day. Then other times, I'll do everything just once a week, or other times I'll throw in a circuit workout instead of total body.... But I think the twice a week routine works best for me.

Beavs: do you do total body when you do your weight workouts, or do you do 1-2 body parts at a time, but just work each body part twice a week? Do you follow a video (or videos), or do you follow a program that your trainer laid out?

Don't know if my questions made sense, but it's still early over here ;).

I was working each body part with the exception (abs and calves-two times) just once. Four day split. Chest/arms, back/calves, shoulders/abs and legs/calves. My reps ranged from 15-10 for all bodyparts except abs which ranged from 30-50.

Worked like a charm, I was able to really push the weights each workout, took one minute rest between sets and did each rep pretty slow. gained nice definition and added some nice lean mass, especially in my shoulders, was dieting really clean and doing alot of cardio too, so that was a factor.

Will go back to this style of training, but did it for 13 weeks and needed to shake it up a bit with some circuits right now. :)

I do a total body sans lower back and abs. I do three exercises of 8 to 10 reps heavy (heavy for me that is!), whatever exercises I feel like that day (I get a lot of ideas from fitness mags) or I use the machines to change it up a bit. It takes me about 45 minutes to an hour as sometimes I will spend extra time on something such as shoulders.

jennifermaria...I did some adjustments with my PT so what I last told you was wrong. If you're interested send me a PM (I tried to send you one but it didn't work) and I will clarify. Or you can read about my program in Oxygen Magazine one day...right after the latest Tosca article. HAAAAAA!
