Why???

Hello everyone? Happy friday to you all!!! Anyway I'll get to the point. I discovered Cathe in Nov. 2005 while I was home with a new born baby and watching Fit Tv and have been hooked ever since. I have all her videos. I havent order STS though and I dont know if I will. I'm still on the fence about it because I have the other videos which already has a great variety and it's also pricey for me right now. I'm in the best shape ever. I even have great muscle definition so I'm pretty much happy. I work out consistently 5-6 days a week doing rotations and eating for the most part pretty clean. With an a occassional indulgence about twice a week. although those are becoming more frequently!!!My weight fluctuates between 123-127 depending on those indulgences and PMS. So I've just been in a funk lately. Like this week I only worked out twice week before was only 4 times. When I got home from work yesterday I ate 2 sleeves of Ritz crackers and some cheese nips and then some icecream. This is happening more and more lately over the last 3 weeks. And I dont know why. I want to do it but I'm just not motivated. But in the same same breath I've worked so hard these last three years to get where I am and I dont want to lose it. Anyway just wanted to vent sorry for going on have a nice weekend every one!!!!

It sounds like you're a little burned out, both with exercise and eating clean. It happens. Maybe there is something else going on in your life too that is adding more stress.

In any case, don't sweat it. Have you considered giving yourself an official vacation ~ no Cathe stuff for a week? Perhaps that will respark your enthusiasm. Then when the week is up, get involved in one of the Check Ins on the forum and start over.
 
It's easier to avoid those kinds of foods if they aren't around.
If there's any way to avoid it (ie: if you live alone), don't bring that kind of stuff into the house. Also, find another satisfying snack that is healthier (a tastey homemade smoothie, for example).

I do think that this time of year (fall--at least it feels like it around here!) is a time when many people's appetites increase. It's that old instinct to put on more fat for the coming winter (even though we don't need it in modern days, our primitive brain still thinks we do).
 
I agree with the above posters....don't bring anything in the house that may tempt you(I know thats hard to do being married w/2 kids myself)

And second...Take a week off from workouts! I absolutely LOVE my rest weeks and usually have one about every six months. It helps me physically and mentally!

You will get back in the swing of things! don't be so hard on yourself:)

I have been consistent with my workouts, but after a week of super clean eating the past couple of days have been quite interesting . . . fishie crackers, ice cream bar, chips after work . . .

I've been in a bit of a funk and that is all it takes for me.

Hope you find your happy medium soon - I am hoping this weekend will be it for me. :D
 
I've been snacking a lot lately too. Sometimes junk, but more often just eating too much of good stuff too. Sigh.


Off topic: Amelia, I just recognized where the picture in your avatar was taken! Is that the lobby of the butterfly house at Callaway Gardens?

Its the cool incoming fall air. Does it for me, too. In the Spring I know shorts season is coming, in the Summer its too hot to eat, but come Fall, its like all bets are off. Its also when all the good home cooked, feel good, comfort foods come out again. And its cool enough to bake! It's hard for me from now til Christmas time. Then in Jan and Feb its homemade hot cocoa cravings to take the cold Winter blahs away. Yup, its in the air!
