why is the lower body so hard to slim down?

Hey Cathe or anyone else,
Why is it that the lower body seems so hard to trim down? I am so confused if I should add more lower body workouts per week or just more cardio? UGH...any help advise is much appreciated. Thanks

Not Cathe, but thought I'd chime in since she is off getting some R & R.

Since we trim off our fat evenly over our bodies but store it unevenly, it may never be possible to get where you want. I know I carry my extra fat on my lower body so that I'll never truly be able to get my thighs to where I'd like them to be without making the rest of my body very very lean.

Not Cathe either,

When I started last Oct. with Cathe's workouts, did lower body & cardio step a lot with beginner rotation, weight came right off the thighs & hips first, 2-3 inches right away, kept stepping & lifting since, lost a total of 5 inches at hips, 3 at waist, & 2 at high waist, in other words it went from lower right up, still losing at waist & high waist & and let's not talk about it area :)

For me it was stepping & lower body, & probably circuits; rotations.
I don't know if it's like that for a lot of people, but stepping is what did it for me.

Linda :)

Interval jogging works on my lower body. I'm thinner in the thigh, butt, and around the knee area. Now if I could only get my upper arms to thin out!

I am somewhat of a pear shape. What has worked for me in the past is kickbox. I was trying to lose weight. I did not lose much but the shape of my legs was changing for the better with kickbox. Wouldn't you know that is my least favorite cardio.

Maybe try to pick your least favorite leg exercises and do it for a month!

Good luck,
Winter

I am a die hard Cathlete and the only thing that really slims my thighs is HiiT 4 days a week (doing mostly plyo work) or running. Whenever I do an Insanity 60 day rotation I get lean in the thighs and hips and the muscles I've developed doing Cathe's weight workouts show!!
