Yes - so true! You can figure out some great stuff, and you can also totally freak yourself out. I did just read an article in a magazine about a lady who started getting a pain in her neck when she had alcohol. It kept happening, after a glass of wine or such, so she googled "weird alcohol pain in neck" (or something like that) and that is a rare symptom of Hodgkin's lymphoma (I think it was - I'm not much on facts here, am I?!) Anyway, she went to the doctor and sure enough, she had it, was treated and totally cured because it was caught so early, thanks to her weird symptom! Most people, though, need to stay off for medical stuff, or use it to educate, not figure out what might be wrong.
Janie - I had shortness of breath for years and complained to every doctor, only to be told I needed to get in shape (ummm, nope, not the problem) When I was finally diagnosed with asthma, I was not far from that doctor sending me straight to the emergency room as my breathing was only points away from what she called the red zone. Because I don't wheeze, no doctor went any further to investigate. Yours is probably stress though - you have been through a lot. Have you tried some yoga? For some strange reason, peppermint Altoids help me sometimes too.
