Why does it take so long to figure it out?!

Ok I'm gonna have to redo my workout plan and see how it works. Too be honest I felt like I was killing myself anyway with all the high intensity cardio...would be nice to take a break from it for a while.

I just ran downstairs and grabbed my Cathe calendar. This is what the past two full weeks looked like:

Sun: Imax 3, only w/u, 1-5, and stretch
Mon: S&H Legs/Shoulders
Tues: S&H Back/Chest
Wed: Body Max, Cardio blast
Thurs: S&H Bi/Tri
Fri: PLB
Sat: Off

Sun: PUB
Mon: Low Max
Tues: PLB
Wed: S&H Shoulders & S&H Bi/Tri
Thurs: KPC
Fri: Off
Sat: S&H Legs/Shoulders & added on firewalkers from B&G - ouch!!;)

By Golly I think I might have it!

You are splitting up the strength w/o's during the week and doing less cardio. Yes?

If so, the possibilities are endless. OMG! Tell me if I have it!! I love your rotation for two weeks. Will you please, because you are now an expert, give us a months worth?

Give me your address and I will send you a sourdough culture in the mail.

If it is that easy, then Melissa you deserve an award! I'm so excited and can hardly wait for the new me to emerge. But first, am I right? Am I getting it?

If you check fitnessfreak366 rotations in the rotation section, is that another rotation you are talking about? I bet it is. OMG!

Monica,

I do think this is what Melissa is talking about. I love the fact that you have a space for yoga in there. Which by the way is a full body workout. OMG! (bells ringing in my head) Getting new ideas, because of this thread.

Why yes Janie, I believe you have it. I was doing alot of circuit workouts and although I love them, I was having a hard time focusing on the weight work. The cardio just took too much out of me. So I tried splitting them up and it's really working out great. Here are the next two weeks of my rotation, so now you have four weeks.

Sun: Imax 2
Mon: PUB
Tues: PLB
Wed: Off
Thurs: Low Max - step only
Fri: GS BSB
Sat: S&H Chest + S&H Tri

Sun: PLB
Mon: Off
Tues: Cardio Fusion
Wed: PUB
Thurs: S&H Legs + B&G floorwork
Fri: BM2 step & intervals only
Sat: BM2 upper body 2x premix

If this doesn't work for you, just plug in the workouts you enjoy and have fun.

Melissa

YEAH!!!!!!!!!

I love this rotation. I'm going to start tomorrow. Are you interrested in the culture? If so just e-mail or message me, and I'll get it out just as fast as I can.

Thank you so much for discovering this and most of all sharing it. I think this is so cool! (Light bulb finally went on, yeah!)

Glad you like it Janie! Thank you for offering to send the culture, that's very kind of you, but no need. I'm just pleased that you like the rotation and I hope you get great results.

I guess that I am finding this very interesting. I am not a true cardio lover, but have learned to like it. But, like many, I have been "trained" that lots of cardio = weight loss. I really enjoy weight training and have gotten really good results from what I have been doing. I have been thinking about the next rotation to do after I get done with Cathe's January rotation. This sounds very intruiging!

Last November/December I really cut back on my weight to 2 days a week and upped my cardio to 4 days (from a 3/3 rotation). With Cathe's January rotation, I am back to the 3/3 split. I will be interested in seeing what results I get from trying this!! It's hot off the printer!

Thanks so much, Melissa!!!

Well, this would certainly explain why I have seen and felt such gains with P90X. I was surprised to see the change, because I was doing Cathe 5-6 days a week. I usually did 3-4 cardio days alternating with 2 strength days. Very interesting! Thanks for bringing this to my attention. I will certainly re-think my workouts after completing the X. And...it is nice to know why the program is working. More strength, less cardio. It is so enlightning.;) :)

Why the heck didn't I think of that?????

I too was working out like crazy cardio!! I started to follow cathe's rotation this month, and then I saw fitness freaks January rotation. She said she found that less was more. I looked at it and said huh?? Where is all the cardio. Cardio 2 days a week? All the strength training. What is that?? Not like I don't do strength, just mostly circuit training and try to go heavy. SO I said, I'l give it a try. It is weird not doing weighs then cardio, then the next day cardio, then weights and more cardio. However, when I look in the mirror now, I really do look different. I feel different. I can't wait to see my results at the end of the month. Check out her rotation, it is pretty good. I just did Slow and Heavy Tri and Bi, and my arms are still shaking (I changed it to be off on a differnt day) I now actually do rest days!
