Why do you workout?

Wow Wanda! What an inspiring story! You should copy and paste it into the "Success Story" forum. As you know, from my success story, my reason for exercising started with the genetics of heart disease in my family. Since then, it has grow to be a true passion of mine! There are so many benefits I receive from it. (Too many to name) Thank you so much for sharing with us. YOUR story is TRULY a success story!

Hey Debbie,
Bless your heart for suggessting I post my story. :D I never really looked at myself as 'a success story'. While I congratulated myself for completing a workout, the feeling always has been, 'this is what I do'.
Isn't exercise addictive though? I've noticed from all the posts, including yours, that what started out as something necessary, also became something we love to do.
We are a strange bunch aren't we? I mean look at the pain we go through doing all those sit ups and we still love it. LOL

RE: MY HAPPY HOUR

Hi All,

Working out for me has been about losing fat, but at one point I was working out almost everyday and I was eating horribly so I stayed nearly 300 lbs even though I could make it through a Cathe workout (the older ones, before she jacked up the tempo)...with some serious modifications...I mean SERIOUS :)

But the main reason I kept working out then and I still workout now...it just makes me feel so dang good about myself. When I finish a workout, or even if I only finish half of it, that is something I did for me and I did it on my own and no one can take that away from me. Let's face it, when we start seeing those improvements (like going from modified pushups to full push ups, or finishing the squats section of PH without having to take an extra rest, or upping the weights, or finally making it all the way through that killer step workout) it is one of the most awesome feelings in the world. You get that 'I can do anything I put my mind to' montra going...well at least I do.:)

So that is why I workout, its my happy hour...and besides, I hate booze.:)

Stay fit,

DeeDee

RE: MY HAPPY HOUR

I work out to keep my stress and anxiety levels down. This helps so much!!

I do it to be healthy, fit and for weight loss & maintenance. I also like it because it sets a good example for my son.

Also....It's SO FUN!!! Especially CATHE and going to the GYM!
