Why are the boobs the first to go? Sorry if this is TMI!!!

But if anyone knows the answer, I really need to know…

I’m speaking for myself of course. Actually, in my case, they are the first and ONLY thing to go… :(

I can’t say that I’ve lost a significant amount of weight as far as the scale or my clothes are concerned, but my boobs are disappearing as fast as I wish my back-fat was!

Why? Is it the heavy weight training, the cardio, cleaner eating?!?!

A couple of nights ago DH and I were lying on the couch watching tv (I was going to say the boob-tube, but it probably would have sounded really lame. Even though I just said it anyway...:p Sorry, I couldn’t resist). Anywho, I was kind of on my side lying half on him, half off. He sifted his weight and I asked him if my girth was bothering him (;)) and he said “No, but your pec is.” What?!?!

Have my boobs been replaced by pecs?!?! I'm not so sure how I feel about that...

I know what you mean about the girls being first to go. The fact of the matter is, boobs are mainly fat tissue -- so off they go...

They say that women lose weight in their hips and thighs last, because the fat reserve is needed for possible pregnancy/breastfeeding. You would think the fat tissue in the breasts would stick around for that reason...

I've been a fitness professional for a good 17 years -- and that one still makes me go hmmmm.....

<sigh> all of the above. I feel your pain--the only time I wore a B was when I was about 20 lbs overweight. :( Unfortunately we ladies have to make a choice betw being larger w/boobs, or smaller without.

not the case for me. I lost 60lbs and went from a 36DD to a 34DD, at one point I bought an exercise bra that was a 32DD. I can't seem to get away from those D's. My 'girls' have absolutely no "life" to them whatsoever!!:( When I was preggo I was a "G" Yeah-I didn't think that was possible until I was fitted in a maternity store. Didn't think the letters went up that high.

Just to add I am only 5 ft tall!!

I have to add I wish I was a 'B' cup. There are so many tops I can not wear because of my size and lack of support. At least being smaller you can wear padding to make yourself look larger and still have perky boobs.

Chrissy - I also wish I was a B cup. After doing P90X, I went from a 34DD to a 32D. I can't seem to get out of the Ds either!

Can I borrow some? ;)

I see both sides of this--the women on my dad's side all have had reductions b/c of back problems, clothes fit, etc (why didn't I get at least a share? Thanks mom. :p). But small women have some issues w/clothes fitting well too, and, the padding is considered a form of deception by ummm some dudes, if you know what I mean.

Believe me, there are times when I feel very unfeminine b/c of my bra size. Once I went into a VS & was looking for a particular bra & when I asked the salesgirl for my size, she smirked (I mean she really did smirk!) & said "we don't carry that size in our stores. Try the website." :(

TMI = too much information

My problem recently has not just been them going down - which actually I am hoping for because I am oozing out of a few of my cuter 36DD's - so after losing 20lbs and I fitting in my 36DD properly - but now they are not as perky... :( another bad side effect. Now I am no where near Heba droop (hehe) but they are just not the same.... that part sucks too...

It is funny because as I have lost weight - my girlfriends always notice the change in the 'girls' first LOL

Laura- if I could I would share. I am not selfish;).

that is funny about VS because I went in there looking for a bra and I was looking at the bras that were hanging up. She said "we don't keep THAT size bra out. You have to look in the draws" .. and maybe I read more into it than I should have but I took it like- a bra that big is not that attractive to look at so we hide them.

i am nursing my 3rd baby.....my boobs are so ugly it scares ME!:p:mad:
probably would scare dh but thanks to my unsightly "pancakes with a nipple" im a lights-out kinda gal!:p
he often comments on my toned chest....wish i had something else for him to comment on in that area!

I have had the exact same VS experience with my size as well.... Kindof like shoes for me - I wear a size 11 and the same shoe in a 7 is just SO much more cute.... hehe...

Anne- at least I get to wear the cute shoes. I am only a 6- I guess my shoe size matches my height (5 ft) Unless I am wearing sneakers to workout in, I have to wear some kind of heel (I need to give myself a little boost!!)

I'm with Chrissy!
I would happily share 1/2 of my DD's for a nice pair of toned, small arms.
For me, with the big boobs AND big arms, if you looked a picture of me from the waist up, I look at least 20 lbs heavier.

My boobs don't budge at all with weight loss. Not a bit. :(

Chrissy - this is first time I've ever heard of a "G" cup! I can't believe you lost 60 lbs (congrats btw) and your cup size stayed the same!!

I used to be a D and over the course of about 5 or so years, I have gone down to a B. But now there is some room to spare in these B's. I keep telling myself that maybe my bras have stretched out and that's why they are loose! ;) I don't think that is the case, though.

LauraMax - I guess you are right: I could either be larger w/ boobs or smaller w/out.

That being said, I really evny you ladies that can be smaller and still maintain your boobage!!! ROCK ON!!!

I'm a freakin' 34G and even I don't love it when the boobs go. They never seem to just shrink into a pretty little package, but get all droopy and such. Yecchhh!

Before I lost 100 lbs, I was a 42JJ.

Please don't envy me-they are a pain in the A$$. They get in the way and sag. I could literally conceal a deadly weapon under them-LOL:cool:

Wow-you got me beat. I am hoping when I finally reach my goal weight, to get a boob lift (and while they're at it a tummy tuck ;))
