Why are the boobs the first to go? Sorry if this is TMI!!!

Yep, happened to me too. Finally got up to a B after having kids, only to be back down to a "B-" (or an A+ ??) after losing 17 pounds. Ideally I'd like to be a B, but having gone up to a D while nursing (!!), given the choice between A and D, I'll take the A.

And can I just add that gravity sucks?

I am laughing and crying at all of your posts! This is great. I too have lost over 30lbs...the girls were the first to go! I was always a 34DD and went upto an F while pregnant it was scary 'cause my boobs were bigger than my babies.
Now I don't even know what size my pancakes are...probably in the C range but they have lost their perk! Not only that but I also have junk in the trunk. I'm hoping that will firm up please say it does.

Can I borrow some? ;)

I see both sides of this--the women on my dad's side all have had reductions b/c of back problems, clothes fit, etc (why didn't I get at least a share? Thanks mom. :p). But small women have some issues w/clothes fitting well too, and, the padding is considered a form of deception by ummm some dudes, if you know what I mean.

Believe me, there are times when I feel very unfeminine b/c of my bra size. Once I went into a VS & was looking for a particular bra & when I asked the salesgirl for my size, she smirked (I mean she really did smirk!) & said "we don't carry that size in our stores. Try the website." :(

TMI = too much information

Oh my gosh! How rude of the sales girl.:(

I tell you what, I have always loved my small boobs. I am 52 years old and they are still as perky as they were 30 years ago. Smaller boobs (in my opinion) make you look more youthful and less heavy. Also, the cute bras out there are so much fun! I love bra shopping at VS and Kohl's (they have a junior Sonoma brand that has some really cute, different bras). VS bras fit me perfectly, and the styles are great.

I don't associate my bra size with my femininity in a negative way at all. In fact, my smallness and perkiness makes me feel extra feminine! :D

Us smaller boobie girls can also wear so many things fashion wise that might not be possible for the more well endowed ladies.

Not to mention all the cute workout tops that are available for smaller sizes. SanDiegoFit.com gets lots of my money. And... as far as running and jumping and all that, no issues here with the boobage!

Seriously, I thank my lucky stars every day that I have small, perky boobs. I wouldn't trade them for large ones for anything in the world!

I have to admit ~ I am perky. I like to joke that it took me 38 years to finally get the breasts of a sixteen year old.

As much as I'd enjoy a sizable increase in my cup size (and boy, I'd go on a serious 24 hour cleavage rampage...no one would be safe  ), I will say this...I think a bigger chest would bug me when I'm working out. I'm so used to my Barely B cup, anything larger might throw me off. :D

I went from a nice B to barely an A when I lost 45 lbs. DH doesn't like it much but I don't have any problem with it whatsoever (except when I'm trying to find a bra where the cup has no puckers).

I'm only 5 ft high but well-endowed. Happily, even though I am turning 40 this year the girls are still rather spry. My only complaint is that they are two different sizes. I hate being googly-boobed.

OMG, this is TOO funny! I swear I was going to post about this in the next few days. I was going to entitle it something like, "When you lose the weight, where do the boobs go?" I'm so glad you started this thread. I used to be a little slimmer and pretty well endowed. My hormones got really funky on me and I changed up top. Now when I lose weight, those suckers shrivel up. I started dating someone 8 months ago and in the first 2 weeks of dating him, I lost weight and the boobies shrank. After I got to know him better I said to him, "Too bad you didn't really know me before I lost my weight. You would have had something to hold on to." O.K., is that TMI??????? Sorry if it is. lol :)

Attention doctors: figure out a way that we can share.

I'm in the "wish they would go away" club. They seem determined to outlast any amount of weight loss.

It sucks, 'cause my favorite exercise is running, and I have to endure lots of chafing, and it's expensive and difficult to achieve the correct level of non-bounciness along with comfort. I really liked the Frog Bra from Title Nine, but lately the elastic edges have seemed irritating. Sigh.

Life was soooooo much easier when I was twelve.

You guys are all SO FREAKIN' FUNNY! I don't think I've ever had a post with this much of a response. I'm so glad I had the nerve to post this because I feel so much better now. You ladies are AWESOME!!!

And I have to say that DH has been pretty great about the whole thing. When I first noticed that they were shrinking I asked him what he thought and he said "less to sag as you get older"! I didn't have the heart to remind him that I'm 37 and the saggage is already in full swing.

Hey, at least they don't fall into my armpits when I'm lying on my back anymore!!! That's a plus, right?!?!?!

Melissa, my DH has also been great about it. Either he didn't notice (I doubt it!), or he's put on a really great act. When I bring it up, he brushes it off like it's a non-issue. And I usually get a nice compliment too.

That's great Jodi!! We are lucky ladies.

I think my DH is content knowing that although my front side may not have much to offer anymore, the backside ain't going anywhere!!!;)

Chiming in as another one who wishes for just a bit more. Even while nursing I only got up to a B. I realize I have the luxury of being able to workout without a bra on...can't stand pulling the straps back up. However, I hate that I can't find bathing suits that looks cute. Can we just say.."sliding triangles". That is what happens when I try to wear a two piece. I finally found Venus suits which come with boobies built in, but they soak up a lot of water and you have to unload them when you get out of the water.

And forget about wearing the cute spaghetti strap tank tops. Too much gapage between me and the built in bra shelf..I guess I am a few books short of filling that shelf!

Oh well...I guess the grass always seems greener. I won't have to worry about sagging. The wonderful laws of boob physics...what doesn't stick out now, won't hang down later!

Count me in with the "they can't disappear fast enough" crowd! I used to be a cute 36C until I gained about 60lbs after I got married... now I'm a 38D and they are ALWAYS IN THE WAY!!! I hate it. I lost 40lbs last year and didn't go down at all in chest size. I was so mad.

Women in my family tend to be very large-breasted... my poor sister was a 32B at age 9!! (She's now a 40DD and is completely miserable... she's looking to try to get a medically-needed breast reduction.)

I agree with the previous poster who said that larger boobs make you look a lot heavier and dumpier (at least that do that to me and the other women in my family!) I always think I'd look like I had an instant 15lb weight loss if I could just halve my chest size!! :(

For those of you with cute little perky chests... I envy you!!

Melissa,

LOL!! My butt did shrink some but my hubby is very glad it didn't disappear like my boobs. He's totally supportive and loves me no matter what though. He says he honestly does not remember me being over 200 lbs.

I lost 100 pounds (kept off 20 lbs from highest weight for about 12 years, then lost an additional 80 lbs) and the boobs were definitely the first to go for me! I think it's just genetically wherever you store fat the most is where you'll lose it last (so for me that's hips/thighs). I went from 38D to 34 C and then overnight the 34C seemed huge. Now I'm 32B push up (sometimes I need a C cup for the xtra skin). They are sad and saggy but I don't wish they were bigger at all....I just wish they were perky. Now that they hang down, you can definitely see my pecs!

You know, it's funny, but even at 34G, I don't think my breasts look all that big. I wear tops that show a lot of chest, but not a lot of cleavage, if you get my meaning. It gives me a sleeker look, without all that bunching up at the top. (I know that some men love that bunching up cleavage look, but I really don't!) I guess I kind of de-emphasize my chest size naturally. I also wear very expensive, excellent European bras that provide the right support structurally and it makes an enormous difference in my silouhette and how I feel. If you have larger breasts, it is a must to spend the money to get the right bra and get professionally fitted. Wonder Bra just ain't gonna cut it, and neither are those VS bras.

For some reason, my back has never been a problem in terms of chronic pain related to the size of my boobs. I guess I'm lucky that way.

Never wanted bigger boobs - I always thought that the more fit you are - the smaller they would be - and I wanted to be fit. I now know I'm wrong - there are tiny girls with huge boobs. Mine have never been above a B - I'm good with them - they don't sag really (YET!!) but my Grandma had boobs hanging near her waist. I guess I have that to look forward to.

My DH prefers smaller boobs too - so it's all good.

Well, like I said, it's not that I don't completely agree that it is a crappy situation, but then blame the employers who don't provide any sick leave. I don't think it's exactly fair to blame the employee who has no choice in the matter; if given paid sick leave, I'm sure EVERYONE would rather stay home and recuperate. (And I don't work with anyone who has a compromised immune system, so that isn't an issue in my office.)

MC

This is the "boob" department. "Sick employees" is a couple of doors down. :p :D
