Why are paper plates used?

uhh ohh Gayle, I think we will be in real trouble with the gliders, or plastic plates! Winter will be REALLY bad. I wonder if my hair will be sticking up, too, from the static. An idea that just popped into my head is maybe if we hold a wood stick that might help buffer the shock -- I dunno. It's like when you're touch a wooden table you don't get shocked.

Really, you already get shocked just picking up the mats? Guess we better be careful not to start a fire! :)

Let me know if ya think of any other good ideas to avoid shocks!

thanks!

Chocolate IS the answer, regardless of the question.

Increase the humidity in your house (the reason winter is more 'shocking' than other seasons is the low humidity).

Yes, that makes sense. I could bring out our room humidifierand hopefully that will help. Not sure how to alleviate the shocks from the grocery carts, though.

Lorrie,

I'm so glad you posted about the puzzle mats. I use the same thing in my workout area and was starting to worry about how I was going to slide with paper plates/gliders (or anything else), since the whole purpose of the mat is to avoid sliding.

But your solution with a large beach towel sounds great - thanks for the great idea!

Ok ladies! I don't have 4DS yet. I will though! I'm slowly collecting them all. But you guys are freaking me out with all this paper plate talk. I'm klutzy enough - this is gonna break my neck!

Hey Linda....I think I may need to BITE DOWN on that wooden broom stick for when I get the shock! lol And YES....I get shocked just by picking up the puzzle mats! I pick them up and can just HEAR the charges all getting ready to ZAP ZAP ZAP me!

I like the idea of a Frisbee....I may need to try that out!
