Who's thinking of going on the Road Trip?

I'm seriously considering it, but my first reaction was 'is this going to be like grade school/jr.high/high school gym class' where I was always picked last?

Then I went through the "everyone will probably be fitter/stronger/cuter/buffer/younger/tanner/more popular/more coordinated/less sweaty/less saggy/less pale....than me" stage.

Then I thought it's good for people to dare to do things that they find challenging or a little scary, and I'm now at the "who cares about the above" stage. :D

I may change my mind by Friday, but I've checked air fares, just got my tax refunds, and am ready to preregister!

No thinking involved on this one..I'm there!!!!:+ :7 :+ :7 :+

I thought about alot of the same things you did, Kathryn and then decided that I am NOT in highschool anymore so I will not worry about it! I refuse to! I am just gonna show up and have the best time possible!

Hope to see you there!:)

I'm just curious how many of us will show up not knowing a sole (except Cathe, of course)?? I really want to go and if I do it will be the first time in my life I've done something like this all by myself!! It's a little scary but exciting as well because I know I will meet a lot of like-minded Cathe (and fitness) lovers like me!

Kathryn,

I feel the same way. How will I compare to all the others? Well, I think no big deal. I have never done anything like this in my life. I have ten children and a husband. I have been invited to numerous shopping weekends, but have always declined. My husband has been encouraging me to go.

So, I have also checked on flight prices. I even did a map quest to see if driving was feasible (12 hours) - NO WAY!

I am definitely going. I will be online at noon on Friday. I think I will even rent a car while I am there. I look at it this way - I am 51 years old, I think I can handle not "knowing" anyone.

This is so exciting!

Cheryl

Kathryn - I would think a lot of people who be interested in meeting you as you've been around the Cathe forums for a long time. I wish I could make it but I won't be able to this year. Anyway, the last RT was not at all like a High School trip. THe ladies were all very friendly. I did not get the feeling like I had to compete with anyone like HS. It was a *MUCH* better experience than high school - that's for SURE! ;)

Road Trip--Count Me In!!!

Kathryn:

I am planning to be there if I am blessed enough to get in. :) With only 105 spots available, I think a lot of people will be disappointed. I just lost a friend who died unexpectedly late yesterday. :-( (She was an animal lover, and I hope she is playing with Tucker since they both left this earth on the same day!) Her memorial service will be Friday afternoon. It would really cheer me up to know that I have the Cathe Road Trip to look forward to this summer. I would love to meet you too. It would be fun to share a meal with you. Can I have all your cheese please? :9

I have the same memories of high school gym class. I had many of the same reservations. If we both get to go, we will see who is the last one picked for the team. ;-) By the way, I am whiter than snow and fluffier than you are too! :7

Blessings,
Heather B.

RE: Road Trip--Count Me In!!!

Kathryn....if I am lucky enough to get registered and you are too...I will definitely find you to meet you!!

Funny as this Road Trip will be 2 months after my 30th HS reunion! Talk about "why would I go?"...but I am going to that reunion and taking a lot of patience and looking forward to seeing some of my BEST friends from High School. I could care less about some of the other plastic ones...:)

I know I will have A LOT more fun at Cathe's Road Trip, as I will be with people that love exercise, and don't mind sweating in front of each other, and who cares who married who, and how many kids, and what do you do for a living, and yeah, how much money do YOU make, I wanna have FUN!!! Meeting Cathe and so many of you here I have come to know, sounds like one fantastic weekend...:)

RE: Road Trip--Count Me In!!!

Kathryn, funny, but I feel the same way. I usually feel more than invisible on this forum (ahh, high school) so I wonder how that would translate into 'real life'. I'm actually kinda shocked at myself for even considering it lately.

RE: Road Trip--Count Me In!!!

GO!!!!

I LOATHED high school and this Road Trip will be about as far from that as you can possibly get. The camaraderie is amazing and everyone was just so friendly and wonderful last time. I guarantee you'll have the time of your life.

I would absolutely love to go but unfortunately, I can't this time.

RE: Road Trip--Count Me In!!!

I hope to be there. I went through all that self doubt and worry with the last road trip and then had to cancel at the last minute. I'm not going to let my jiggles and lumps keep me from meeting Cathe, the crew and as many Cathe friends as I can this time.

RE: Road Trip--Count Me In!!!

I plan on it if i can get a spot.I am sure we are all mature enough not to be like school kids. I think it is going to be awesome to meet all of you and she is probably going to kick our butts...LOL...

RE: Road Trip--Count Me In!!!

Kathryn.....if you were picked last in high school, then don't worry!!! I was picked AFTER you!!!

I can't wait to go!! Yes, I have my trepidation of not being fit enough, especially having lost 70 lbs in the last 2 years, and still jiggling in many places, but my excitement over meeting everyone here who is able to make it as well as Cathe has certainly overtaken that fear!!!

I, for one, am looking forward to meeting you and finally putting a face to the awesome information you provide!!!

My DH is even going to put a bigger memory card in my camera so I can take LOTS of pictures!

RE: Road Trip--Count Me In!!!

I also share the same fears/nervousness about the RT, but I am planning on going if I get a spot. Is anyone else from western NY thinking about going on the road trip?

Beth

Katherine, GO!! I would kill to go...I'd have all the same concerns but I'd go in a heartbeat if I could.

I'm sure no one cares what anyone looks like, or whether anyone stumbles during a step class. I'm not going because I can't justify the cost for a weekend trip. That being said, I'm not a social butterfly anyway, so I would not be comfortable being around a crowd with little alone time.

I've felt the same but then thought "who gives a rats behind what anyone thinks" It would be fun to meet Cathe and fun to meet all of you so if I can get in I will be there.

So Kathryn, are you going to let us know what your decision is before tomorrow??? As for me I'm leaning towards not going for the reasons I posted above. I would love to meet Cathe though.

Carolyn

Well Carolyn, I hope you will let the ghosts of high school pass you by and come to the road trip. I hope to meet you. ;-)
