I feel like it's coming and it seems every time I get in a good pattern of working out, something like this happens. I hope it passes quickly. I was supposed to run tomorrow and spin on Tues. Mon is my rest day. It feels like sinus stuff but I'm coughing a little and my head feels funny. Oh well.

I was sick this past week. Started off Monday with headache and body aches and that went all the way through til Wednesday. Wednesday I thought I was going to be over it, but Thursday started by being sick to my stomach in the morning and the body aches returned by evening. Finally started to feel better 1/2 way through Friday. I haven't been this sick in years. Hope to get back to workouts tomorrow although today I still feel really run down.

Kim, hope yours' is only a cold and passes quickly.

Jean and Kim..I hope you guys are feeling better soon :)

I'm on antibiotics right now for an ear infection :( The past few days have not been fun. I haven't been able to keep up with my cardio this week b/c of balance issues..feeling very dizzy and nauseous :( My weight workouts have been lacking too.

just getting over something nasty not sure what the hell it was but my sinuses were congested my throat was sore totally weak and achey and had a fever. took over a week to get over and i am not completely well yet.

hope you feel better soon.

I got a flu shot about a week and a half ago so I don't think it's that. Probably just a cold but still.....I did manage to get in a solid lower body workout today though. I figured I may as well before I started to feel worse. If I feel "okay" in the AM I'm still going to go walk 4 miles. Better than nothing.

Kim, sorry you are not feeling well.:( I have not been 100 percent since the 1-2 punch of the Lyme and a cold. My backside is dragging. Hopefully I will snap out of it soon since I am hosting Thanksgiving this year for 20 people. ACK!

ME!!!
For a month and counting!!! :(:(:(
I got a cold that went to my chest, then to my ears and now is stuck up in my sinuses!!! I am sick and tired of being sick and tired!!!:mad:
I'm sure that this part is fall allergies on top of the original cold, could it please just freeze already??????
And the rest I'm blaming on my little guys in school!

Wow...20 people for Thanksgiving!!!! How in the world do you do that? When I built the house I'm living in now, we moved in the end of Sept. I cooked the sides for Thanksgiving dinner for 4 people and thought I'd never make it. :D

I am so glad to hear I am not alone in this. I got a cold (?) well over a week ago. I had the sweating shivers for a couple of nights. Then it moved into my respiratory tract and flared my asthma so I was put on prednisone. The past few days the muscle aches are making me crazy, even my shins ache and I have hardly moved. Now I have joint pain too. I really want this to hurry up and go away because I am supposed to have surgery soon and I don't want to postpone my surgery any more. I was beginning to think I was going crazy with this cold, but it seems I am not alone. I hope you all feel better.

Kim,
I feel like everytime I get into a good pattern of working out, I get sick too! I had to respond to what you said there because I thought maybe my getting sick was related to my workouts, like I was pushing myself too hard or not taking enough rest. I'm not sure, but I hope you feel better!! (Not to bear potential bad news, but I thought I've heard that sometimes flu shots can GIVE people the flu on rare occasions?? Hope not!) Feel better soon!

To everyone else on the forum that's been sick, I hope you all feel better soon!

Elliemom - I applaud you for taking Cathe's class a few weeks ago with being so sick lately!

We just got over our first cold of the season, with my daughter getting sick a second time a week after we all recovered. And she's the one who rarely gets ill. Prior to this, we had a 10 month, virus-free streak going.

My husband (oddly enough, an Infectious Disease specialist who manages to get sick only once every 2 to 3 years) always jokes, "The bugs will win in the end."

Hope everyone recovers quickly and has an uneventful flu season. Get that Vitamin C in the house! :)

Both my daughters have brought home 2 colds each so far this school year, and I am staying sickness-free. I haven't really had a bad cold for several years. I am less stressed than I was 4 years ago, and I sleep (slightly!) more. Both of these things are key.

I have also heard that something the flu shot can actually cause the flu. I don't think that's it though. I do feel better today but my throat itches and makes me cough some. Here's to everyone feeling better and continuing their workouts!!!!

I have had a cold for 3 weeks. I was not kicking it, so I quit working out and am trying to get extra sleep, but I am still drippy. :(

That is a myth. The flu shot is made from a killed virus - it cannot infect you when it is dead. Some people may experience a low-grade fever and some body aches after getting the flu shot, but that isn't the flu - it's just the body working to build up antibodies to the flu virus.
