Who Cares - May !

I did an oldie Friday, kpc, modified the heck out of it. Not sure if I got sore from it and that's why cycling today felt tough, 17 miles (all the snow is melted, had to stay on pavement as the trails are a muddy mess) or maybe I have different muscles sore from being clipped in. We'll, either way, I'm sore! Tracy, suki hates the snow, she's such a prima donna. Sometimes I have that pic too big problem but not too often I don't know why. My parents passed 15 yrs ago (2 months apart) so it's nothing new, just me being sentimental. If I'm honest, I took a couple naps while I read all snuggled in bed, whoops! I did apcore a couple days this weeke and I can feel that too. Hope all is having a great weekend!

Hi fit babes! Got Tapatalk going so I'll try to put up a photo this way. And maybe do better posting more often!

Roxie, I am so glad you got a nice goodbye from your employer! That's great to know you were appreciated and you could leave on a positive note! And I ate poorly Fri. night and yesterday so it's back to the healthier stuff today!

Lisa, my friend's Inu is a princess too, it runs in the breed! I think BB loves the snow so much because he runs really warm. I'm sorry you lost your parents so close together! And it doesn't matter how long ago it was because your life is forever changed. I have adjusted to a new normal, but am dreading the loss of my father, whenever that will occur!

My friend and I exhausted ourselves on our shopping day and my feeties hurt from all of the walking. But they were fine for my outing with BB today so I did use different muscles.

Talk to babes again soon!

Tracy, tx for pic, he's super cute! I used to have Corgis and love dogs, but now I just have a cat + younger DD cat for the summer. I appreciate the lower maintenance of felines. Oh BTW, DD noticed cat stalking something --> turns out it was a juvy scarlet king snake. 2nd time we've had unintentional snake in house! (ugh shopping, I hate buying clothes at my current size)

I've been working, I just did 4 in a row. Today DD heading back to Zurich for flight to Johannesburg. I hope all goes well. She's been in Colmar France for two days. Today I get to pick up mom's taxes and also doing a Mindfulness Meditation class offered by my work.

Lisa, that snow was crazy! As always, I envy your outdoor cycling. I might do some biking in Central FL during my time off.

Mary do you have trips planned for summer to see your son yet in DC? DD will be able to join you then too?

Ronne, you are still busy w/ work? I really need to find a yoga class, my DD will even go with me.

Roxie congrats on last day and finishing on a good note as well!

Hey Murphs!

Jeesh, I talked about my girls a lot! Oh and no workout to report just a lot of steps, even 10 K one day even though I just had my ICU.

Hi everyone! I took a total rest day yesterday, I was exhausted, it then worked out that both boys was able to get together for lunch! Today 30 mile ride with neighbor, yep she's drinking the cycling kool-aid! Tracy, BB is so adorable! Shopping is a whole other workout! Jody, I had over 15,000 steps one day last week and foot /ankle was OK, as long as I stay away from uphill, weird foot. How fun for DD! Eek about snake, no thank you! Sorry for short check in, I'm wiped out from the ride!

Good Evening,

I did StudioSweat Spin Mike's Recovery Ride then went an filled out paperwork for new job. DH and I had two of the grandsons this weekend and boy were we exhausted. I am going to have to back off spinning after this week my knee is just not happy with me right now.

Lisa-please tell me how to manage the hot flashes even with hormone therapy they are horrible and I still don't sleep very well. Maybe when we get moved and life calms down it will help.

Jodi-I hate snakes.

Good morning. Sorry to have been missing, just busy with the family. Jody, Manchester is horrific. No words. I hope DD is having fun on her adventure. It's so hard to let them go. DS is in DC, sent me a pic of himself yesterday, he was dressed the same as Al Roker! Ronne, are you by Manchester? Thinking of you. Tracey, you dog is adorable!! I could squeeze him! Roxie, are you moved yet? When do you start your new job? Lisa, you created a cyclist! Just like you! Hey Murphy! DH did amazing on Sunday! He came in 158th out of 4800! Had to work yesterday, back to Monday's. Tomorrow we are going to Pittsburgh to see Mumford and Sons. Also visiting with DH's brother. Should be a nice couple of days. Hope everyone is well, talk to you soon. Mary

Hi everyone

Just wanted to pop in and say hi. I've just been mad busy with work so haven't had the time to post but I have been getting the workouts in.
The Manchester bomb is just horrific. I don't live nearby now but it is where I'm from and where I went to uni. I'm actually going to a gig there in July. Sadly, this appears to be the new normal for the foreseeable future. Much love to all...

Good Morning,

I did StudioSweat Express Torch and Tone w/Cat. My knee hurts again today.

Mary-no on the move still waiting on a situation to play out. I am suppose to orientate Friday or Saturday if I can get the email to start my background check.

Ronnie-thinking of you this world is falling apart.

Good Morning,

Total Body Stretching this morning

Mary-we will be moving next week if we can find a place and I just finished all the paperwork for my new job

Hi all, I've been, you guessed it, cycling! Last 2 days with DH, I get a true zone 4 workout with him. It was so hot yesterday I came home with tomato face! Today there were dark ominous clouds and we rode but our route turned away before we got to them thank goodness. Mary, congrats to DH! How's DS doing going in DC? Roxie, maybe things will calm down after the move. I think your hormone issues are worse because of they hysterectomy. I don't have any hot flashes and I sleep mostly good if I wear myself out and try not to let my brain think! Ronne, sad for Manchester, sad for the threat all live with, it's crazy. Tracy, lurking? Murphy, you too? And hello to Jody, how is DD doing? I'm sure it's nerve wracking for you, especially after Manchester.

Hello

Roxie - good luck with the move. I'm getting night sweats at the moment which is disturbing my sleep. Not sure what to do about it...

Lisa - I know what you mean about tomato head! I'm getting that at the moment with the weather getting warmer.

All a bit crazy here with DD's exams, my work and the world in general. Did some yoga today to try and calm myself down. We've got a bank holiday weekend so I'm going to try and take it easy for a few days and just not think about stuff.

Hi fit babes! Thank you for your kind comments about BB! And no lurking for me, I always post when I visit. :) Really busy week and I was so exhausted last night I just sat on the couch and let time go right on by me!

Jody, I was a cat person but DH is a dog person so he let me pick the dog. Glad I did my research 'cause cavs are most like cats! But BB is definitely higher maintenance than a cat would ever be. Hmm, I think I'm a dog person now...hadn't really thought of that until now! I'm sorry about the snake, that would freak me out! I hope DD is catching all of her planes to her destinations! I don't think I could handle her super busy itinerary!

Lisa, I would be exhausted after every bike ride with you! :D Being physically tired definitely makes me sleep better. Unfortunately, I'm usually just mentally tired! And that's awesome about your steps! Does that mean your foot and ankle are getting better?

Hi Roxie! I'm sorry you are having the hot flashes and poor sleep, even with HRT! I am on hormone therapy for hot flashes and they are minimal. Have you been on the therapy long? I think Lisa is right about it being harder when you've had a hysterectomy (I have not) because your body has gone through a change instantly rather than over time. Do you think you can try a higher dose, just for a short time? For sleeping, I take over the counter melatonin with valerian root 1 hour before bed. It does the trick for me. If you want to try it, make sure it has the valerian root in it. Otherwise, it won't help you. I hope you find a place you really like to move to!

Mary, that is awesome how DH did! Congrats! How was the concert? Hope you had a great time!

Ronne, I was heartbroken when I read about Manchester, but I am glad you and yours are OK. I will never understand what makes someone think that setting off a bomb is the right thing to do. I try to remember that there are still many loving, supportive, helpful people in this world. They just don't make the front page news. I also get night sweats too with no rhyme or reason for them. Humidity maybe? What is it you do for work?

Hi Murphy! Hope you are having fun somewhere.

I took today off to make it a 4 day weekend. And I got one thing done on my to-do list so far. Good thing it's a pretty short list! Why set myself up for failure? :D I got most of my workouts in this week but missed Weds. because I was out of town for work. Monday was Flex Train, Tues. was Cardio Slam again and I got tomato head as before but I didn't need to pause it so much so that was a win. S&S TBGS yesterday 'cause I love that one and today, since I was home, I did IMAX 2. I only have a mini step at work so it was nice to drag out the big one today. IMAX2 has always been really challenging for me so I try to do it once a year to gauge how my cardio capacity is 'cause I ain't getting any younger! It went pretty well despite my tomato head!

I hope you all have a lovely weekend! For the first time in I don't know how long, we are going to be sunny and in the high 80s all weekend. That's almost unheard of here since summer starts here on a consistent basis July 11!

Hello! How is everyone? Pittsburgh was nice, A LOT of hills, won't be moving there in my retirement! I have been working out.

Tracey, hope you enjoyed the sun. We had it here this weekend also. I was able to get a little sun in. I too love cats! Everyone else is allergic, so dogs it is. Only by default, I do love them tho!

Ronne, did you get some relaxation in? Hope DD is ok!

Lisa, did you bike a lot this weekend? DS is doing well, today they are moving him into an apartment from the hotel. I'm hoping to go next week to see him.

Jody, how is your DD doing? How is the cell service? Are you working a lot?

Roxie, did you find a place to live? When do you start the new job?

Murphy, did you and the family have fun this weekend?

Back to work tomorrow, house cleaned, not much else here. Mumford and Sons put on a great show, we went to our first IKEA, (loved!) and went to an amusement park. Kids dragged me on some scary coasters! Lots of laughs. Hope everyone has a good day! Mary

Hi all. Sorry to have been away. I have been keeping up with my workouts, modifying as I go along. I am in a weight close contest, teams of 5. I will keep you posted. I am hoping it will keep me on the straight and narrow.
I pulled out AfterBurn the other day. I did some modifying but I finished it. I felt so accomplished.

Waves to all.

Murphy

Hi all, hope everyone had a nice long weekend!
Ronne, you sound stressed, were you able to relax and not think?
Tracy, oh yes, from last year my foot/ankle are waaaay better, still have to be careful not to overdo the things I know will irritate it. I used to love hiking and that is still iffy. My friend and I used to go so much, I was trying to get plans with her even if it's not a big hike like we used to and honestly I don't miss the big long hikes. DH and I have reservations in a couple of weeks to SD and there are some short hikes I have planned for us, I'm happy I can do those! I hope the weather isn't rainy...right now the extended forecast doesn't look good :( we have until June 6th to cancel our reservations so I'm holding out hope that the forecast gets better. I used to love to do step, that is one thing I still can't do, thankfully I'm not missing it since I found out that I'm a cyclist! lol!
Mary, ah, those kids will keep you young for a while! I've never been to Pennsylvania (besides getting a puddle jumper plane to fly into WV to see relatives), if I hadn't moved to CO, I think I would have ended up in Mechanicsburg, PA for work as that is where it moved after I left FL. So much you look back and say, gee, it was lucky/meant to be/destined for X to happen in my life....ah, getting sentimental here.
Murphy, good luck on the weight competition! Modify away! My mantra is, it's better than nothing! I still have to lift half of what I used to and if I don't I pay with muscle overuse in neck/upper back...I'm tired of paying!

Let's see, I have been working out. Friday, cycling with my neighbor...she has improved so much, we did 25 miles I think. Sat- I did BM2 double upper...I went a bit too heavy and paid for it, felt crappy with the muscle fatigue....so no matter what I'm ALWAYS doing half of what I used to do....I must! Sunday, DH and I rode bikes to Boulder (and so did everyone else), I passed 2 GUYS up the big hill in Boulder! yea me! OK, yea, everyone else passed me but I take my accomplishments where I can! Monday, the neighbor and her husband joined DH and I, It was fun! We did 30 miles. Best part, as soon as they got back he went online to do research on getting them new and better bikes. He retires in Sept (he's only 57 but they can retire), so DH and I are looking for him to retire in April, so we may be cycling with them next summer. See, things turn out as they should....if I hadn't injured my ankle and had to use a bike to get around, DH and I would have never started cycling and finding we enjoy it and find another couple to do it with!

Good Evening,

No workout had youngest GS 1 year old this weekend and have been packing for our move this weekend. We found a two bedroom duplex that we like only 1,075.00 a month. I have orientation for my new job Thursday.

Last day to post for May! I did a 30 min walk w/ sprints today and got between 8-10K steps at work over the past 6 of 7 days that I worked. I'm off for a bit, here's to hoping I get something done around the house since I don't have any travel plans. Waves to all. Roxie congrats on new home and best wishes for easy move. Lisa, I hope the weather holds up for you. Lucky you and your cycle buddies! Mary DD out of touch for the most part right now but I think she's seeing a lot of wildlife, I've only gotten a short email since she arrived at Swazi Camp. Woo hoo coasters! Murphy - personally I'm sick and tired of being fat. GRR. Tracy, you do a great job of getting those workouts in. I like step but don't find it fits into my goals too often. Plus I think it jams up my neck. Ronne, good luck to Dd and her exams. Stress!
